We enjoyed our stay at the governors. It is an old facility but has been kept up beautifully. The only complaint we had were the bathrooms. They were extremely small, but that is to be expected with the age of the property. I was very impressed with how clean the facility was considering the age. The breakfast was great and the restaurant was convenient with late night options. We enjoyed sitting around the pool sipping a cocktail while playing cards. Convenient to all the shops and restaurants…we walked everywhere

On older property but meticulously maintained. Easy walk to "The Plaza". Awesome bar/lounge and restaurant on site. Complimentary cooked to order breakfast. Friendly and accomodating staff. Pool and pool area was clean. We will definatly be staying at Inn of the Governors again! 😁

The hotel was a bit dated but very cute with desert decor and gorgeous flowered balconies. The location was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. Easy free parking and a lovely pool. The only downside was having to carry luggage up some stairs.

Everyone on staff was warm, engaging, and welcoming. From Sam, the manager, to Laura, who lit my fireplace each night…if I return to Santa Fe and NOT stay at the Inn of the Governors, it will only be because they had no rooms available! The afternoon sherry and biscotti was a nice touch. Next time I hope to try the pool!

This motel excels in every way. The staff is friendly and efficient, you get a made to order breakfast included and if you're there at the right time, evening sherry and bizcochitos. Very easy to walk around downtown Santa Fe to shops and restaurants. Lively bar in the evening at the Inn. Parking is included at no cost. And fabulous flowers in the summer!

The staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was clean and nicely decorated. We liked the pool area. The bathroom design is not great. The shower leaks all over the floor. We tried pointing the shower head away from the curtain and that didn’t help. We had to get more towels to sop up the water.

Older hotel close to the Plaza. Well maintained. Great amenities, super-friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant/bar on-site. Made-to-order breakfast with a variety of choices. Self-parking is a bit of a challenge as the spaces are tight for vehicles larger than a small SUV, but valet parking service is offered by the very friendly parking lot attendants. Check-in and out very smooth. Enjoyed our stay very much and will probably return.

Our room was dirty, long black hair all over our room and bathroom, so it wasn’t cleaned. When we had breakfast, there was a beard hair in my omelette and when I showed one of the staff, she tried to tell me it was “part of the egg” then argued with me about it…please, do not insult your guest’s intelligence, I know a hair when I see one. Stairs were difficult for my 88 year old mother to manage, I wish I’d known because we would have reserved a different room where an elevator would have been available, we were in room 118. Would not stay here again, nor recommend.

Very clean and well run. The location is amazing. Parking is a bit tight but doable. No extra charge for parking is a big plus! The staff is so friendly and very helpful. The ambiance is wonderful. Loved the charm of the decor and buildings. That being said, the room size is quite small. The bathroom is small but serves its purpose. We felt very cozy here. The lobby is inviting and a great place to relax. The complimentary Sherry and cookies Hour was a fun addition that we appreciated too! This was a great place to stay that is so unique!!

As soon as we pulled up to the covered entrance to the hotel we were greeted warmly by a young man named Zander. He was so kind and immediately set the right tone for our arrival. Once inside the front desk manager took over in the same manner. She was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Our entire stay was relaxing and charming. Our room was beautiful,clean and comfortable. We will certainly recommend The Inn of the Governors to friends and family. We won’t hesitate to stay there again.

This was our second trip here and the room was great. Large, clean, and comfortable room. My only complaint is it needs more outlets because it’s old and has limited places to plug in electronics and everything now needs to be charged or plugged in: cell phones, watches, computers, cpap machines…

I'm a little surprised at all of the outstanding reviews on this property. Our experience was "fine". I probably would not return. First off, the staff is lovely. Very friendly. Check in and check out was a breeze. The attendant on check in was very helpful. The included breakfast was welcome. I'm not a fussy breakfast eater, but I imagine for others, more options and bigger portions would be welcome, but, I was happy, and there was coffee with refills! The room. Sigh. Unfortunately for us, we were at the worst part of the hotel. The strip of rooms that overlook the parking lot on the first level. Our room was two in from the very busy, very noisy road. We heard everything. Motorcycles, noisy cars, people talking, people going to their car, car alarms. Everything. The room a bit of a let down. It's in need of updating. I understand it's an older property, but we felt kind of squashed in there. Tiny bathroom (shower/toilet together) and the tiles were dingy. And the room was dark, a bit of a dampish smell. It's listed as a 4-star property. I would say 3-star is more fitting. Our section was motel-y. I guess for the price we paid, we expected more? No daily room cleaning, unless you specifically asked for it. That's not a complaint, we were fine... just a comment. Very walkable to everything though, which was great. So much to see.

The thermostat is so old it does not tell you the temperature you are setting in the room so you have to guess over and over. Get a digital thermostat, they aren’t that expensive!!

The hotel is in a great location and the free breakfast is excellent. Most rooms are nice enough, but be sure you don’t get a room on the ground floor, which hardly get any light, and mine smelled dank. I was originally given one and luckily, when I asked, they moved me upstairs, which I appreciated.

Very nice property. The man at the front desk when we checked in was rude and sarcastic, but the rest of the staff was outstanding. We didn’t get his name. The breakfast was very good. The parking was insufficient, but the man in charge of the parking was very personable and helpful. Chris the bartender was outstanding. So nice and so good at his craft.

Excellent options for healthy eaters and a varied drink menu. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Had issue with room location originally but staff immediately addressed this and personally relocated us. Hotel is ideally located, safe and walking distance to all things around the plaza. Will definitely stay here again . Love the hotel history and charm!

I love staying here. The staff are so friendly-it’s like family when I return. I think they are the soul of the inn-look for Ken in his handmade beaded cuffs. And it’s lovely to meet new people at sherry hour-the lobby is so warm and inviting. It’s also very clean and well kept.

This hotel is a great place to stay in downtown Santa Fe. But more than that, I was so impressed with how focused everyone was on making sure we were comfortable and happy, and that starts with the management, who also looks after their employees first. Besides the comfortable bed and room, they have a sherry, tea and cookie hour from 4-5, which was quite welcome after cold days sightseeing. The guests gather and mingle during that hour while warming up in front of a fireplace or playing some games on the table where the game board is. The breakfast is amazing. We stayed for 7 nights and ate breakfast there every day. The food at Del Charro was also excellent, though the hotel is within walking distance of many amazing restaurants. We've stayed in lots of hotels, but this one specialized in making us feel like we were home. I cannot recommend Inn of the Governors highly enough. The price is right and the stay was fabulous.

The Inn of the Governors was the perfect destination for group travel. We had a block of 5 rooms and enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is convenient and walkable distance from the train depot and Plaza. It was close to restaurants, shopping, museums and main attractions. Loved the charming Southwest decor in the rooms and the value this hotel provided with the free parking, Sherry sampling with bisconchitos cookies in the afternoons and included made to order breakfast! The breakfast tacos were to die for! There is a cute pool area that was great for lounging and the El Charro restaurant that is attached to the hotel is open late, which is nice in a town that closes early. Staff was accomodating and helpful. Check out the cool Art O Matic vending machine in the lobby for cute souvenirs. This will be my go to place to stay in Santa Fe!

We enjoyed our stay from the time we checked in to check out. Hotel is located in the best spot of the historic district for easy walking access to all the restaurants and main attractions including all the shops. The hotel is charming and has a friendly staff. We will definitely stay there again.

This is our favorite Saint Fe hotel. The afternoon sherry and cookies are a fun part of the day. We were.disappointed that the best breakfast buffet in town has been discontinued and guests now receive a free entree at the hotel restaurant. Location is convenient.

The room was great, the staff helpful and pleasant but the included breakfast was disappointing. The selection on the menu was slim, portions small. The fruit was not ripe and the muffin was tasteless. This was not the buffet I remembered from the past. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive.

Perfect location for ease of vehicle access and within easy walking distance to all the major attractions in Santa Fe. Trust me, this is the place to stay! Other reviews are not accurate! Terrible food for dinner. Made me sick. Terrible service for breakfast. I didn’t even get a free breakfast they were so behind. Empty coffee… no hot water for tea. Understaffed, unfriendly. Old place. Freezing cold walk to room. Room small, old and loud. Just underwhelmed and there is no way that place got the rating or reviews it did. Not cozy at all! I should have stayied at Hotel Santa Fe ( we’ve stayed multiple times before). Hotel Santa Fe is a top notch place with excellent service, food, and inviting atmosphere! Ruined our entire night staying at the inn at the governors.

Charming hotel. Service was excellent. Enjoyed the Sherry hour. Conveniently centered, able to walk to many locationd. Breakfast was ok, not up to standard, stingy with the toast, bacon burnt.
