Floral Park Motor Lodge

The property and the neighborhood around it are very clean. On site there is plenty of free off-street parking. The lobby is very inviting and staff are very friendly. Even the manager took time to talk about my stay. The decor in the hallways, however, is a little harsh on the eyes and needs updating; as does the extremely Spartan decor in the rooms. My room had a huge hole in the wall where the door handle had obviously been hurtled into it. The floor was sticky under foot from whatever was used to clean it. Comfortable bed but shoddy pillows. Lots of positive “little things” like USB-B and USB-C ports in every one of the many, many power outlets. Free high-speed wi-fi was available. The only real turn-off besides the decor was the little roach who came to visit my second night there and turned up in the worst places (like the bathtub) and was impossible to catch. One other great thing: if you book directly with the hotel your nightly rate is better than anything you can find on the internet.

Parking is easy. Sign says park vehicle and its contents at your own risk but I haven't had a problem on the two occasions that we stayed there. The staff is very pleasant and friendly.

Very basic - non smart tv. Doesn’t even have a channel guide. Make sure you bring your laptop and have a hotspot because their WiFi is also terrible.
