Quality Inn Grand Suites Bellingham

We arrived at the property about 9:10pm, ready to get checked in after a 12 hour day on the road only to find a "Will return in 30 minutes" sign at the front desk. There was no indication of when the sign was placed. A few minutes after we arrived, another family arrived with young, very tired, children. None of us were too thrilled about the extra wait to simply get checked in. While we waited, the phone range multiple times. The receptionist returned to the desk at 9:41pm and didn't acknowledge the inconvenience. Not even an "I'm sorry for the wait." She spoke very softly and I had to repeat myself and ask her to repeat herself with nearly every question/response. The following afternoon, we returned to the property (5:23 pm) after spending the day exploring the beautiful historic Fairhaven District to find the same "Will return in 30 minutes" sign on the front desk. Thankful we did not need anything, but thought it worth mentioning: If you choose to stay at this property, you may, or may not be able to get help if/when you need it from the front desk. The "Fitness Center" is nothing more than a universal strength machine, one unstable and outdated elliptical and one similarly aged treadmill with missing safety components at the back of the belt. The belt itself "slipped" when set to just 3 mph. I did not attempt continued use. The space itself was very small and extremely warm. Overall - I am disappointed in this particular Quality Inn property.

There were a number of issues in the room and on the property. The pool and hot tub were out of service ,the coffee maker was unusable, the shampoo dispenser was empty, the water pressure in the sink was like a high pressure fire hose, and frankly the whole place needs a major update.

I booked this hotel so I could use the hot tub. Well it wasn’t hot at all!

Quality Inn in Bellingham on Kellogg Rd. is by far the best choice in its price range among all the other hotels in the area and I have stayed in all of them over the last 10 years. It is clean, safe, comfortable and offers a nice complimentary breakfast. It has locked outer doors and a nice pool and hot tub. It's close to bus stops, shopping and restaurants. It is always my 1st choice. Its great for business or leisure, singles and family stays.

The pool was nice for swimming lessons. Staff didnt fuss too much. This was our second stay at this property. We are considering a hotel membership.

Pool wasn’t open at first. Didn’t open till end of stay. Hot tub never opened. Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable.

The pool was so bad we would not go in it. There was green algie around the edges and black spots (we figure were mold) all over the bottom of the pool. The room was clean, but very dated. The employee at the front desk was very personable, informative and friendly.

Room was spacious. Beds were uncomfortable but there were decent pillows. Shower head was leaky but it did yhe job. Pool was open but hot tub closed and out of order. Location is ok. Breakfast was pretty poor but probably a sign of the times. At check-in the front desk guy wasn't very friendly and hopefully didn't charge my card twice for the "incidentals" I don't get charging $50 but whatever. Since it was graduation weekend for WWU our usual hotel was booked up. Definitely will try not to stay here again if possible

Visibly dirty walls, light switches, carpet, bathtub, countertop, everything. It was old, ground-in dirt that tells me this place has been neglected for a long time. We checked in late so didn't have many options and got out of there as fast as we could the next morning, trying not to touch anything.

This hotel felt like a place being run to take money and invest none back into the property. To say it was poorly maintained would be an undue compliment! The common areas were run down and unloved. The room was very old fashioned and was unclear too. I would never stay here again!

The staff was nice, the room had spiderwebs all over, wall paper falling off the walls, food crumbs all over the kitchen area, door trim was broken, discoloration in the ceiling, hallways were loud, water pressured just sucked, didnt really feel clean afterwards, the hallway smelled like sewer, we wont be going back to this hotel. For the price we paid it should have been better quality, very disappointed.

Mold, rust, dirty bed sheets with public hair on them, sink clogged, carpets gross, couch gross, phone sticky. We moved to a different room, still had hair on bed sheets. I felt more gross after having a shower then before! They offered a late check out... We rushed to get out of there. We didn't want to touch any surfaces. The staff were nice and you could tell they were used to apologizing to guests for how disgusting it is. Owner was working the breakfast and was rude. Food looked gross, so I walked away.

So clean and comfortable! Friendliest staff in Bellingham!! I loved my stay here and I highly recommend!

Mold stains in bathroom, insects in bedding, bed un confortable, hard and had depressions (needs replaci g) couldnt pay for second room for people travelli g with us

Room was not clean. Cover plate was missing from electrical outlet. Breakfast choice was sparse and breakfast had to be eaten in your room or in a small room down a hallway. There are rats living under the trees adjacent to the pool.

The general appearance of the room was clean, but that being said, it was only clean on the surface. Upon closer inspection it was quite rundown and in need of a very deep cleaning. The hotel is old and tired and is in need of a complete makeover. The general area of hotel is okay, but it is on the periphery of an unsafe area. Would not stay here again.

The hotel was quite old inside. What was super frustrating, was that the key slot on the front door of our room was definitely outdated to the point we could not get into our room without many many tries. Sometimes up to 5 minutes of waiting. Someone also knocked on our door at 5:45 am and woke us up trying to get in. The shower head barely had any pressure and the tile floor felt greasy and unclean in the washroom. The breakfast was ok however the coffee machine could have used some maintenance as the coffee did not taste good at all. Guy at the front desk in the morning dressed like he just got out of bed and could have been more friendly. I won't be staying here again.

Bad odour in room. Toilet was leaking and they didn’t attend to it during entire stay. No housekeeping until last day.

Comfortable, quiet, clean, large room. Loved all the space and the bright bathroom. Not terrible, but the building is old and it shows. Could use some TLC. It was a great stopover for one night but some newer updates could make it more enjoyable for longer stays.

Hotel room had plenty of space

Checkin was very smooth and the manager was very kind. The room was spacious and very nice. Some parts of the room are showing their age, particular several wall plug outlets.

Convenient location. Cleaning staff is good. Rooms are big but dated. Rooms open to the outside, not a hallway. Area seems safe so it is fine.

Our stay was generally fine. The walls were thin and could hear our neighbours. One of our key cards stopped working the first night but the room was clean and the breakfast was fine. Location was convenient for us. We’d consider staying there again.

We had a glitch checking in, but it was resolved the next morning. The room was clean and comfortable. It needs a facelift, but nothing was broken. Breakfast was the usual; eggs, potatoes, various breads, waffles, bananas, and coffee. Friendly staff. Seasonal pool, so we didn't use it. Close to restaurants, shopping, etc. Wifi was fair, but had to keep signing in, up to 3 times a day.

The breakfast was microwaved scrambled eggs and microwaved hash browns. The walls were paper thin - did not appreciate the room next door’s alarm going off on his phone at 6am. Mattress was super soft when firm would be better for me. They tried to switch it out but we heard the same complaint from others there and it was a full hotel over the weekend. The pool was a good option to have.

Front desk staff was either great or non-attentive, depending on who was there. The rooms are pretty worn and dark. The pool area doesn’t allow food and the grounds doesn’t have other outdoor space for people to relax. The bathroom and beds do feel clean.

We enjoyed studio style accommodations. Living room, kitchenette and bedroom.

The staff was awesome, really nice comfy rooms especially the bed, really yummy breakfast and clean inside and out. I would definitely recommend Quality Inn Bellingham to everyone. The cost is reasonable and shout out to Corey, front desk, very professional and helpful, I didn’t catch the names of the other front desk staff or maintenance guy, but so helpful and professional. There was no one at the front desk when we tried to check-in around 5 pm. I rang the bell and waited a few minutes. I eventually the called the hotel and stood there while the desk phone rang and rang. Finally someone came and said they'd call the desk person. He eventually came strolling in through the pool area with a friend and what looked like leftover food from meal in a to go container. He never said sorry or welcome. He was mostly silent as we checked in. Definitely a very rude check in.

Hot tub is not working. Front desk person very unhelpful. I wouldn’t stay here again.

When checking in, the front desk staff was nowhere to be seen, even ringing the bell didn’t work. Had to call the front desk from my phone to get their attention. As we walked in, we noticed a person, who was clearly not a guest of the hotel, trying to get in the hallways. Carpets are dirty and smelly. Would never stay here again.

Front desk very unprofessional not even an hello I understand for the price should not expect much but customer service shouldn’t effect the price

I really appreciated the firm, comfortable bed; we all slept very well. Also, the air conditioning was great as well as the price. The front staff (Corey, Jasmine, and Kurt) members were helpful, flexible, professional, and friendly. We plan to stay here again next year.

Excellent customer service

The desk clerk was horrible. He was unfriendly, abrupt, and very argumentative. This is a terrible motel. How it ever is a quality and is beyond me.

It's a quiet place with friendly and helpful staff, close to a shopping plaza, and several dining options nearby.

Lots of homeless near the property and roaming the property

Good value property - however seeing crack heads try and get into all the cars every night is a bit of a turn off. Way worst homeless issue around the hotel this year than same time last year. Fencing the parking would be a very nice option.

It was nice to be right next to the mall. Great location.

The staff are very nice and professional, and breakfast was simple, but included. The area itself has lots of dining options close by, and lots of parking. The hotel is a little dated, but for the price and a Quality Inn, a good choice overall.

Close to airport

Good staff plus nice, roomy room and large bathroom. Good location for stores and restaurants. Only negative - lots of homeless in the area No fault of hotel, however.

The homeless people didn't break into our vehicle, so that was a plus. They live on the street right off of the property. We didn't feel extremely safe there, but they didn't seem to bother anyone. But, there are motorhomes and cars parked on the street just off of the property that people are living in.

Staff was good. Continental breakfast was slim on choices. Property condition was poor - needs updated.

Hotels is absolutely out dated.. but clean...beds foam spring mattress ..was ok for two nights Breakfast is cheap no taste... waffle nooooo Juice.. watery... Coffee was ok

It is a budget hotel so the price is good compared to others in the area. The shower worked fine. The toilet seat was a bit loose. The breakfast is free but I would like to give my suggestion on how to improve it. The coffee was awful so maybe get a better blend. The orange juice was also terrible. Not sure what it actually was. The only thing that is ok is the waffles. So improve the coffee and the orange juice and maybe add something good besides the waffles. The scramble eggs appear to be made from some sort of powder. Not real eggs. So if the scrambled eggs were from real eggs that would be a huge improvement.

It was alright for the price breakfast was the only thing was disappointing kinda bland

Breakfast was not good , not much choice and food not refilled . I was told that breakfast was until 9:30 and no more food at 9 PM. I ask if they will still refill food and told me they wont anymore since it closes as 9 AM. Reasonable room/clean. easy check in. Otherwise OK for the price .

The staff are so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was outstanding. So many choices and wverything fresh and delicious.

Comfortable, spacious, and quiet; all needed for a good sleep. Breakfast was pretty good, with waffles, fruit, scrambled eggs, and potatoes. Plenty of cereal choices.
