Although it was nice that the management of the property provided lots of various flotation items (boogie boards, noodles, etc.) the pool had a lot of trash and such floating in it. Also the hot tub was never hot. Otherwise we enjoyed the stay as in past visits to Galveston Island.

When we arrived the pool and hottub were closed due to construction. They said it was posted on the website but it was no where to be found. We were able to use the pool at San Luis but it was a hassle driving over there all the time. They did give us a free breakfast and didn't charge for the parking but it didn't come close to making up for the deception and inconvenience. I understand the need to remodel but it was handled quite poorly.

Loved that it was just a walk across the street to get to the beach. Also loved the "resort" feel. Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the halls on the floor we stayed on. We were there for 3 days and it was never vacuumed once. The same trash was there the entire time.

The room was decent size and nice. On the website it said the beds were “pillow top” they in fact were not. They were so uncomfortable and hard. Also I was shocked checking in when they told me there was a $100 deposit that I would receive back in 3-4 business days. I expect a deposit just not that much. It should be listed when you book your room or at least somewhere on the website.

We enjoyed our stay, but the Gulf view was a little obstructed as the chairs on the balcony didn't have a really good view unless you blocked the door to the balcony. We did enjoy looking at the water and watching people from Landry's park near our hotel.

My family stayed at Galveston’s Hilton for a weekend vacation . The staff was very professional at check in . The room was rather tiny but clean and beds were comfy. I’d recommend checking in early for a room with a good view. At 6pm only 1st fl or parking lot view was available . The location was outstanding as it’s close to good restaurants , beach and convention center. The best part of the hotel was the amazing pool . It was very relaxing and well staffed . I would stay here again but with an early arrival time for better room choice.

Adrian, the Valet, was outstanding. He was very friendly, efficient and did a wonderful job assisting us in parking our car and helping us with our luggage two times to and from our room. Still have a hard time believing that the Hilton still does not have a functioning phone system. We have stayed there several times over the past several months and there has every time been the issue of no phone service in the rooms. Poor!!!

My family and I wanted too order dinner , we called room service about 7 times ,no answer, then called front office we were put on hold . Hung up after 5 mins or and called back ,someone picked up we told them the problem,they said to come down to the lobby to order . Went down they were not busy 3 lady’s were standing there talking amongst themselves. Someone. Took our order , it was delivered and they got the order wrong . It was resolved. The problem I have is I went there to relax and enjoy myself. Not be inconvenienced due to poor customer service.

This place was completely horrible. The staff were rude and not helpful at all. The room is very small especially considering the price you pay. There was hammer going on above us. There was crumbs and sand on the sheets as soon as we got there. When we finally had enough we decided to check out early and the management told us there is a early check out fee. And on top of that they have double charged my card. I will never stay here again and would never recommend this place to anyone. Stay here at your own risk.

I had a great stay -- except for the check-in and front desk manager. My room was promised @ 4:00. Not ready. I asked how long, Jamie at the desk could not tell me so I sat in the lobby with my suitcase. Went back at 5:00, again Jamie said she could not tell me. I had plans for the evening and could not change and she could care less. Did not offer a cup of coffee or anything just told to wait. I went back at 6:00, again she could not tell me when. I then called the Hilton customer support line. They called the hotel then came back on the phone and said go to the desk, my room was ready. Shazzam it all of a sudden it was ready...why did it take that call? No apologies from the desk or anything. The Hilton was great...as I said after you get past the front desk. I would not mind visiting a Hilton again but not the one on the Galveston seawall. I will NOT go back due to mismanagement at the front desk and not caring attitude by all, especially Jamie.

Stayed for a night before a cruise. Mardi Gras party made lots of noise, but we stayed in our quiet and very nice room. Disaster struck the next day after we boarded our ship. Discovered that I’d left all my medication at Hotel with 45 minutes before sail away. Peggy, front desk staffer, immediately jumped in her car and brought my meds to the ship in the nick of time. Talk about above and beyond service, this was it!! Saved my vacation, and I’ll always remember Peggy and the Galveston Hilton.

Wi-Fi is included as an amenity like every other hotel in this day and age. We paid over $600 to stay here, but the Wi-Fi was not working. We went to the front desk to talk multiple times during our stay, and were told that they were fixing it. They kept blowing us away, even after saying they would give us compensation. At the end the front desk offered a $15 waiver for the parking permit and shoved us off. We were unable to complete necessary tasks on our computers and had to go elsewhere multiple times during the day. We were not given an apology a single time. We will be taking further measures.

Staff was very friendly, respectful and welcoming. When we arrived there was a line for check in at the front desk as the system was running a bit slow, the staff was very apologetic and even after encountering very rude and unpleasant guest they stay respectful, friendly and welcoming with them and everyone. Anytime we asked a question or needed anything staff was very prompt. When we walked out/in for any reason we were greeted and or told to have a great time, goodnight/good morning etc. I would say when you check out make sure to get your final bill and review in person, i had an additional charge and had to call and took a while to get through. Although when i did Rueben was so helpful and helped get that charged reversed and if i had any questions or concerns i could call back. Eric was the valet and was amazing! And Mia was our waitress during breakfast and was so pleasant. I unfortunately can’t remember every staff members name but they’re all so kind, respectful and so welcoming! definitely coming back!

Our first morning went out well. The staff were friend and accommodating. The service at the breakfast place went great, they were helpful, friendly, and welcoming. But our second morning was the opposite. We waited for time at the front because nobody was there. We finally got to sit down, it took so long for the server to serve us. We were the one to call them. And it felt like they were mad that we had to order breakfast. We felt bad for ordering food. When my husband was asking for a bowl and plate at the bfast buffet, they gave him all the dirty plates that were not washed yet. It was a bad service. But overall, it was an okay experience.

We stayed at this resort for a night before boarding for our cruise. The facility if beautiful, walking access to the beach (right outside the front door). We loved the view from our room. The bed was super comfy, the breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly. I really appreciate the front desk staff assisting with an early check-in after traveling most of the day to get to Galveston. We will definitely stay here again when coming to Galveston.

Nice location Landry’s Seafood next door and Rainforest cafe and IHOP !!! Beach access across the street !!! The Drink prices are to high and breakfasts buffet to much $ 22 per person no way !!! You can eat cheaper but other than that it has a nice pool area with stay cool walking surface around pool really nice looking

We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Galveston. The front desk, pool, cleaning staff were all great. Very friendly and fast service. The only bad service we received was when we tried to stop by the 5400 bistro for breakfast we ended up leaving after sitting for 15 minutes with no service. The room was really nice, clean and spacious. The sofa-bed bed was not comfortable but our 6 and 2 year old still slept there even though during the day they were on our bed. The king mattress was good but the pillows were way too soft. Your head sinks in. If that's your preference then great. I'll still stay here and just bring my own pillows. Overall my 6 year old gave it a 4.5 out of 5 stars and I agree. Great for a weekend with your special someone and great for a weekend with your family.

Drinks by the pool were extremely expensive and not good at all. We had a strawberry daiquiri and a piña colada and the bill was $27 plus tip. The drinks sucked, at that price I was expecting they use actual fruit. Not an actual resort experience. Check in is at 4pm which is pretty late.

Horrible experience, ruined family vacay, they must only hire hospitality rejects that couldn't cut it at the high end hotels. We only stayed one night & planned to spend the day sight seeing but had to leave the island early & disappoint 3 kids due to an unsubstantiated $400 hold they placed on my card & refused to release. We hadn't even made it down the elevators this morning when I had 2 large charges process instead of an incidentals refund I was expecting. Thinking it was a mistake we headed to lunch as planned but after lunch when the charges were still in my account I called the hotel. I was placed on hold for 15 min, called back & was sent to someone's vm, so I drove back to the hotel. Front desk staff & the manager on duty laughed in my face at the word "marijuana" when they told me there was a $250 deep cleaning fee plus $37.50 of TAX. I explained that was impossible that I nor my 3 children under age 13 don't smoke anything. The rooms have connected balconies & neighbors smoke could have blown in, I don't know, I'm not a scientist, but I also don't smoke. When I explained that $287.50 cleaning charge was still less than $400 hold on my card & that this situation was ruining our vacation, they said oh well, that I would just have to wait for the charges to clear & that they would not cancel them. Bottom line, do not stay here unless you're rich & have an extra $500 to blow. This one night stay I booked using a gift card ($0 out of pocket) cost me $480 in acct holds

Great location and great staff! Our room was underwhelming for $500 a night. The bathroom floor was dirty in the corners and we found several long strands of hair in the shower pan. The furniture in our room had some damage on it and needs to be replaced. Beds were comfortable but firm. The rooms were nicer and cleaner at the Holiday Inn Express down the street.
