Hotel Lucerne

No USB ports on the lamps or by the beds. No Microwaves or small fridge. Ice machine is only on second floor instead of every floor As most hotels. Elevator is scary. Needs updating or lower the prices!

Nice clean hotel. Rooms were dated but simple and clean. The gym was extra smelly and the AC probably needs better filters or cleaning

We had an excellent stay at The Lucerne! The staff was wonderful, our room was spotless, comfortable, and in a perfect location. I especially appreciated that the Peloton bikes were updated and ready to ride—something I don’t often find when traveling. Thank you for making everything so enjoyable. A truly great stay!

staff was very nice, and let us check in early without making it a big deal at all. great experience, would recommend to anyone looking for a place on the UWS - though pricey. gym was decent, treadmills and weights - no rowing machine though.

The hotel needs current chargers for tech, a microwave and a small fridge for the price. Even Best Western has this. And the elevators are slow and need updating for the price.

Beautiful historic beaux arts bldg on upper west side. Lots nearby for dining options, close to Central Park, MET, Madison Ave shopping. Good staff. Be prepared for no in room refrigerator or microwave. Lots of easy food options nearby

Incredible location and I love Nice Matin, the restaurant on prem

I am writing this review to help others who may be fooled by the positive reviews. Not sure how that is even possible. First, if you are driving to New York, stop now and move on. Do not book this hotel. They do not have valet and they do not have self park. They will send you to some nearby garages that will turn you away stating they are full or your car is too big. After an hour of trying to find a garage after check-in I finally found one for 100 per night 6 blocks from the hotel. After that awful experience of trying of find parking on the upper west side, I arrived to the room and found a wet urine stain on the bed. Their solution to this was a fresh bed spread. We demanded a new room. After finally getting settled in a dim, ugly, outdated room we soon realized the heat did not work in the small sitting room. We decided to "suck it up', not wanting to deal with them anymore. Day 2 the heat stopped working in the bedroom. The temps dropped to 64 degrees in our room. We were checking out the next day so we dressed warm and went to bed. After telling the front desk about all of the issues, two days of no heat, no guaranteed parking and a recent urine stain on our bed, they gave me $100 discount. Not nearly enough for the awful conditions. It was an awful hotel. Old ugly furniture, dark, Zero hospitality, If dark dim ugly outdated hotels with no customer service are your thing you may like this hotel. Heard others at the front desk as well with no heat.

Was a beautiful hotel in a great location. We were surprised to get a two room suite that was clean and comfortable. Our reservation included breakfast at an adjacent restaurant, which we enjoyed. Highly recommend and we will plan to return for another stay. So happy with our choice. No complaints! Only comment is to be aware that hotel doesn’t have parking.

My room smelled musty and I wish I had complained about it early on but the hotel was totally booked so I didn't think they could do anything but they said they would have done something. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

This hotel was lovely! Beautiful classic architecture and style hotel a couple blocks from the park and one block (79th station) from the subway- so you can get to anywhere in NYc quickly. The staff was kind and helpful- we arrived early than check in and they were happy to out our name on the waitlist to check in as soon as our room was available. They allowed us to keep our bags without a fee, so we can begin exploring. The room was clean and a great size, and truly just an overall lovely stay. Would highly recommend and we would stay again! Thank you Hotel Lucerne!

Wonderful Manhattan location. Lots of shops , eateries and bars. Handy for Central Park and Natural History Museum. Good sized room, helpful staff, spotlessly clean. Not quite a four-star but well above three-star. Nice Matin is a lovely French dining experience.

Pleasant ambience, friendly staff, excellent housekeeping.

The bed sheets didn’t seem to be too clean. In general, the room doesn’t look very clean. I like the the the hotel. I like the location. The people who works there are very courteous and polite. It just feels a little unclear. Frankly, I will think twice before I stay in this hotel again. No disrespect. Thank you.

Room stank of cigarettes and nicotine, the full carpets were sticky and dirty to walk on, the AC sounded like a diesel truck and couldn't be used when sleeping... really poor experience for the price.

Pleasantly surprised. Excellent and friendly staff from the doorman, front desk and housekeeping. Room was very clean and comfortable and the neighborhood is perfect. Breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was a nice plus. This will be my permanent go to when I'm visiting NY.

Great location in a very historic and nicely renovated building. Smaller but comfortable rooms with top quality bedding and towels. Adjoining is the Nice Matin restaurant - top notch for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition, all kinds of dining, coffee and cocktail opportunities with 2 blocks, and we felt comfortable on the street, although we were generally back at the hotel by 10:00. The neighborhood is vibrant and busy - and very normal. Subway just a block away to go afield, and lots of Uber available for alternate travel. Walking distance to Museum of Natural History, Central Park, and even the Met Museum.

The hotel was lovely. Great location, spacious rooms for NYC, wonderful, friendly service and excellent beds and linens.

The room was a bit small including the bathroom. The walls are thin and we could hear conversations of the people next to us as they were talking at normal levels.

Comfortably spacious quiet room.

Bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on. The long pillows and vigorous AC were much appreciated. Fixtures were all refreshingly old-fashioned (a tub with stationary shower head!) but in excellent condition. In-room coffee makers and free housekeeping are endangered species in NYC hotels, so I was delighted to find them here! If you miss the way hotels "used to be" you owe it to yourself to stay here! Location was also perfect, for either theaters or museums, and only steps away from many excellent restaurants.

The queen suite was nice and large. The additional room was much bigger than I anticipated. The staff was nice and chill and it is in a great location. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend paying a little extra for the double queen suite… You get a refrigerator and a little sitting room with two chairs and a desk and a TV and a window and a door that you could close to do extra work or have a private phone conversation, etc.

Noisy, small rooms that need to be modernized. Difficult to manage climate controls. Not sure I'd stay here aging, though location is amazing.

From the gentleman opening the doors, to the front desk staff to housekeeping- the Lucerne staff are warm, welcoming and professional. Incredibly comfortable bags and attentive service keeps me coming back and recommending them to anyone visiting the city.

The hotel was clean, quiet and easy to get to on public transportation. However, I was very disappointed that when I arrived after midnight as I called and said I would be, the bellman told me that the night mgr had gone to get dinner and I would have to wait for him to come back to check me in. Please understand it is now 2:30am. The night mgr returned about 10 mins later and asked for my ID and credit with no apology. I appreciate that it may not be typical for guest to arrive at 2:30am but I do expect an apology when I have to wait to check in despite the time of day. This small courtesy would have gone a long way at 2;30an following flight delays and detours.

My only notes, is the morning of my departure. I went down to the front desk to check out, the door man immediately grab my bag and asked where im headed. I said the airport. He just loaded the luggage and tell the driver to take me. But it's not a complimentary service, is $82. I could have booked a Lyft for cheaper. I was planning on taking the subway and bus to save $. Not shove into a car service with no explanation.

A great location in the upper west side. We found it to be quiet by New York standards with the occasional siren on the street below. Conveniently near many coffee shops and a good market for a quick breakfast or snack. Only a few blocks from a subway stop, Central Park, and the Museum of Natural History. Very walkable area and we appreciated having a doorman greet us at whatever time day or night we arrived back from a busy day in NYC!

Excellent location on the Upper West Side. Close to 1 Line subway station, Museum of Natural History, Central Park. Beds are very comfortable. Highly recommend and will return again.

Fabulous location to restaurants, trains, and Central Park

The location is surrounded by restaurants with convenient hours, within easy walking distance. It's a 10-minute walk to the Museum of Natural History/Central park, just a 5 minute walk to the 79th St Subway on the red line. It took us about 30-40 mins by metro transit to get downtown to meetings--a fraction of the time it would have taken by car, and a fraction of the cost.

Perfect for our event at The Beacon Theater, just a few minutes walk and in a beautiful area of the city

Cafe Matin was well worth the stay. Room service was fast. The staff were exceptional.

My new fav in nyc. Location is great for visiting museum mile with crosstown bus stop steps from the front door and the subway in the next block to travel up or downtown, or to and from Penn Station. Excellent restaurant Nice Matin on site and a 15% discount for breakfast and afternoon Apero (happy hr) featuring generous complimentary hors d'oeuvres.

Welcoming staff, beautiful lobby and world’s greatest location. Rooms are a good size, beds very comfortable, bathrooms clean and functional. Amazing restaurant “Nice Matins” attached to hotel -serves breakfast, lunch, dinner. Highly recommend this hotel!!

The staff is fantastic. Unfortunately Nice Matin the adjoining restaurant was closed during my stay. It's my favorite spot to start my day when visiting NY. Kitty corner a bagel and coffee shop worked out.

Great location! 1 block from the subway, a few blocks from Central Park. MANY great dining options. The bagel shop diagonal from The Lucern was great. Class Salvo for cappuccino and a cornetto (just like Italy). Jacob’s Pickles amazing southern breakfast/brunch. Maman for coffee and goodies. The Wolfe for a great happy hour, even 11pm till closing, kitchen closes at 11. So many dining options! The Lucern is an older property with great architecture you can’t go wrong. If I go back I will stay here again.
