My husband and I took visited NY for the first time. The Hyatt Grand Central was the best spot to stay because it’s near all of the major touring spots. It was a bit run down than what we expected, but we spent all day outside, so we were not too bothered by how run down it looked. My husband used the gym a couple of times and it had everything from free weights to treadmills. The staff was very friendly and not short with us which was great since it was our first time in the big city. I definitely recommend staying here especially if it’s your first time in NY. We hope to come back soon! Thank you for the staff and housekeeping for making our trip comfortable.

The resort fees are absurd for what they have as far as amenities . 39.99 a day for morning access to grand central isnt worth it. That is on top of the 100 dollars per day they hold on your card for incidentals. The connection to grand central is fabulous , however it was always locked when we tried to return and it wasnt even that late . The temperature never seemed to cool in the room . We thought it was because it was so hot outside until we saw the air filter which was covered in inches of dust and filth. The doormen were the only helpful employees . Ive had way better hospitality for sure. They will hold your bags for $5 per item. City view rooms are also not worth the extra charge .

People don't know valet is used for 3 hotels. Can take up to an hour to get or retrieve your car and still cost $90 a day. I had CONFIRMED reservations for 2 queen beds. Grandson going into military academy. When we arrived I was told they OVER BOOKED. WHAT IS POINT OF CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS? Had to put him on a rollaway. How disgusting. Shampoo/ conditioner were 1 ounce sizes. For price paid for room that was cheap. Holiday Inn provides better. I tried calling the hotel after landing at the airport for an hour ensuring of our reservation because of late arrival time and no one answered any of my attempts. I deserve a partial refund.

Destination fees are nonsense $40 bucks per day for literally nothing just fees. WIFI was the weakest internet ive ever experienced and breakfast was not included although im pretty sure that was advertised when i was booking. other than that its as basic as any other hotel. Its definitely not up to par with other Hyatts ive stayed in other parts of the world.

Great room in NY. The gym was very spacious and offered a variety of equipment. They give you $15 to spend in the hotel store. Valet parking was pretty expensive ($90 a night). The valet took a while to get our car and then expected a tip when he finally did get our keys to us. Other than that, it is a nice place.

The hotel lobby is modern with pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms are small but comfortable. However, the daily “credit” of $15 to $20 for purchases at the hotel market in lieu of a continental breakfast sounds good, but no credits were actually given on the check-out invoice and we were charged for all purchases. The repeated “Destination Fee” for every purchase at the hotel market of $39.99 ($120, separate from the purchases) is excessive and deceptive as this was not disclosed upon making purchases at the market. Would not recommend.

Homeless people sleeping outside the property. Access doors from Grand Central Station were locked everyday starting at 4pm. This property was incredibly expensive for the rooms There was no room service offered. We were allowed $15 per room per day in the market. (two bottles of water were $15.00) Would not recommend this property to anyone.

The front desk staff at the hotel is great and very accommodating. However, the overall condition of the hotel is quite dated and needs a refresh. The carpets, particularly in the lobby, are heavily stained, and the woodwork is all worn out. In our room, the wallpaper was peeling, and the paint on the bathroom ceiling was also flaking. They tend to nickel and dime guests for everything through their market. The amenities provided for soap, shampoo, and conditioner are very minimal. While there are brackets for dispensers in the shower, they only give you tiny bottles to use. Additionally, there are no water bottles or coffee service provided in the room; you have to get those yourself from the market. One evening, I visited the bar, where the music was excessively loud and inappropriate. We were disappointed with our stay at Hyatt Grand Central New York. The room was not as clean as expected, and the wall around the shower had visible mold. Lots of places are walking distance which is great but our room itself was dirty. The door handles on the nightstand was very dusty, meaning it had been a while since it had been cleaned. There was mold on the corners of the bathtub.

The floors were dirty and looked like someone’s dirty shoes walked all over it. The bathroom tub did not drain very well and the tub was also dirty. However the bed/sheets were clean and the lobby was also clean. Would suggest wearing house and shower shoes.

While it was a busy hotel, we were greeted fast and efficiently. Our room was a lil small. The bathroom was dated and had some mold around the floor and tub. It lacked towels and a floor mat so we had to request that upon arrival. The last night we had to get up early to catch a flight out. There was no running water in our room. Toilet wouldn’t flush and couldn’t shower. Has to wash my hair with a bottle of left over drinking water. When contacting desk they made an excused 10 other rooms were having the same issues and had to get maintenance up to fix. They did not compensate us anything for the room that night as promised as of this date.

Bed bugs and the air conditioning unit has been leaking forever so the room smells like a unit in the Caribbean musty and moldy. Butt woke up with bed bugs will have to wash everything before putting clothes away, bed bug bites everywhere. Smallest elevators too. No pool not a great stay. If you can afford it don’t stay here. Seriously pics are deceiving. Area is convenient but who cares. Parking next door in Vanderbilt building was convenient. 1 out of 5 stars

It's pretty chill and the lobby is nice but it's lowkey catfish. The room is musty, its smell like wet dog all day and its cold but its moist feeling. The bathroom is diabolical, there's a shelf over the sink that covers half the bowl and the shower products provided are made the perfect size for someone who has two strands of hair. The walls are dinged up and I can hear everything outside.

We are a family of four and stayed for a weekend. It's a good hotel if you plan on being out of the room most of the time. The rooms are small. We had a double bed. No storage for clothes. Only a small nightstand. The closet has maybe 6 hangers. The restroom is tiny and when 4 people shower the room gets hot. Also the a/c is locked and does not go lower than 65.

We stayed for 3 nights and the room was phenomenal. We had the corner suite and it was incredible to have a bedroom and living area. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the availability of charging ports was an extra plus as we have several electronics with us. We were literal steps from grand station to get anywhere in the city. Highly recommend!

This location was amazing for walking to all the sites. The person who checked us in was extremely sweet as well as the gentleman outside who asked to help us find a car or check on us when waiting - but the rest of the staff seemed annoyed when we asked anything - including check out. Th room was a nice layout but rough around the edges and could use some TLC. Overall we would stay again for the location.

Check in was horrible. The man checking us in did not say one word to us. Except to ask for our credit card. Didn’t tell us we needed to scan our card to get the elevator. Didn’t tell us where the elevators were. Didn’t say a word except I need your credit card. Not one other person that worked for the hotel acknowledged us. Maybe that’s just them being New Yorkers I’m from the West Coast and we say good morning and hello to everybody we meet.

Apparently people can walk in your mom when ever they like. 1st day, we were asleep and someone opened our door twice within 2 hours span. I went to complain and staff told me housekeeping was checking if someone had already taken the room. Really??? Couldn’t they check another way? And twice ?? Fast forward to the day before we leave. We come back to our room and noticed housekeeping had been in there and we realize one of our bags missing! To top it off it was my daughters items she had purchased with all her bday money. About $175.00 from Miniso. She was devastated to say te least. Again, spoke to someone and nothing has been done yet. All I keep hearing is that housekeeping doesn’t not remember taking it. I’m not sure how someone would not remember a huge black Harry Potter bag???? Then again… if she didn’t throw it away then who went it there ??? Or did the bag grow legs??? 🤔 I will update later.

Everything about this hotel was great! The management and staff stood out the most. Their customer service was top tier, really glad I chose to stay here! Also, it was in the middle of everything so we were able to get around easily.

New York is becoming more and more of a dump and this place sits next to Grand Central Station which has homeless people sitting everywhere and its filthy. This whole area needs a good power wash. Also, don't get the breakfast buffet here as it is way over priced for eggs and waffles.

This hotel its now on ny top 3 hotels in NYC. Very accessible location, literally right next to Grand Terminal Central. Very walkable to different tourist attractions (empire state, Library, Chrysler building just around the corner, Times Square, 5th Ave.) Even tho its on a very transitable avenue, noise wasn’t even a concern. We had also very walkable food options to have breakfast/dinner. Staff were very friendly and polite. Definitely recommend it.

Awesome location, just steps from Grand Central Station and right in the heart of Manhattan. The room was a bit dim in terms of lighting and colors, but we were out exploring New York most of the time anyway, so it was good enough for just resting. Nearby, there’s a little Japanese market called Osakana—they’ve got really tasty rice balls at great prices.

Great location for walking just about anywhere, or to nearby bus or subway. Food options at hotel are extremely overpriced and not worth it. Credit from the daily hotel fee of $15 toward food might get you a $12 yogurt parfait and a $3 banana. New York is expensive, but the snack shop was ridiculously overpriced. Room was good size for area.

Location is excellent, price is reasonable, but the room's bathroom needed an upgrade. The "market" store in the lobby is noticeably over-priced and not all of the staff gave a warm welcome. Morning buffet is simply too expensive to enjoy, unless you expect to pay $57 for it in advance.

I stayed on the 16th floor with access to the executive lounge. My room looked recently renovated and was very spacious. Nice clean design. The lounge had plenty of soft drinks and coffee selection, but the snack choices were limited. The resort fee for me included a $15 credit at the cafe/market in the lobby that had some nice selection - pricey without the credit.

We’ve stayed here before and let’s just say the quality has gone way downhill. We walked out of our Uber to find a homeless person laying at one of the entrances that we had to walk around. First of all, our room wasn’t ready at the 4:00 time of check in (we even walked around and gave them some extra time). I paid extra to have a room with a ‘city view’ which wound up being two slivers of windows that looked at the side of another building. The first night we were there, we saw a show and had noticed on the way out that the hotel sign said the restaurant and bar was ‘open until midnight serving drinks and small plates’. When we got back at 10:15, they said the kitchen was closed (this was on a Saturday night). My son and I had to settle for a sandwich that had been sitting out for who knows how long and a yogurt and grapes from the ‘market’. This was when I also found out they do not offer room service. We were starving the next morning to say the least. If we come back to NYC, I sadly, wouldn’t come here again. Way overpaid for our stay that was not what the pictures or previous memories depicted.
