We stayed for one night at the Stoweflake. The property is currently undergoing renovations which are definitely needed as the property is dated. However, the property was very clean. The hotel has a lot of great amenities including two pools, a squash court, a gym, sauna/steam room, a spa, and a games room. My kids loved both pools and we had them pretty much to ourselves. Continental breakfast was small but the kids were very happy with the choices (cereal, bagels, muffins etc). The room was quiet and comfortable. I am sure once the renovations are complete this will be a lovely hotel. The customer service is also excellent: I left behind one of my belongings and called the hotel for help and they assured me that they are happy to ship the item back to me when it is located (hopefully soon!). The front desk staff walked right up to the room to look for it and called me back promptly rather than waiting until a more convenient time. I appreciate that kind of help!

The property was under construction. Restaurant was not open. This would have been good information to have. The spa was also not open. The spa was a major factor in my booking so I am sure you understand my disappointment when it was closed.

We had a great stay at Stoweflake. The staff and management were very kind and helpful. We stayed for a mini moon and they had champagne and glasses for us and the manager gave us ice and snacks. The property is amazing. There was plenty to explore. Outdoor Hot tub, outdoor and indoor pool, steam room, sauna, racketball and pickleball court, men and women locker rooms, yoga rooms, spa and game room with pool, ping pong table, card games, kids room with games. Very exceptional. 10/10 would stay here again. And breakfast included with bagels and danishes. The room was great and quiet. Large jacuzzi tub, large shower, fireplace and great bed. Parking was easy and large area. Multiple fountains and gazebos and firepit with cornhole.

This property is currently under renovations and I am looking forward to seeing the renovations done to see the new updates. We have stayed here numerous times and I love the staff the location. Everything is walkable. I have never had a bad stay at Stowe Flake. They have a great gym with plenty of equipment indoor and outdoor pool. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the meadows townhouses which was lovely. The meadows were well maintaned. Unfortunately, the property itself looks worn out and old. We have stayed here several times and never saw it look this bad. Also, the outdoor pool was out of service which was disappointing. There is no restaurant on property and the breakfast was very basic.

I loved the feel of this property. It rained a couple days of our trip so it was nice to have table tennis and the other options for fitness and spa so we were not stuck in our rooms. I didn't like that the pool was very chilly and the outdoor hottub was not working and that the pool table and accesseries were below even being usable.

Property is not described properly on website. They are remodeling they say but the property looks neglected. Trees growing out of gutters and massive flower beds that would be beautiful if they were maintained properly. Carpet in hallways are wrinkled to make it a hazard to trip ( my husband and I almost tripped). Indoor pool hazy in appearance. Hot tub broken. Outdoor pool looked nice. No spa no restaurant and still had to pay fee to use pool, hot tub, spa etc. fee was $15 dollars!

Will definitely be coming back! Great location- couple minute drive from a lot of food and drink, <10-15 min drive from Stowe mountain. Hotel was homey and cozy with fireplaces in the room and around public areas. The staff were super nice and helpful. The spa was great too. I visited in the winter and it had an outdoor hot tub, indoor pool, sauna and steam room all open (there may be more in the summer).

The Stoweflake is not what it once was many years ago. The hotel is quite dated. While they are trying to update slowly but surely, the signs are clear. However, the price is quite reasonable when compared to other similar properties, so you can't have your cake and eat it too. The outdoor pool is not heated and neither is the indoor one (unless it was broken). The shower pressure is non-existent. I didn't even have a lock on my bathroom door. The beds are not the worst I've slept on, but certainly far from the best. I appreciated the free breakfast, considering how expensive the local eateries are. The rooms were quite big, which is nice for traveling families. They have access to an EV charger on site, but it's paid (unlike most hotels nearby). The gameroom is straight out of The Shining, buried in the basement where children would surely love to spend their time. Overall, the hotel is quite bland and missing any semblance of life (it literally felt like we were the only family on site) but there is certainly value for the money. The staff were quite friendly.

The rooms however are very dated, there is lifting wallpaper, cracks in molding, poorly installed floor, and the room smelled odd, like there was a mold issue. Beds are not comfortable at all, feel very cheap. The bedding was nice, the blanket was very soft. No microwave or fridge in room. Television was very small as well. There was a cute coffee shop that was a 5 minute walk. Quick drive to restaurants and grocery store.

As soon as i walked into the room, there was just flith every where. Thank god i had cleaning wipes with me and was able to wipe all surfaces. There was just dust and filth all over. We moved the floor lamp to make some space for luggage and there was literally a stain of flith; meaning, things dont get moved around to clean from under. There is about 5 inches of dust on the vent. Literally the air we breathed while in the room was just bad. Both my husband i got are congested after staying here. The coffe machine looked like it's never been cleaned. The property in general is just in serious need of cleaning and updating. The good thing is that it's in a really good location and it's closed to everything in town.

So the overall experience was good staying at stowflake but the condition of the room were not so good. The first room they gave us was not clean properly (the bedsheets had hair on them. I asked for new bedsheets but they offered to change the room that is very kind of them. But later in the other room same thing happened, but I decided not to say anything. Overall cleanliness of the room if you see was alright but the bathroom was not at all clean clean. It had pink mold on the shower curtain as well as on the walls of the bathroom. I decided not say. They really need to up the game in cleanliness. I completely understand that it's an old property but these are basic things. Also nobody told us about the maintenance charges (17 dollars per day) throughout our stay and today during checkout they mentioned the fee to us. Me being me I agreed to it pay it, but my Boyfriend asked them why we were not charged before and no one told us while we were checking in. Also it is not mentioned on the website or Expedia. They said we are working with Expedia to work with this thing and other customers have also complained about this. End of story is we were charged with the fee but we have to email or call them for waiver of the fee. It's not about few dollars, it is about transparency about the policies. I would like to say that staff was amazing five stars for the service. 😀

Stoweflake needs a major update. I felt like I was stepping into the 80s. Our room was clean but everything was outdated and not in the best conditions. Pictures were sitting on the floor, not on walls. Door barely opened and was stuck. Tub was grimy and wouldn't drain.

Great location. Staff friendly but very understaffed. Pool dirty and chipped. Rooms large but dirty dust ruffles and no option for maid service until 3rd day. I have NEVER heard of such a thing! Room for four and not enough towels in room, we had to ask. Staff very kind but one had to go looking for any type of service. Ran out of toilet paper and soap as nothing refilled or stocked. Breakfast mediocre at best and still had to pay service fee on top of stay deapite pool being loaded with bugs and hair i could not go in. One staff member had to go between grill and "bar" on 90 degree day. We left after 30 min. Loved Stowe but would not stay at Stoweflake again.

The property needs some serious TLC. It’s a beautiful place. Nice location. Used jetted tub and when the jets were turned on all this black nasty slimy stuff was all over me! Took picture of tub. It was nasty. The towel used to dry off was stained with the slime. I reported it. Waiting to see what happens.

We got stuck with a room in the old motel addition which was very outdated and noisy. The beds were so sunken in that my back hurt all night. We were awoken at 6am by fire alarms and had to stand outside in the cold. No one told us what was going on. We had to ask the fire department (who came 30 minutes later). We go to bed finally and in the morning there is NO water. We had to shower in other rooms. We should have received a partial refund for a horrible night, but none was offered. All we got were apologies.

The room was clean and spacious. There is no air conditioning, so it was rather stuffy. We opened both windows, but one crank was not very functional and the window only opened a small amount and had to be pulled back in later. A small piece of the other crank came off, but was able to be put back on and remained functional. The bathroom toilet paper roll bar was not the one that should have been used with the bar holder and popped out every time you touched the roll. The shower had water, but no pressure, so you had to stand next to the wall to get rinsed. Breakfast was sustenance, but nothing to write home about. I was very excited to stay here, but was sadly disappointed especially considering the price.

The initial room we were assigned not only was 84 degrees, the thermostat was hanging off the wall. The second room was considered an upgrade and was located in the west wing. The room had functioning a/c to a certain extent, would not go below 74. The corridor was very warm in this section of the “resort”. The first two nights of our three were okay to sleep, the last was uncomfortable. The bed itself is very comfortable. The property is undergoing renovations to parts of it, including the spa. Both pools were open and pleasant to swim in. The outdoor jacuzzi and sauna were closed. The restaurant and pool bar are both closed, so no food or drinks are available on site. The exterior could use major attention, lots of overgrowth (weeds) and potholes to manoeuvre. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. Overall, we did make the best of our stay. We love Stowe and will definitely be back. If there is an incredible deal to be had for the Stoweflake, we would consider staying again.

This hotel was just OK. I thought I paid for a luxury room ($390) but I got a motel type room in the Sport West wing. It was clean but dated and not near worth that $ amount. We did stay in October which is probably peak season but just didn’t feel like I got my money’s worth. Staff was pleasant and location was good.

We stayed for one night at the Stoweflake. The property is currently undergoing renovations which are definitely needed as the property is dated. However, the property was very clean. The hotel has a lot of great amenities including two pools, a squash court, a gym, sauna/steam room, a spa, and a games room. My kids loved both pools and we had them pretty much to ourselves. Continental breakfast was small but the kids were very happy with the choices (cereal, bagels, muffins etc). The room was quiet and comfortable. I am sure once the renovations are complete this will be a lovely hotel. The customer service is also excellent: I left behind one of my belongings and called the hotel for help and they assured me that they are happy to ship the item back to me when it is located (hopefully soon!). The front desk staff walked right up to the room to look for it and called me back promptly rather than waiting until a more convenient time. I appreciate that kind of help!

Duncan made the difference from an ok stay to a Great Stay! Always available to take care of any need, make your stay a little better and provide lots of ideas about things to do in the area. So accommodating and friendly. The bedding was fabulous, and our group agreed we never had a better night's sleep. We'll be back! Excited to see the improvements.

We had a great stay at Stoweflake. The staff and management were very kind and helpful. We stayed for a mini moon and they had champagne and glasses for us and the manager gave us ice and snacks. The property is amazing. There was plenty to explore. Outdoor Hot tub, outdoor and indoor pool, steam room, sauna, racketball and pickleball court, men and women locker rooms, yoga rooms, spa and game room with pool, ping pong table, card games, kids room with games. Very exceptional. 10/10 would stay here again. And breakfast included with bagels and danishes. The room was great and quiet. Large jacuzzi tub, large shower, fireplace and great bed. Parking was easy and large area. Multiple fountains and gazebos and firepit with cornhole.

Incredibly unfriendly, unaccommodating, and unreasonable staff and management at the Stoweflake Resort. One of the members in our party tested positive for covid prior to our arrival and Dan P from reservations told us verbatim “you either come in or lose all your money.” As healthcare workers, we stated we would not come in and endanger the staff and other guests, to which he replied again “you either come in or lose all your money. Nothing I can do.” They proceeded to send our full bill on the anticipated checkout day even though we never checked in. The lack of customer service and promotion of coming to their property with active covid are true indicators of just what type of establishment the Stoweflake Resort truly is.

The room we booked through Expedia was awful. Big gap when the door was closed letting in sunlight and cold air. Stairs leading to this room were missing pieces, we almost fell down them. Vent in the room was caked with dust. Looked like an abandoned section of the hotel. A very nice employee at the front desk found another room for us and we were happy with that. The attached restaurant was closed and under renovation, which was a disappointment. The game room needs some attention. Other than that, the whole spa/recreation facilities were clean and in good shape. The employees were friendly and in general, it's a very cozy, comfortable place to stay.

I would like to preface that I checked in the day after 500 guests left the hotel...that being said, it was a ghost town, I waited 25 minutes for anyone who worked there to come by and help me check in. The man was very polite and informative, but looked frazzled...I'm guessing they are short-staffed. The hotel smelled very musky, but the room itself didn't- it was great actually. Very spacious, clean, and beds were comfortable. This hotel needs a facelift, and I would say more staff and security.

The location was great for access to Stowe Ski mountain- only about a 7 minute drive. It was also right in town, close to a lot of to restaurants and shopping. The hotel is also right at the corner of the free shuttle bus to the mountain. We enjoyed the breakfast- had enough options to feel full and fueled properly for fun. The room was beautiful, we loved the fireplace in the room, and the large whirlpool hot tub in our room. We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the snow! There were so many activites that were great for kids- indoor squash court, indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, game room with Wii , ping pong, pool, etc. Sauna and Steam room too! For the price- this hotel exceeded our expectations. Manager told us they were renovating- so i'd be excited to see how they improve.

I am glad I chose to stay at this resort on my recent visit to Vermont. It was in a convenient location, not far from the ski resort. There was also public transportation from the hotel to the mountain. It was also great to have multiple dining options within walking distance, with many others a short drive down the street. The place was clean and met our expectations.

It states online that there are 2 restaurants on property. There are none. It state there’s a spa, there’s not. There are even signs in their elevator stating massage services with pricing, there is no massage offerings. There are weeds growing out of the roof shingles, the landscaping is nothing but weeds. The doors in room do not lock properly and the fireplace in room don’t work. The entire place is run down and looks deserted. Very disappointing the price was that high for the actual accommodation. Motel 6 are cleaner and have more amenities than Stoweflake did. The only truth to the photos is the outdoor pool.

The property was under construction. Restaurant was not open. This would have been good information to have. The spa was also not open. The spa was a major factor in my booking so I am sure you understand my disappointment when it was closed.

We stayed in the meadows townhouses which was lovely. The meadows were well maintaned. Unfortunately, the property itself looks worn out and old. We have stayed here several times and never saw it look this bad. Also, the outdoor pool was out of service which was disappointing. There is no restaurant on property and the breakfast was very basic.

I had booked 3 rooms and was most excited about our stay at this property. They gave us the rooms in this building called Sports Wing, which is cut off from the main building and is more like staff quarters. The rooms were dark, dinghy, cold and smelling. Carpets were filthy. They had no housekeeping-PERIOD. At the time of booking, no where did it give any info about this separate building. DO NOT BOOK OR STAY IN THE SPORTS WING - even for free. Extremely disappointed, as I had guests from overseas. In fact, one of them even commented “ didn’t know there were such bad hotels in the USA.” We paid close to $275/night. The ultimate shame was that the breakfast was served in the lobby with barely seating for 20 people, when the capacity of the hotel must be over 100 guests. Breakfast too was pathetic. Do a lil research before getting stuck in this cess pool.

Breakfast area is located in front of the front desk so people. who check in and out are right in the middle of your dining experience. For this quite large hotel there are only three dining tables and more sitting options are around coffee tables. Breakfast is minimal , unhealthy continental. Cold boiled eggs, sticky bagels, some apples and overripe bannanas and muffins.

We had a fun stay in Stowe. Hotel is close to downtown, plenty to do in the area. Great gym and pool facilities. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the fact the onsite restaurant the spa were closed for renovations.
