Days Inn by Wyndham Alta Vista

This was a 2-star hotel pretending to be a 3-star. Cleanest hotel I've stayed in since Covid. Best TV options. I usually take wipes in with me to wipe off stuff missed by maids. Didn't need a single wipe. Bathroom furnished nicely. Breakfast was unbelievable esp. for 2-stars...2 choices of eggs-- scrambled or fried. Came in late, but didn't have to wait for front desk bc she did her work in lobby instead of back room. Off the beaten path. Mostly construction workers, etc. back door was taped so door wouldn't lock. Not sure how comfortable I'd be if I were female. But, as an ugly fat male, I felt more than comfortable.

This hotel was NOT worth what we paid per night. It is absolutely an OLD hotel. The room smells like old furniture and mildew. The mattress is about 20 years old, sinking in the middle, and the box spring is coming apart. The curtains were ripped in several places. The room door appeared as though it had been kicked, and no one bothered to repair it. This is a $59 to $70 per night hotel, not $200 or more! An absolute DISAPPOINTMENT👎👎. Also, there is no elevator, so don't come with a lot of luggage, I'm just saying. The pictures that are advertised for this hotel are buy-bait.

No elevator, morning desk staff could not look up from her phone , no food for breakfast we waited while they found the cook, we gave up after 15 minutes it was 8:40 am

Upon entering the front door of the facility, you will be taken aback by the overwhelming foul odor that occupies the space. Do you have a bad back? Don’t worry about it, you will work out all the kinks as you manhandle all your belongings up the stairs to the second floor since the facility is not equipped with an elevator! Once you have finished your ascent and meander to your room, feel free to kick off your shoes and relax in the full size bed complete with what appears to be unlaundered sheets and pillow cases, unidentifiable particulates, and ants.

The staff were cordial and polite. The room was neat and tidy, but it had food odors and wall plugged air fresheners to make it smell better. The beds were fine comfort wise, but one mattress was terribly stained. Fortunately, there was a mattress pad, so we just dealt with it. The bedding was clean and comfortable. There was spilled food or something white behind the tv stand, which was slightly pulled away from the wall (otherwise I wouldn’t have thought to check). The bathroom was fine. The shower head was stained with black stuff on one side, but the water pressure was good and the tub and shower curtain were clean. It was a little odd that there was no toilet paper holder and the toilet paper was just set on on the bottom of the sink vanity. Breakfast was good. There was a nice selection of hot and cold foods, as well as fruit and good attendance by the staff. The rest of the hotel was fine. The gym looked good and well-maintained. The parking lot was okay, but a little anxiety-producing if you are a female coming in alone at night.

We were very unsatisfied with this property. Upon check-in, we were told there was no elevator. There was also no staff to help us carry luggage upstairs to our assigned rooms. There was a need to use two remote controls to access the television, but there was only one remote in the room. After asking multiple times and multiple staff members, we received the second remote on the third day of our stay. The room was very stuffy and smelled of mildew. The windows did not open, so we had to keep the air conditioner on high to air out the room. The hallway carpets were soiled, and we noticed that they were not cleaned for our entire stay. Additionally, though we understand that water-saving efforts precluded daily towel replacement, we were very unhappy to find that room housekeeping would not be supplied daily. On multiple days, we returned to the rooms to find that the beds had not been made. We are most unhappy with these issues, specifically because we could not change the dates to match our travel dates. So, although we only stayed in one room for three nights and the second room for four nights, we PAID IN FULL for full nights for both rooms and received poor service throughout the duration of our trip.

The front desk staff was very friendly. The gym facilities were wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. Excellent 😊

No parking spaces when I got there at night. Whole motel had a weird vegetable smell. Where was the elevator?

We had a wonderful stay and plan on staying there again this Friday. Mostly Everything was wonderful. I used the gym facilities. However, breakfast was disappointing. The hot water for my tea was ice cold. There was no batter mix to make the waffles, juices were watered down. Once I brought this to the employee’s attention, she took care of it all.

This place looked sketchy. Instant regret when I arrived. The room had one of those doors that goes to another room in case you want adjoined rooms. Also, we arrived at night and there needs to be more lighting on the side of the building. Stains on the dirty carpet…just gross.

Stains on the towels. Questioned if the sheets had even been changed - cleaned. Smelled like everything was just washed in water. You could see boot prints in the bathroom. Lots of hair in the shower. Every time the AC cut on it sounded like it was about to break. Having to use two remotes on a tv that come up in Spanish. Only two eggs left no waffle mix. Breakfast drink machine was broken no sign. The girl just watched everybody figure it out. It looked like she was wearing Spider-Man pajamas.

I found a bed bug in my bed when i got up after the first night.

heat and air were effective. breakfast was excellent! everything was fresh and hot. especially liked the hot potatoes, eggs and sausage! even tried sausage gravy and biscuits,,,biscuits were freshly made and so soft! room and lobby and areas were all very clean..will definitely recommend to others...one of best Days Inn, that we have stayed. keep up the good work!

The stay was good, it was quiet and the staff were friendly. The only problem was that I found two cockaroaches in my room.

I had 2 rooms for a conference that we were attempting in Lynchburg. I didn’t eat the breakfast because there were roaches in the bedrooms and they switched our rooms twice. The 2nd time had other bugs in the rooms and a bunch of dead bugs on the window sill. The toilet was broken and the rooms had a bad odor. I never slept under the covers in fear that there might be bedbugs since there were so many other bugs.

Sheets has stains and bath tubs has hair all over seems like no one cleaned. I trusted Expedia and booked the room . What a shame

We were aghast when we entered our room and discovered multiple insect infestations. We also were taken aback by what appeared to be human bodily fluids on the mirrors, sofa, headboards, and carpets. Two of us had difficulty breathing within about 3 minutes of entering the room, due to how thick the air freshener was. Because we were afraid of being bitten by the many living insects, we left after about 5 minutes, after having taken extensive video - it was so comically bad, we were worried nobody would believe us if we didn’t have video proof! Thankfully, we found a room at a hotel about 20 minutes away (which had no bugs or obvious bodily fluids). TRAVELERS BEWARE!!!

The room was always like humid tropical rain forest even with air on. Everything stayed damp, all of our clothes were damp. We got caught in the rain on second day, hung all our clothes up for days, they never dried. There is mold in the room on the furniture. Every night when we came back there were a bunch of construction workers in parking lot, making inappropriate comments, whistles, as we were getting our stuff out of the car, which was very uncomfortable. Several park their trucks facing the hotel and just sit in their truck. They can easily see which light goes on to figure out what room we are in. Everything in area was sold out otherwise we would have moved. We tried to leave day early with 36 hr notice they refused. The housekeeping staff was very nice and accommodating. That’smy positive about this place.

The tvs didn’t work, beds were extremely uncomfortable, no place to hang anything, no iron or iron board, no mirrors. This was by far the worst experience at a Days Inn. The only thing that was ok was the staffs customer service and the breakfast.

Clean and quiet. TV remotes had no batteries and the phone in the room didn’t work, but front desk was quick to get us squared away. Coffee/breakfast the next morning was nice.

Is the room was clean, the bed confortable, breakfast was included and there was plenty variety. My key did not opened the back door, even though they changed it twice. In the room the phones do not work, one of the lamps did not have a lightbulb, and the lamps shades were broken and dated, also the desk chair that was in the room was peeling off..... honestly it felt like the furniture was the leftover from another hotel...lol but all the staff was very helpful and amicable.

the bed did not have true bed bug covers on the bed and the room humidity levels made the room musty

TV cable was horrible. Unable to watch. Carpet and room needs to be updated.

Last minute stay. Overall great experience the hotel is outdated and could use a technology upgrade. You could add phone charging system to make it easier for costumers.

The front desk clerk was very nice however the property overbooked and instead of the king room we reserved we got a room with two full size beds, not even a queen!!! Less than acceptable. There are children running through the hallway on the first floor after 10 pm. Yelling and playing unsupervised. Very disappointed.

This property was very convient and reasonably priced for a quick stop through Altavista. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was available and friendly. I would stay here again.

The manager didn’t ask for my ID and credit card upon checkin. The room phones didn’t work. When I called the front desk from my cell about it, the manager was very rude. ‘Landlines are obsolete and everyone has cell phones.’ When I tried to call the front desk several times on checkout day, there was no answer and the voicemail was full. There were some bugs in the bathroom. There were 3 guys hanging out and smoking near the side door, day and night. There was trash scattered across the parking lot. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the water pressure was strong, and the air conditioning worked well. I would not stay here again.

Friendly Staff Free Breakfast was better than most free Continental Breakfast. It was just a quick overnight stay with my wife but all was pretty good. I would stay again no problem

Poor communication. No English speaking people at the front desk. Incompetent to comprehend. Had to request a hair dryer. Didn’t understand. Used a neighboring guests hair dryer.

The property was safe, clean and quiet. Staff are accommodating and nice. Hotel is conveniently located right off of the highway, and about a mile from dining and grocery stores like Food Lion and Walmart. Really small town where people are friendly and mild mannered. If we’re in the area again, will definitely stay in this hotel again. Overall a pleasant experience.

I didn’t like the breakfast that was offered; the food was subpar and the items were not available at the designated time. The water in the bathtub and the sink was slow to go down.

The rate was good, the rooms where clean. The front desk at check-in wasn’t bad, but they could have presented themselves more or a little professional. The hotel offered free breakfast, but both days you had to compete with the hotel's employees who ate and got their food before the guest.

Breakfast was a treat! There were fresh cooked eggs over easy or scrambled eggs with veggies along with expected self-cook waffles and other breakfast items.

Rooms clean & smell great & breakfast was very good. Even though the waffle machine was broken. It was nice to have something above the normal continental breakfast.

This hotel’s staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and had a decent variety. The room was clean & spacious although the mattress had a dip in the middle making it a challenge to get out of bed. The bathroom light fixture didn’t work & a lamp was placed in the bathroom for light however it would go off & on sporadically. It is a great no frills hotel that was convenient to my nieces wedding venue.
