Decent location but noisy road: simple double glazing would fix that. A/C also very noisy. The shower is old and difficult to set water temperature. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the gym was better than expected.

So disappointed in this stay First, I booked the hotel because I had a 6 a.m. flight the next morning and wanted to be close and use the free shuttle. When I arrived, I discovered the shuttle doesn't run that early in the morning after October 1 so I had to spend money on an Uber. Second, the room was very small and outdated. The hotel is old and hasn't been upgraded at all. Finally, I woke up at midnight to discover water dripping from the ceiling above my bed! Clearly, there had been a water leak before as I could see water stains on the ceiling when I went to bed but never expected a full on shower in my room! I called the front desk and the initial respond was "is it bad?" I said YES. The front desk clerk came up to look and didn't seem surprised- he said "oh someone must be taking a shower upstairs" as if this is a normal thing. Long story short is that I had to switch rooms in the middle of the night when I had a 3:30 a.m. wake up call. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep and the entire stay was extremely disappointing. The staff wasn't that apologetic and didn't offer to discount my stay or make up for the inconveiences.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly front desk person who helped me with checkin. It was quick and easy. I got my key cards and headed upstairs to my room. It took me a while to figure out how to swipe the key card to enter my room, but it turned out that only one of the two key cards I was given worked. No big deal. Once I entered the room, I was happy with the clean room and working AC/heater. What was a pleasant surprise is a brand new smart TV. I for some reason couldn't do airplay, but I brought an HDMI cable. Clean and comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Next morning, I went downstairs for the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast staff were courteous. For the price point, I didn't expect much for the breakfast. The scrambled eggs, yogurt, pastries, and fresh fruits were the highlights. After that, I did an online checkout and left for the airport. Free shuttles between the property and YVR. There is a small gym with the typical machines within the property, which I didn't know about.

I have used Abercorn for several visits when I am flying in or out of Vancouver. It’s reasonably priced, clean, has airport shuttle and in a decent area. Also has a restaurant on site. Good staff. And they provide a breakfast bag when you leave before the breakfast buffet opens

The stay at the hotel was alright. The staff were kind and friendly and greeted each guest at the front desk. Free shuttle bus to the airport. Free complimentary breakfast that runs from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Fairly good walking distance to the sky-train (about 10 min. walk). However, there were a couple of downsides to this hotel. First, the driver of the hotel expects them to be themselves, feeling a bit pressured when they are asked about it. Second, the gym is not open 24 hours (it only runs 6 AM-10 PM). The breakfast selections are mostly bread, muffins, and croissants. There is breakfast bacon sandwich which requires microwaving. I wish there were a bit more variety, such as fruit salads or ham/sausages. Another downside is that you have to request a room cleaning. No room service. There was one time when they forgot to do the room cleaning. To accommodate, they give extra towels. Overall, I would recommend to this hotel if you are staying 2 days and 1 night.

The staff are nice but everything about this property needs a massive renovation and repair. In 3 days, I had to move to four different rooms as the mold and mildew smells were unbearable and unhealthy. In almost every room that I looked at or stayed, you could see mold spots around the bathtub or on the walls and smell mold in the bathrooms. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.

The room we were initially put in had black mold on the walls and a poor smell. The staff were very helpful getting us placed in a different, renovated room. Found the location very convenient.

The property is old and out dated including all furnishings which we knew when we booked it. Normally, this would not be an issue for me if well kept and clean. It can often even add character. But this hotel was not the case. Our room was FILTHY! You could see the dust built up around the edge of the carpet and behind the furniture, on the lamps, headboards, etc. The white bedding was a greyish color it was questionable if it had even been changed between guests. A couple of our towels looked like rags with tattered edges and stains. The carpet was dirty. Furniture was all scarred and beat up. One headboard had some kind of cack dried all across it as did the very gross wallpaper on the bathroom walls. Behind the door in the bathroom were long black hairs that clearly didn't belong to us. The bathroom smelled like urine and the door and handle was very dirty, too. Although cheaper to stay here, it was not worth the savings to us. We will not stay here again and would not recommend.

Our room was dirty and dusty. Areas especially under furniture have not been cleaned in ages. The large towels are not cotton so not absorbest. The facilities are old which is forgiveable if kept clean. The matress is fair, but pillows are uncomfortable. Tv upgrade is needed.

The breakfast was okay, nothing special. The staff were fine. Unfortunately, the room had a strong mouldy and dusty smell from check-in until checkout, and it gave me headaches in the morning. No toilet paper and the toilet wasn’t clean enough (the inside, under the cover) It was only a short stay for a quick nap, but I’m not sure I would choose to stay there again.

Dated, old, smelly room. Towels smelled bad!! Bath room sink was cracking! Room keys only worked once so every time I left the room and want to go back in I need to go down to reception to get a new key! Breakfast was terrible! All carbs bread, bread and bread. Not even an egg!! Service at breakfast was bad. I was treated by the staff as I didn’t know what I was doing. It is a terrible stay. Glad I only need to stay there for one night if I need to stay in the area for another night I will definitely not going to stay in the same hotel.

Very close to airport, and the bathroom and shower was very large - those are really the only good things. The TV and room phone didn’t work, the bed was hard and lumpy springy. The window let in a lot of road noise and draft. Staff were nice. There’s a reason why it’s not expensive.

Room is dated but clean. Tv didn’t work so called desk and despite say she would get someone to help, no help arrived. The heater made a very loud buzzing when temperature reached so had to turn off heat. Bed is comfortable. Overall condition of hotel is tired. But rates are cheap.

I will give this a 3.5 stars. We stayed in room 315 for 2 nights. The early checkin was helpful, we got to the hotel around 11pm and just took the keys from the lobby. The checking staff was nice. The elevator needs some work the buttons are not always working. The room 315 was big it has a big washroom it has a kitchenette that we did not use it is a pull-out couch separate from the main room. The main room is fronting the main road which is quite noisy. The AC needs an update it's quite noisy and old. The bed was good it's clean and the firmness is just okay there were ample space for our stuff. The only thing I didn't like about that room was it looks really dark and it has carpet installed. The location was good for us since our friends are from Richmond and the hotel is also close to the airport. The hotel also fronts Costco which is quite OK. I wish there would be at least a couple of bottle of water in the fridge when we got in we had to ask the reception which he politely gave us a couple of bottles

The Wi-Fi is pretty much non existent. The front desk clerk needs to READ customer requests. Not really a fan of the hotel anymore. Much better in the past. Don’t know why I did a pre check in on line.

I booked the room through Expedia. When we arrived at the hotel, they didn’t have our booking in their system. With 15-20 mins of back and forth and a call to the manager, we finally got our room sorted. The on site staff was not helpful. Room was “ok” for the price. I would recommend spending a bit more money and avoid the stress.

This hotel denied me a room even though I had pre-paid. I arrived late at night to check in, only to be told that I had no reservation on file. They had taken my money, but then proceeded to rent my room to customers who booked direct. The receptionist told me as much: "the system sometimes doesn't see third-party bookings" He was apologetic but was completely unable to help because there were no available rooms. He suggested getting in touch with managers the next morning. Meanwhile I had to resort to searching for a last-minute room (none available in the area) and ended up needing to stay at a hostel far off in the suburbs. I was able to get a refund the next day, but needless to say no compensation for the stress, inconvenience, discomfort of a hostel stay, and extra cab fare to get back to the airport in the morning.

Very friendly and courteous front desk and breakfast staff. We planned to stay here for 12 nights so we inquired for a room lock safe. The local maintenence person went out of his way to find an available room with a safe and esorted us to the room to ensure it was available and functional.

We stayed at Abercorn hotel to catch our plane home the next afternoon. Staff were all very friendly, the room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great. Good choices, friendly staff and very clean. They had no problem giving us an hour later check out time at no extra charge. Shuttles were on time and convenient.

There's better places out there, though they have good options if you need flexibility like late check-out, last minute cancellation policy, parking, etc. The staff do not communicate to each other, nor did they seem to lookup notes - we had to communicate the same things to 4 different people throughout our stay, which ended up with unnecessary interruptions, frustration, and inconveniences.

Waited an hour for shuttle and not told when it ended. Arrived by taxi to find door locked and a doorbell. Rang the bell several times but no staff response. Was on verge of calling a cab to leave when an employee appeared and sat in the chair in the lobby. Aggressive knocking yielded no response. Another customer arrived and managed to open the door.

Location is perfect from Bridgeport Station, only 10 minute walk and offers great shuttle service to the airport. I loved the cozy Scottish feel as I am Scottish! ;) Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was huge, bigger than we thought. We just were surprised at the noise from the traffic so it was not so easy for a restful sleep.

It’s pretty good convenient location. Costco is right in front of the hotel. Complimentary breakfast opens at 6:30 am. No hot meals. Yet it’s continental.style. Very low shower water flow. Free shuttle to the airport. Train station is nearby with a seven minute walk distance.

Stayed here for 1 night to attend the Richmond Night Market. It’s very expensive for what you get and the whole place is pretty run down. The elevator button light doesn’t work. And there was hair on the coffee machine when we walked in. The included breakfast was terrible with no hot items. They laid out frozen waffles and pancakes and put a microwave next to them. We said no thank you and walked down to the Tim Hortons down the street. Save yourself the hassle and spend a little more and stay at a better place.
