The location was right at the center of the city with tram station right next to the hotel entrance. Very easy communication to rest of the city either by a car or tram. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staffs and would strongly recommend this location for that alone. However, the facilities felt a bit worn down. For example: 1. Only one elevator button was working and even that was stiff. 2. Only one elevator was functional on day one, but they were working from the next day. 3. Couldn't get the treadmill from the gym working. 4. The pool was closed for the season and I feel it's a bit early to do this. All in all, I was happy at the location and staff, but would appreciate the facility improvement. But may be that's the best we can get at this budget.

The service is unparalleled. Which is what keeps me coming back! However, for the price point, the physical amenities of the building are disappointing. Duct tape holding the carpet together, dysfunctioning elevators, and torn curtains.

Train from the airport stops right outside. So close to everything, walk to Delta Center, convention hall, bars, restaurants and attractions. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. Used the gym and guest laundry located on the lower level.

The parking! The entrance door from parking lot did not work with the room card!! mentioned this problem to front desk and was told yes sometime it works and other times it doesn’t!! was told you can walk around to the front door, I and my sister both are handicapped as far as walking long distance, so not acceptable answer from staff!! maybe the door key card should be replaced!!

Honestly, almost everything about this hotel was great. It's centrally located, the parking is reasonably priced, the rooms are huge and clean, and the staff was welcoming. There were just a few items that needed to be addressed on the property - one, the pool was only open from 6-10 pm, which seemed odd; two, there was early construction in the parking garage, and the door to the garage was broken. They're working on those items, I imagine, so this hotel is a great place to stay.

The hotel was great. Parking was NOT GOOD. It says 6'4 clearance but that is not accurate. Unless you have a car its a craps game if your vehicle will fit in the parking garage.

Very nice hotel for a low price, my only issue was you have to pay for parking in a parking garage. It’s also more than $10-20 to park. The parking garage also has size limits that are also very limiting. Our normal size truck almost didn’t make it. Clean hotel with very friendly staff.

Spotless, super comfortable beds, great location, friendly and helpful staff, nice amenities, 24 hour coffee freshly ground per cup, breakfast foods available for purchase, gift shop, fridge and microwave in room, grocery store a 1/2 mile away, parking only 10 dollars a day in attached garage. The views of the mountains and the city are amazing. Great price. Location: to get from the airport can easily take the train which stops right in front of the hotel. I think it is the green line. The convention center is across the street. The bad: The hotel is closing in November (2025) to be replaced by a parking lot! This is a travesty because this hotel has it all.

The staff was super nice but the property is very old and outdated. Our hot tub in our room was cracked and the chairs had torn and pain dripped on wallpaper. The pool was pretty gross as well, didn’t look very well maintained.

The drains on sink and bathtub were very slow. I need up standing in water up to my ankles during shower. We advised the front desk as we checked out and she thanked us and said she would send referral to maintenance. The front of the building needed to be cleaned. Garbage.

This was a great hotel to stay during our trip to see antiques roadshow. It is in the perfect location right next to the temple and across from the train. Staff is very nice. Rooms are comfortable. Could definitely use some updating. The room had a big window with a view of downtown but the windows were very very dirty. It was a bit dusty too. The hotel is priced right. I would stay again.

Very clean older hotel. Our king room was a little small - hard to have 2 large open suitcases. Bathroom needs a new tub - it was majorly chipped in a few spots and the caulking was half missing or discolored. My shower went to all cold water 1/2 way through! I shut it off for a few minutes then when I turned it on to rinse off it was warm then back to the temp I had it at! My husband had no problem when he took his shower. Not sure what that was all about.

The room itself was good. Beds comfy and clean. Bathroom was another story. While clean, not in good condition. Water in the shower was backwards turned to hot it was cold and turned to cold it was scalding hot. There had been some damage to the shower area that was poorly repaired. Looked like a kid had done the caulking. And it looked like they just caulked over mildew. And Im amazed the shower head worked at all. It was so caked from hard water. I did report to the front desk but they didn't come across as super concerned. Especially considering the burn risk the shower posed to kids and the elderly. And for what they normally charge, paying for parking is crap. There is a cute little gift shop in the lobby.

Room was ok, needs were fine, bathroom was utterly disgusting. Mike growing in the shower to the point we decided not to even use the shower and just go home. Absolutely disgusting. There's a reason why this hotel is $75-100 cheaper than all other properties in the neighborhood.

The noise was awful! All night we were awakened by the cars going over metal plates sounding like gunshots. And we were on the 7th floor! Aside from that the room was extremely clean and the bed was comfy!

The staff was lovely and super helpful in all of my questions. They were also very accommodating when the plumbing issue happened. Got upgraded to an even nicer room though I really liked the one I had, so I had a great experience both times. Big shoutout to Giselle also for helping me personally with the bath issue, 10/10 and 5 stars if I could.

The location is fantastic. Just down the street from the Delta center. The 2nd day I was there many card keys stopped working. So annoying. The staff is VERY slow, so I had to wait in line holding groceries. Really unhappy about that. The carpet in the room is horrible - hideous. The day I checked out my parking pass didn’t work when I tried to leave. It wouldn’t let me scan it to leave (scan in was challenging too). I had to park the car, run in, wait in line, then get them to fix it. Despite the perfect location I doubt I’ll stay there again because these issues and the very slow staff was VERY annoying. There is zero curb appeal to this place.

Fantastic stay, second time staying here, sad that they will be tearing hotel down nov 2025 to make a parking garage. In the meantime it's close by all downtown features. Staff super friendly. Even had a medical emergency which they called us an ambulance and we're very knowledgeable and professional about everything, as well as genuinely concerned for our well being when we returned.

The front desk person working on the 15th of March was very rude. I called down for a late check out at 630 am and he responded with “I can’t authorize that, you are ungrateful” and then hung up on me. I’ve been waiting for the hotel to reach out about how I was treated. Just even an apology and have gotten nothing.

Location, location, location. This hotel is the best value for the neighborhood, walking distance from the Salt Palace Convention center, public transportation, and shopping/ dining areas. This is not a luxury hotel, but basic comfort and convenience, which was just fine for me. It is an older property, but it’s pretty well maintained. The signage was a bit confusing, as I was looking for the Best Western sign, and they only have a “Plaza” sign that is visible from a distance.

A solid budget friendly option for SLC. Central location right by Temple Square and the green line airport tram stop. Staff were friendly, room was small but comfortable with a good bed and decent coffee. En suite was dated but worked. Only downside was the WiFi signal wasnt very strong.

Excellent location. The lobby was a little dated. Room veryclean. Breakfast available for purchase, but at the price of the room it should have been included. Same with the parking. No shuttle to the airport. You have to take the train. The water indicators were backwards causing a delay in taking a shower. Pool area not very inviting, but you're probably not going there for the pool. Location is ideal if things are open. While Temple Square is under construction, you can stay elsewhere and take advantage of the free parking provided by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (parking may need validation at the Conference Center.

The hotel is just old. Room was nice size and WiFi was good. Just around the corner from the FamilySearch library which is why I was there. They have a small breakfast room that you pay for your items. Otherwise you must walk a ways to find food. There is a Marriott just down the block with a Starbucks in it. Probably more expensive but a lot nicer. The light rail stops right outside the hotel so that’s very convenient. Not the hotel’s problem but there are many unhomed people around, which is a little scary for a solo woman traveler. Nobody bothered me tho. The Temple is undergoing a 3-year project to strengthen it against earthquakes. As a result, the temple is surrounded in scaffolding so you can’t really see the outside of it. I was there to do genealogy research so I didn’t plan on visiting the temple. The people at the family search library are tremendous. The facilities are amazing and it’s all free.

An older property but very cozy and comfortable at a great price. Great service, especially the little breakfast cafe which was very convenient. For those who attend Dragonsteel this hotel was a significant cost savings, less than half the price of the designated convention hotels and much easier to access. Highly recommend.

Location was great. No restaurant. Small space with noodles and a sandwich or two to buy and reheat in the microwave.No breakfast included.You could buy a sausage patty sandwich or cold cup of cereal for breakfast but not much stock of either. The small breakfast area was open from 7am to 10am. There was a coffee machine. In the lobby with 24 hr free coffee. The coffee was great. No coffee maker in room but there was a fridge (with no freezer) and a microwave. Overall a good stay except for available food.

Clean & comfortable room on the 11th floor overlooking Symphony Hall and the Salt Lake valley. There is no restaurant. Just some snack food from the gift shop. One hard boiled egg was $3.50. I walked across the street to the Starbucks in the Marriott.

Room was clean , beds comfortable, but despite lowering the thermostat, the room remain too warm. Great location but no food available. There is no restaurant in the hotel. The nearest restaurant was a couple of blocks away.

We love this place. Number one on our list every time we come to salt lake. Onsite parking has chargers for electric cars. Stay away from the breakfast, it’s not free and it’s gross. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms smell fresh and clean. Rooms are clean, the bathrooms could use an update but otherwise fine! Beds and pillows are average. Super close to temple square. Walked there no worries with a 2 year old and 6 year old solo. Tram line right outside the hotel.

We took the green line of the Trax and were dropped off right across the street from the front door of the hotel. The breakfast is not included but easy-to-prep and take-to-go items are available for purchase. I wish I could stay here again for the Dragonsteel convention next year, but it did not show up as available when I searched. Clearly, I can recommend the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel by Best Western.

I didn’t like that housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8 a.m the day I was checking out. Woke me out of a dead sleep. On top of that it was daylight savings so technically it was still 7a.m. Completely unnecessary! If checkout is 11, wait until that time to knock!!! Hotel is very outdated.
