Sonesta Select Seattle Renton Suites

This hotel was a decent place to stay within a fairly easy commute of Seattle. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The pool looked a little small, but we didn't have time to try it. The gym was ok - the precors were squeaky, but the treadmills, bike, and weights worked well. There seemed to be plenty of stores and restaurants in the area.

Hotel was good. Shuttle pickup not reliable. Waited hour and half for pu from train station. Which is only 2 miles away from hotel. Finally got an Uber.

The stay was good. The pool was closed.

Hiden fee of $18 per day for parking, gym, pool (pool was not functional), and breakfast. Parking lot was not cleaned and unsafe area in general. Will not stay there again.

I would have given it five stars, but the shuttle service was a 30 minute wait each time.

The exterior of the hotel is very welcoming, and both the main areas and our room were clean upon arrival. Breakfast was good. However, during our four-night stay, housekeeping service was lacking. Our room was never refreshed, and I had to place our garbage outside the door to have it emptied. We also had to visit the front desk ourselves for fresh towels and toilet paper. The pool was uncomfortably cold and had a greenish appearance, which made it uninviting. Customer service was lacking, during our stay, not a single staff never said "hi" to us once coming or going. Sunday morning the staff member support the breakfast area snapped at me. I tried to get her attention and she said to me "What do you want?" and when I asked her for plates she said "I'll get to when I get to it" then came out and slammed them on the counter next to my husband and I. Overall it was "Okay".

The hotel offered shuttle service so it made it convenient to get around and they have parking that’s included in the “resort fee” also offer continental breakfast.

Took two hours for the airport pick up. They told me they would be there earlier, and even took down my number. But when they didn’t show, I called and they were like…sorry we’ve been busy. We will be there later. You already had my number. If it’s actually going to be a TWO HOUR wait, shouldn’t you have called me back to inform me??? Also, just FYI the shuttle isn’t available 24hr as advertised on their own wall sign but actually starts at 7am. When I called the hotel, I was placed on hold for 10-15 minutes. This happened not once but twice The carpet on the 5th floor looks old dirty and disgusting. And the ice machine was also broken. The only positive was that the room was very spacious and clean. Now I know why this place is so cheap.

Indoor swimming pool is closed for unknown dates. Otherwise property is good for the amount of money I paid for.

The room was very clean and in great condition. The bed was soft and comfortable.

Blood stains on the bedsheet. Mop was left in the shower. I told the front desk, but it was never taken care of.

There was mold on our shower curtain and in the shower. I had to ask 3 times to get it cleaned and replaced. I asked for housekeeping 4 times over the 5 days we were there and it never happened. The front desk was rude when i asked for towels and told me they didn’t have any that they were being washed did not offer me a time when they would be available just turned away from me as though I had not asked for anything bottom line is you almost get what you pay for but other options might make better sense

Not cleaned well in the room. Dirty spots in corners and blood spot on the shower door.

We discovered a large dead rat in our room under the sofa. It had chewed up the framing of the hideaway mattress pullout. There was also a large brown spot in the middle of the hideaway mattress. The hallway by the office smelled like burnt noodles. Deborah, the manager was rude.

We were met with a very dirty shower stall.

Booked this place because it was inexpensive and had many reviews applauding its cleanliness. This was not the case. The first room we were given keys to had not been turned over yet. We were issued new keys. It was obvious the room had not been properly cleaned, and all that was done was the linens and towels changed (I hope). The bathroom sink had toothpaste in it, the couch was stained all over, the walls had brown sludge dripping down, toilet dirty, etc etc etc. There are plenty of hotels in the area. Please avoid this one.

The rooms are great, very large, clean and comfortable. Only complaint is the smell of weed in the hallways. They make it pretty clear to everyone, signage all over. Unfortunate the crowd there can’t just step outside to light up.

Upon getting into the room we needed toiletries and the response was come and get them we don’t have time to bring them to you. From there it just got worse. I’ve never been in such a foul and disgusting room where most of us didn’t even shower or open their suitcase. The shower had several duct tape patches, covered in pink and black soap scum, drain plug was broken, and the best part was the hair left behind. The curtains had dead bugs on them and red stains. Couch had several white stains as well. Overall if we would’ve had time to switch hotels before our event we most definitely would’ve. Honestly we shouldn’t have had to pay for the room. I hope others leave their honest review to help other customers save their money and stay somewhere else.

Towel not clean, I found there is hair on the towel

This hotel definitely needs updating. The rooms are dark and cramped, the air conditioner blew directly on me during the night (1 foot away), the bathroom sink counter area is too small to put anything and impossible to share, some outlets didn't work, and the lobby was too small.

The location was great. The room was excellent, large and clean. My only complaint would be that the wifi was horrible, extremely slow. Because I was on a business trip, had I known this beforehand I would have stayed somewhere else.

Loved the rooms and bed

The room was huge and in great shape. Very comfortable bed. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

From outside the property the hotel looks great. Hotel staff could wear a smile on their face when greeting guests. The room I stayed in with my family was cleaner than I expected and a good size for 5 people. If you’re thinking about having some peace and quiet look elsewhere. I can’t believe how thin the walls are at this hotel. You can hear conversations happening on one side of the wall and banging, yelling, and moans on the other side of the wall. Had to turn up the volume on the tv to drown the noises out which helped a bit.

Nice modern rooms, coupled with free parking, and even a continental breakfast made it a great stay. But two things made it a five star review. One is they have TVs that you can connect your Netflix account to, which I love because I hate regular commercial TV when I’m trying to relax, and two I left something in the room and the staff was very accommodating in getting me my item, which is very much appreciated.

Our room smelled musty. The bolt on the door didnt work, they dont clean your room. But the room was a nice size. Decent for the money.

We loved that the couch had a trundle bed. It would have been nice if it was farther from the door.

Only problem can hear rooms next store way too easily

The longest check in I have ever experienced. Two people ahead of me and it took over 30 minutes. Check in started at 4:00. I got there at 5:00 and my room was not ready. They were scrambling to get the rooms done. For having such a late check in, there shouldn’t have been any reason for rooms to not be available. I did like the layout of the room, although the room I reserved had a bathtub but the room I was given did not. Uncertain if I’d stay here again since I didn’t get what I paid for.

The room was quite dirty, we had a king suite. Check-in was a bit chaotic. No one seemed to know what was going on, the kid that was at the front counter was very unprofessional. We had our luggage held for us and he didn’t even assist us in getting it to our room, he just stood in the doorway texting.. we asked him to schedule his schedule for us. And in the morning, they had no shuttle for us saying that he never did it...

The front desk and shuttle service weee excellent. Free hearty breakfast, free airport shuttle, little gym and little pool. This was an excellent choice for our short stay in the Seattle area. Avi, the front desk supervisor was especially friendly and helpful

I would stay again, but FYI-Check in was sub standard. The desk staff spoke little English, so communication was difficult. Check in wasn’t until 4:00 & we were early so I paid $50 fee to check in early. We had a group of 12, with 3 rooms; only 1 was ready. However, by 3:30 rooms were still not ready for other guests as well as our other 2. Obviously, there is a problem with staffing as well as communication with the cleaning people as we had been there for over 4 hrs! The pool was nice & kids swam while waiting. There were no towels, so we shared towels from the one room. The rooms were very nice & clean. Beds were good; pillows were meh. The showers were great. Breakfast was good: scrambled eggs, sausage patties & potatoes. Also oatmeal in a crockpot as well as miso soup. There were other favorites too. As guests you get transportation to & from the airport & within a 5 mile radius. This is good, EXCEPT there is only 1 van! With the poor communication & changing desk staff reserving the van didn’t mean you actually got it when you wanted it. My son in law went down early & overheard the driver talking about leaving with another group, which would have meant he would missed have his reserved time to the airport! The other group was willing to go with him, but the driver got confused & told them to wait until he came back - a 45 min wait. Why? Buy a 2nd van! The van driver routinely talked & texted on the phone~ not good!! A headset should be provided for passenger safety.

We’ve stayed at this property before and have had no issues- which is why we booked again. We request Sonesta properties. This stay was beyond disappointing. Checking in was fine, however, our room had several non-working lights, half of them actually, the phone didn’t work and there were several dark hairs(my husband and I are blondes, my daughter has red hair) left on the floor and in towels. We arrived late, had errands and a very late dinner reservations- THEN we discovered these issues, so they didn’t have the ability to solve the issues at 10:30pm. To top the stay off, our family was getting ready to leave and at 10:30am(with an 11am checkout), the cleaning person let themselves in without knocking WHILE my 14 year old daughter was changing. Thankfully we had secured the crossbar so they could enter, but this was entirely inappropriate. They could have walked right in on my minor daughter and it was completely unacceptable. I brought this up to the desk clerk at checkout and they smirked, and said “sorry ma’am”. That was it. There was not even a mention of talking to the cleaning crew, which was absolutely warranted. I’m so disappointed. As a repeat booker of this property- never again.

Called direct # for shuttle pickup from airport while at baggage claim, was told to call back when outside which was 30 seconds away. Then called back, put on hold for 5 minutes and then was told 15-20 minutes. Waited over 30 minutes. Checked into room. Reservation was for 5 people. There were only 3 towels in the room. Called front desk and was told we had to go downstairs to pickup more towels, they could not bring them to us. Asked to speak to manager, there is no manager on duty. Why am I not surpised. Terrible experience and customer service.

Close to airport; surrounding area was a bit sketchy; comfortable and clean, not elegant

Convenient location to the airport and the parking was readily available. Breakfast (included in hotel fee) was just average but plentiful.

It was our first time to the Seattle area, so we loved the location of the hotel in Renton. Not to far from the airport and not to far from where we needed to get to in the area. The hotel itself was very clean, modern, with good amenities. The rooms were comfortable and the layout was really nice. The quiet location was also important to get the rest we needed. My only beef is that the hotel front desk tried to upcharge us without communicating their intent. When we were checking out we noticed a $50 extra charge for early check-in. This was never requested by us, nor was it communicated when we checked in. To me that is borderline dishonest and should be addressed by management. However, once we brought it to the attention of the front desk they resolved it and took the charge off our bill.

Hotel is very clean, easy to get to and in a very quiet location. No dining options immediately by the hotel, but there are options not far. Staff was friendly and helpful! Breakfast was good. Indoor pool was nice, a bit cold, but the kids still enjoyed it! Had a very nice stay!

The place is great for short business room are big and clean with nice kitchen and office area. however the location in Renton is not good. I did not feel safe outside the hotel after 8PM.

Easy freeway access and close to mall.

It was a quiet,comfortable and close to Sea-Tac airport without being too close.

Nice hotel, good parking, in quiet area

Quiet place to stay away from the the hussle and bussle of downtown. Close to lots of shopping and dining.

Everything was fine. Breakfast was great. Room was clean. It was quiet and we were right next to the elevator. Wet convenient to the airport and the rental car complex. Several places to eat in the immediate vicinity as well.

You pay a $17 resort fee for parking/breakfast, which would be ok if the breakfast was better. Cleaning service never came to our room in the 6 days we were there, despite signage saying they would spruce up the room daily (we could’ve asked but by the time we realized it, we had 2 more days - so we just got clean towels and called it a day). The AC/heat doesn’t have an option to leave the fan just running, which is frustrating for noise purposes, because it would be nice to have something to drown out the cars on the street and other guests, etc. Other than that, the staff was nice, the hotel was decent and the rooms are good sized.

Sonesta charges $17.99 per person for breakfast, when it stated free breakfast on Expedia listing. Staff was less than kind & pool broken. Rooms were clean & had a nice setup.

The rooms were very nice. The breakfast was very basic. I expected more when one pays an additional 17.99 per person. The staff was not welcoming, and showing appreciation for staying at this property.

The breakfast buffet was lacking with many items empty and not refilled. Higher expectations especially when being charged a “resort fee”.

The room was fine, however I did not like the fact they charge a “resort fee” to cover the cost of breakfast, parking, and airport shuttle. Just build the cost into your room rate.

Breakfast is not so good

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included as part of the unavoidable resort fee, which was somewhat hidden on the Hotels.com website in the fine print. It included the usual foods - adequate but nothing to rave about. Room was good, bed was good. The side of the bed with the clock only has an electric outlet directly underneath the shelf holding the clock - virtually unusable. The other side has one built in by the phone. This was fine traveling solo, but would have been a real aggravation had my spouse been traveling with me because we both use CPAP machines at night. Hope Sonesta will consider changing this. I'm sure we're not the only ones who want to plug things in on both sides of the bed.

Great variety of breakfast options

This hotel was amazing. It was clean and beautiful. The breakfast was a full meal and delicious. Worth every penny.
