The hotel itself was clean and in a perfect location—right in the heart of Times Square, which was great for walking around. The rooms were surprisingly spacious, especially for NYC standards, and worked well for our family (two adults, 2 small kids, and a teenager). The bar/lounge staff were friendly, and the DJ played good music, creating a nice atmosphere in the evenings. BUT—be warned if you’re driving in.** Valet parking is a steep $95/day, and if you try to use the hotel’s partnered garage (which is NOT close by), be prepared for chaos. They lost our truck for 45 minutes, and it was a stressful, long walk—hauling luggage through Times Square with kids is not fun. Online, the garage is advertised at $50/day, but they don’t tell you there’s *no in-and-out access*, so you’re basically stuck leaving your car there. When we picked it up, the actual charge was $97.50. When I mentioned the $50/day rate the hotel had told me, the attendant replied, “That’s not what it costs, but I’ll give you a discount” and then demanded a tip *after* they misplaced our truck! We were charged $16 for peanut M&M’s from the in-room snack box, which we never ate, and wouldn’t have anyway since our kids have a peanut allergy. There's a $40/night which gives you a $20/night bar credit...but only if you use it at the bar. Even with that credit, up paying an extra $115 in unexplained charges. Overall, we had two rooms and spent just under $1,800 for a short stay—not including food, tours, etc.

This hotel has a DJ in the living room bar area. He was lit, the night time there was lit, and the drinks were great. The staff was amazing not a bad encounter the entirety of my stay. When I go back to NYC, this will be my spot again.

No amenities at all - mo coffee maker nothing in the room. Really all you could see out your window or the back of billboards because it's right in Time Square. No view from the 12th floor.

Very worn out room. Great view, great location, great bar, and great staff was the only reason it got two stars. Stains all over the couch, so it was a decent place to put luggage but I wouldn’t sit on it. Paint peeling from the ceiling of the bathroom, needs some ventilation fans. The elevators that weren’t closed off weren’t fully functional. One had a bank of buttons that didn’t work and one you had to manually push the doors closed to go anywhere. Drawers, cabinets and most of the furniture were chipped or broken.

The room could use some work. Around the vent it was badly damaged and the sink handle kept come off the sink and lastly the elevators were not working all but 1 so it was a long wait. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are not giving 5 or 4 stars I don't know if I would stay here again. Oh I almost forgot the construction outside of our window.

We recently stayed at the W Hotel and unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. The front desk staff was kind and professional throughout our stay, and we truly appreciate their courtesy. However, there were several issues that left us disappointed. We were overcharged and had to follow up more than once to get clarity. Our room was not cleaned one night, even though we did not have a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. We were told otherwise, but cameras would clearly show that no sign was present. The room itself felt dated and in need of refreshment, which was not what we expected for the price point. The windows were also extremely dirty, which took away from the overall ambiance and the city view we were hoping to enjoy. We chose the W expecting a more luxurious and seamless experience, but unfortunately, it fell short in several areas.

Pros: Staff is excellent, room service was fast and decent, large room, shampoo and conditioner was nice, if you want to be in Times Square then the location is great. Cons: I’m sure this Vegas style hotel was great back in the day, but ooph, it is old, beat up, and not the cleanest. The shower floor was slimy, there was so much dust/dirt hanging from tve bathroom vents I couldn’t believe it, the hot water stopped several times during showers.

Hotel is very convenient for theaters. Unfortunately we got eaten up by bed bugs or something similar during our time there. Hotel changed our room (to same type of room) as soon as we told them and took a small amount off the bill but felt perhaps a small upgrade or something would have been more reflective of the situation.

Our stay at the W Times Square made our trip to NYC even more special. The hotel and room were clean, spacious and well maintained. The staff all the way from our welcome to our departure were excellent especially Ram and his team. I had made a special request for my daughter and Ram exceeded my expectations by a lot.

We got a room that was not pre-cleaned to prior guests. We found dirty folded towels with makeup stains in the bathroom and we found a used men’s boxer shorts under the chaise. The room also had a weird smell. Will not be booking at this hotel ever again.

We're an older couple and the hotel has a much more youthful, hip focus so not a great fit for us. But the staff are very professional and helpful, the rooms are very clean. Room service food was quite good. Housekeeping is prompt and attentive. The location in Time Square is ideal. My only complaint with the room is the bathroom, it's not really a room but an area enclosed with frosted glass, so it does not provide complete visual and sound privacy, both of which are what I think most people want if you're sharing a room with someone, even a spouse

This is the second time I booked with the W Hotel where I book a city view and got obstructed views instead .this time I requested a higher floor but received a view of a construction sight instead of time square itself . The wall papers were peeling and the bathroom was not as advertised . The last time I also booked city views and requested a higher floor but got a view into someone’s apartment . In both cases the check in staff were dismissive and brushed my request off. I will never book with the W hotel again .

Newer amenities added to outdated property. Not worth the money. Can’t get a new sink and bedding and charge top of the line prices. Got a corner Times Square view only to not have a view without looking over the desk. Windows are also disgusting. What was the point of having this view if it was such poor quality

We had a great time at the W Times Square. Ish was simply fantastic, he made our checkin process easy and explained the property in a funny and friendly way. We were able to go to the TMPL gym and got our complimentary drinks. He also signed us up to become Marriott members, so we’re looking ahead to a long time relationship with the chain. They told forever to give us our rooms. They kept wanting to charge us more if we wanted a room that is available earlier. So we decided to wait in the lobby and after 8 hours of waiting, I went up and checked and they said oh sure I’ll give you the rooms. They were support to call us when the room is ready and they never did. They will make you wait on purpose so you pay more for whatever upgrade. It’s a scam

The room was acceptable, the amenities were fine, but the standout feature was the staff. From the doorman, bartenders, retail staff, they were each very professional, yet cordial and friendly and very welcoming. I would stay again if I needed to be in the area for another event.

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I waited over 7 hours for check in and the manager Eric, was extremely rude about the situation his staff put us through. Would only recommend based off the location, everything else including the rooms and customer service were not even close to what you'd expect from a Marriott property.

My family and I had an excellent experience at the W Hotel. The location was perfect, and our suite offered stunning views. The staff was warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed the live band on Friday night. The rooms were spotless, and overall the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

We love the W. Customer service all around is the best. We had room service for breakfast and e writhing was cooked exactly as requested.,delicious. The previous night we stopped at the bar and Patrick the bar tender was super friendly and knowledgeable. Gave us an eduction on vodka martinis.

Nice hotel. A few things to note: there is a $20/day "destination fee" or something like that. They say you can break even if spend $20 on drinks at the bar. Sounds great until you get to the bar and one drink is over $20! I paid extra on Expedia for "continental breakfast." This did not come through on the hotel's side so I had to find in Expedia where I had paid for that and then they gave me vouchers for breakfast. Also there is no continental breakfast in the hotel. The vouchers were for the mexican resturant next door on ground level. Another inconvenience was there was no code from Expedia that allowed me to pull up my reservation in the Marriott Bonvoy app. After calling both Expedia and Marriott they both blamed each other for not being able to supply the booking confirmation number that is needed to find your reservation in the app.

My wife and I had an excellent stay at the W. Staff was very helpful and accommodating from the doormen, the front desk, housekeepers, to the kitchen staff. Definitely a bright spot of many on our stay in New York. Elegant hotel, chic feel, with nice bar and lounge. Right off of Broadway which allowed for easy and less crowded entry. We definitely be back. Great job W! Thanks for a great time. And thank you for the complementary champagne and fruit from Nuk the door man!

Rooms were a bit dated. Ice machine didn't work and caused a minor inconvenience. Some curtains, along with the shade would have been nice. You are going to be able to hear the street noise, but it's to be expected. You get charged a destination fee, they do give you a credit for the bar, but will not substitute bar credit for something else-not everyone is a boozey drunk. All and all it was alright.

W Time Square hotel had amazing staff. Check-in and check-out was extremely easy and convenient. I would have left 5 starts if I had not visited the lounge/bar. At the bar/lounge, staff was rude, we waited over 15 minutes to get service and didn’t get any until I approached the bartender, who ignored me twice. I asked the waitress and she was rude and didn’t check on us once. She brought the check with our drinks and assumed we were done. I closed the tap right away and on our way out, the busier asked us to go back and throw a pizza box I left at the table, which was extremely embarrassing. I had left extra tip just for the box, but took it back with the box. I wan to mention the place was not busy at all. We decided we would not use of $30 credit/day to avoid such service. Which is a shame because we did spent way above the credit. Cleanliness: The room smelled clean, however, the toiles had urine stains, the bathtub was missing one curtain, and there was dust and hairs all over the bathroom floor. The cleaning staff took care of it right away. Although we didn’t mind, it made us wonder about the beds, carpet, and furniture. Location was very convenient, we had bakeries, restaurants, pizza, and many shopping stores around, including souvenirs. Place seems very safe and clean all around.
