Main reason to stay here is location location location. It is between 5th and 6th avenues Close to food restaurants and shopping. Also close to bus and subway Big negatives are no coffee/tea and refrigerator in rooms. Have to pay extra for refrigerator. However there is mini shop in lobby One of the 2 elevators wasn’t working when we were there so there was a lot of waiting during peak hours

Elevators were very small, fits 4 people max without luggage and only one Elevator of the total two were actually working during our entire stay. Our key cards stopped working on our third day which was inconvenient due to the long wait times for the Elevator from the 9th floor. Room furnature was very dated and overly used.

With a bit of TLC the property could become a 5-star stay. The good: Location is fantastic for Fifth Ave shopping, Rockefeller Center and Central Park. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff were excellent - apologetic for elevator inconvenience and offered to bring our bags down.They knew the neighborhood well and had great dining suggestions. The needs improvement: Two elevators - one not operating during the entirety of our stay and the other out for half a day. Luckily we were on the third floor, so not too bad walking up and down. Treadmill out of order. Shower water luke warm. Terrible wifi that, when it was working, was very slow. If I have to stay in that area of town again, may give them another try to see if things have improved because the potential is there.

I was pleasantly surprised by the renovation having known the previous hotel. I liked the updates, bright blue and white decor. Especially appreciated the rower in the fitness center.

This was way below average. The room was small and not as depicted in photos. The soap and shampoo was left in the trash can on the desk, the towels were left in a pile on the dresser. The floor and carpets seemed worn and needing replacement. It wasn't the worst I've ever stayed, it within the bottom three! I would not go back!

This hotel needs an overhaul. My room was dingy with dirty carpet and scuff marks on all walls. A depressing color scheme where a coat of paint would have made a difference. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very good, although the fan in the bathroom didn’t work.

Unfortunately, this was not a good day. The rooms were horrible. They were gross and dirty, furniture missing from the lounging area. The bathrooms were so small. The sink smaller than when you would find in an airplane . There was no place to park to unload, although on your hotels.com site they offer parking they did not have parking to offer only one elevated worked and it was so small. I could barely get in it place was filthy dirty walking to my room will always smell like urine. There was no place to put your things in the room the air conditioner although we had it set at 63 it was probably 80° in the room because it wouldn’t work. They said they were gonna send somebody up to fix it never did. . The blinds in the room were all torn up and ripped and there were no curtains . Honestly could not wait to leave. The people that work at the counter, checking you in and out were very nice. There was much that they could do. Unfortunately, the pictures that they show online are not the shame completely deceiving .

I choice the hotel for the location, 5 minutes to Central Park. The room was very dirty. The floor( carpeting) was disguasting, i keep my socks on the whole time. The carpet was wet when i arrived so they try to clean. The wall was full of dust and thats not a favourite when you got astma. The hotel are under renovation but leave a room like this , big no no

My stay at the Shoreham Hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was old, musty, and poorly maintained. The carpet was worn and stained, the AC didn’t work at all, and the entire room felt damp and uncomfortable. There was even visible mold in the showers and the sheets were clearly not clean, which was very concerning. On top of that, there was no “Do Not Disturb” sign, and the cleaning staff barged into my room early in the morning without knocking. This was incredibly intrusive and unacceptable. Overall, this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. I would not recommend staying here, especially considering the price point and I will never be staying there. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in New York.

Great location. Property needs some love (Bose sound system that only plays CD's, toilet seat wouldn't stay up (bad counter install), terrible analog TV, misleading 1st photo on website (no wine on the roof unless you rent the penthouse)). But, friendly staff, and you can't beat the location!

Great location, helpful staff; room was clean, small but adequate, though view out the small, cloudy window was of brick walls. Lots of places for a quick bite just down the block. My biggest disappointment was no coffee maker in the room, which just seems like Hospitality 101 to me. Still, a good alternative to pricier alternatives in the area. I'd recommend.

Property was better than expected. I had a Penthouse King suite. The room was very spacious and everything was clean. There was no odor in my room, I’m only pointing this out because some reviews said there was cigarette smoke in the rooms. Only down side to me was that the bed was uncomfortable but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Not a bad stay! A handful of outlets didn’t work and the TV wasn’t working either, but it had great AC and the bed was comfortable. Decent place to lay your head. Only a few blocks away from Central Park as well.

Great price for great location. Rooms are tiny but this is ideal for a stay in NYC in which you are out in the city all day. It would be nice if the bathroom doors shut. Neither the magnets in my room or my daughter’s room closed. Awkward….

Hotel is in a great location and very quiet considering it’s in the heart of midtown. The rooms are super tiny with hardly any room around the bed. No coffee maker or fridge. There isn’t even enough space to use a proper ironing board…and they should replace the old school thermostats as they are hard to regulate. Bathroom a decent size and the water pressure amazing. Room was clean and bedding great. Staff was super lovely. It all depends on what you are looking for. The room was just too tiny for me.

What a terrific location! The Peninsula Hotel is just across the street (and at least 4X the cost) but this hotel has everything I need to enjoy a short getaway in the city. The price for a junior suite was very reasonable and it gave me a bedroom and sitting area and ample sized bathroom. One of my best stays in NYC ever!

Just got back from being there three nights on my own, I felt extremely safe, absolutely love the location. So walkable to everything I wanted to do, especially The Theaters. My first room, the air cooling was not working. I went downstairs and they moved me immediately. My other room was absolutely perfect! I will stay here again for sure and highly recommend it for the money. Thank you.

From the moment we arrived, things began to go wrong. The elevator was not working, which made getting to our room extremely difficult. Once inside, we found the bedding stained with what appeared to be blood, and the room had an unpleasant odor. We were moved to another room, but the Wi-Fi never worked, making it impossible to stay connected or complete any online tasks. To make matters worse, there was a disturbance on our floor, including a physical altercation that escalated to a woman banging on our door. I immediately called the front desk for help and requested that they contact the police, but no action was taken. This was not only disturbing and unacceptable, but it also made us feel extremely unsafe. I requested a refund due to these serious issues, and was only given an email contact—no resolution or follow-up has been provided since. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I urge you to take this complaint seriously. I would appreciate a timely response and a full refund given the unacceptable conditions and lack of safety we encountered.

It is in a good location. It is what you get for the price. The front desk doesn't communicate well with room service and is also not friendly. I had my door opened with a "Don't disturb" sign, and only one elevator was working. I wouldn't go back.

Much better than I thought it would be. Elevators ran (they are tiny), they kindly comped a frig, staff was always helpful. The fellow who ran the stand was helpful and generous. The reviews had me scared and so I called to check. They assured me they were working but when I explained my 92 year old mother was coming, they also put us on the 3rd floor just to reassure us, and threw in the refrigerator. Our bathroom was spotless and huge with a shower and a tub with jacuzzi. The white olive restaurant next door was one of the best meals we had in New York City, and we grabbed milk shakes at the 5guys next to that a few times. There is a Pret a Manger at the end of the block, and across the Ave of the Americas a Le Pain Quotidien. And a small deli that turns out to be a complete grocery store. going the other way a block and 1/2 you catch a M bus to the Met, the Neue Gallery (go to the cafe - so good the locals eat there!) and the Frick. Of course MoMa is a block from the hotel. I am recommending it to all my friends. Inexpensive (for NYC), Roomy (for NYC), Clean, great towels, pillows, and sheets. It was in the mid 90's when we were there, but the air conditioner worked a charm. Cons - Seating area furniture stained with ripped veneer. The smart TV wasn't. Pros - Location, room size, cleanliness and PRICE!!!

When i arrived the hotel late, receptionist literally chastised me for the late check-in. Then she threatened me that i run the risk of losing my room for the entire period (3 days). I replied that i prepaid for the room and asked if the room remains available respectfully. She said she will check with the housekeeping for the room availability but kept asking if i understand how i senseless i was not to inform the staff over email etc. I replied i traveled internationally and was not sure that i was supposed to notify my late arrival for the room that I already pais. She treated me with so little respect that made me feel ridiculed after a long trip. The room that i finally checked in was dirty, and the body wash etc was not working etc.. i am very disappointed for the hospitality and unnecessary aggression from the staff

It was fine. Location is great, room was clean. Staff was helpful. Elevator was super noisy, but fortunately asked for a room away from it and could only hear it a little. The only perk is decent wifi, apart from that there’s nothing. Coffee? It’s for sale for $4-6 in the lobby. Seems like coffee would be an easy thing to include when paying manhattan hotel prices, but you won’t get it at the Shoreham. I don’t know where that outside patio photo in their promo materials was taken, I never found it.

Shoreham hotel was good for our 4 night stay. The room 418 was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. On the down side there was no kettle or cups in the room and when we asked for one it was a negative , the kiosk in reception charged us $2 each cup of hot water for a brew each morning. The bathroom sink was very small and messy. Staff were just ok. The attached restaurant is independant, we had one very nice but very expensive meal there $200 .!!!!!!!

Wonderful dinner at the White Olive restaurant on site. Staff was very friendly. Good was above good. Elevator was dated and needed new flooring. Halls and rooms were very clean and convient and worked just fine for our plans.

The hotel’s plus is its location. Very very central with all facilities near by, main streets, subway, eateries, coffees , convenience stores, you name it. The hotel itself is old and definitely needs renovation. However, the mattress was new and very comfortable. Friendly and helpful personnel. No fridge even though the cupboard was there, no coffee in the room. There is a small shop by the lobby which is really helpful. Overall good value for money
