To much chlorine in the pool and hot tube. Burns your eyes.

Nice to have near the freeway but no noise from it, tucked away. Also nice to be by grocery store Fred Meyer. Pool was on the cooler side. Was fixed by going bank and forth from hot tub which was very nice temp!

We liked the hotel (breakfast was great), the one drawback was the pool. It was incredibly hot, sauna like in the room & the pool water was not clear & the bottom was gritty. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

The room was a good size clean and organized. The pool on the other hand was freezing cold and the jets in the Jacuzzi did not work. The staff was nice and pleasant.

The pool is open late and they have adult swim that made it nice !!!

Pool closed by health dept. Towels thin. Bed lumpy. No effort in the refreshing of the room. Room dusty.

The la Quinta in Bellingham was a wonderful respite at the end of a very long drive. We arrived late and had no problems with checking in or rooms and there were several of us. We tested the pool and hot tub the next day and were very pleased. The hot tub, was actually hot and comfortable. They are usually barely warm. If I am back in town, I shall put this hotel at the top of my list.

Only complaint is that the pool and hot tub were not operating at the time of check in. Would have been nice to know in advance as I have two disappointed kids. Unable to change the rate/ask for a discount due to booking through Expedia and not the hotel directly.

Hot tub and pool were not operable, and in the gym the treadmill and elliptical were broken.

This hotel was a bit of a challenge all around. I will start with getting to it. If you are coming from the south, you have to Uturn in the Fred Meyer parking lot to get to the driveway of the hotel. And you cannot turn left when leaving the hotel. When we arrived, we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing the front desk gentleman. It seemed he was on his lunch break and annoyed to check us in while he was still eating. When we got.tomour room, it appeared clean except for the greasy hand prints all over both wooded headboards. We used a wet wash cloth to wipe it off and that seemed to work. I wish I had Clorox wipes with me though. The other unfortunate event that happened was that the swimming pool area should have been closed to the public. We walked in and we punched in the face by a horrific smell and the temperature was over 90 degrees. The bathroom was broken as well with caution tape blocking entry. Our eyes and noses were burned and that lasted a few hours after only being in there for five minutes . I went to alert the front desk of the hazard and he seemed unfazed and not concerned and just said the ac is broke. We rushed to our room to shower and the shampoo and conditioner were empty. I called the front desk and they said it was backordered and asked if we needed some. We said we do, and they delivered some immediately. Over all, the ladies who were at the front desk seemed so kind and I wish they were the ones who helped me but I got the grumpy guy.

Bathroom tub has rusty marks everywhere that we could not use it for bath and hot tub was down and pool water was freezing due to mechanical failures

Quiet hotel, clean, and quite comfortable beds.

Nice clean room but the bathtub had yellowish stains on the bottom and the caulking was dingy looking and cracking and chipping off in places

Check in was very easy. Front person( sorry I couldn’t remember her name) was very friendly and got our room very quickly. What I didn’t like was the hallway on our floor was not vacuumed. Dirt and debris on the carpet as well as crumbs

the bed is dirty, the bed sheets and blankets have blood and holes, on the headboard has fingerprints not cleaned dust is all over the room, not happy with it complain to the front desk and they say they will talk to the housekeeping that’s all they didn’t do anything for us

The bathroom grout was dirty and gross

Room was ok but bathroom was dirty. There was hair in the tub and on the toilet seat. The side tables were dusty and underneath the alarm clock was someone’s chocolate wrapper

Staff was great and rooms were fairy clean but matress was getting old and not as comfortable as in the past.

This hotel is in a good location - right next to Fred Meyer and across the street from Costco. It was clean, although our room was not serviced during our stay (only a few new towels dropped off). Breakfast was good, lots of options. One major disappointment was that the wifi was not working properly - it would connect and disconnect constantly. We asked the front desk about this, to which they said they would reset the modem on the 3rd floor to see if that helped. I don’t know if they tried to fix it at all, as the wifi did not work for our entire stay. Many other reviews dating back years document wifi issues, with the hotel seeming to give a different excuse every time.

Breakfast was excellent. Neighbours above were inconsiderate. Sounded like a heard of elephants. Didn’t stop walking around until 2:30am. Too bad Wyndham didn’t sound proof their suites.

Clean, quiet, comfortable room. However TV mounted without extension arm made it extremely difficult to see tv from bed or sofa.

There was several disappointments. First, the wifi in our first room was non-existent or paralyzingly slow. We told front desk after first night and we were offered a room change which the wifi improved immensely. The bathroom fans were extremely dusty in both rooms. We mentioned it and it was cleaned in second room. I dunno, just something I notice and clean all the time in my home. The containers that contained our shampoo, conditioner, etc were low and we could not extract any through the pumps. I mentioned to the front desk and it was not refilled for the next day use. Luckily I always carry some with me, so used my own. Our room was not cleaned one day, so I had to call to front desk to get towels refreshed. I had thrown them in the tub after use, so they were wet and could not be re-used. Lastly, they got our reservation wrong. Had us checking out a day early. I checked our reservation to see if I made a mistake… nope! Also across the street from a homeless encampment - I know that is part of society, but chances of theft or damage to parked cars is greater.

Overall everything was good except the internet service. Tried for over two hours one night and an hour the next morning to get internet service and was not able to. Their provider limits the number of guests using it and clearly it is not enough to accommodate the need. Ended up paying $50 in roaming fees because we needed to have internet service for an urgent matter. They should not advertise that they have free wi-fi when they really do not!

Everything was great except the room was either too hot or too cold

Nice friendly staff but the walls were pretty thin - next door weren't being particularly loud but the sound of music and chatting really did travel :(

The room was appointed well enough for the price, but, despite it appearing to be clean, it was a bit worn around the edges, with some dings, scratches and cracks here and there.

We checked in late and left early but we waited in line to check in for more than 30 minutes!! No backup, one person at the desk. The phone was constantly ringing and he had no help. If I didn’t already pay I would have left.

The hotel manager is the meanest person I've ever met, and the guy with glasses who works at the counter... I obeyed everything he said just to keep his job. They're awful people, and it was a terrible experience. I hope I never go back.

I needed a long stay in Bellingham and stayed here a little over 3 weeks! Everything was perfect but the best was Stephanie who greeted me at the front desk. She consistantly went above and beyond in order to make my stay comfortable.

I need to shout out Carlos, the front desk clerk. I had a problem with my room and he heard my concerns and quickly offered me a solution. I felt he really wanted to be sure I had a good experience. He was pleasant and helpful. Hotel is great. It was my first time staying at La Quinta and will probably stay again. It was perfect for what I needed. My daughter loved the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was really good and it was well stocked.

I travel the country for a living. Hotel stays are a regular occurrence. It doesn’t take much for a hotel to receive an average rating from me. As long as they can provide a comfy bed, a warm shower, a tv with decent channels and laundry facilities, I’m content. La Quinta, in Bellingham, definitely provided all those things. Huge bathrooms, very comfy bed, big screen tv, and it was surprisingly cheap to wash and dry clothes ($1.00 per load). They had an excellent hot breakfast and a pool with a sauna too. Amenities were above average in my opinion. As a whole, the hotel itself was lovely. What separates one hotel from next has nothing to do with amenities. It has everything to do with customer service and the way I feel checking in, out and everywhere in between. Upon arrival at La Quinta, I was greeted and checked in by a wonderful young man named Angel. Very pleasant, helpful and good conversation. I was impressed and happy with my decision to stay there. I wasn’t exactly sure how long I would be staying, so I had to rebook several times. The day after I arrived, I rebooked another night. This time, it wasn't Angel checking me in. It was someone who wasn’t pleasant. They were very cold and let out a sigh anytime I asked a question…like I was stressing them out. It was like night and day. Angel’s customer service skills should be modeled by the rest of the staff. I could give a 5 star rating then.

Everything was great until the 5th night of our stay… I stopped by the front desk to redo our keys … The flippant front desk person named Sydney was incredibly rude and combative, on top of being completely inexperienced and inept . I will not be back until the property discharges this liability .

Stephanie was amazing, we had to extend our stay by one night due to an emergency and they only had a more expensive room available, she did the upgrade at no extra charge and she was so kind & quick about it. Can not thank her enough fir one less stress that day!

The staff were absolutely wonderful. The room was spotless…extremely satisfied. I will definitely stay here again!

Nice clean property, friendly staff, homeless population is a little concerning but my car was not impacted. They should fence the parking area and not allow loitering.

Service, cleanliness staff. negative: Homeless encampment across st. City issue. Median on street that forces you to enter from only one direction.

Not my first stay here and as before, wonderful place. Check-in quick and by pleasant. Room nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is on of the best hotel continental breakfasts ever and the kitchen staff was attentive and everything was so clean

There were sidewalks & crosswalks for stretching my legs after the 12-hour drive along with a store for groceries, fast food & Costco for gas/carwash within the block. Literally right of I-5.

Great location for getting to the airport, like coffee available 24/7 also juices.. close to a Fred meyers grocery store

The property was in a good location for our purposes. Although there is homeless camp across the rd from the hotel the staff were vigilant in ensuring the guests felt safe.

I liked that it was next door to Starbucks. I didn't like that to make a left turn into the property, I had to turn into Fred Meyer and make a U-turn.

Would be alot better if the homeless camp was not directly across the street

Great hot breakfast

Our stay overall was good! I’d just say they should spend a little more time cleaning the carpets. They felt super gross and dirty.. we found a couple nuts on the floor (and I had a small crawling child with us) other than that it was pretty good for the cost! The free breakfast was awesome!! The pool was nice, but I’d recommend bringing your own towels because there wasn’t a lot of towels and they were small.

People were really nice clean rooms but food was not that great

This hotel needs a refresh and the complimentary breakfast has seriously gone downhill. The location is good and it is quiet.

It was easy, breakfast was great! The young lady taking care of the breakfast was especially attentive to it all.

The place was clean and looked ok, but nothing special. Front desk was check in was quick and easy. The free breakfast was smaller than most other hotels. We got a waffle and bowl of oatmeal and both went in the trash. The oatmeal wasn’t hot and there was no brown sugar. Waffle was just plain bad. We won’t stay at that hotel again.

Sundays breakfast had a larger variety of meats than Mondays, which is to be expected. Free coffee, hot water, tea, hot chocolate and ice water in lobby 24 hours. All staff very friendly. Forgot my husband’s razor and they graciously gave him 2.

The breakfast was excellent, and FINALLY after COVID found a hotel that will send housekeeping to freshen a room during a multi-day stay.

The staff was very welcoming & friendly! I loved the shower water pressure & temperature. That makes or breaks a hotel stay for me so that was a real plus. I was wondering if you could add some plant milk to your breakfast items (almond, oat or soy milk) and maybe some non-dairy yogurt as well. That would be helpful for us vegans.
