The Time New York, part of JdV by Hyatt

I've been staying at this hotel for twenty years. What I find very disappointing is the addition of a $34 "facilities fee" for which the hotel provides essentially nothing in return. Call it "Additional Profit." Incorporate it into the rental fee. But don't insult us by charging $34 and providing nothing in return.

Traveled with my daughter to see Wicked on Sunday. Arrived early Saturday and was checked in right away. The hotel is modern and comfortable, great concierge services, highly attuned to guests needs. The location couldn't be better with a 3 minute walk to the Tines Square and famous diners. Only a 25 minute walk to the Central Park. If ability to exercise during the stay is important, the hotel provides their guests access to a huge sports gym next door woth a salt water pool! Didn't stay long enough to check it out, but the pictures proved it had everything under you would need to break good sweat. Definitely recommend!

The location is terrific for attending events in the Theatre District. The hotel felt safe and the staff were great. The room was comfortable and the noise is to be expected, given the location. I did not realize their was a facility fee, and that was an unwelcome surprise. I feel like internet access should be included in the room fee, and that guests should have a choice whether to partake of the gym and wine/cheese hour.

Interesting hotel, may floors and only two elevators so in the morning it was quite the wait.

Parking was convenient across the street. Staff was exceptionally friendly. The gentleman at the front door was awesome! We didn't try the bar or the restaurant.

The staff was able to accommodate a higher floor after making the request on our first day. Hotel staff was very accommodating, responsive, and room was clean. The TMPL gym amenity perk is very much a pro, and the best wine and cheese happy hour. The only opportunity I saw was the need for an upgrade on furnishings. I saw some wear and tear on bed frame and restroom tile

There is no valet parking, there is a garage infront of the hotel that you go to and they park for you, $45 a day for sedan and $60 for suv, even if the suv is smaller than a sedan (Hyundai Kona). Also there is no in and out privilege.

10/10 Stay! Only thing is you have to wait about 10 minutes for the elevators to reach your floor which was a bit frustrating. Other than that, very clean, staff is great, and it’s in an optimal location in Times Square.

The staff was extremely helpful. Location is convenient to Times Square. Room was small, but that's typical of NYC. Only minus I can think of is that the bathroom needs more or bigger shelf space and hooks. Also, there was no tub, not that it mattered to me. There's an amenity fee of $40, while as far as I can tell, the only "amenity" other than the free bottle of wine is a small exercise room. Lastly, there's a markup of about $100 if you want a room with two beds, which seems excessive, even for Manhattan.

Stay was great with the exception that one elevator was down the entire stay, both elevators were not operating for several hours requiring guest to walk stairs, we were on the 10th floor. The bar was excellent service.

Gorgeous Hotel! I never would have guessed as its tucked away, but it delighted me and my boyfriend. Very clean, kind and friendly staff, plus we had full control over the thermostat (huuuge plus for NYC winter where heat is A LOT all the time.) Again, the Scandinavian minimalist design was gorgeous. Had a pretty large room for a NYC hotel with a king bed. I would come back again!

My room was extremely old and dirty. Furniture was worn and torn. I requested cleanliness many times, very very disappointed for what I paid. On my checkout, they even charged me to watch out my bags for a few hours.

The moment I walked into my room, there was a dead cockroach under a nightstand. I immediately went to the front desk and my room was changed. The only compensation I received was 2 drink cards that were $10 each ($20 total). I had fear of another cockroach or other bug infestation (bed bugs). The mattress was not comfortable. From the bedframe, bathroom and overall room, there was a lot of wear and tear. The grout in the bathroom was not cleaned well. The bathroom vent did not work which means mold can happen.The hotel needs a lot of updates. I felt I should have been compensated or got money off my stay. You also get charged to use the facilities even if you don't use them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were greeted promptly upon arrival.. the entire stay was delightful, comfortable, and convenient!! No issues with cleanliness. Great dining options.

Great location, 2 blocks away from Time Square. Walkable to many locations. The hotel itself was small and the room was okay. The large carpet in the room looks old and dirty. The bathroom was the worst part. As soon as I walked in the bathroom it smelled like urine. Perfume would not make it go away. I will never stay at this hotel again. Many coworkers warned me about this hotel, but I wanted to give it a try. There are many hotels in the area that are much nicer.

This place has ROACHES and they wouldn’t refund us. Area is definitely ideal but roaches are just a no

Rooms are dusty and in need of renovations, obvious signs of wear and tear, lots of dust showing show lack of attention to detail by staff when cleaning.

The hallways were stained and needed vacuuming. The room was clean but worn out. Lots of chips of paint missing on doorways and baseboard. Furniture has seen better days. It is a very basic room.

Unfortunately our AC unit in our room was not functional & did not sleep well the first night due to this. We got a portable AC put in our room, therefore needing the window somewhat open & to now listening to the crowd down below. Was not my favorite place I’ve stayed & don’t think I would again. The room was also not the cleanest where we had stains on our rug & some tables were quite dusty.

I can only say 2 good things about this hotel, staff and sheets. Everything else is subpar. The room was dirty, severly stained window shade, dusty room, dirty floor and the entire room with bad paint jobs and outdated btoken headboard needs an update. I will not be staying again.

Relatively quiet hotel easily accessible to Broadway shows. The room was clean, well-lit, with plenty of mirrors. Elevators did get busy in the morning with people either checking out or getting breakfast. We had a standard room and it was tiny. I would stay here again but get one of their larger rooms.

Rundown strange property which is not worth what they charge. Tiny bathroom, spacious room but with inadequate light, shoddy dated furniture, no storage space. no coffee facilities in room. water from shower goes everywhere. it was nice once but run down and strange set-up that looks more like a dorm than a hotel. Serafina restaurant is really good and bed was comfortable.

The air conditioner was very noisy. Even after switching rooms, the new room was even noisier. In short, it’s a nice hotel, but you can’t sleep at night.

Location is the only thing amazing about this hotel. Avoid otherwise. Broken outlets and lamps, moldy window air conditioning, not a fan of the mirror tv

Likes: -Great location for Time Square, Broadway shows, -Uber Pickups were easy( just had to go across the street due to some construction - Easy in/out of the premises -I liked the digital signs to signal staff for needing a room clean or “do not disturb” Dislikes: -when we arrived after check in, our room door was not closed so that was weird. I’ll chalk it up to staff not closing the door. However it made paranoid and me take the extra step of making sure the door was closed every time we left. - the room was quiet from city noise. However, we could hear seemingly any and all hallway noises through the door. Overall it was a great stay and I would probably stay there again to see if it was just my particular room that had those issues.

Decent location if you want to be near Broadway and Times Square but is very busy in the surrounding area. Staff were friendly. Room was clean but very small. Fixtures and furnishings were worn, for example, headboard was peeling, sink and toilet both had cracks in them.

Location is great, staff was great. The thing I did not like was the shower, it is extremely small. I also did not like the TV built into the mirror and the location of the TV. It always seemed to have a glare on it, it was also to the left of the bed, so trying to lay in bed and watch TV was not really how I would set things up. The TV also said no signal on multiple channels.

The air conditioning does not work efficiently in every room. We asked to be moved but only worked after a day.

Tiny rooms, high price

Great hotel in great location with friendly and attentive staff. Close to theaters, Times Square, subways, restaurants, Central Park, etc. Would stay here again for sure. Only small issue was there is no coffee maker in the room or lobby. You have to pay at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel.

The staff was outstanding!

A certain person at reception was polite but not very forthcoming with information on asking general questions, seemed irritated. Housekeeping would not answer phone calls and would not return calls on leaving messages. The expected set of towels for a room of 2 guests were missing towels. Several phone calls later, some were given but no shower gel or shampoo. Wi-fi was inaccessible. Although facility fee was not charged due to inaccessibility, it still led to a feeling on having an inadequate feature since I missed work and I had 2 kids wanting wi-fi. There was a doorman for the evening shift that was forever busy on the phone. He could see me walking towards the entrance door with my hands full but he decided to turn and keep watching his phone. I passed him several times but no acknowledgement of my presence was made.

I always book properties based on amenities. Prior to booking this hotel, I made sure there was a safe in the rooms due to my husband being a police officer and a safe must be present. the first room that was given to us had no safe, the remote was missing& only 1 robe was hanging in the closet . The 2nd room had a safe that did not work. The 3rd room they gave us had no safe. the 4th room safe had error messages & we were told maintenance would fix it while we were out at dinner .We got back to the hotel around 1 AM &the safe was not fixed. They then gave us a 5th room, but the keys did not work due to the door lock needing to be charged. I began to get extremely frustrated. finally to accommodate us they gave us a suite in which the safe did work. The front desk did try to accommodate and we’re polite., but it was extremely inconvenient to have went thru this coming from a hotel by the Hyatt. The next morning, I contacted Expedia and advised them that I wanted to cancel the second day stay. Thankfully, I had protection on my trip and was able to get a refund of the second day stay. housekeeping does not do their job in letting the front desk know there were missing safes along with remotes and robes. I do NOT recommend this hotel, and if I could get back my monies BACK from the first night I would . as we checked out there was a couple ahead of us who were complaining that they were checking in and were given a dirty room . DISGUSTING. DO NOT BOOK

Located in the heart of the Theater District. Best location if you are catching a show. Times Square and Broadway are blocks away. And the service was TOP SHELF. We came to NYC for a quick anniversary trip and when we let them know it was our anniversary, Emilio went out of his way to make us feel special and treated us to free drinks at the bar. And for an added touch of thoughtfulness, when we came back to our room after the show, we had a generous slice of chocolate cake with “Happy Anniversary” decorated on the plate, paired with a bottle of wine. It’s the little things like this that show the difference between good service and world class service.

Greta decor and amazing staff. Needs some updating for wear and tear but overall spectacular time. And who doesn’t love free wine and cheese!

My wife and I travel to NY a few times a year and we are ALWAYS booking new hotels, because there's never anything out there worth seeing again, for us. Until now! Let me tell you, we will be returning to The Time Hotel for as long as we can! Their exceptional service was led by their concierge, Eric Papanikolas, who we were lucky to meet during their wine tasting hour (with wine and cheese on the house) and he was simply a breath of fresh air. He asked about our plans and made wonderful recommendations while genuinely making us feel that he really cared about our stay! I honestly feel that we made a great friend in the city, now! The girls in the bar were awesome too! The food was great! the room was great! Honestly, Eric was able, so effortlessly, to add a nice layer to our travels and made us truly look forward towards our next escapade:) Thank you, so much, Eric! and we'll see you again, soon! ~Art & Joanna

The Time New York was tucked away in a very busy part of Times Square but we never really heard any street noise. The Time had access to major lines of the subway and walking distance to lots of entertainment. We can’t wait to stay there again!

Great place especially if you want to be in the center of Manhattan’s shopping food and entertainment, but hotel is tucked away if you want a little privacy

The Time New York Hotel could not be better located. It is within easy walking distance to Broadway Theatres, subway stations and fantastic restaurants, and both the front desk team and maintenance team were super friendly and helpful.

Perfect place to stay near it all! Walkable for shows, shopping and food! Completely safe. Staff was great.

Great location for broadway shows and sightseeing! Very comfortable bed and had everything we needed in a compact space, as expected in NYC.

Such a nice quiet hotel within walking distance of quite a few places along with close to subway access, and parking across the street. We were too busy to take advantage of wine and cheese from 5-6. Extremely close to so many broadway theaters. Extremely pleased with this hotel. Had 4 rooms for my older children and their spouses for Christmas gifts.

The location of the hotel is very central if you want to be near Broadway and Times Square. We were able to easily walk everywhere. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly. The rooms feel small, but when you are in NYC, you shouldn't stay in your room, you should get out and explore, which is what we did. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff were very friendly. The hotel restaurant and bar were delicious. The location is ideal whether seeing shows or conducting business in the city.

Unexpected surprises. Free wine and cheese cocktail hour (thanks Dee!) Continental breakfast. Staff that was as friendly as Canadians. Great bar service (Kathy, Ashley). Hotel was clean. Bathroom not super functional but clean and efficient. The Time is conveniently located for what we wanted to see and we walked almost everywhere (Theater, 5th Ave, Central Park, Midtown, HighMile, Chelsea). Top notch!

We loved the comfortably of the beds. Breakfast was 10/10! Noise was never a problem. Staff was very respectful and polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Perfect area! We drove in using our own vehicle and a parking garage was available across the street of the hotel who where also very kind and helpful as well!

Perfect location near Times Square. Decent size room for NYC with a comfy bed. The view from my room wasn’t great but I wasn’t expecting one. Nice perk - free wine and cheese each night.

This is a great place to stay in midtown. It was convenient, staff friendly and efficient. Continental Breakfast included was in an adjacent and attached restaurant. You can order a delicious bigger breakfast if desired for a really reasonable price. Room was much bigger than I expected. Noise outside was muted as soon as we turned on the room a/c fan. We were on ninth floor. I imagine noise becomes less of an issue the higher you are. Great stay. I would recommend and return!
