Really great rooms for the price... absolutely loved that they converted the pool to a doggie park. I had a small poodle with me and he loved it! walked around the property without a leash without being scared.. ask for a room on first floor toward the front if bringing a pet or back second floor room if sensitive to road noice.

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Very spacious and looked remodeled. The Keurig coffee pot was a nice change vs the bags at the other hotels we stayed in during the week. The Grandmas Kitchen on the same property was a plus and was a great breakfast to fuel our day.

The property and units are extremely clean. It's a very good feeling to enter into such a clean unit. Management is very available and accommodating. In n out, Macdonald's, Denny's are all very close. 7-11 Across the street. Washer and dryer on the property. A very pleasant stay.

The location was perfect. Easy highway access & walking distance to stores & many delicious restaurants. On site parking is available, but is a 1st come basis so you may not get a space right outside your room. The parking lot is tight & difficult to maneuver in some areas. The staff was amazing. Super friendly & helpful. The room was spacious & comfortable. It was clean, but could have been cleaner. We found small blood spots on the bathroom wall & the sink had grawdoo under the front lip. Also found black hairs all over the bath towels. My biggest complaint was zero water pressure in the shower & the Internet was terrible. We like to watch YouTube, Netflix & stream music while sleeping. The Internet would buffer, or cut out every 5 minutes or so causing the music or show to pause & we would have to unpause it. Very annoying when you're trying to sleep & need some type of ambient noise to do so. I would wake every time the music stopped, unpause, fall asleep ...you get the picture. I can't emphasize enough, the staff & location were amazing. The price wasn't bad for the area. If they clean a little more thoroughly, fix the Internet & water pressure issues...I would most definitely stay there again.

They allow pets and they had 3 nice areas set up for pets. Parking is interesting sometimes a little hard to move around when the side gate is closed. The room was nice and clean. The TV was interesting, when watching a program the remote would go into a different mode on its own.

First, the price was right. However, this property has been rated as "wonderful." I would not rate it that high. Although, it was a good value we found hair in the bed and small blood stains on the sheets. Finally, it's the first time I've been awakened by a rat gnawing on wood.

The property has been updated & is nice but we found clumps of hair still on the shower wall, on the bathroom wall & bathroom counter. The room seemed to be clean but it didn’t leave a good feeling that it was. By the time we saw it the office was closed & we left before it opened so they weren’t given the opportunity to fix it.

Has been nicely updated. Clean, "newer" feel. Very convenient. Mins to Monterey/Carmel attractions. Parking a nightmare - a narrow maze between bldgs. May not find a space at night. Office closes at 10 pm. What hotel does that????? NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING!

The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The room had everything you might need for a comfortable stay, including in-room coffee, and there was plenty of parking available. However, the room had a strong smell of pet urine. I had requested a ground-floor room only for convenience to carry my bags, which I believe is where pets are allowed, something I truly appreciate as a pet lover. But no guest should have to deal with such an overwhelming odor.That said, the motel really needs to improve how these rooms are cleaned after pet stays.

Room was very clean. Aesthetics is modern and minimalist which is perfect for our one night stay. Check-in was easy. We were freezing when we arrived but the heater did its job quickly. Only downfall was I Wish I read the reviews about this place being on a busy street. Sirens and loud motorcycles throughout the night. I could hear every single car passing by and we’re not even in a room closest to the street. Walls are fairly thin, I could hear other people’s conversations through the walls when they’re talking loud enough. For the price we paid though, I think it’s a good deal.

The room was really nice! A very good modern look! Room was clean. I would probably ask for extra pillows, but that’s just me. Tv was probably the main reason for it to not have a 5 star. A little small. The remote barely worked, and while streaming it would auto pause almost every 5min or so. Making it a little annoying. Other than that it was a great place to stay! Front staff was incredible, super friendly! I would recommend if needing a place to stay!

Because of the high rating on Expedia I made the mistake of staying at this property. It’s located in a dingy “motel row” on a very busy street. There was noise from the street throughout the night, with occasional very loud motorcycles preventing it from fading into the background. At 5:15am, jets departed from the nearby airport, and at 6am people started to yell in the parking lot as they loaded up their vehicles. A night of little sleep.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and nicely remodeled. It was in a nice area and not far from things...walking distance to places to eat and across the street is a 7-11 for quick snacks and drinks. The front desk lady was nice and informed me of all information needed while staying here. She was able to accommodate me for my pet allergies and place us in a non-pet friendly room even though I was already assigned to a 1st floor pet room. So thankful for that!!! Will definitely stay here again.

2nd time staying here and I doubt l’ll return. As someone who goes to Monterey on a weekly basis, I’ve pretty much stayed at all the hotels with a rating of 8.5 or higher in the area. The front desk guy, while nice, totally deflected my concerns, completely unconcerned about the stress they caused this single traveler who worried about being stranded because someone left a message on my phone saying their front desk “closes at 9 or 10.” Which was it? My ETA was 9:10 and I panicked. I tried calling them (so did a family member not on the trip) while driving down, we called at least 10 times, starting immediately after they left the message, and no one ever picked up. I drove in the dark not knowing if I had a place to stay, trying to keep calling while driving. “It doesn’t matter,” when I told them what happened, “you arrived.” Room was fine, but the bathroom had a stinky drainage smell. I’m glad I didn’t have any other issues once checked in, because I wouldn’t want to deal with them again.

My wife and I arrived at the hotel to check in during the check in window, and there was no one there to assist. No employee and the lobby was locked hours before it was supposed to close. We attempted to call their provided phone number 10 times with no response each time. We were left in the barely lit parking lot without an idea what we were supposed to do. We also weren’t the only ones, a pair of gentlemen were there around the same time as us and were also left stranded. Terrible service and attention to detail on this hotels part. I don’t understand how this hotel is rated anything above one star.

Ideal location in Monterey, close to everything. The manager was super friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond to accommodate us. We left a laptop in the room after checkout, he personally called to tell us it’s safe at the front desk

House keeping kept knocking on the door to access the room at 9AM, 10AM, and 10:30AM, when check out is 11AM. House keeping needs to be aware of the time and not bother people unnecessarily. Also, there isn’t enough parking in the parking lot.

There was no soundproofing. The people above us were very loud and sounded like they were smashing solid articles on their floor. This awakened us around 10-11 pm and continued for five hours, during which we could not possibly sleep. We called the front desk and a very kind woman came to our door and we explained it all. We told her we had no choice but to leave at around 4:30am. We had to drive several more hours to reach our next destination. We were totally exhausted and had to wait until 3:00pm to be able to check into our next destination about 120 miles away. We asked for a refund of our room charge and got no response. The desk clerk did call 911 for us but when the police arrived they had turned out the lights and did not open the door. This was a nightmare from hell!

The property close at 10:00 pm with a notice that you can arrive late as long as you call the front desk emergency number and they will meet you at the office. We called we went and stayed in front of the office waiting for someone to come check us in they never showed us never returned a phone call.

Small Older motel, but clean and relatively quiet. Lots of older motels up and down the street. This is one of the nicer ones. Downtown and the wharf are not within walking distance, but they are only a short drive away.

Nice clean room. The TV remote didn’t work very well (maybe needs batteries). There wasn’t a lot to do right near the hotel. There was a decent restaurant on the property we went to for breakfast). Our main activity while there was to visit Big Sur, which was beautiful.

It all started with the friendliest young man at check in. Service with a smile and very helpful. The rooms are very clean, beds were comfortable and came with refrigerator, microwave and coffee. Grandmas Kitchen is right next door and the food was excellent! We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit.
