This was in a great location for seeing broadway shows, Central Park, and shopping. It was in pretty good shape (slightly broken toilet seat and a stain on the couch, but nothing terrible). Beds were comfortable. The lobby is on a higher floor, which was slightly inconvenient, as the elevators were busy all of the time. In addition, there was a lobby event happening one night of our stay, so there was a long line for the elevator, and we ended up needing to take a service elevator to get up. Unfortunately, the bar and lobby were closed during this time, but we had not been informed in advance. This hotel was still good value for the money, and I would likely consider staying again.

I had a fabulous time celebrating my birthday with a staycation at M Social last month! The room was spotless, quiet, and offered a beautiful view of the city, which was exactly what I needed. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and made my birthday feel special by sending up complimentary (still and sparkling) water, plus a slice of cheesecake, which was delicious😋. The bar and lounge area, located on the lobby level, had a lively and upbeat vibe with a live DJ both nights I was there. The drinks were strong, the atmosphere was fun, and it really made the evenings feel like an ongoing celebration when coming back from my activities. Overall, M Social was the perfect place for a relaxing and memorable NYC staycation. Really can’t get a better location, but the elevator issues are a real problem. If you were trying to come down the elevator between 9 AM and 11 AM, it’s pointless. We ended up having to have a staff member bring us down the staff elevator because we stood there for 30 minutes on two separate days and no elevator ever arrived.

The M Social met our expectations. We were lucky to have a great view of Times Square and a nice high floor room. The reception staff were lovely, really positive experience on check in. The only black mark was on our last day when we were asked to leave the outside bar area due to a private corporate event. Treating residents as second class citizens is a complete no-no and has probably put us off coming back. Maybe you should rethink this policy?

Rooms are nice, clean but bathroom was a little on the small side. Elevators can be a challenge seeing how you have to take two different ones. One elevator from street to lobby and lobby to rooms. Can get very backed up. Rooftop bar has amazing views.

Convenient location! Walking distance to subway, great options for food. Disliked the elevator. Only 2 elevators to get to main lobby. One elevator was down; terrible line up to get onto elevator. Also elevators to access floors- not all functioning! Long wait times, especially during check out!

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in NYC, yes, it is more pricey than other offerings but rooms were a lot more spacious, it’s in a great location and amenities such as the gym and roof top terrace were great!

We reported to Expedia and the hotel direct that there was mold and brown water coming out of the drains in our room. Not sure why this was but they told us it was a building issue and they couldn't do anything about it for us. If this issue didn't exist, it would have been a decent stay.

The location of the property was amazing! We could see time square from our window, room 1502. The issue was the room was not very clean. The box spring cover looked like someone peed all over it, had a huge stain. There was hair in the shower and on the restroom floor too. For the price of this room, I would expect better. We did have an elevator that went down leaving only 1 elevator to get from the street level to the lobby. They did find a work around and opened an employee elevator and they were escorting people back and forth so that was helpful. All the workers were nice and helpful! All in all, I probably would not stay here again due to the cleanliness vs cost. If I am paying this much for a room it needs to be clean!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We opted for breakfast with our stay and it was worth it. Breakfast with a view of Times Square was wonderful! Our room was clean. The entire place was very social and inviting. Great location for our daily itinerary.

Great location and excellent staff. Breakfast was chaotic . Wanted to get a coffee two days in a row but couldnt get served so went to the cafe around the corner which was excellent. Need to clean the windows as it was difficult to take photos of times square from the room.

Room was not totally clean along with bathroom and the room temperature was very high with the aircon not cooling it down sufficiently meaning we had to open the window at times letting the noise and bustle from outside in which was not pleasant at night time.

Walkable distance to Times Square, generally clean hotel, but the service sucks. No complementary bottles available, there is Ice machine with filtered water which was out of water most of the time. Towels replaced with a dirty ones with stains. Breakfast! We preferred to have our breakfast outside of hotels despite breakfast was included in our reservation.

I would not recommend- the description doesn’t mention about 2 elevators to actually get into the building that get super crowded everyday and there is a 30 min wait just to get in. The concierge didn’t have any information about tours. I also needed to be about 5 floors higher to actually have a Hudson River view. There were stains left on my bathroom sink that I cleaned myself… so many small things added up to not create a good experience

Great location in Times Square. Very walkable to everything. Staff nice and professional. Check in and out easy. We had drink credits from our booking which they removed at the end of the stay. Rooms are quite large considering NYC and location. Room clean, in room safe available. Nice size work table as well as couch that another person can sleep on. Bathroom decent size. There are fillable water stations (and ice) in the hallway by the elevator. In the lobby is a bar and restaurant nearby with seating outside which they called a rooftop bar with great views of Times Square. Only downside is there is a separate elevator from street level to lobby, then you have to take another elevator down the hall to your room which basically wastes a lot of time.

Solid experience. The AC in the room did not seem to respond to requests to cool down to 67. Bed was ok, pillows were great. Very quiet. Reasonable price and great location. Had the room with views of the Hudson, and it was accurate. Good value.

Stayed in room 2004, amazing views of times square, only 2 negatives the lighting in the room could be better, at timesi had to put the torch on my phone to look into my suitcase, defo needs a light above the mirror and 2 not all plug sockets worked, think only 2 in the entire room, didnt mention it as were only there for 2nights & managed with the 2.

Ive stayed in this hotel 4 times and July 17-20 was my last time !!!! DO not stay in this hotel BEWARE OF a $500 scam they are doing charging people of a “smoking fee”. Saturday night I went out with my mom came back home and decided to blow dry my hair soon after I got a letter under my door saying I been charged a $500 Smoking fee and the smoke detectors sensed someone was smoking inside the room !!! Me nor my mother have ever smoked our entire lives!! I was in complete shock they would do this after going online I’ve came across many other complaints about this same fee !!!! Such a shame I will not be staying at this hotel ever again !!

I liked that the rooms were bigger, what i did not like is that the properly was not aware that our breakfast was prepaid during our booking with expedia...i had to show them my confirmation which included breakfast in order for them to take it off of my bill. They were not showing that I prepaid in their system. We also had a $62 drink credit and that wasn't showing in their system either...they had added the drinks and breakfast to my final bill, so i had to show them the confirmation with the drink credit including breakfast so that they could take the charges off...There is definitely a disconnect between the hotel and expedia.

Do ***NOT*** stay at this property. First, the elevator was broken; created a line out their door to the street to get in. Second, the print out of my bill showed a credit from my deposit BUT they charged more than the entire bill to my credit card!! BEWARE of their “smoking fee” SCAM!!! No one in my room ever smokes but they “claim” that we smoked in our room, which is totally false. They would not waive the fee and require me to dispute the charge with my credit card company. After my stay, I’ve seen several online reviews stating the same issue. Their balcony stank of marijuana more than once! Worst customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel!!! Will not stay again. Do ***NOT*** stay at this property. First, the elevator was broken; created a line out their door to the street to get in. Second, the print out of my bill showed a credit from my deposit BUT they charged more than the entire bill to my credit card!! BEWARE of their “smoking fee” SCAM!!! No one in my room ever smokes but they “claim” that we smoked in our room, which is totally false. They would not waive the fee and require me to dispute the charge with my credit card company. After my stay, I’ve seen several online reviews stating the same issue. Their balcony stank of marijuana more than once! Worst customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel!!! Will not stay again. Highly recommend you do not make the same mistake I did.

When you walk in on the basement level, you don’t realize that you are coming in to where the bellhops are. They somewhat rudely instructed us to go up a level to the main lobby. Though helpful, they aren’t the most friendly and inviting. The staff at the check-in desks were very kind and accommodating. One frustration I do have about the hotel is that every time we went to leave we had to go down an elevator and there’s only two sets of elevators so there were a lot of people waiting every time we went to go somewhere

I’ve stayed near Times Square a lot and this is hands down my favorite hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were good, the elevators were fast and not overcrowded and the rooms were just wanted you needed. Special thanks to Victor and the other staff at the bar/lounge. They were fantastic!!!! I would definitely stay here again.

M Social in New York used to be my go-to hotel every time I visited Manhattan, but this last stay was a major disappointment. It was obvious the staff had changed in the past nine months. In the past, there was always someone welcoming guests at the front drop-off, but this time the arrival was cold and unwelcoming. No greeting, no assistance, and my kids and I had to unload our own vehicle without any help from the bellmen. The check-in experience was just as impersonal. Rather than acknowledging me as a returning guest, the front desk clerk seemed more concerned with pointing out that there’s a fee for early check-in — which I was fine with paying — but the tone felt dismissive and surprising. On top of that, the property itself is showing wear. The bathrooms, once sleek, are now looking beat up: the dark wood is worn, and the bathroom tiles have noticeable black buildup between them. Overall, what used to feel like a warm, stylish, and dependable place now feels indifferent and neglected. Sadly, this will likely be my last stay at M Social.

Great stay at a very friendly place. Great location near times square, Carnegie hall, and theatres. Loved the staff, the bar, and the food. We were treated very well by everyone. The fragrance free hypoallergenic rooms towels and bedding was a huge plus for us. We will be back!

Convenient location. Far enough from Time square to avoid the crowds, but close enough to walk. Close theaters, and close enough to central park that itis a short walk. Close to subway which gets anywhere.

Wow! The location was ideal for Broadway Shows. M Social is one block from Wicked, Great Gatsby, Stephen Colbert, and Stardust Diner. However, they're not resting on a fortunate location. This was in a great location for seeing broadway shows, Central Park, and shopping. It was in pretty good shape (slightly broken toilet seat and a stain on the couch, but nothing terrible). Beds were comfortable. The lobby is on a higher floor, which was slightly inconvenient, as the elevators were busy all of the time. In addition, there was a lobby event happening one night of our stay, so there was a long line for the elevator, and we ended up needing to take a service elevator to get up. Unfortunately, the bar and lobby were closed during this time, but we had not been informed in advance. This hotel was still good value for the money, and I would likely consider staying again.

We stayed here to go to a show at the August Wilson theater. The theater is just a few steps away. It was perfect. There are a few other theaters less than a block away as well. We had drinks and appetizers in the bar. The view of Times Square from the bar was amazing.

It was an ok place to stay if you like slow and long lined elevators. Dont splurge for the breakfast its nothing more than your standard crappy hotel breakfast, your basically paying for a seat and a view. You also have to wait in line to be seated for breakfast which could take a while. The outdoor balconies were closed most of the 5 days we were there. All in all it was ok.

Dusty and not clean. We found a bug on our Caesar salad at the restaurant downstairs. We lease, do not eat here!!! Bathroom was not clean and tub had hair. Horrible place to stay in New York. Never again!

Hotel room was clean but not spotlessly clean. After a day of sightseeing it’s nice to get back to the hotel and have a drink at the bar and unwind however because the bar is open to the public this can mean that you’re in for a lengthy wait to be served. Would love the hotel to review how people actually staying at the hotel can be served quicker.

I really enjoyed my stay. It was quiet the service was good. I was really impressed by how good the food was at the restaurant as well as room service. Housekeeping staff were friendly and attentive. Really liked the contactless check out. I would stay here again.

Great stay at M Social. We had a nice room with a beautiful view towards the Hudson River. Quiet despite the central location. The staff were friendly, and the shared areas had good facilities and a pleasant atmosphere. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, so we can’t comment on that.
