This was our first family trip to the Gaylord. I booked it because it looked very nice, and the water park looked to be fun. The room rate was $337/night so I expected it would be a decent size but it was not! The check-in process was horrible from the moment we pulled up to valet. First the valet employee had a frown on her face and appeared to not want to be there. She did not help us unload our luggage from the vehicle to the luggage cart. She was happy to stand there and watch us. Once we got into the building, the check-in line was literally 40-50 deep. It's obviously a busy place, no problem so we thought. We figured it would be efficient like Las Vegas. WRONG! We stood in line for almost an hour to check-in. Horrible throughput. It was about 3:00 in the afternoon. We chalked it up to perhaps a bad day and not enough people to check-in, but that seemed to be the theme everyday we walked by the check-in area. Like I stated, our room rate was $337/night in the vineyard tower. The room was clean but very small. I went down to the desk everyday for an upgrade but was told it was too busy and to come back the next day to see if there were cancellations. After three days of waiting in line for more than 30 minutes, gave up on that idea. The water park area was not fun on Saturday and Sunday due to the fact that there were too many people and wild kids not behaving. Can't say we will ever book there again due to throughput and rude staff we encountered.

Loved everything only minus was no microwave anywhere lol, and with little kids who want to eat after we've eaten and we try to warm up they're food , we can't. Overall loved, the kids did to. Wish we didn't have to pay for self parking . Since the stay itself and everything else is pretty expensive. Great staff, great environment. Definitely recommended it to all my friends and family to try it out.

Shower would not shower. Stayed half faucet and half Shower head. Bedroom phone did not work. Check in staff, Meg, amazing and kind. Man directing people at water park area was rude! Other guests agreed. Valet left a lot to be desired. Would not valet here again. They need more help. Isaac at valet was rude beyond measure on my day of check out. My teenagers were even quite shook as we drove away. It put a bad taste as we left an otherwise fun stay.

The self-parking was a long distance from the hotel and over-priced. Also the in and out of parking terminals weren't working properly which delayed us getting in and out. We didnt get anything extra for the daily resort fee so feel like it was just an add on fee to increase the price of the room.

Beautiful property and clean basic rooms. Pool area was very small and way too noisy. Unable to even have a conversation with the person sitting next to me. The bar was also lacking. Only serving low quality drinks. Won't stay again.

This is our second stay and it was just as great as the first. I love how beautiful yet laid back this resort is. The food is always delicious and the staff is so friendly. We plan on making our stay at The Gaylord a yearly tradition. The only I recommend is to check the closure dates for their waterpark. We were sad we didn’t get to go this year because it was closed for the season.

The bathtub in room 3145 was dirty and the tub faucet was broken, wouldn’t go all the way up so the water pressure was everywhere. Room service took an hour and food was cold. The smoke alarm green light kept flashing during the night, it was like a strobe light. The ac/heater in room was not consistent with what I fixed it to be.

We did tell the the lady when we checked out how our room was dirty . The sink was broke and did not work. 2 family members got so sick from eating at the Italian restaurant zepolle that we had to cut our stay short . My youngest woke up with bites all over her body . We now have 2 doctor visits we were not expecting to do. The morning staff at the water park who take your orders were 1 start. We had the girl tell us she was to busy to take our order because she had 10 tickets to put in, then when her shift was going to end she asked us if we wanted to keep our check open or close it out we said open because we planned to stay longer she came up to us and said hey I was suppose to go home 40 mins ago can you pay for your ticket . This is at 2:30-3:00pm. We felt like we were being told we couldn’t order anymore or that we’re Inconveniencing her by wanting to have our ticket open . The hotel needs updates we were on the 9th floor . It is so out dated . We never get out or vacation and for such a special time to be ruined . A lot at the Marriott over the years, we stay every year in Flagstaff at a Marriott hotel, and so for Gaylord to be a part of the Marriott we just expected so much more Extremely disappointing the way the room was and how dirty it was and just how you felt like you needed to go home and shower because it just felt disgusting and didn’t smell clean. It smelled like nobody had stayed in that room for years like it had been locked up.

The room Smelled terrible like mildew and smoke ,. I complained and they sent some one to Sanitize the room it didn’t help any . Woke up the next morning with severe allergies red itchy eyes . Was very un happy with the room after paying $569 for one night never again

Paid $400 for the smallest cabana for 2 people. The cushions on the lounge chair were extremely dirty. You couldn't bring out the chairs to tan and there were no available chairs outside f cabana. So we were stuck inside and not able to relax and tan. Many ants. Definitely not worth the price. Bugs in room. The Mexican Cantina's fajitas and chicken enchiladas were terrible even after we sent them back. Not god flavor and fajitas cold but rice etc. was hot even after waiting a long time for the food. We didn't even take the left overs which was 90% of food.. Service was extremely slow. The Texas Station serviced us undercooked fish in the fish and chips order. Trees and plants very nice but this time not a good experience at the Gaylord. Not sure we will return. Spent well over $1,500 for 3 nights even with Marriot Bonvoy points used.

The Christmas decorations are incredible. However, the condition of our rooms were sub par. Shabby, dirty and smelly. The restaurants are really nice so better to just make a day trip of this place. I will not stay here again.

I live in the area so came to the Gaylord for a staycation, rest and relaxation. In this regard it was a mistake to choose a room overlooking the atrium with balcony because they have music going from apparently 830am until 1030pm. I was tired and ready to go to bed by 10pm but someone was still performing music in the atrium. So lesson learned. The guest before me had apparently set the alarm for 6am. So I got an early wake I didn’t want. The room was clean. The bathroom decor needs updating as is from another era with yellow gold colored soap dish to match the yellow gold tile floors. My room had a tub shower combination. Overall the feeling was not modern. I did enjoy the lights show in the Atrium after 9pm, the sound of the waterfall, and the view of foliage below from my balcony. My in-room dining service was good also - the chicken quesadillas were tasty.

For the price I just wasn’t impressed. Rooms are extremely small, ac was not working good, decor so out of date. Trash cans in room are tiny, employees either are rude, look unhappy or give you wrong information. If you’re an adult without kids idk why you would come here. I will say the food at the Italian restaurant was great.

Paid close to $500/night for our room. Definitely, the room wasn't even close to a $500/night room. The property wasn't full either. I've stayed in Hampton Inn's with as good or better rooms...regularly. Walls are paper thin. We had a screeming baby in a room next to ours all night. Obviously, the screaming baby isn't the hotel's fault but the paper-thin walls are. It was a decent stay; just way too expensive. The Gaylord is a great place if your attending a convention. Other than that, and the waterpark, not a lot to do but walk around a massive place. If you want to shop for toys, clothes, and house goods, well, then this may be a resort, but other than that, what does it offer?! The water park is great. It made the stay enjoyable. However, since we checked out, I parked at the water park only to be told I couldn't park there and I'd have to go back to the Gaylord, pay for a full day of parking there, and then shuttle back to the park. Fine. This is what I did. Wasn't a big deal until I found out that plenty other families parked at the water park. Just way too expensive for what you get, which isn't much unless you're enamored with large places. Oh, the property art is nice.

Great place to stay with beautiful views of the atrium. Restaurants a bit on the spiny side, but to be expected in such a nice place. The rooms had enough space for a couple but would be a bit cramped for a family of four or more. Only thing we felt missing was a microwave in the room. We would return again, though for a nice upscale place to stay sometime.

We had an issue with our wifi and were ultimately able to log on; however we had to be on a call with their tech support and provide our MAC address to our device. If we wanted to connect another device the same was needed. I just ended up using my hot spot :/ . We were given a wristband upon check in, it would have been much more convenient if the other wristband would have been given out as well. We needed a second one to sled and ice skate. The line for that curved around the convention center. We also had an issue with the noise level at our adjoining room, security was able to take care of it right away.

The Waterpark and the resort it's self was great. It wasn't until we were up in our room and was so noisy. We could hear everything!! People were so loud walking to and from their rooms. Slamming doors yelling playing music....certainly wasn't expecting this from the Gaylord. We had to make a noise complaint at 1 am because our neighbors were so loud. Didn't get much rest at all. Won't be going back to stay but certainly will to visit.

The resturant we wanted suddenly cancelled our reservation. Had to eat in a lesser restaurant. No steak available. Too late to go to another hotel. Valet took more than 20 minutes to get ticket. This property was a joy from check in to check out. It was quick, efficient, and the staff were friendly. We were greeted kindly from various staff members. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment as soon as we walked in the door to check in. The front staff was not very friendly, we waited to check in for about 30 minutes. Once we checked in, we were informed that paradise island was closed during our stay except for The last day of our stay. Parking was expensive and we felt like we were being held hostage. When we walked into our room, it smells very old, and we were unable to cancel our reservation due to booking through Expedia. All of the restaurants closed very early, and there was a lot of walking involved. The pool was definitely the best part of our stay. Would not recommend and will not be going back. It is unfortunate, we were really excited about the mother daughter trip.

Our stay at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine was just ok. The resort is beautifully designed, with a stunning atrium and top-notch amenities. One of our rooms had a partial atrium view, which you have to pay extra for partial and full atrium view. We were so far away that we could not see any of the atrium although we paid for it. The room was a small for the price but it was spotless, and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed. The resort rooms are very outdated, for the price of the rooms they are in need of renovations. The staff was friendly, attentive, and they were located all throughout the resort so we wanted for nothing! The location is perfect, close to downtown Grapevine, the mall and the airport. Going during the Christmas holiday is very busy! Not to mention they allow people who are not staying at the resort to come in for the day and experience the activities which makes it overcrowded! Everything at the resort is overpriced, $25 a day for self-parking, $45 a day for valet. Also, a $28 a day resort fee that they don’t tell you about until you check out. All of the Christmas activities were pretty pricey and all purchased separately. Brunch for 2 adults and 1 child was $140 which does not include a tip. I would rate the resort a 3 and the service and employees a 5. The Gaylord is an excellent choice if you don’t mind spending a lot of money on basic outdated rooms and overpriced dining and entertainment. A return stay will not be in our future.

Nice property. Seems very well suited for conferences. The walk from the room to the parking garage was a but much especially being at the very end of the hall on our floor. Planes were flying over all day but not too loud. I wish there were more dining options. Two of the three restaurants were closed the two days we were there but was able to find good spots nearby.

The hotel is starting to show its age, at least in the summer where it seems they arent putting in much effort, and instead are waiting for their big money Christmas sesson. There was very little entertainment, and most restaurants and bars were closed. Only the sports bar and Italian restaurant are open for dinner. We came here to enjoy a nice air conditioned weekend where we never had to leave the hotel. But, instead, we had to leave just to find dinners.

I believe the waiter that served us was Julio from Elsavador was Excellent , so much so that we ate at the steakhouse twice. He was awesome. Funny knowledgeable, and very professional.

Very expensive parking, food in 2 restaurants was poor. Clean room and grounds.

Everything was wonderful! The staff was lovely. The grounfs were clean and beautiful. Everything was marvelous except the room service. It arrived cold and didnt taste very good. But the Riverwalk Cantina was great and the Old Hickory Stakehouse was out of this world delicious!!!! Get out of your room and experience these amazing eateries!!!
