Best Western Plus Sandusky Hotel & Suites

The elevator didn’t work so we had to use the stairs our whole stay. Our room was on the third floor. Not very disability friendly

everything was great except the free breakfast (included with stay) the pancake machine broke, the juice machine was broke, the yogurt was not individual servings but from a drop dispenser only one flavor, 4 day stay only had patty sausage for meat. Would have thought they would have a better breakfast selection for the price of the room. Facility clean and staffed ok, furnishings good.

Very nice rooms! Pool was a little small but loved that it had jets like a hot tub. Price was fantastic for one night!! Very easy and convenient after a day at Kalahari just down the street!!

Elevator was broken and they had us on the 3rd floor. Then our key wouldn’t work so had to get it re-programmed. They room was nice though

We absolutely loved our hot tub room. Great location and friendly staff. Comfortable bed too. The only not so great thing was the elevator broke and was not running for two days. My boyfriend had hip and hernia surgeries recently so it was a bit of a trek for him but we would still choose best western again!

Hotel was clean and the check-in process was easy. It was a very convenient location for our trip to Sandusky. The parking lot is a little small, although there is a shared parking lot with the hotel next-door. However returning in the evening often meant that you had to walk from the opposing hotel parking lot to get into The Best Western. Other than that, it worked out perfectly.

The internet information is deceiving. The hotel pool was creepy in a dungeon looking basement. it was just not a good environment. it was very unkept. the staff were very nice,.

It was just right for a one night stay. It was interesting to have the pool/ therapy pool in the basement. Plus the gym was in the basement. It was strange at first but the pool was worth it.

Not great parking

Elevator did not work! Stairs are difficult for me. Yogurt machine broken.

We had to request a different room, the accessible shower was filled with mold 1/4 way up the walls and all along the corners. The hotel staff moved us to another room that was better, but still had mold in the corner of the tiled tub. The free breakfast was pitiful. I would not recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel. I was really impressed with how clean the rooms were. The front desk person was very friendly. We didn’t use the pool because we got in late from a busy day at Cedar Point but we did go look at it and it seemed very clean. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Will definitely stay again.

The cleaning needs to be much better. Good certainly benefit from using the edging tool of a vacuum to get where the vacuum doesn’t reach. There was a build up of hair, dust, dirt, and even a dead bug. Also saw 2 short curly hairs in tub on the ledge where I was going to set my shampoo. Need new pillows. We had 4 on each bed that was so thin and filled with bunched up balls of stuffing. Very uncomfortable. The oddest part about our stay was that it seemed there was a missing floor board almost the entire length of our room that was covered up by the carpeting. Each time I stepped there, my foot would sink down like a piece of fabric draped over a hole. It was in the main walkway of the room, so it was unavoidable.

Front desk was very nice. Room was big, had fridge and microwave. However, there was food left in our fridge from previous guests. Ehen i told maids, they stood and texted on their phones. I had to insist they come in and clean out fridge. Dust on floor by side of bed. Dark hair left in sink. Told front desk, said ok thank you...that was it. 😲 Nice selection for breakfast. Pool was supposed to be heated. Water was cold.

Everything was old and worn, in and out of the room. It felt dark and musty. The staff was friendly and helpful though. Breakfast was ok, but the coffee was good. The room was dirty! Cobwebs and stains everywhere. The bed was so uncomfortable, we barely slept. Would never stay here again.

We discovered bed bugs in the room after we spent a night there

When we arrived the person behind the counter was wearing a Simpson shirt and playing on his phone, when we got to our room it smelled terrible, it wasn’t cleaned, the sheets were dirty, the bed was brown, there was garbage in the corner, the toilet paper was half used, and there was a bar of used soap in the middle of the shower. There was trash all over the outside of the building, the pictures online do this place zero justice. It is disgusting inside and out

This was adequate for our short trip. Booked a room with 3 beds but it was set up with only 2 towels. Housekeeping only came once in our 4 night stay. Waking around on the rug my feet got dirty, but bedding and bathroom were very clean.

This hotel is definitely dated and not that clean. I wouldn’t stay here again. Also… don’t keep your room key anywhere near your phone or it will demagnetize.

The hotel itself was built to a high standard in the 90s/2000s and was recently refreshed. The breakfast was decent. BUT the hotel is not well managed. The staff was kind and responsive but maybe in over their heads. First, they couldn't find our fully paid reservation. Then they gave us keys to an already occupied room which was shocking for all involved when we walked in. Staff then offered me a ground floor room, the opposite of a mea culpa upgrade. Finally, we got a second floor room that smelled fresh and had made beds BUT the bathroom was dirty with hair in the sink, and a huge glob of hair over the tub drain. Just gross. The manager came up to "clean" it herself. We ran into her in the hallway and all she had with her was a spray bottle. No other products, nothing to scrub with, not even paper towels. I think she just removed the hair. The toilet had a ring within a day or two and those take time to grow, so that was never cleaned. We couldn't go barefoot on the carpet. It just wasn't clean. The beds were fresh and the room was large. The people are nice, but this place is not operated properly. I would not stay here again and am considering giving up on Best Westerns altogether. Corporate does not seem to quality control the franchises.

Decent good stay for a budgetary price. Only complaint is poor WiFi in the room.

The hotel, itself, was fine. However, the bed in my room was atrocious. I find it hard to believe that Best Western would actually sell a room for even one night with a bed like this. It was visibly sunken in the middle and just completely worn out. I slept horribly, and now have an achy back. I travel a decent amount through the year, and typically stay at Best Western when convenient. This is clearly not up to your brand standards.

The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever "slept" in. Once, in my 20's, I went tent camping in a downpour. Our whole site was flooded, so we had to set up on the gravel driveway. The air mattress deflated partway through the night and we slept on the gravel. That was more comfortable. Ill definitely be needing to see the chiropractor after our stay.

I’ve stayed here before. The staff is always super friendly. Rooms were nice but some of the furniture is a little outdated. However, for the price and location you can’t beat it.

We have stayed there many times but have never heard so much room noise as we heard this last stay. Noise from room above , next door & hallway. I thought the rooms were better insulated for noise. People were not screaming either we heard everything from coughing to toilets & just conversations. Other than that our stay was fine. Just disappointed since we hadn’t had that before.

This is our third stay here, but first time in their suite with 4 beds that can sleep up to 8 people. The beds were double beds, not like the queen beds in the other rooms we've booked before. The beds were uncomfortably hard. They were like sleeping on the floor. The room had 4 bath towels in it, yet sleeps 8. I shouldn't have to go down to the front desk at midnight when we got to our room to ask for more towels, sleeps 8 should have 8 in room. Breakfast was ok as usual. Wish they would vary the breakfast and offer bacon vs sausage and have some other options.

This hotel is a decent stop if you are in the Cedar Point area. The rooms are spacious and relatively quiet. It is a bit dated inside but we knew we weren’t paying for luxury.

The staff both at the front desk breakfast and cleaning rooms were amazing. We left a coat behind and they were able to box it up and send it to us in less than a week. I would highly recommend this professional clean safe wonderful location thank you.

Everything was great here, but the staff was a whole other level. The staff was probably the kindest and most respectful staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. I will definitely be staying here every time I’m in Sandusky!

After checking in, someone else came into our room and said this was there room. Room office did not show us checked in. They gave them keys. Also pool didn’t work proper jets. Tv didn’t work in workout room. The breakfast was good. No tv guide. Tv guide also did not work.

Excellent staff who let us check in a bit early on a cold and drizzly day. Highly recommend.

Front desk person was never at the desk. Waited over 10-15 minutes to be checked in and we had to be at a cheer comp 30 minutes after we arrived. Tried to call and no answer while we were standing there. Then later on we tried using the vending machine and it ate our money so again went to the front desk and waited a long time for her to help us again. Just frustrating having to wait that long for help.

The front desk staff were awesome! The ONLY complaint was about the orange juice in the breakfast area. I told the woman working in there that the OJ was rancid both days. She said it expires in May of 2026, so there was nothing she could do. I asked her to taste it the 2nd day and she refused. Said it wasn't expired. Other than that episode with the breakfast bar lady, everyone else I encountered was wonderful!

Very close to shopping (Walmart, Meijer, Mall), restaurants and Cedar point.

Stayed here for a baseball tournament. Was a solid choice for price with breakfast included, close to the fields. Would stay here again.

Friendly staff, great location

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Sandusky. Clean, comfortable and quiet hotel in a location close to shopping and restaurants. Our room was spacious and included a microwave and refrigerator, which was a nice plus. Pleasant and accommodating staff. Small indoor pool area. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars was because I was a little disappointed with the breakfast. On the sign outside of the hotel they advertised pancakes and French toast, which I kept expecting... but that never happened. Other than that, it was a great place to stay for families, couples or work.

Close enough to cedar point but far enough away to be quiet.

I went to Sandusky for bike week. The hotel let bikers park under the awning when it rained. I was happy with the room. The complimentary breakfast was very good.

Property was fine. Room was clean. Breakfast had a lot to be desired. The front desk kid said the waffle machine broke, and they are refusing to get a new one. Two games in a closet does not equal a game room. Very noisy at night, and in the morning, our entire floor smelled like marijuana.

Beds are comfortable, clean sheets. However, the shower looked like it had a big spot of mold. Also, the breakfast is awful. I’ve had better at way cheaper hotels.
