Older facility that needed upgrading. No elevator. View in room opened to parking lot which made it unsafe to leave curtains open. Fitness area had six cardio machines that weren't all operable. Television in fitness room not working. Overpriced.

Stayed on second floor. No elevator. It was difficult to drag the suitcases up the stairs.

Ours was an over-night stay which was okay. The room was a nice size. The pillows were hard and the cooling system didn't offer a smooth flow of air. It got stuffy in the middle of the night. My husband was excited about the pool. It opened at 9am on the weekend and was dirty. He opted not to swim. The property was in a great central location.

The staff was amazing - all the staff. The room was clean and well appointed. The shower was very dated, but clean. The pool is heated and very pleasant. Please be aware that jets fly directly overhead, but there is a quiet time approximately 11pm - 5:30am.

Great clean rooms and easy to get to places that are so close to the hotel. Swimming pool very clean and the rooms as well.

It was an average place to stay. Seemed clean enough. Needs quite a few updates. No Continental breakfast at all and the restaurant that is on site is like permanently closed or something. Service was great though. The nice girl in the reception lobby is very sweet and very helpful.

Property is very barebones. Given it is a Travel Lodge its is expected. The cellular connection is poor around the property, and the wifi proved by the property doesnt cover the entire room only the half closest to the lobby. Parking is widely available however can be far from your room if you dont get to the property early.

Heated pool was nice. Quiet area. Just off highway to get around.

Check in was easy. Ricardo was very friendly. The exterior looks a little dirty and outdated but the room looked recently updated with paint and flooring. Beds were made and clean. Bathroom was clean but very dated and old tiled looking shower. Toilet was clean but took a long time for the tank to refill to flush again. The Monterey airport was nearby and the take off for 737 planes were right overhead and very loud. A big negative although it only happened a few times. Del Norte Grill is at the hotel. Good food and convenient. The tuna sandwich was delicious. Overall an ok place for overnight stay.

Room was good. Shower different story, it was older which is ok but….you could see black mold in the cracks of the tile. There is no elevator and then the stairs aren’t exactly convenient.

The walls were paper thin, and the bathroom wasn't well maintained. Lots of rust around the fixture and dirty grout in the shower.

The staff are so nice!! But this place was terrible and it was humid in the rooms. And our room had mold in the fridge and on the bottom of the curtains was mold

The bedding was wet upon arrival. The bathroom was moldy, the room was dirty and smelled like mold. The second floor shower above the room leaked through the ceiling, Soaking our luggage.

It was an older building which was okay. Just kind of for that price I expected more. I would say this room was more like a $80 a night room. If I would have known I would have just booked motel 6. When we booked online it said tub shower combo, we wanted with children. We were expecting the tub. When I go into a place I always look into the bedding underneath the mattress cover for bugs etc. There were lots of hairs, gross, in one bed. But the overall the room was nice safe vibes. Didn't see creepers around and just guests not live ins.When booking online, It didn't look like the buildings were that old. The pool was heated and nice. The kids loved it.lady checking us in was ❤️Show a room for continental breakfast which there was none. I guess if you get to the office by 10:00 you can get a granola bar. Upon arriving late that night we were waiting to check in as there was multiple people checking in. The gal was super nice. I see the coffee pots to the side. I was like great. I'm going to get a cup of coffee. There was no cups anywhere. The machines were not on. God knows how long the coffee was sitting there. I imagine from that morning since that's what they offered in the am ,granola bars and hot coffee. When booking online, I guess it doesn't make a difference for any special requests. So don't waste your time. We were told going through a third party They don't get that information so could not give us first floor rooms as requested no elevators so be prepared .

Super clean, nice staff, clean room.

We opted for a family suite to have a bedroom that we could put the kiddo in to sleep earlier than we would go to bed. There is NO bathtub - only a tiny, moldy shower to wash in. Therefore, it's not a good place to stay if you are traveling with young kids. Also, the floors were FILTHY!

Staff was pleasant. Room and bathroom were very clean. Plenty of free parking.

Shower had mold or mildew growing in it and the noise from airplane flyovers made it hard to sleep.

Okay this place is not good for the amount of money I paid for 4 people for one night, everything is super old like in the 90s I have never been to a hotel/motel like this before. The bed sheets are clean and towels were clean everything else was dirty the bathroom is so old the door lock to the bathroom didn’t work the shower was dirty with mold/dirt inside the handles and super old inside, water doesn't run properly in the sink, the walls were dirty also in the room. I won’t come back to this place again.

The room was older but renovated. The shower had not been updated and the drain was uncovered with just a hole going into the floor.

You don't get what you didn't pay for. Photos show balcony overlooking pool, reality is ground floor looking at cars parked directly in front of the sliding door. Speaking of the sliding door, it took quite the effort to open and close it as it didn't operate smoothly and would sometimes come off the track. The sliding screen door was bent and wouldn't completely close leaving an opening plus there was a large tear in the screen. The only benefit to having a ground floor unit was being able to unload and load everything into the room right through the back, other than that there is no reason anyone would want to sit in the dirty chair placed outside the sliding door. The bathroom is in much need of a makeover, lots of chipped off pices of wood on the base of countertop and lots of other marks on walls and doors. It was not filthy but could have been cleaner. Also planes fly directly over the hotel and are really loud, at least they stop flying during the night but you will know it's morning when they start flying over again. We don't like soft lumpy beds that sag in the middle so the bed was uncomfortable and the headboard wasn't clean either. The only reason we give it three stars is because we figure that's what we get for the price we paid. Also the room smells like a mix of cleaning chemicals and a surprise oder that doesn't go away no matter how long you leave the broken sliding door open.

The location is ideal for visiting the Monterey Aquarium and other tourist locations in the area. The hotel is a bit dated but I prefer these larger rooms with ample parking.

Room was outdated..Old looking, furniture run down,paint and decor is old and didnt match. Bathroom old, smelled like bleach n shower tile back from the 50's. The hotel needs to be ipgraded. THE PRICE IS TO MUCH FOR THIS HOTEL AND ROOM.. Need to be refunded..

Comfortable beds, spacious rooms.

Very cute complex, feels a bit retro. Only downside is that the road on the front of the building is noisy, so I asked for a room at rear of complex. Pool/courtyard very nice.

The room is big and really cold, and the AC didn’t help, we settled as heat to 81F but it still 65F after turn on for an hour. There only summer blankets on the bed. I called the front desk to report AC condition and request blankets. The front desk gave us one winter blanket, (seems it is the last one) and another summer blanket. I have two kids and want more blankets. But the guy told us we only can get two, because we have two beds, even with summer blankets. The front desk person also help us to check AC, and told us it works, and the temperature will raise overtime, but not sure when. And overnight, the RT went to 68F from 65F. Not recommend for any one, especially for winter.

One staff member was very nice, but thats it, just one staff. Manager or whoever the other on-site individual was not accommodating, letting the front staff person with a line of people checking in - then came out when one left in line. Also, manager not accommodating at all, asked for bigger room due to circumstances out of our control, and no compassion for our situation.

Courteous staff. I reported some loud people in the parking lot after midnight. Staff handled the issue right away, and within 10 minutes all was quiet again

The person at the front desk was rude, inconsiderate, and didn’t care to assist me in anyway. He wanted an extremely higher than usual cash deposit at 1:45 AM which meant I had to go shopping around for an ATM in the city that was unfamiliar to me after working all day and being extremely tired and was unwilling to provide me any alternatives or solutions. When I explained to him that I was tired and just wanted my room and if I was involved in an accident that he would be liable he simply stated if you’re in a condition that’s not allowing you to safely operate a vehicle don’t blame that on me. I didn’t plan on working all day and then meeting with resistance with the hotel that I had made reservations with prior to working that day. I do not recommend this property to anybody. It’s in poor side of town and with stuff I don’t care one bit about anything about the money. I did not end up staying at the hotel and disputing the transaction with my bank.

Staff was very friendly and helpful also polite.

Front desk was above and beyond

We’ve stayed at this location a few times and have every benefit to come back. Location is great outside besides the occasional airplane landing you hear. Staff is respectful and friendly and will accommodate for any needs.

I have an amazing time with my family here. The rooms and courtyard were well-kept. Water pressure was good. No critters. Clean sheets and towels. Erika, the General Manager, is super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. She reminded us of lobby hours (24/7) to whatever needs we had. We will definitely be staying here the next time we are in Monterey.

Great value for the cost of the room. Short drive to downtown Monterrey and all attractions. Room was very clean. No complaints and would stay again.

It’s a nice and convenient location from the freeway. A little noisy but the traffic was less at night.

Nice clean hotel. Near the airport which was perfect for this trip. It’s also located with easy access to Highway 1 which is great!

Nice room, nice area. Very low budget breakfast.. more like a snack. But that silly gouge, $100, for incidentals. Then i did precheck, and still had to check in normally.

Ricardo was excellent when we signed in. The room was ready, clean and met expectations for a place to sleep, clean up and just relax. Having the Del Monte Bar and Grill right there was an added place for on site dining

It was easy to get to where we wanted to go. Staff was great and the cafe had pretty good food.

When I booked this property online, I paid $35 per night extra for the included breakfast. Upon arrival the desk clerk said they have not served breakfast in well over a year. I did not get a refund from the hotel or from Expedia. The ad still stands online! False advertising!

The supposed free breakfast is just coffee and oatmeal bags.
