Best place to stay in Reno. Has everything on sight. Casino, starbucks, sweets, Restaurants, shops, bowling, darts, arcade, driving range, pool, gym, axe throwing, and huge parking lots. Rooms are updated. Staff is friendly!

Nice property, love the pool area! The check in process was a bit rough but was finally able to get in my room, which was well appointed and had a great view of the pool. Comfortable room with space to spread out and the bed is comfy.

Long line for check in, but moved quickly. Simple check in. Room was spacious, clean & comfy. Pool area was clean, relaxing, refreshing. Bed was comfortable and I slept through the night. Been on the road for 13 days and this was just what we needed for our last night before returning home.

Guest parking lot was full. Had to park quite a bit away in outer lot area. Tried to check in on kiosk and it wouldn't allow us to. Waited in line forever with 1 employee on counter. Employee took my license and credit card pulled up by a reservation and then disappeared through the office door. He didn't say a word just walked away. We waited for about 7 to 10 minutes before he returned. I asked if there was a problem. He said the manager had to release the rooms for each guest because it was after midnight. It was a long night trying to get checked in which could have been avoided if they had better management.

Nice huge hotel and casino with a lot to offer, it’s just too crowded and I don’t like the self serve parking that is not covered and it’s a long walk sometimes to your car.

Beautiful property except for the pool umbrella rental. On July 4, 2025, I rented two poolside umbrellas for $80. Unfortunately, shortly after setting up, hotel staff informed me that the umbrellas could not be used due to high wind conditions, which reportedly exceeded safety limits. While I fully understand the importance of safety, it was disappointing to have paid for a service that I was ultimately unable to use. I understand that I signed a liability waiver when I made the payment, but this restriction was not clearly communicated to me at the time of booking. Additionally, the weather forecast had predicted high winds for July 4. Given this, I am unsure why the umbrella rental service was still offered, knowing that I have to close the umbrellas for most of the day. What added to my frustration was the lack of prior notice about the wind conditions affecting umbrella usage, and the fact that no refund or alternative solution was provided. As a guest, I believe such situations should be handled with more transparency and consideration for customer satisfaction. I kindly request a refund for the unused umbrella rental and encourage the hotel to improve communication regarding weather-related restrictions on outdoor amenities. The room was not as clean as it could have been. There was a fake nail near the lamp in between the beds, writing on the wall, broken hook on the bathroom door, the bathroom fan/light was missing the cover. For it being a higher end hotel, the room was poorly kept.

Great stay bed blankets were a bit stained and iron did not work in the room. Stayed in a non smoking room but literally smelt like it was the smoking area. Also there was a lot of cold air coming in from the window.

When we got to our room there was blood in bathroom sink and hair. Also poorly vacuumed room and bathroom floor had dirty shoe marks. The manager on duty offered me 50.00 to compensate! How ridiculous is that for us. Never got 50.00 either. I have photo of sink if need be!

I’ve stayed at the GSR every year for the past 7 years during the Reno cook-off, and unfortunately, this year was very disappointing. The room was noticeably dirty — there was dust throughout, and both the sofa and carpet were stained and unclean. After so many positive experiences in the past, I was really let down by the lack of care in room cleanliness this time. Highly disappointed.

The room was not clean as there were pistachio nuts and brown spots of unknown origin all over the floor. The bathroom walls had smears all over. But the worst was the smell of sigarette smoke in the non-smoking room. We had two children with us, and we had a hard time sleeping in that room. The drink cooler was not working even though they "fixed" it. However, we loved the food and service at the mexican restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful throughout the hotel.

The room was fantastic. It was much larger than I thought it would be. Checking in was a breeze. Every single restaurant we ate at was superb. We ordered breakfast from one of the cafes in the hotel, the best eggs I've had. I will be staying here more often.

My room on 19th floor was nice, clean and spacious. included fridge. had view of airport. casino was way smokey and if you have breathing issues this not for you. had dinner at the buffet - just ok and food selection is limited. saw a concert at their grand theatre - nice small music venue. easy drive over to Lake Tahoe after checkout.

The check in process was a little tricky as was finding our room and there were few staff available for help. Also our fridge was dirty. Also the queen size beds are not queen but more like full sized but comfortable.

I was woken up at 11PM on Saturday night by the band playing outside at the pool. They did not finish until 2AM. Unbelievable how a hotel can allow music to be played that loudly at that hour of the night/morning. My room was on the 17th floor and felt the vibration from the instruments and crowd. Never staying again.

Check-in took awhile. With multiple large events happening the valet and front desk appeared severely understaffed. Friendly attitudes from them all through some grumpy conversations. Breakfast at the cafe on Sunday morning was much the same, lots of guests and minimal staffing.

I paid on the Expedia site and then when I arrived there was an additional 192 dollars due to check in. When I went to check in I was offered a room upgrade. I thought they were just being nice and offering an upgrade. Had no idea they would charge me for the upgrade upon checking out. Another 142 that they made me pay. Was going to go wait in check out line at hotel, but it was 20 people deep and only one person working the counter. Genuinely feel like I was scammed by hotel and possibly Expedia for not explaining everything. Just a bad taste in my mouth from this experience.

Everything is always great at the GSR, EXCEPT check in. Check in is ridiculously slow. I usually arrive after 11:PM. There is always a line with one person working the check in desk. After 15 minutes of waiting they add a second person. Come on GSR add more people at the check in counter.

The room was ok. Needed to be cleaned up better. Worst buffet I’ve ever eaten!! Paid a high price for food that looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for days! Mexican restaurant very bland. Gave up after trying two places to eat there.

It’s a very nice and cozy hotel with an incredibly hard working efficient staff. They are very nice. It has grown quite expensive over the last few years for anything purchased on the property. However there are many choices for food/dining.

Hotel was nice enough, bed was comfy and room was clean. When we checked in our was not ready (this was an hour after check in began) and the self service computer does not automatically find you a new room. We had to wait in a very long regular check in line to explain our issue before we were given a new room. This wasted about 45 minutes. They did upgrade our room so that was nice. The food at all on site restaurants and cafés is double to triple market rate and is honestly not that great. I didn’t expect absolutely amazing food, but at least sell it at market rate. $14 for a small hot chocolate and a small yogurt is outrageous. On the other hand, the pool was nice

The property looked very clean and maintained. The air in the lobby was crisp and seemed smoke free. The individuals we used to check into our room were very helpful and friendly. The areas regarding our dining experience could have been improved in wait times and the quality of the foods. Very high in sodium! Rooms were very adequate in room and could have used replacement coffee from one day to the next.We spent several hours at the pool side and had the need to rent umbrellas in order to safeguard ourselves from sunburn and melanoma. I’m thinking you could try making up the fees by selling swimming supplies, floates, disposable sunglasses, disposable flip flops, disposable sunglasses etc in replacement of renting umbrellas. Just an opinion?

Great hotel. It was a bummer that we couldn’t get to some of the floors because we were there for the tournament but I get why they do that. Chickies was great for food! DO NOT waste your money on the Buffet. It was absolutely terrible.

We needed a much needed break, and Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) provided it. Check in and check out were smooth, and our room was wonderful. We enjoyed fine food, did some gambling, and even caught up with a friend at Grand Cafe, which had yummy food!😋
