This hotel is very dated. There is no elevator. So you have to carry your luggage upstairs. The first room we were given it smelled so bad like cigarettes smoke. After insisting on a new room it wasn't much better. The clerk was rude and not helpful. First she said she didn't have a another room but after we insisted she found one. But first she went up to room to check if we were lying. Why would we? Then she said it smells musty not cigarettes smell. Wrong. It smelled like a used ash tray. Secondly the hotel claims to handicap accessible. Which it is not. No automatic doors and second floor is up many steep stairs.The pool is in the parking lot is very small and dirty. The breakfast is just ok. I would not recommend the hotel. The beds are so small also two people can barely fit.

Obviously an old hotel that’s had several upgrades. Had an outside entrance to our room and it was apparent no one checked the room before we arrived as we had to clear spider webs away from the entire doorway to get in. Room was comfortable, had the basics. Coffee machine hadn’t been used for sometime as it was filthy with general dust/debris. Plenty of parking. Pool was green and a closed sign was put up the next morning. Breakfast was ok. Served our needs, will likely look elsewhere next time in the area.

This was our 2nd time here. They are clearly understaffed. Staff tried their best but we couldn’t check in on time because our room wasn’t cleaned yet - waited an additional 90 before the room was ready (5p). Also, the condition of the hotel is run down and lots of peeling paint,etc. The room was clean once we got in there. Decent continental breakfast. Can’t believe they can operate legally without an elevator.

My son and I stayed one night at the hotel in late October 2024. The hotel was clean, comfortable and fine for a one night stay. Hotel staff was pleasant. Breakfast is included and was the standard fare but no complaints. The hotel is located about five miles from the downtown area so those restaurants and shops are not within reasonable walking distance. Overall, a good value.

Check in was good, very friendly. Quick check in. Didn’t like there was no elevator. My husband has bad legs, so climbing with a suitcase was bad. I did not see anywhere when we booked online that there was no elevator, or we would have stayed elsewhere.

I booked without realizing there was no elevator or gym, so that is on me. We were here for Cedar Point so didn’t spend a ton of time at the hotel. Overall, the facility was clean, the staff were friendly, the room was nice and cold and we enjoyed our stay. We took advantage of the washer and dryer on site but we didn’t use the pool but it did look refreshing and there were always people using it so it must have been clean as well. We would stay here again. The lake view right across the street was nice!

The stay here was ok. There was inly 2 things that made the stay bad was 1 the pool was filthy and 2 the beds were so low to the ground or I probably wouldn’t have noticed the terrible smell on the carpet. The beds were a little to firm.

This hotel is old, dirty and smelled bad. When we first arrived we were attacked by a swarm of flying ants as we unloaded our car. Our room smelled musty and the carpet left our feet dirty if we took off our shoes. The room desperately needed a deep clean. There were bugs and spider webs along the ceiling and edges of the room. A large spider crawled out of our bed pillows. The beds are too narrow to be comfortable for two people. Pets are allowed and a dog barking woke us up in the early morning. Do not stay here! Find someplace better!

Probably one of the dirtiest hotels overall that I’ve ever been to. Room wasn’t too bad (thank goodness) but everything else was absolutely filthy! Never seen so many cigarette butts in on the ground in one place…like the entrance has probably never been cleaned and the trash has never been picked up.

Clean and large room with a view of the water. Restaurants close by. SUPER nice staff - even gave us cold water as we left and held the door open. Late check out (12:00) was nice. I wish the pool could open earlier than 10:00 but I can understand the goal of keeping things quiet for those with rooms next to the pool. Oh, also great to be dog friendly.

We could stay at this hotel due to the overwhelming mold/mildew smell in the room. They were completely booked, so we opted to receive a refund. Hotel seemed older and run down. Very little parking available in the front lot. Staff was very helpful and friendly though, so not a completely terrible experience. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone sensitive to mold like myself.

The bathroom and shower were spotless and worked well. The beds were very comfortable. The AC worked perfectly but smelled like mildew, and the freezer section of the minifridge rained condensation onto our leftovers. The TV was quite small, but worked fine. The hotel is directly across the street from Lake Erie, which we could see from our room. Very pretty!

Stayed for 2 nights. I chose this place due to the good reviews. The breakfast was adequate and the staff was friendly. Location was pretty good. Our room was kind of dirty. There was a spot of blood on one of our beds and it wasn't old, washed blood and the bathroom corners were really dirty. The internet was down for most of our stay, which my husband and I could live with, but difficult time keeping the kids entertained. I had to use my mobile hot spot eating up a bunch of my data. Our stay wasn't awful, but I'd never pick to stay there again.

Our room was very large and had enough room for another bed. Talking about the beds, they were double beds which we thought might be too small. However, we all seemed to enjoy the beds and slept very well each night. The breakfast area was very well kept with staff constantly restocking up until 10pm. Would absolutely stay again!

Check-in was smooth and easy… great location for New Years Eve Walleye drop. The train was kind of loud behind motel but after a few passes you get used to the noise.. Breakfast was very good and not crowded!!! Would very likely stay again.

The internet was not reliable and the television did not work properly. The majority of the staff were not very friendly. When I placed a complaint about our overall experience with the manager, they were not helpful & the response was rude. We will not be staying here again.

When I reserved the room we needed a Queen or King size bed what they gave use was two single size beds that's not what I reserved I am a bit handicapped due to recovering from a major back surgery that limits my stair use also had no idea the hotel does not have an elevator when we arrived and started checking in on Thursday 4/4/24 we ask the person if they could move us to the first floor she said nothing she could do because the 1st floor was blocked off for the solar eclipse on Monday 4/8/24 yet we saw people checking in and out yesterday and today when we checked out the person was so rude that I will never stay at a Best Western hotel ever again my back hurts so bad from going up and down the stairs and my wife had to bring everything up and down the stairs she is also very upset I could tell that the person checking us did not care about our issues at all this was the worst hotel experience we have ever had and we travel a lot I will visit my doctor this week to make sure I did not hurt my back from this

Check-in was at 3pm, we arrived a few minutes after 3, was told the room wasn't ready. Had to wait 40 minutes for the room. Then found out there are no elevators. Wish I had known prior to booking. The hotel itself was ok..very dated.
Check-in was at 3pm, we arrived a few minutes after 3, was told the room wasn't ready. Had to wait 40 minutes for the room. Then found out there are no elevators. Wish I had known prior to booking. The hotel itself was ok..very dated.

This staff here were super accommodating when I requested a first floor room to avoid the stairs. A well prepared breakfast and a huge TV were a nice surprise. The location was great for our needs. We needed a place west of Cedar Point and Port Clinton was a great fit - right on Lake Erie for some nice sunset pictures. It was the staff’s attention to the guests and work ethic that really impressed me. Thank you for a great start to our vacation.

The internet was not reliable and the television did not work properly. The majority of the staff were not very friendly. When I placed a complaint about our overall experience with the manager, they were not helpful & the response was rude. We will not be staying here again.

My son and I stayed one night at the hotel in late October 2024. The hotel was clean, comfortable and fine for a one night stay. Hotel staff was pleasant. Breakfast is included and was the standard fare but no complaints. The hotel is located about five miles from the downtown area so those restaurants and shops are not within reasonable walking distance. Overall, a good value.

Older facility with no elevator and the doors are not automatic. Clerk was nice enough to give me a first floor room, didn't want to walk steps. Breakfast standard fare and clean and well stocked. Jolly Roger seafood across the street, highly recommended.

Surprised at how nice and spacious the rooms are. Bed could be better but it was adequate. Perfect place to rest during a road trip. Literally across the road from the lake! Wish i had time to visit around. The breakfast was SUPERB! Shocked at the variety of choices! Hot scrambled eggs with sausage links? Hot waffles? Breads, tons of fresh fruits… Definitely a great stay!

Our room was very large and had enough room for another bed. Talking about the beds, they were double beds which we thought might be too small. However, we all seemed to enjoy the beds and slept very well each night. The breakfast area was very well kept with staff constantly restocking up until 10pm. Would absolutely stay again!
