We’ve stayed at park lane many times but not since the latest renovations were complete. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar Darling. My only complaint is that the fitness center is hot and there is only 1 elliptical machine. Our room was spacious and we had a view of Central Park.

Nice enough! The rooftop bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays so keep that in mind when booking your stay. The bellhops are wonderfully helpful and polite but the desk staff tend to have this hilarious superiority complex. I won't stay again only because there are so many great places to stay and staff hospitality is important. Wonderful views!

Great location and comfortable room except for air conditioning issues which apparently the property is aware of. They will offer a portable ac unit but then you cannot close the blinds in your room completely and it is still not actually cool. Also, the elevators are very slow and occasionally not working. We had to climb 21 flights of stairs after getting stuck in the elevator.

Location is great. Have stayed here probably 20 times but won't likely again. The elevators were not working. They supposedly have 6 but at times only 1 was in operation. After waiting for 20 minutes one morning, we had to climb down 13 flights of stairs which then put us in the basement and then had to go back up to the lobby by a different set of stairs. I complained a couple of times as it was a problem the whole weekend and no one did anything about it. This was Labor Day weekend and the hotel was full. They should not be taking elevators out of service on such a busy weekend. They also sent several emails advertising their roof bar Darling which my husband and I loved when we were there a few months ago. However, when we arrived, we found out it had been shut down for "issues" for quite some time according to staff. Why are the emails still advertising something that isn't there. I would not have been annoyed by that as much if everything else went smoothly.

Hotel was extremely packed, seemed like everyone in New York was staying there. The rooftop was was not only for guest, like mentioned online. People constantly in the lobby and the elevators took no less than 10 minutes every single use. The views were beautiful and the location was amazing. The staff could have been friendlier. We chose this hotel because of the location and rooftop bar, the location was the best for the price, just seemed very packed and overcrowded.

Park Lane New York is, quite literally, a poorly maintained budget hotel precariously planted in a high-riser facing Central Park property, and it shows. Old and dusty furniture, dirty and damp carpets, empty soap bottles in the bathroom… every corner whispers neglect. Specials for our stay was a broken air conditioner replaced by a Walmart tower fan, perched precariously on a short table and powered by a dangerously stretched cable: we nicknamed it Wally (Wally, if you read this, we miss your buzz!). Plus, for the woman of the house we had an ironing board with an iron already plugged in ready for us. My feminist wife felt it like a sarcastic touch from the staff. For the boldest travelers, the room also offers an array of mysterious stains and bodily-fluid patterns decorating the carpet and bedside furniture — true ornaments of the place. All of this for the modest price of over $1,000 per night, justified solely by a view of Central Park. That’s what we actually paid for: the view, not the stay in this tourist trap. Everything described is documented in photos. We arrived late at night and checked out the very next morning.

Poor room experience on the 42nd Floor. Cleanliness of the room was poor: bathroom smelt like urine, bizarre wet spot on the carpet in the middle of the room, rug poorly vacuumed. Broken amenities: black-out blinds were off the track and made a terrible noise when opening/closing. AC unit was extremely loud - rattling heard constantly. The room was the furthest thing from quiet - when other hotel room doors closed, this unit rattled. There are far better hotels in the area available at this price point.

Was very excited to stay here. When you first walk in the lobby was very nice we checked in with easy got to our room. But the first thing we noticed was dirty carpets an stained furniture. For the cost of this hotel I expect much better cleanliness was definitely not a priority here.

The heater was broken in the room - it would turn on and off with a large groan about every 20 minutes. Except for the sheets, the rest of the room was disgusting and it was too late by the time I got there for them to have me change rooms. They assured me that they would the next day give me a better room - when I went into that room, the faucet and the shower could not be turned on - the faucet was broken. The rooms are disgusting dirty, and wallpaper is peeling off. There is clear signs of water damage and paint peeling around the sink. It’s really disgusting. It was advertised as a four-star hotel, but if I could give zero stars and still leave a review, it would be a negative number.

We stayed at Park Lane for 2 nights. The staff, front desk, and mechanics were very friendly. As soon as we stepped into the room, we felt it was too hot. The temperature setting was 66, and the room temperature was 78. The facility staff brought a fan and also checked the air conditioner, but the situation did not get better. We kept the temperature at 66 for 3 days, and the room finally reached 75. We attempted to contact the manager at least five times, but they never called us back. Additionally, we observed one used contact lens on the side table and another on the carpet. I wonder if they vacuumed the floor or wiped the tables.. The sheets were nice though...

The stuff was really nice. Rooms are very old and very not clean. We found someone’s hair and personal stuff from previous people that stayed there. Every time you need an elevator - be ready to wait for 10 minutes minimum.

Everything was terrible. The shower flooded the floor. The sink didn’t drain. I called multiple times and the manager never even called back. I didn’t any help until the last day. We didn’t have towels bcuz we had to use them to cover the flooded floor. Expensive extra daily resort fee but this isn’t any resort. There is a lobby and rooms. I saw zero amenities. No amenities or compensation was offered. There was a dirty toothbrush in our room from the previous guest. There was a gross dirty spot on the floor than we requested house keeping to clean but it never happened. I think the hotel should be renamed the smoke and mirrors hotel. Everything is fake. They pretend to be fancy but You would have a much better experience at a holiday inn.

The cleanliness of the hotel is definitely not on par for a 4-star hotel. Washrooms had finger prints on the wall, water stains on the toilet, dirt on the shower wall and toilet paper on the shower head. It's rather disgusting condition and no where close to being clean. The hotel facility is also old, the washroom ceiling vent was leaking and hot water did not work in the shower. No one tried to speak to me about the situation and the staff are just very passive. One of the worst experience i've had in New York.

Clean room. Helpful staff, especially the concierge. Some venues were closed. We booked a city view room and asked for a quiet location. Unfortunately, we were placed immediately adjacent to the elevator (which we heard constantly) and only on the 27th out of 46 floors which gave us a view only into the buildings directly across from our room. Not worth the cost! By the time we realized the noise we were hearing was coming from the elevator, we were halfway through our stay and it would have been inconvenient to request another room.

We came to stay from NCand wanted to see the park so paid for a park view. 2 of the 4 days you couldn’t even see outside due to frosting of the windows. This unfortunately made out room worth only as much as a non park view. They need to update to newer windows or refi d when they can’t deliver on what they are selling.

We where there for 8 nights. Couldn't unpack our suitcases. 6 very small drawers 3 in the closet and 3 in a dresser. Small refrigerator held 4 water bottles. 6 hangers in closet. Just a horrible stay never again.

We found the deep teal colour of the room to be very dark. Our previous stays before the renovation had us in a pleasant light room which creates a good illusion of space. The room lighting was not sufficient and the headboard was the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. With it being only a foot higher than the bed it constantly cuts into the back of your neck if you are sitting up on the bed.

The valet staff were very helpful and kind. They were always helpful and pleasant when we went out and when we returned. There was also a café and bar on the ground floor which was very convenient and delicious.The staffs were very friendly. It was clean and well cleaned every day.

The shower was clogged, and we had to stand in a few inches of water while showering. The AC unit was not working, and when it finally started working again, it was extremely loud. When I informed the concierge at checkout, she gave me an attitude. I wasn't even trying to get anything for free.… completely unnecessary.

As an Expedia VIP you’re supposed to get benefits but I rarely do. Not sure this program works very well, or hotels like the Park Lane just ignore this. The hotel was fine, the room was fine… I couldn’t get the room temperature below 76 degrees so it was unbearably hot even though the A/C was on. The front desk said to open a window, the A/C isn’t on during this time of year even though it was muggy outside. Despite using the Do Not Disturb sign outside the door, housekeeping knocked on the door at 8am. When I didn’t answer they called. I couldn’t understand the person on the phone with a thick accent saying I requested something. Couldn’t make it out. I checked in at midnight and didn’t get to sleep until 3am, so this was completely unwelcome. Even though I told them I requested nothing they called again 10-minutes later and this time the person was understandable and said I requested an ironing board and iron. I did no such thing, but thanks for the early morning annoyance and trying three times. Otherwise everything was fine, most of the staff were helpful and very nice. Good location.

One of best location and THE most arrogant and rude front desk staff in NY. Great location, recently renovated but unfortunately Front Desk employees make all efforts to treat you as bad as possible. Sorry that Edita has no longer works there anymore. Current Front Desk staff should copy her and how she turns guest in friends. Even hotel has lost a package of mine Fred (Security Manager) and Lubdia (Chief of Concierge) are great and totally different from arrogant Front Desk team. I'm guest of PLNY for more than 20 years but now I probably won't return there anymore. Owners be concerned that hotel is loosing guests and maybe you're not seeing this happens. More than a great location guests want to be treat like regular person. Loosing customers is easy/fast but recovering them is hard.

Breakfast was great, service at breakfast excellent, however room Was quite dated and description and pics didn't match the actual. Very high price for what was provided, no coffee in the room, had to pay additional For that. Ridiculous! 35 dollars to get a coffee machine in the room. Communicstion was poor to via email. Received a ‘cant wait to see you’ But when i responded with a few requests like an early check in because travelling with you g kids the whole day, received no reply.

Fantastic hotel, great location, great view on Central Park, staff is very nice and very helpful, good breakfast with great view on the last floor but very expensive (USD 75 per head). Shame there is no buffet breakfast on the second floor (option for takeaway breakfast downstairs but we ended up going to Astro, 2 blocks away on 6av/56st). Bathroom needed a refresher, ceiling paint was going off in some places.

The Park Lane is excellent overall. A great location, hotel is well presented and photos of the property do not do it justice - the Darling rooftop area, 2nd floor restaurant and Rose Lane bar are all great with lovely and attentive staff who really look after guests and provide great service. The room was great, much larger than expected and with amazing views over Central Park. However, the air conditioning did not work at all in our room and no matter the outside temperature the the room was very hot and uncomfortable despite the hotel providing fans to help cool the room - various explanations were given by staff, none of which really made sense, but tbh at this price point I just really expect the AC to work and not to be hot and sweaty in my hotel room. I stayed in late April/early May and can only imagine how hot it gets during summer. Lifts were a bit slow but not too bad. Overall I enjoyed the Park Lane, we did a bit of light celeb spotting in the lobby and bar, we loved the staff, the overall vibe and would definitely stay again if we could be assured that air con issues were fixed.

We were supposed to get buffet breakfast at the rooftop Darling bar as part of our reservation. We were informed breakfast hours ended at 11:30am and when we arrived at 10:55am ,the waiters said:” we ran out of food and coffee so there is nothing to eat here “. Very chaotic. Lots of guests grumbling and unhappy.

Excellent location for restaurants, shopping, theatre, and Central Park walks. Super comfortable bed and linens - fabulous nights' sleep in very quiet rooms. We'd booked the hotel specifically to enjoy the rooftop lounge, which we discovered was closed only when we tried to access it the first night of our stay; no explanation was given, and the rooftop remained closed, despite being promoted in the (very slow) elevators. The other hotel lounge options are rather antiseptic and unappealing.

Have stayed at the Park Lane many times; this was the first since renovations. As a solo traveler the night club feel of the roof top bar wasn’t for me, but the first and second floor restaurants are still great. The staff in the second floor restaurant and the front desk were wonderful. Renovations aren’t worth the price increase. Can’t beat the location - the park, subway, theater district, great restaurants all just outside the door.

Very nice bed and linens. 17th floor, so fairly quiet except early morning with trash trucks as normal for NY. No coffee maker, tea or mini-bar in room which was surprising. Top floor view was spectacular.

Our stay was perfect for what we needed, as we had a show and dinner nearby. Room was comfy, large by NYC standards. Missed having coffee in the room. Found hotel dining to be lacking, either a basic bar area or the rooftop facility, which was difficult to access in the evening and ridiculously expensive for breakfast. Fortunately there are plenty of options nearby.
