Willow Springs Motel

There was no refrigerator or microwave. The motel is very close to the train tracks and the trains are very noisy in the night. Otherwise, very nice, and inexpensive.

Willow Springs is conveniently located about four blocks from the old downtown area. There is a Zip's Drive in next door, a coffee stand at the street right in front of the motel, and a Mexican food restaurant in the other direction next door. Taverns about four blocks. Grocery store about one mile. We stay at Willow Springs annually while we fish at the lakes south of Cheney so we don't need much as far as lodging is concerned. The rooms are just OK. Fairly clean. Somewhat comfortable bed. No microwave or coffee maker or refer in the room. I think there are people living at the motel so there are dumpy vehicles in the parking lot. One van filled with garbage bags? The owner greeted us at the counter when we checked in. He is a nice man and he and his family have owned the place for about twenty years. I was a little surprised to find that he was going to charge my CC $40 per room for incidental damages (refundable at check out) instead of keeping my card open. We booked our room through Expedia and I didn't expect any additional charges when we arrived at the motel. Willow Springs is an old, basic, three story facility. it is not the least bit fancy and there are trains running behind the building all night long. But the location is convenient to both the old part of Cheney and the newer part (lots of services and restaurants) a mile or so to the north. The room is an adequately clean place to sleep for a reasonable $90 a night. We will probably go back next year.

The motel is right next to the train tracks and I swear I heard a train go pass every 10-15 minutes, but the room was muffled enough that it didn't bother me personally. If you're a light sleeper though, maybe look for a room elsewhere. The rooms have no kitchen appliances, but there is a vending machine and a microwave in the lobby that you can use between 7 and 11am. There is also a really amazing Drive-In restaurant next door that you can easily walk to if you're hungry. A couple of negative notes about the rooms my mother and I stayed in is that the wall outlets were fairly loose, our phone chargers would not stay plugged in so our phones wouldn't charge overnight, you really had to monitor them to make sure the chargers were still plugged into the wall. Another note is that the door to my mother's room was practically hanging off its hinges, it would not close all the way so there was always a draft, it wouldn't fully lock, and you could hear everything happening outside. Looking at the doorframe it actually looked like the door had been forced open at some point in the past. Her bathroom was much nicer than mine though, it appeared hers had been recently redone with new floor and shower tiles. Overall, not a terrible place to sleep for a few nights, but if you're staying in Cheney for 5 days or longer I wouldn't recommend it.

No hot water for showers. No microwave or fridge either. Bed was okay but not the best. Having no hot water killed it for me. Won't be back.

Pros: Very clean, good beds and linen, easy check-in, big screen television, quiet around the area. Close to the gatherings we were attending. The trains run often, but the sound actually did not bother us. What we could have used, in no particular order: refrigerator, coffeemaker/hot water maker, microwave, bedside clock, box of tissues.

The room is very minimal, with no microwave, no frig and no coffee pot. I will just say that the room and the experience leave a lot to be desired. Oh, and the local railroad yard is right behind the motel, so you get the full effect of a train running thru your room on a regular basis.

The place is a little run down. No coffee pot. No fridge. Limited towels. Tv reception week. No soap . A little shampoo. Poor communication at front desk. Worth about 60 bucks a night. Not 90.

No mini frig, no microwave, no ice maker outside where we can get to it after hours. Room was clean. Trains nearby were loud, but you can't complain, because you see the tracks right next to the motel when you check in.

the toilet in my room over flowed everytime i flushed it..first two times i had to get the owner to come in with the plunger...after that he just left me the plunger...no fridge or microwave

Staff was great and it served the purpose of a cheap place to sleep. The property is old but they do their best in keeping it clean.

This property was deplorable. Smelt like stale cigarettes and mold. Didnt even check in. Walked in and walked out.

Disgusting I lasted an hour there before I checked out to find another room smells bad they have bedbugs I asked for my deposit back and didn’t even get it back

We got in teally late , 1 am but the office responded right away. Smooth easy check in, friendly owner. Room was a little dated but actually really clean and well kept! Beds were really comfortable, we slept like babies 👶 Will definitely stay again. Thanks

The experience was fine. The room and surrounding area was appropriate to the price paid. The staff are friendly, the room was clean, just old. It was fine for the money. If you are looking for a bed to sleep in that's clean and cheap, this is it. If you are looking for a nice hotel, nice clean rooms, clean parking lots, you are probably going to have to pay more somewhere else.

Location is a couple blocks from main railroad line. Room was clean. Location otherwise good.

The room reeked of old cigarette smoke. The floors in the room and bathroom had major soft spots. If you have no other choice it will work, but i recommend find a different place.

Was kind of bummed there was no bath tub stopper so I could soak in the tub and the shower was too short and non adjustable so showering was a bit of a pain, but the pressure was AMAZING. other than that the stay was just fine

Not much they can do about this, but the train runs all night directly behind the motel - like 30 ft away. The facility is in pretty run-down condition, and not all that clean feeling. No fridge or Microwave fyi…. For the price, I’ve stayed at worse though.

I don’t like leaving reviews period but this place was unsafe. Conveniently in town but not worth the sleepless nights. Door deadlock didn’t lock from outside and windows couldn’t lock. Every creak was louder than the trains. Bathroom upstairs flooded and dripped on us below. Moldy bathroom. Towel shortage asked for extra towels but was expected to give them back the dirty towels. 2 towels for 3 people? Too run down and shouldn’t be even listed as option.

I had to convince the front desk I wasnt trying to con/sell them anything. I legitimately wanted to book a room at the Expedia rate of $90 tax. He didnt believe me until I booked right in front of hom and then got my booking and payment via an expeda, to prove I was legit. The motel had long-term tenants with random outdoor parking without any lighting or night security. Rough gravell and dirty entry and lot with unkempt landscaping. Very sketchy area of Cheney with an operating train track in back.

The check in worker was extremely rude and prejudiced. Was harsh about the animals and charged me a pet fee disregarding the fact they’re service animals and I have a letter that says to protect under the disabilities act. I also never got my money back but there were no damages. The area was overall very nosy and unsafe and a lot of chaos and fights happening around. I heard 4 gunshots on the property too and none of us felt safe. My dog was on edge and was having anxiety due to the sounds and chaos and I was held “accountable” for that but rhe people causing the chaos and unsafety were not held accountable for anything.

At checkin: clerk was rude. Hidden charges $15 pet fee and $40 pet deposit . Deposit was returned . Stay was not pleasurable.

Front Desk Gentleman was nice and polite

I thought it was missleading thatthe Dd said "pet friendly " but nothing was mentioned about additional fees or deposits for pets. I had to put out more $$ than expected and still have not been refunded my $40 deposit. This should be stated at the time of reservation.

The inside was wonderful it was the outside that was dirty and not very clean and made it kind of look like an old rundown apartment complex but overall it was a great stay rooms were nice well-kept and convenient for its location inside of Cheney

We were grateful for a quiet room on a very busy weekend. This motel is a great value and conveniently located 20 minute drive from GEG.
