There is very limited parking. I had come in late and there was only one spot left. I had to leave again and come back and was concerned that there would be no parking. The guy at the front desk said they had an agreement with the superstore for extra parking. The superstore is across the road and down the way. I would absolutely not feel comfortable walking alone from the superstore at night to get to the hotel. Went to get ice and was told that the ice machine was broken. On one of the beds, there was a drop of blood is what it seemed like and one of the pillows had something on it as well. Front desk staff were nice. Lobby is beautiful.

The rooms were clean and a good size. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The carpet in the stairway needs replacing. Upgrades are happening so hopefully the carpet is on the list. There is not adequate parking at the hotel. Fortunately the nearby Superstore does have a large parking lot.

I was under the impression that I was getting access to breakfast. But they only do breakfast Fri-Sun. Also I asked where the ice machine was. 2nd floor couldn’t find it. Had to go back to desk. Associate laughed said it’s there just hidden behind a wall. There should be some signage. Coffee was horrible in the room and the bar only had wine from a box.

Stains on curtains, absolutely disgusting. Extremely dusty. Ice machine was broken...received ice from bar had black specs in it. Restaurant was closed. Elevator was stinky. Although, and having said that the front desk staff who wore many hats were magnificent.

There was only one light source in the bedroom (one lamp). Drapes could not be opened without neighboring buildings looking in. The room was located on the second floor. Difficult to find things in the room at night. Breakfast not included. There is a laundry facility (1 washer and 1 dryer) available in the basement. Coin operated ($1.75 per load). Bring your own detergent.

Nice hotel decorated with lots of vintage finery. Staff was nice and offered us tea and coffee and hot chocolate. The elevator is small…I felt like I was wearing it as a parka, but the stairs were lovely! Carpets and chandeliers everywhere. The neighbourhood was a quieter residential area. Our room was nice and had a little kitchenette. My family liked it a lot.

This property looked like it had potential.... at some point. Everything appeared to be decent but in some sort of disrepair. The gym was closed due to vandalism, the restaurant was closed the first night I checked in (no idea why), the fixtures/decor/furniture was well-used and requiring attention and/or replacement. Staff were friendly but not engaged (I don't blame them). The property was in dire need of an insurgence of funds and an even larger amount of care.

Nice room, but I spilled some water on the floor and wiped it up with a white clothe and it was black with filth. Checking in, the lady was not kind to me, seemed to be judging me for staying there, I have no idea. But solo women get that sometimes. Not sure why this is called a Boutique Hotel. Zero special services.

I personally wouldn't choose this location again. Had two rooms booked and they were both incorrect. Booked in April for June. The person travelling with us had an issue with their room and was switched to another with a broken shower. Towels and bedding were dirty and stained.

each room seems to have a theme. the 3 rooms i saw were asian inspired, or african inspired..which i guess was kinda cool. The furniture was quite worn, one room smelled stongly of bleach however walking on the floor with white socks or bare feet was not a good idea as the wooden floor was quite dirty. swept but dirty. one room smelled of old cigaret smoke. but i would stay again as hotels in halifax are rediculously priced now. but look for a deal on expedica or some other place as the 200 price they are currently asking is too high.

It was very old and dirty hotel, smells very bad and mouldy room I’m not recommending that and parking spot was very free but there wasn’t space to park your vehicle

The room was adequate but nothing special. Broken floor boards, dripping bath faucet, lumpy ridges in bed. Thankfully we had two beds or it would have been uncomfortable to share. Had to clean up a couple dead bugs on the floor of our room. Fitness facility was outdated and random assortment of equipment, but we were able to get a sweat on.

The check in and check out were very simple and easy. The room was comfortable. The only thing I found disappointing was the temperature of the shower continually changed from hot to cold which made that experience unpleasant-the rest was very good including clean fresh linens and towels

I felt the rooms were noisy, there was a lot of dirt around the door of our hotel room door. What they had advertised for breakfast hours was earlier than the staff were prepared for. This meant we did not have the time we thought we would have prior to our departure for the airport.

This hotel was horrible. From the parking being very limited, to the hot hallways, elevators were extremely small, noisy and felt very unsafe. The fridge in the room was warm, the a/c did not work well. The bathroom was very small and the reason for us cutting our stay short there was because there was no hot water and the water pressure was none existent. We will NEVER stay here again, and would not recommend this place to anyone ever!!

The only criticism I have is that the air conditioning was very noisy and the windows didn't open so that wasn't an option either. Otherwise, nice place, nice stay for a nice price!

Inexpensive and it shows. There was no hot water from the time we checked in Sunday until Tuesday morning at 0600. The staff did not tell us when we checked in that there was no hot water or offer any refund or give us the option to go somewhere else. The staff kept giving us different times when the water would be fixed and it wasn't. We found out by accident when we tried it Tuesday morning.There is a pub with slot machines and it is loud as our room was right above the outside area where people smoked.

We've stay here before and would stay again in a heart beat! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and well supplied. The bed was also very comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy. We had supper in the restaurant the fries were amazing! I had Nachos the meat was over cooked which was a bit disappointing. We also had breakast before we checked out. My scramble eggs were delicious! They were missing some items on the menu however and did not offer a substitution. Hotel 10/10 restaurant 6 out of 10. We had great service. Would we eat there again? Probably.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We got in very early and were very tired and the staff helped us check in early to a different room so we could sleep. All the staff was very friendly and chatted with us for the couple nights we stayed. I highly recommend for people to stay here. You will not be disappointed.

The staff, although pleasant, were not very helpful. Seemed under staffed. When i said the toilet in my room wasnt working, i was offered a plunger. When i asked if someone could come look at it, i was told " no not today ". There is a really sketchey motel type building across the street. Parking is really tight. They call this a "boutique inn". Its just a regular low end hotel with slightly different art work. No amenities.

Breakfast in the bar was delayed by an hour due to the cook being late. Each meal arrived about 2 minutes apart and there was some confusion over toast. My egg was a disaster. We had to wait to check in as staff was not available.

The area around the property is sketchy. The property itself is very outdated and overdue for a renovation. No sound isolation between rooms at all! I was able to hear someone watching tv, showering, drying their hair, talking in the next room. The glass washroom door was the cherry on the top - no privacy in the bathroom! However, the staff is very nice and helpful.

We all know the saying "Never judge a book by its cover". That applies to this hotel. From the outside you may be a little wary but keep an open mind. The rooms and hallways have been renovated and our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. You will want a car to get around, but it is about a 20 minute drive to the bridge to Halifax and is close to the highways.

This is a great hotel which is in the midst of a full renovation (no construction). The Bannock Lake is across the road, and it is beautiful with great cafes and food trucks. Superstore is also across the street. Would return.

The heart stone Inn was located a block away from the Atlantic superstore, which was convenient. The hotel was reasonably priced compared to some hotels in Halifax and easy to get to from the airport.

The lobby was beautiful but the location was so run down that it felt unsafe to park/leave the vehicle let alone walk outside at dark. Jokes with other guests that we all felt the same - funny but not funny. The room was clean except the room itself feels like it’s never been deep cleaned.

The staff at the Hearthstone Inn Dartmouth were very friendly & helpful. The room itself was clean & the beds were very comfortable. Our TV had no cable from the TV to the cable box so it wasn't useable & the tub leaked / dripped all night which was a little annoying come 2:00 am. My biggest complaint however is that the website states there is breakfast included; there is not, which was a large reason that we even booked this specific hotel. There's an ice bucket the he room but no ice or water machines to fill it. After going down to the front desk to inquire, she said "there's one on the 2nd floor but you can fill your bottle at the bar" - not really ideal for my 8 year old daughter. And in the morning, before searching for our invisible breakfast, we went to the second floor in search of ice & only found a vending machine.

Nous sommes surpris, une fois dans la salle de déjeuner, d'apprendre que le petit déjeuner n'est pas inclus et qu'il faudrait payer. Car sur votre site ( Expédia) c'est stipulé petit déjeuner inclus. Le superviseur a l'accueil nous a dit qu'ils ont signalé ce problème a vous (Expédia) et que vous n'avez pas pris en compte leur requête. Nous avons fini par accepter de payer et le responsable a fait un crédit de bonne volonté de 10$ .

Room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Construction in the area started very early at 7 a.m. We decided to eat at the restaurant on site for dinner but we were very disappointed with how long it took to get our meals and when we did it was only 2 of the 4 meals that came out and the other 2 meals didn't come out until 15 minutes later plus one of them was burnt. Our server was very nice and apologized sevel times.
