Very clean, newly remodeled, great service, good lounge, nice machine coffeehouse. And EV charger! Only disappointment was the pool only opens starting August 1st--I assumed when booking it was summer already and 22°C already. So had to figure alternate plans for my 4 teen boys. Definitely a return!

the only reason we booked this staycation was to enjoy the pool. It was closed our entire stay due to poor staff communication and improper chemical maintenance. Disappointed we did not get offered a return coupon or any incentive, not even an apology for the inconvenience.

Overall the room and bathroom were clean, except the carpet was not clean enough for our baby to crawl on, it was either staining his clothes or just a bit dirty. The bedding was clean and very comfortable. The hot water was abundant and readily available and the water pressure was good. The staff was attentive and there were enough amenities for our stay. Overall this was a great option for a budget hotel.

Checking in was fast with a very friendly clerk at the ready. Once in our room, we noticed a fowl smell and brought it to the clerks attention. He brought us a room deodorizer that helped but was a temporary fix. The smell wouldn't go away so we had asked for the spray an additional 2 times. On top of that issue, we had a mouse in our room that left droppings in the bathroom. I called the front desk to have our room cleaned up and looked at. All room service did was take out the dirty towels, empty the trash and make the beds. Nothing was scrubbed in the bathroom and mouse poop was still on the bathroom baseboards and in our shower. Checkout was 9/14 and not a single member of management has reached out to address these concerns.

The room was clean, but smelled like cigarette smoke. We complained and they offered to ozonote the room, which they said they did but it made little difference. It’s a nonsmoking hotel. Really a turn off and would not stay again.

The room was very clean. A very comfortable bed and the shower was incredible. Great staff. The only downside is that there is minimal handicapped parking, and no elevator. Would stay again if we were visiting Courtenay.

The room has recently been renovated and is nice. The showers are amazing! Beds were comfortable! The walls are thin, noises from other guests woke us in the late evening/early morning. They are renovating the property area and pool area. Disappointed the pool area was closed, but I would stay here again! They are making great changes. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Suggestion: A nice lounge area would be awesome on the second floor in the open area! It would be a great place to get shade and relax with friends!

Rainshower and AC are good room features.Good parking, nearby places to eat. No regular coffee (decaf only) in rooms and no effort to purchase any when we asked for some, so we had to buy k-cups of regular coffee at a local store to use in room. Tiny room. No beside reading lamps. Light over the bed keeps one person awake if the other needs a light to read - very poor design.

Hotel was good, but communication lacked. I emailed them 3 weeks before requesting a ground floor room. I was arriving late and had lots of luggage. When I checked in, they didn't have a ground floor room. Seems as if no one even received my email. It's fine if they didn't have one available, but they need to communicate that. My room was small. Just enough space for a king size bed and a washroom. This was my first time staying here, but I book anywhere between 3-7 days a month for my employees.

The service we received was outstanding. The Coast Courtenay was recently renovated obviously for the comfort and convenience of the guests. It was immaculately clean with modern stylish fittings. The shower was large with both handheld and rain shower head. We received a goodie basket, as no upgrade room was available. The reception area had 24 hour free coffee with several varieties of coffee and the entire wall was a television. There was a 55” tv in our room. There is a pleasant outside area to sit and read, visit or enjoy a coffee. There was lots of parking and easy entrance from the main road. The Driftwood Mall was easy walking distance and there was a restaurant just across the parking lot. We will definitely be returning to this very friendly hotel.

Love staying at the Cliffe. Staff is always super friendly, eager to help and always extremely professional. Ash continued this excellent service right from the time of check in to showing us our room making sure everything was good. Then Mani making a special trip to the room just to confirm everything was adequate and to make sure we knew if we needed anything he was always available. Mani even remembering me from my last visit just made it more personable. Just don’t get service at this level nowadays. Awesome job Ash and Mani see you soon! Management you got two priceless employees who know what customer service is they deserve so much recognition!

The hotel staff went out of their way to ensure a smooth and friendly check-in. And after we had settled into a room they actually called to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Even though the room was close to Highway 19a, it was still quiet and it had air conditioning which was great. There is a restaurant within a 1-minute walk which was great for breakfast (Plates) It was also nice that they had a smart TV so one could log in and use whatever apps like Netflix or Prime to log into their own account to watch TV. I would definitely stay here again and I appreciate the courteous and kind service while we were there.

The welcome was warm and friendly, one of the best I’ve ever had. Room had been renovated and very thoughtfully. Great shower head. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

Comfy beds, big soft towels, clean soft linens. Ample free parking. Nice lounge area in reception with self serve coffee in addition to Kuerig machines and supplies in each room. Staff is helpful, quick, efficient and very kind.

The Cliffe has been under extensive renovation...equipment and workers in parking lot, pool unavailable. Also, there is no breakfast (this was incorrect online). The room was not large, however it was all new and modern. The king bed was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly. We would definitely stay there again, and recommend to friends!
