Pool was out for 3 days, I stepped on a screw/nail in the hallway on the 4th floor maintenance pulled it out. Ice machine on 4th floor didn’t work and had no signage posted. Breakfast was AWFUL!! Hot as hell in the main area and hallways. Room smelled old and musty. Vent in bathroom was dirty and had mold on it

Rooms are old and out dated, staff was rude. Pool was closed during visit and wasn’t not advertised that it would be closed. Only reason we stay at this hotel was for the outdoor pool.

The area was fine but the elevator was constantly down, the staff failed to replenish shampoo and soap in the room, despite repeated requests. The front desk was rude and indifferent. We will unlikely stay here again unless no other options available

The staff was awesome. The hotel elevators were out an entire day and that was really hard on our kness, we were on the 4th floor. The breakfast bar was great and again, staff was really nice and helpful.

The hotel is run down and needs updating. The bed was old and creaky, it sounded like a piece of plywood was under the mattress. One of the elevators was out of service for the next 3 months as posted on its door. The gal at the front desk who checked us in didn’t greet us or smile, quite unfriendly. We won’t be back there again.

Pool was not available due to "routine maintence". The folks working on the pool were jackhammering the bottom of the empty pool. Not routine at all. Front desk gave me a discount which we appreciated but really....this pool won't be usable for a long time. In a gracious world, they would notify their guests, but we all know they won't.

The two star is for the pool having been out of service and not planning to be repaired until July at the earliest (one of the main reasons I booked this property). It was a known condition yet I was not ever notified as such. Very disappointing.

Front desk staff never so much as looked up most of the time The room was unbearably musty smelling, we had to keep the a/c at a low setting at all times to lessen the stench. The door was heavy & slammed constantly, plus the entry space (narrow) made coming and going, especially with luggage and the heavy door, unnecessarily difficult. Husband sustained a bruise on his lower arm at one point. Hallway was overly warm & humid. This town is where my grown kids live so we visit at least annually - we would never ever stay again

This place needs some TLC ASAP! One of 2 elevators out of order, Ice machines on 1st and 3rd floor not working (didn't see if 2nd floor one was working). Stained coach and Duvet cover in our room. Needed to prop up one corner of the refrigerator to keep it balanced. Even the lights were out over the front desk at check out. Needless to say, this is not what we've come to expect from a Hamption Inn.

First time stay at this hotel in the area for my daughter's college move in. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff at check-in who offered a special rate code for future stays. The room was clean and decent. Maintenance came right away when I had trouble with the tv and thermostat. My son enjoyed the pool and breakfast was nice too. Will definitely return!

The hotel is in desperate need of remodeling. There was mold spots in the shower grout, the carpet in the room was snagged and old and the hallways were very stuffy while our room was very very humid. Also the price gouging for graduation weekend at JMU was ridiculous. Definitely Not at all worth the 325$ we ended up paying per night for a two night stay. I will never stay here again.

The room was so dirty. The carpeting needs replacing. There were tears, dirty spots and even blood stains. I couldn’t use the phone in the room to call downstairs because there was so much grime on the phone. Walls in the rooms were beat up. The hallway not much better. Obviously whoever owns the place takes zero pride.

Hotel was clearly being renovated and the changes are good ones. The direct TV in our room never would load. We didn't need it, but I informed the front desk. The bathroom slide door is probably something that needs to go away or be upgraded, as it's lacking in privacy as it doesn't seal/close. Overall the staff was great and the improvements are welcomed. I love the location and will return after the renovations are over.

Arrived put on the 3rd floor and the elevator was not working. Tv didn’t work! It would turn on and turn off but could not change the channel therefore we only had the weather channel and no Netflix to connect to. SHOWER… scolding or cold there was no in between. Def will NEVER stay at this Hampton Inn again.

The reservation booked was for a queen bed, we were told that all queen bed rooms were not available, we were given a room with 2 double beds. That was ok. The other issue was the drain in the bathroom sink was super slow draining.

Upon arriving stood in line for 30 minutes waiting to check in. Entering our room we were supposed to have King room. Had 2 double beds. Front desk stated Expedia doubled booked and that rooms were booked a day before we arrived. On Expedia app it stated there were King rooms available. We had just booked the room 7 hrs prior to check in. They stated they had contacted Expedia for them to get in contact with us about overbooking of rooms. We never received any email or contact from anyone. The hotel would not adjust our bill. The room was small and dark due to limited lighting. The front desk manager that came in at 11:00 pm was rude and refused to even attempt to adjust anything. Blamed Expedia for everything.

It was a last-minute booking, and said pet friendly. When we got there, they charged us $50 for a pet fee, which was not advertised anywhere. It was late and we just decided to stay. Got keys to our room, and got up to our room where the keys did not work. The front desk person had to come up two or three times to try to get the keys to work when finally, we just asked for another room. Once we got to the second room, the toilet did not flush. Because there was only one person at the front desk and apparently working the entire hotel, she had to come up again, and we asked her to bring a plunger. But she didn’t bring a plunger, because she misunderstood the problem, so she had to go back down and get one. Finally the toilet was flushing…then we went to turn on the TV in the batteries for the remote or dead in the channels would not change. The air conditioning system sounded like a freight train and barely get any sleep. It just was one thing after another. The first desk clerk, who navigated most of our problems, was very nice. The desk clerk in the morning asked about our stay, and we told her all the details and her answer was, “Would you like a receipt?.

The hotel is older and a little dated but everything was very clean and had a great breakfast. I had a comfortable overall stay and would stay again. It’s approximately the half way point in my destination so it will definitely be a consideration for my next trip. And I felt SAFE!!

I really liked my stay, I came for the last home game at JMU and found my room to be very clean, the linens were fresh and clean, and the bathroom was super nice with a bathtub and shower. Breakfast this morning was delicious, I had a cheese omelette with sausage and potatoes and hot coffee and orange juice, and two tiny waffles - they also have cereal and oatmeal and toast and muffins and yogurt, etc. Really good value - my stay was around $100 when all the other hotels in Harrisonburg seem to be raising their rates to $300 or $400 per night to capitalize on game day crowd.

The food was mediocre at best, and the service was not very good considering it was move in weekend at a major college and they only had one person staffed at the breakfast area. They constantly ran out of items and so many people were constantly waiting for things they needed.
