Me and my girlfriend decided to checkout Chattanooga for a couple days and stayed at The Chalet at Choo Choo. Check in really set the tone, as the hotel staff greeted us at the door opening the door for us to then easily check in at the desk where the staff was welcoming and informative! The hotels decor is really incredible and has neat train car rooms you can book! The hotel also has good amenities with the pool, snack bar, and a very good restaurant basically attached to the hotel.

Beautiful and well appointed rooms and common areas. Gym had limited though nice equipment and was clean and functional. Pool area was nice, parking was easy, and we didn’t use our car the whole weekend because of the location was incredibly convenient to public transit and/or exploring on foot. Would definitely stay here again and hope to eat at Elsie’s Daughter next time.

The hotel was beautiful and just a neat place to stay. We enjoyed the lobby and nearby restaurantss. Slightly disappointed that they didn’t have an ice machine but we were able to get ice from the cafe in the lobby. Only other disappointment was that the cardio Echelon treadmills and the machines weren’t working (wanted sign in and password) and the hotel staff did not know how to get them to work.

Such a sweet and unique property right by the now defunct Central Train Station, great restaurant, CHARMING rooms, can stay in a train car if you choose it, heated pool and the cutest gym you have ever worked out in! My room was spotless but the public areas - halls, stairs and lobby needed a serious vacuum.

We stayed in a train car for my husband’s birthday. The complimentary toiletries are regular sized bottles of shampoo, lotion etc that were opened and used by previous guests. I thought this was odd. We usually bring our own toiletries anyway but we were just staying one night so we’d packed light. Cleanliness was okay, the bed and couch were pristine. The shower looked like it was growing Serratia in some of the grout? at the bottom. We didn't report this because I wasn’t going to shower without unopened toiletries anyway. There were little things like a spot of toothpaste on the bathroom light and dirt/hair in the corner of the floors in the bathroom and in the floor by the bed. The heated floors in the bathroom were nice. The room listing says the rooms are soundproof but I could hear the people beside us talking and it’s not like they were yelling. and of course I could hear kiddos yelling outside but I mean that’s any room, I guess. Check in was easy, staff were wonderful and the property is gorgeous.

The hotel was great - except for one thing. The entire hotel smelled musty and a little moldy. When I visit Chattanooga, I typically stay at the Moxy. They were booked for the weekend, so I made reservations at the Choo Choo. I stayed there in March and enjoyed my experience. This time the smell of the hotel really affected my husband's sinuses. We even went to the Food City nearby and purchased an air freshener to spray in the room.

The Hotel Chalet is a delightful boutique style hotel conveniently located in the best part of Chattanooga. The room, pool, and grounds were excellent as was the service and staff. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel, Elsie’s Daughter, was also fantastic and highly recommended.

We stayed in a RR car (instead of standard hotel room), while words like cute and quaint come to mind, I don't recommend it except for the experience. The RR car room was very dark and there are no tables or counterspace. We also had an issue with parking. There was a wedding in the ballroom our second night so there were no parking spaces in the hotel lot. We were shocked when the deskclerk told us "well then you'll have to pay to park in the garage" - nearly a block away. That wasn't going to happen but finally a wedding guest left and we were able to get 1 space. Don't know about the next people. Room was clean and quiet and staying at the Choo Choo with restaurants, bars, and shops is nice but not sure I would do it again

This hotel was nice but two major issues we had. I like to read in bed and they had no lighting only a dim night light near the bed. Also the tv kept pixelating all night like the wifi or connection was bad. At first we thought it was the channel but it did it on all channels. It was also very loud with people walking up the hallway late at night.

Very good location and parking. Room adequate but very poor lighting. Stayed two nights but no cleaning/servicing during our stay. Concierge very helpful and adjacent bistro Elsie’s daughter was excellent. Overall a good place to stay but could do with a little updating maybe.

I had such high expectations for this unique stay but it just wasn’t. It was a great concept of turning train carts into a hotel room but they should make sure it stays cool with AC working! Checked in with 89 degrees inside with AC not working, maintenance came out and got the air flowing but 30 mins later, showing 90 degrees….. Asked for a refund and got out of there. It seems that these carts run hot in summer days and cant keep it cool enough? I asked people who were in the other cart room and their ac works but wasn’t going below 81 degrees. The main building had issues too, they lost power for few seconds and got it back but it took out their computer and phone system where they were not able to get me the refund there and had to contact Expedia. People were not able to check in either, had a long line. Also keep in mind you can hear everything from outside people talking and cars and stuff. Im sure people outside can hear you talking inside the cart if you talk loud enough.

Without question, the best shower I have ever had. Water pressure was awesome! The rooms are huge, the bed very comfortable and you cannot beat the location. This was my 3rd time here and won't be my last.

This hotel seems to have had a recent update. Our room was so clean and beautiful and the whole property is interesting and well-maintainers. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were in walking distance of a good bit of stuff to do. Check out the Sunday Market if you are in town for the weekend. Our only complaints- -the girl at check in didn't clearly state the cost of incidentals -dark paint throughout the hotel made it difficult to see We would stay here again.

They did not make beds. They did not give enough wash clothes. I have VIP status with Expedia and they did not acknowledge it. When I checked in the gentleman was not helpful and did not really want to interact. The hotel is nice and over all I did enjoy my stay.

Loved the opportunity to stay at such an iconic hotel in historic Chattanooga. Staying in the old box car was an awesome and memorable experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a light out in the bathroom and I needed to be able to do my makeup as I was getting ready for my wedding, but maintenance came by immediately to bring a new bulb. So much to do in the area, no matter what your reason is for visiting. Overall I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you’re looking for the “Chattanooga experience”.

I would have given The Hotel Chalet a 4 star, as it was a good hotel. The service and friendliness provided by Cory their bellman is what forced me to give this hotel 5 stars. The hotel itself has a fun theme and the rooms are cool and spacious. The front desk was nice, but did not show much personality. Cory was extremely helpful, knowledgeable of the area, provided a tour of the hotel. That hotel needs to do what they can to keep him, because he made the stay great as opposed to decent to good.

I love this hotel. My check in however hit a snag. I needed two rooms and one was not ready. The woman at desk said she would text me shortly when room was ready but never did. After lunch I went to desk and it was never put in computer for second room so I had to go through check in all over again. A bit inconvenient. This will not deter me from staying again in future.

I was centrally located for the area we wanted to visit. Never used our car during our 2 day visit. safe streets with numerous restaurants , bars and Brew Pubs.. No complimentary breakfast, however, three fine Breakfast offerings 5 minute walk away. Great Location for concerts at The Signal

We originally booked the Street Car suite to stay in and when we checked in, it was having maintenance, so they upgraded us to the larger suite inside the hotel and it was very nice. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in, in a hotel. We didn't take advantage of the pool because the weather wasn't very nice. It was walking distance to restaurants and bars nearby. The coffee shop in the hotel was convenient.

Such a unique stay, that is perfectly decorated and clean . It is also a very walkable place , many nearby places to eat and enjoy yourself. The pool was spectacular and not to mention the restaurant on the property, one of the best meals I’ve had.

Expedia is not clear about the room options on their website. I thought I was reserving the room aboard the restored rail cars. We ended up in the hotel with a lovely regular room. Super disappointed! If you want the sleeper rail cars, you must select “deluxe sleeper.” Lovely elegant 1940s decor throughout the site. Food at Elsie’s Daughter was delicious but small portions. Several other good restaurants and Clumpie’s Ice Cream within walking distance.
