Travelodge by Wyndham Kenora

Building is falling apart and needs some renovations. Old and dingy look. That pool and shot tub area should be blocked off and not accessible to patrons until fixed and up and running. Looks horrible and unsafe to let people walk through there. Room met our needs but needs freshening up. Thanks

If we had read the reviews prior to booking we probably would not have stayed here. The hotel/motel is needing some updating and the 2 pools are in disrepair. Carpets are badly worn but as the front desk said this is only a one star hotel. Having said that it has no qualms about charging nearly $300 per night. We were on a 30 day road trip and have stayed at far better for considerably less. Needless to say would not stay here again and probably bypass Kenora altogether.

Room smelled like someone had thrown up in it just before we got there. The pool is permanently closed. There is a homeless encampment behind the hotel. They stole everything out of the back of my truck. The police won't do anything. The hotel refuses to provide security. GARBAGE HOTEL!

Location is good. A couple blocks away from historic downtown and walk around waterfront. We did not eat at hotel restaurant choosing to pick up McDonalds after our walk around the area. We ate outside at the picnic tables on premises. We were very disappointed with the poor condition of hotel, especially in relation to the price of our room. Inside pool closed, outside pool closed and had not even been operational for some length of time. Hotel is clean but very tired. The clerk at reception was welcoming and offered assistance with luggage etc. as no elevator.

Would be nice if either if the pools would be fixed, filled and opened. Summer stay and no swimming for the kids

The staff was really friendly. I was really happy to see they had EV chargers on site.

Pool was closed, no elevator, evening staff not very friendly, beside a McDonald’s so garbage around parking lot and kids loitering out front. Room did not appear to have been vacuumed.

Pool not working. Carpet extremely dirty. Homeless people hanging around room entrance. I was scared for my car’s safety.

Check-in was very easy. Staff was friendly. Room was okay but very dark and old. Appreciated that there was an EV charger on site.

Unclean room.

Front desk worker was ok. Breakfast was not included, and I had to ASK about any discounts as a guest before she offered me a 10% off coupon. Hallway to room STUNK of something unknown covered up with old cleaner smell. Room door was completely stuck. Had to get help to get it open. Room was old and discusting. Couch has stains all over it, along with a room chair. Window frames have almost no paint left on them- same as tv stand/dresser. Bathroom lighting made the bathroom feel like a prison. Mattress on one bed was caved in and needed to be replaced or flipped. Sketchy people hovering around hotel all night, made it feel unsafe. Would NEVER stay there again.

The hotel is dated and the pool was closed. But the room was okay and very clean. I spilt water on the floor and when I wiped it, the paper towel was not that dirty!! I was impressed. Beds were soft, I prefer firm. The pillows were good though.

Staff was friendly and the sheets and towels, sink and tub were clean. The carpet was disgraceful, however. Dirty and smelled musty and had blood spots and stains. The rest of the facility is old and is in serious need of an update or demolition. The back parking lot area had people “hanging out” and was seriously sketchy. I was worried for my vehicle. Not sure how a hotel chain like Wyndham would find a property in this condition acceptable.

The carpet in our room was so filthy my wife had to wash her feet after walking on it. I also had to kill a large beetle in the hallway.

The staff at this hotel were very nice, but unfortunately this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The property was very dingy. There is no elevator, so we lugged all our things up the dirty stairs, and nearly tripped trying to avoid a pile of hay that was left on the stairs. The room had a disgusting odour to it. Most of everything was worn down and stained. We weren’t comfortable taking off our shoes due to the condition of the carpet. The bathroom had mold in it, and was very dirty. The shower curtain was ripped along the whole top and was also quite worn. I really don’t recommend this place.

A terrible property . Poor location, outside is in poor repair, windows and entry are filthy. Check in area is dirty and untidy. Room has filthy carpet, bed is worn and uncomfortable, spilled drinks are on the walls. Bathroom has been badly repaired and is tiny. Just bad No

The bathtub needed a better cleaning. The rugs are old and appear not to be clean. It was too expensive for these type of issues.

The room was spacious and clean. The ceiling had a big crack in it.

It's a very nice place, clean and accommodating, the only issue is that they say sound proof and it's not. Should have suspected that it wasn't because they actually say it is in their ad. A bit misleading but a very nice place otherwise. It's per friendly and that's what kept me up most the night. I could here the dogs nails as it paced and whined the whole night.

Nice clean and quiet room for the night

Very comfortable and clean. The decor is a bit on the old side but useable. The room was big and could have used more furniture such as a table with chairs. The TV is kind of small, especially when watching from the bed. My eyesight is getting a bit poorer and the text is difficult to see. Staff was very helpful and enjoyed the restaurant.

Room was a nice size

This is not a destination lodging but a place to sleep while on a road trip. The hallway looks like a set from a 70’s slasher movie. Once we got in the room though, it was perfectly fine. The bed and linens were comfortable and clean and the bathroom was nicely updated. Air conditioning was cold. The carpets looked dingy but it may be due to a terrible design choice from the get go.

It was a great stop over in our way through town. The place was what you would expect but the internet sucked. Hard to connect. It wasn’t always “available”.

Comfy beds but noisy (could hear the people upstairs walking around all night). Convenient location on highway 17. Both indoor and outdoor pools weren’t in service. Expensive for what you get!

My husband had a horrible experience. The person at the desk was very rude to him. He said very rude things to him. He was not able to check in. I had already paid and it is nonrefundable. I hope something can be done about this!

Traveling with children is challenging enough without getting stuck in a lineup due to road closure. Sitting for 4 hours and getting dark we decided to find a hotel like a few other dozen people. The staff were very friendly and checked us as quickly as they could with everyone else that was trying to find rooms. It is a basic hotel not fancy emeneties but clean and quiet place to sleep.

When we arrived, we waited in the lobby for at least 10 minutes until someone arrived to check us in. The carpet in the room was very dirty Both pools are closed and apparently have been closed for 2 years People doing drugs in the parking lot just outside our room window When we spoke to the front desk people on checkout they told us they would take $100.00 off our bill, so we left for a funeral. When we checked our receipt and bill it was for the exact amount that was in the original email from Expedia so no discount was given

Would not recommend! We were sleeping and were woken up by someone trying to enter our room with a key card. The door opened but luckily we had the latch on. I thought maybe we slept past check out but it was only 9am. My husband jumped up and looked in the hallway. This guy was hiding around the corner. He was housekeeping for the hotel. He did not knock or announce himself. Very disturbing and invasive.

Do not stay at this hotel. I reserved the hotel through Expedia and chose the pay at property option. When we arrived and checked in, the property and room looked nothing like the pictures online. The room was dingy, dirty and the bed was horrible. We checked out two minutes later. At that point the front desk staff was helpful, and assured me that I would be fully refunded because we weren’t satisfied with the room, which I greatly appreciated. I was told that the hold on my credit card would take 24-48 hours. Well, come to find out that not only do I still not have my money back almost a full week later (I was there June 28, and it’s now July 4), but they also put a hold on my card for $580 when it was supposed to be $480. I called the property again today after speaking with my bank and was asked to call back after 8:30am when the manager would be there, so I did. This time the woman who answered the phone was not helpful at all, and actually hung up on me. I called back and she refused to give me her name, and the manager is still not available. She basically just sat there on the phone without responding to me. Not only was the room unacceptable, but now they’ve had my money for a room I didn’t stay in for almost a week, charged me too much and are extremely rude about helping me get it figured out! She blamed my bank, she blamed Expedia (I called them and they opened an investigation with this property). If I could give negative stars I would!

My window's had no locks on them. Also cob webs outside on window screen. Carpet was very old and warren and felt dirty just walking on it . My room bed did not get changed and had to complain. All in all one of worse experience i have had

I paid 316dollars for just one night. In my opinion it doesnt justify the price at all. The staff however was the best. Really friendly and helpful. My only remark would be the prics vs what you get. I understand there's a high demand for accommodation in the area, however it doesnt justify the price.

Was pretty clean however behind bathroom door was dust and long brown hairs that certainly were not ours. Bed appeared clean however the mattress was horribly broken down and both of us had very sore backs in the morning from the dips and non support. The coffee was replaced but no condiments. The dirty towels placed on the floor were not taken away. The bed was not made up each day. Air conditioning was great. The number of towels left in the bathroom was great.

Hotel was ok, it's old but clean. The area is terrible, over run with crime. Kids watched drug deals out the windows of the hotel, cops were there several times arresting people, our vehicle got broke into and stuff stolen

I was amazed that my car was still there in the morning. It’s dated and tired but not filthy. The bed was actually so comfortable. A lot of homeless people that hang out all around the motel.

The hotel seemed like it must have been from the 1950s. The positive was the bedding and towels seemed clean. The carpets must have been the original and I didn’t even feel comfortable walking on them. The room was not level and the picture when I booked the room was nothing like what we got. The area going in and out of the hotel was dirty and the unhoused had camped out behind the hotel. The staff were Very pleasant.

Filthy, stained, unsafe, homeless openly doing crack on property. I wouldn’t take my shoes off or get undressed. Afraid to leave my car because of the homeless in area. I wouldn’t even shower as I just am afraid of what will Come out of the taps Can't wait to check out!!! FAR FAR FAR OVERPRICED!!! Expedia take this property off of your list!!!!! You should be ashamed to suggest this place.

The beds and bedding were comfy and clean. The rest of the hotel was fairly clean but kind of smelled. There were crackheads in the parking lot so it felt unsafe for vehicles. The town seemed a bit riddled with crackheads so probs not the hotels fault.

This place was in the perfect location

This property is not worth the money they charge. The property is run down, doesn’t have an elevator and loud. There’s also no breakfast like advertised

They have a lovely restaurant right in the hotel; made it easier to plan our day; being our first time in Kenora. Staff was friendly.

Parking was tight but available. Lighting in bathroom was dim. Attached restaurant and bar were very good. Meal was excellent. It was quiet and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay.

I was happy with the room. I was not happy with the fact that the restaurant, pool, and hot tub were all closed. So I had to go and find places to eat. None of the information was on the site.

Another low budget rest your head location. Solo mission so it was fine for me. Don't expect much, but its fine instead of camping. I went to adjoining restaurant/"lounge", and was immediately propositioned for money. Fine for me, I know how to say no. Cheap and cheerful.

The hotel in general was fine, it was clean, bed was good, personal was nice and there is a restaurant for breakfast and dinner This is a very old hotel and it need a lot of renovation, specially exterior and doesn’t look like it’s regularly maintained. So i find the price way too high for what you got.
