Peninsula Island Resort & Spa - Beachfront Property at South Padre Island

Was only one day, so not much to say. Was clean hot tub was nice. Pool wasn’t heated. And the dreadful walk to the parking lot. Front desk was awesome, suggest to eat at dirty Alls down the road!! Balcony light don’t turn off😩

This place looks like it *UESED TO BE* really nice. It is severely outdated and in desperate need of remodel. Not too mention the place is insanely money hungry. Theyre shop has items that are very obviously dollar tree items marked up 5x. A cream that I've bought at dollar tree for $1.50 was $8. A burger meal that did not include a drink was $16 without tip and McDonald's is definitely better. The bar, the restaurant and the in-room mini bar do NOT have the quality to match its prices. The outside was a little better. The pools are nice but you can see multiple cracks around the edges that you need to be careful with. The boardwalk to the beach is good and lit at night. But all in all i spent over $400 for 2 nights and ive stayed at motel 6s with better conditions. Now the staff themselves are amazing. Everyone is very nice and diligent. I really do think this is the result of the owners cheaping out on renovations because cleanliness was not an issue. I definitely would not recommend this place until they renovate.

Room was clean

The day bed was in disarray, the water pressure was eh, the body wash was empty, and the water was 'very warm'. The view was of another hotel unless standing on the balcony and the 'do not do or be charged extra' list was extraordinary and made me feel uncomfortable with my stay.
