The staff was very nice throughout the hotel—from valet, to check in, to restaurants, etc. The room was clean so I did not mind it was a little bit of an older property. The food was good here as well. We enjoyed the poolside offerings as well as the food from the restaurants. There is even an option to get ice cream at the coffee bar next to the pool. The bar at the pool also had good drinks. However, please remember to bring your ID with you while you are swimming to be served.The pool was very nice and heated so my kids were happy to stay in the water into the night. The resort is conveniently located next to the beach. You are able to walk down the steps off the pool area, cross the streets and be at the beach. This is a nice resort for a quick in town romantic stay or a local break for families. It is very peaceful here. I enjoyed my stay and definitely plan on coming again.

My only complaint is the swimming pool. Filthy. I believe new equipment is in store the filtration system is definitely not working. I felt like we were in human sludge! Yuk.

Having everything included is nice. Staff are well intended but there were several times that I would request something and then they would forget about it and I’d have to go hunting it down (unlocking car from valet, ordering drinks and food orders at the pool etc..). The room view was nice the first two days until workers started working on the resort roof two days in. Pool was very nice. Hot tub was filthy every time we used it. Spring break activities for families was a nice touch.

When we arrived we had planned on going to the pool & hanging out at the swim up bar. This was the whole reason we booked this hotel. Well it was 86 & sunny outside & we were told it was closed because of the weather. Front desk told us it would reopen momentarily & one of the cabana boys told us it was not reopening at all that day. Needless to say, my husband & I were extremely upset about this. For me to spend that much on a room & not be able to use all the amenities that are advertised is a disgrace. We will never stay at this Resort again. Everyone we talked to told us a different story. Well we left to go have drinks somewhere else & several hours later they finally reopened the pool bar. I had planned this stay for my husbands birthday & for the majority of the trip we were very upset from this incident & did not enjoy ourselves at all whatsoever. Such a waste of money, never again!!

the same Resort but different system between inside coffee and outside the pool, we buy the Ice cream inside the building pay with your room Number and they only ask for room number and last name, but when outside the pool they ask for room number, last name and last 4 of the DL, i'm not happy with it and ask them why inside did not ask for DL number but you did and they said it different system????? also the Exercise Room was closed everyday at 6pm????, we are not happy with place at all, we are going to vacation a lot every year and this place is one of the bad place.

Hotel room bathroom wasn’t very clean. Ordered breakfast to be delivered to our room and never received it…. Thought they would fix the situation but never did. Other than that vallet service was excellent and the guys that work the department are tentative to their guests and great.

The room was not as clean as I would have expected…dusty in some areas, crumbs on floor, big puddle of water on carpet in front of bed etc. Air condition went out twice but maintenance came and fixed it very quickly. I expected the rooms to be sound proof but unfortunately it was not. If you love pelicans there are so many flying right in front of your balcony.

Property was stunning. However the room was not. Pictures indicated updates but our floor was outdated, bathroom seemed grimy, and the ac was out in the hall. Given the price room did not reflect this.

Very pretty hotel and property. The scent that they had in the entryway was very overpowering. Parking was horrible, so we opted for valet which the young men were very courteous and attentive. Bathroom had black mold above the tub and dried urine on the base of the toilet which was really gross. Beautiful views from the balcony that we would have really enjoyed if it wasn't raining during our entire stay. Pool and hot tub were very nice but the hot tub was actually very small for being a high end hotel and was full of people smoking weed and drinking beer from glass bottles.

This is a resort property that is starting to show its age. The room was not very clean, smoke detector seemed damaged, bathroom was in rough shape with rust showing and bath tub needing tile replacement and grout. The property is nice, views are great, restaurants were excellent, but the property needs updating. The cost per night was not equivalent to the way the room presented.

It was our first stay after finally getting a weekend together as we work long hours and it was disappointing. The room was not up to par, TV was broken, noticable mold and extreme dust in shower and vents. I took pics and showed the front desk and they were also surprised! I already have bad sinus/allergy issues and it did not help. The did take a few bucks off but not worth what we paid to stay there. Asked for a hair dryer amd they literally brought up a very obviously broken hair dryer after we waited almost 45 minutes. When it was turned in it sounded like it was about to burn up. The second dryer was not in good working order either. They just didn't live up to what that hotel charges. We expected way more from our first stay there.

The outside of the property was very clean, as well as the main floor. However, the bathroom in our room had quite a bit of mold due to no ventilation. I feel due to the money I shelled out, this was unacceptable. There was also water coming in through the ceilings in the hallways. It had been raining and towels had been placed on multiple levels. It looked like there was previous water damage too.

We love this hotel. We were there for New Year's Eve. The hotel was still beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The outdoor pool was heated. We will definitely stay their again.

Our room was changed once because they gave us a concrete view of the entrance first. Second room had water damage and leaking from the ceiling. The whole floor smelled like old cigarettes. The carpet was so gross and outdated! The front desk treated us like crap I guess because we booked on Expedia! I asked for another arm band because I lost mine in the pool and they wanted my husband’s information so he came to the desk. Then they wanted all of the arm bands off of my kids that were already on the way to the beach. So we all gave back the three we had and received the 4 back. They said they were booked and couldn’t give us another room with double beds. I was like ok no problem I will just get an air mattress so the kids get to have a good time anyway. We have been staying at this hotel durning the second week of July for 10 years! I asked a different employee and she told me they were not full at all and could move me! I was literally infuriated! The beach had 90cal matter and bacteria that I was informed of by another guest which was just insane the hotel staff didn’t tell us when we arrived! So my kids DID NOT STEP FOOT ON THE BEACH! We went to the pool and a large number of guest that seemed to be drunk started singing and brought down a huge speaker cussing and making racial remarks was also a horrible event that took place! The pool manager James had to talk with them on three different occasions! I didn’t feel safe with biracial kids at all and they were scared!

Stayed on 12th floor. Decided to park own car. They make you park in the back and enter thru the back entrance. Plenty of self parking. Beautiful lobby but you never see it if you self park. Pool was packed with umbrellas only available with day beds and cabanas which required reservation and separate fee. Room was nice with balcony of great view of the pool and beach. Starbucks available, and very good steak house in lobby floor. On our last night, couple next door was fighting all night and kept us up until 4am. Would stay again.

The resort is beautiful both in and out. My favorite area is the pool. It really made me feel like I was in a tropical paradise, which is exactly what I wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful all around from the front desk, restaurant staff, pool staff, and housekeeping. Club 10 (the 10th floor for adults only) was fantastic! It was peaceful and quiet. My room was spacious. The bed was so incredibly comfortable. The ocean view and pool view was awesome. Club 10 offers complimentary in room breakfast up to $40. This was a surprise perk I didn’t know about until I got there. This made my stay even better! I highly recommend staying at this wonderful resort! I will be back!

The staff was outstanding. Daniela at the front desk and Sharon at Grotto were excellent. The Hotel entrance and lobby are beautiful. We enjoyed the restaurants on the property and the walkable ones. We paid extra for the Executive room which advertised snacks were available as well as Continental Breakfast. The room was at the top floor but the balconeys are very small. The view was good. The bed was comfortable but the first night we were warm because the patio door leaked and the wind blew in during the night. Our bathroom had an awful smell and we could hear the elevator all night. The snacks were always available which were water bottles, small bags of nuts, and candy. We expected better for the price. Daniela had our door fixed the first day and we slept better that night but the elevator noise and bathroom smell were not pleasant. We were disappointed at the warmth of the pool. Outside temps were mid-80's but the pool is very shallow and not 4' at the deepest as stated. We valet parked our car and it is parked in the front so sustained the salt and bird droppings. The staff were excellent and we never waited long for our car.

The resort is in a convenient location if you are planning to visit the beach. All rooms are facing the beach and the view is amazing. The only downside is parking. If you don’t choose valet parking for $32 per night you have to park on the back side of the hotel. When I checked out to my surprise there was a $15 charge per night to self park.

Unfortunately, there was a longer waiting time at check-in and checkout. It seemed like the staff wasn’t prepared for a larger amount of guests to check in at the typical check in time which was disappointed. Only two registers were open.

I am completely and utterly livid right now. I made reservations and paid for my rooms in advance which should have included all fees. When I got there to check in the tell me that have to give them a credit card for all incidentals which is standard I know. So I tell them ok use the card I paid with. The man tells me my card was declined. I’m like what the hell there is no way. I thought well maybe it’s my card thinking it’s fraud or something. So I gave him another card. They did not give me a receipt when I left after I asked them for one. They couldn’t print it so they were supposed to email it to me. Get home no email. Then I logon to my credit card to see why it was declined. Guess what it wasn’t declined. I look at the other credit card and lo and behold it’s charged also. So I call them. The lady on the phone says the charges will drop off in 5-10 days. It didn’t take 5-10 days to charge me twice. It also didn’t take 5-10 days to misrepresent what I was being charged for. I was told I was being charge 100.00 dollars a day for incidentals. Then I’m looking and I was charged 480.00 instead of 400.00. So when I called they tell me well there is a 20.00 resort fee too. You booked through a third party so it wasn’t included in what you prepaid. I hate people trying to rip me off. I also hate being lied too.

The property was really nice. They had live music by the lobby. Not a quit stay. The rooms are definitely not sound proof. We could hear people taking at the other side of our room. We experience people doing pranks by the elevator at the 11th floor at 3am in the morning. At the pool the bar tender had to close out the tab twice due to “shift change” even though it was the same staff. We still had a good time at the pool and enjoyed the nice ocean views. :)

The San Luis Resort is a very nice property . Very clean . Staff was very friendly as well however , I felt that they were understaffed for breakfast . I wanted to buy a cup of coffee from the lobby cafeteria and it took forever to get it ( there was only one person checking out and preparing the coffee . Same thing happened when we went to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

First of all they had canceled my reservation but still had a room. The staff expected a tip for everything they did, one guy stood in our room talking while I was on the phone until we tipped him. Then watch your bill, others will charge things to your room without you knowing

Great luxury hotel with great restaurants. Had anniversary dinner at The Steakhouse and it was fine dinning at its finest. The pool was large with plenty of chairs and also had a section of chairs to tan away from the pool. The tablet in the room let you order room service, towels, or make reservations. They have an IHOP and Rainforrest cafe adjacent to the property part of the property. With the wristbands I could open room, access property amenities, and pay using the wristband.

We loved our stay! The staff was absolutely amazing and really went above to help our family. Loved the location and especially the pool with the poolside bar. Only complaint would be lack of shade if you were not in a cabana. On site restaurants we great, especially the Grotto.

The massage therapist were great and spa was good except the closed the sitting room while we were getting our massages. Breakfast that morning was okay a bit expensive and the waitress cleared our table when we went to get refills and our phone and sun glasses were still on the table.

loved the pool area and the swim up bar. A little disappointed when i was told i could sit outside for breakfast and it would be about 10 minutes for service but after 45 finally went in and ate inside. i understand about help but be honest. also dispointed that i couldn't bring food from outside like a sub and eat in the outdoor area. sometimes you just want something simple and inexpensive and not sit in your room

The pool and entrance are beautiful. Hot tub wasn’t working all the way, but was good enough. Wobbly facet in shower is the only minor issue that made getting hot water difficult. Staff is very nice. The shops on property were very nice and as upscale as most would want. The breakfast takes forever if you order off the menu, so choose the buffet.
