Days Inn by Wyndham Petersburg/South Fort Lee

The property apparently is going through renovations. There was old furniture in the parking lots and outside of the room. They were taking up parking spaces. My room was not comfortable. My TV stopped working after the first night. The room wasn't cleaned, the phone in my room wasn't working where you could call the front office and someone had a dog in their car over night that barked when I came back to my room that evening.

I could not bring myself to stay there. I had trouble with the desk attendant understanding my english. Then I had t9 fin̈d a place to park and it was nowhere Near my room. Lastly, I just didn't feel safe because thwre were people smoking, sex in a car, bumming cigs, prostitution, Dealing. I tried to just sleep in my work vehicle because it didnt feel safe leaving it al9neand 47nning (even with the doors locked) but i woke up half an hour after finally falling asleep to someone looking in my window. Left immediately, no breakfast no sleep. Drove until i couldnt and slept in a gas station parking lot instead. The room itself was nice. The people allowed to linger and creep or work out of the hotel were yuck.

As far as Days Inns go, this one was pretty average. In person check-in was okay. In the bathroom sink area of my room, there were wires hanging out from the wall where a switch or plus used to be, but they weren't live. The beds were nice, with new frames and nice mattresses, so that was good. The pool was great, and a lot of families were using it since it as in the mid-high 90's during my stay. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. I would stay there again for the price.

Had to check in using a walk up window. Lobby was locked. In room lighting fixtures has rust on them. Bath tub looked like it was repainted and was peeling. The secondary lock (to open the door a little bit) was actually missing- broken off. Had to wait 10 minutes to checkout because she was cleaning the breakfast area with that door locked in the morning.

This location was perfect for us. The only thing was the pool was not open. Luckily we had friends staying at a nearby hotel so my son could enjoy the pool. The hotel allowed me to set up my grill in the far side of the parking lot. The housekeeping was fantastic. They are very thorough when cleaning rooms

To start off the pictures that show the property are not correct. The property is a dump/slum. I can't believe Wyndham would have their name associated with this property. When I first arrived a customer was complaining about how poor the room is, well below her standard. When I walked to my room which was on the second floor, I could not belive all the trash under the stairs, old tires, a 55 galoon drum, junk everywhere. Now the room they stated that they have been renovated. What decade? They placed VPF down all waves. The old carpet around was not removed. The AC was slow in cooling off the room. The bathroom was dirty. Stains on the wall that haven't been cleaned up. Microwave not working. I slept in my cloths. Now the best part, the pool was great to cool of from the 98 degree temp. Until the on young boy around the age of 16 deceided to use a bush that outside of the pool as a bathroom. After that I had to leave the pool area and forgo spending time at the pool. There was also no Emergency Evacation Plan that should be posted on the door in each room. No Fire Extinguisher mounted. Ture code violations. For a piece of mind stay somewhere else, not for yourself but for the safety issues. This place needs to be closed down and Wyndham needs to distance themself from the Days Inn.

Arriving after hours you need to check in from outside the lobby. We specifically stated at the window please make sure that the room you are giving us is a clean and presentable room. The room we were give was straight from 1980. Including a bedspread that said "welcome to the days inn." The room was musty and unmaintained. After going back to the outside window our room was changed to a "newly renovated " room. Granted new toilet, sink, tub, furniture, led lighting but it looks like I, an average DIY repairman, did the work myself. Paint on the new fixtures, label left on the tub, blue painters tape on the door handle.... i take it back, i work better than this. The clothes hangar bar is missing, there is no iron or ironing board words cant describe. Everytime that you move in the bed the frame squeaks...

Like the pool. Hate it's surrounded by cops. They come there to hang out and not work while on duty

I booked this place last minute. I'm an independent adjuster, so I'm never totally sure where my day will end. I found this hotel for under $100, which is hard to find these day, but i should've known better. They were in the middle of remodeling but put me in an older room that looked like it had mold on the carpet, smelled weird (probably the mold) and was next to a room with a bunch of stuff litterally stacked up all over the place. Then they tried to put me in a remodeled room and as I walked back to it, there was furniture stacked up on the back sidewalk and parking lot, probably from the rooms they were remodeling, but it was all just outside, uncovered. Went into the "remodeled" room and it was still a mess. Crappy paint job. Mini fridge didn't work. I ended up leaving and the woman at the front desk said she would refund the full amount. The charge is still on my card and I'm disputing it. I'm pretty low maintenance, I've stayed in some questionable places, and I'm not one to write a bad review, but they didn't even seem to care at this place. Not to mention, some of the photos on their website aren't even what the hotel looks like. It was around midnight, I was exhausted, but I still couldn't stay here.

We rented here to spend time with my son who graduated BCT and was headed to Fort Lee for AIT. The we had room needs repaired. Our room was musty smelling; there was a piece of metal in the outlet where the hairdryer plugs in; the bathroom doorknob had issues and the cover kept falling off; the microwave didn't work; the curtains didn't completely cover the windows, and we were right by the pool. That was unsettling. The beds were comfortable, but the overall feeling of safety was uncomfortable. The staff was not overly friendly or welcoming. Breakfast was minimal with bagels, toast, the same tired mini muffins sitting there for 3 mornings in a row(I don't believe they were fresh each day), 2 flavors of yogurt, and 2 types of cereal. Their free WiFi was nonexistent. There were people using the pool after hours and others out in the back courtyard yelling and being disruptive. It seems they do long term rentals there. It wasn't the most pleasant experience. We checked out a day early but were still charged for the room. I half expected it but for as poor as things were, it should have been credited. I will choose someplace else when I attend AIT graduation.

We decided to rest at a Days Inn during our long-distance trip. However, the room was so dirty that we questioned whether it had even been cleaned. The curtains were torn, the bedding had stains, furniture was falling apart, and the toilet and bathtub were covered in all sorts of grime. The ceiling vent was half hanging off, and there was a gap under the door that let flies in, which were buzzing around the room constantly. It was clear we wouldn’t be able to get any rest in such a condition. Just two hours after checking in, we decided to check out and drive the six hours back home instead. It’s shocking that they would even offer such a filthy room to guests. We will never stay there again.

This was the worse hotel I ever stayed at. Rundown, smelly and dirty. The fire alarm chirped all night every five minutes. We left at 1:30 in the morning after being awake most of the night.

I FELT UNSAFE ON THE PREMISES. MY ROOM WAS SO BAD, I DECIDED TO REQUEST ANOTHER ONE. IT WAS ABOUT 1AM. THE LADY WAS NICE AND GAVE ME THE KEY TO ANOTHER ROOM. I WENT TO CHECK IT OUT AND WENT BACK TO THE FRONT DESK AND TOLD HER IT WAS WORST THAN THE 1ST ROOM. SHE THEN TOOK ME TO ONE THAT W PARTIALLY RENOVATED WHICH HAD A NEW SHOWER/TUB INSTALL, THE WYNDHAM STYLE BEDDING RATHER THAN THE HOLY, DISCOLORED DAYS INN BEDDING BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WASNT UPDATED. THE TOWELS AND BEDDING FELT DAMP. I HAD NO WASHCLOTHS WHICH TO BE HONEST, I DIDN'T WANT USE ANYWAY. AS I WAS GETTING READY TO LAY DOWN, I BIG ROACH (NOT A WATERBUG) CRAWLED TOWARDS ME. I PROMISE IF I WASN'T 3 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME, I WOULD HAVE PACKED AND LEFT IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOTEL/MOTEL/EXTENDED STAY I HAVE EVER STAYED. SLEEPING ON THE SHEETS, MADE ME FEEL SO GROSS, I CHECKED OUT AT 7AM. I DIDN'T EVEN WANT THEIR NON EXISTENT COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST. I WANTED TO LEAVE ASAP.

Room had cigarret smell. And my brothers room was dirty with stains on the bed sheets and mold on the ceiling and bathroom

The room was very dirty. The paint was peeling pff the ceiling in the bathroom. The tub had patches in it. There eas dirt on the walls by the bed and by the sink area. The door was difficult to close. You really had to push it hard to get it to close. Room smelled bad.

And I will never stay here again. It was outdated, smelled like smoke in the non smoking room. Stains on the sheets and hair on the toilet as well as the bathroom floor.

Bed was clean and comfortable - Nice little Mexican restaurant next door Hotel's primary customers are work crews. - Stain on the shower curtain - Toilet seat was loose - More mastic on the surface of the bathroom tiles than under them. Made them look dirty when they were not - Hair found in tub - Maintenance was suspect

Room super dirty with mold

Room smelled like cigarettes. It was dirty and moldy everywhere. You can clearly see a layer of dust on all the dresser and desks. Light switch and oulet had a thick layer of yellow yuck on it. Never going back.

No tea/coffee maker in the room, only two TV channels, and the so-called breakfast was disappointing.

The rooms need a telephone

The room looks nice upon first entering. However, we began to notice quite a few things that needed fixing. There were partially done maintenance jobs seemly in progress. (Paint tape around the inside handle of the door, patched wall that needed sanding and paint) The room was clean and the sheets and towels has a nice clean odor. The bed had an ill fitting metal frame between the mattress and the platform base. It stuck out several inches and made it hard to get in and out of the bed without smacking one’s leg. It also creaked and made noise with every turn. There were no hot breakfast items. No fruit, 2 pieces of bread, 1 yogurt and a few mini muffins were the only things available to eat. There were probably about 15 people in the breakfast room looking for something to eat. We got a juice and left. An hour later when we checked out I met an unhappy couple coming out with two drinks and a piece of jelly bread each. The community seems very depressed economically. This property is NOT up to normal Days Inn standards.

This hotel is a terrible place. The beds have a very noisy metal frame. Every time I moved or turned it made a loud sound. Overall the place looks in desperate need of repair. Do yourself a favor and keep driving.

The TV was very blurry. And the people staying next to me was very loud. Up late and up early.

Hotels.com listed this property as being "pet-friendly." However, it was not. When I showed up with my pomeranian, the receptions said "no dogs allowed." I said that Hotels.com posted this hotel as "pet-friendly." Well, she said it was not and canceled my reservation and told me to go elsewhere. The receptionist was asbolutely rude and unprofessional.

A good nights stay....no issues. Got what was expected clean room..friendly staff

Room had not been cleaned properly, carpet had stuff all over it not vacuumed. Light outside entry doir did not work and my room was at end and hidden in an entry. TV and microwave were not working but maintenance came and fixed. Rude female front desk. Nice male front desk

Made a reservation and after a long long day of driving we arrive to find out they gave our room away. And she was rude to boot. Awful experience.

I arrived at the property with hope and optimism, only to be met with an immediate sense of dread. The images and description online were wildly misleading—this place looked NOTHING like what was advertised. Determined to give it a chance, I picked up the key and drove down a dark, sketchy alley to an overcrowded parking lot, only to be greeted by blaring music, smoke in the air, and people loitering aimlessly like something out of a horror movie. I tried to stay positive, but the atmosphere screamed unsafe. Stray cats wandered freely, and the “hallways” felt more like a neglected, open-air prison. When we opened the room door, we were hit with a suffocating wall of cigarette smoke—in a non-smoking room. The bedding had visible stains, the tub was grimy, and the entire space reeked of neglect. We walked out instantly. The front desk clerk shrugged off our concerns, citing a non-refundable policy through Expedia—even though Expedia later told us refunds were at the property’s discretion. We were offered another room, just as revolting. My boyfriend returned the key and respectfully explained that we felt unsafe and refused to stay. Days later, I was told I’d only be refunded for 2/3 of the nights booked, as despite not even taking a seat in the room the first night, the property had followed through with charging me. Absolutely unacceptable. DO NOT book here—this was hands down the most disturbing experience I’ve ever had while traveling. TRAVELERS BEWARE!

Very convenient.

This was perfect for my stop after a long day of driving. The clerk gave an excellent suggestion for dinner. I was up and on the road again in the morning feeling rested.

Price cleanliness and location.

Great for an overnight stop on a budget. Don’t expect the Hilton for $60. Comfy bed and hot shower. Wasn’t worried a bit about location/security of the area which can always be a gamble when searching for the best value for low $. Would stay again.

It was a perfect location and stop for our travels from north to south. Everyone was friendly and it was very peaceful.

The room was very clean. No carpet! Had coffee cups, but no coffee machine. The breakfast brought it down to four stars. Breakfast included a choice of bagels (plain), white bread, or mini muffin. There were 2 cereal choices and coffee. It had oatmeal packets, but no water.

overall the hotel is clean and welcoming. it is outdated in some things and more updated. TV service is awful, don’t plan to watch anything unless you have time to search and try to figure out how to find any channel. Not a hot breakfast but good, adequate to feed a hungry guest!

Poor internet connection. TV remote could not access any inputs. No smart TV. Told by front desk that I had to use my personal fire stick to access Netflix. Junk outside everywhere. Pitiful breakfast with exception of coffee. Good coffee.
