Overall hotel is great with great helpful staff especially the bartender and great location we walked to downtown to Alvarado and had great options to eat. Walked down more and hit the fisherman wharf. Room was nice and clean. The only thing is the pool was not heated and breakfast was honestly mid. But still better than going out and buying breakfast somewhere else.

Staff is AMAZING. I felt super welcome and attended to the entire time. Welcome glass of wine *sweet*. Everything updated and cozy without feeling small or confined. Easy to find your way around. Easy parking and loading zone. Heated pool is the perfect temp to still enjoy swimming for hours while the jacuzzi was extra bubbly, extra heated and felt so good. Hotel was apparently sold out this weekend but the quietness and beauty were not affected. I couldn’t even tell they were sold out. Pool was not crowded, towels provided and plenty of seating. Breakfast? Oh my gosh. Compliments to the chef. Scrambled eggs, French toast, seasoned potatoes and breakfast burrito offered and so yummy. Better than Dennys I promise. Three cereals, oatmeal, overnight oats (YUM! Even if you’re not looking for healthy it was so good), bagels, toast variety and yogurts. Fresh apples, oranges and bananas. Cream cheese, jams, butter and honey to top it all off. Apple, orange and cranberry juices offered along with coffee, tea and hot cocoa. One of the best stays

My boyfriend and I stayed at here for a weekend getaway and were very impressed with the hotel. The room, staff, and breakfast were all amazing! One thing that was really unfortunate was that the hot tub was not working during our stay, which we were not notified about. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again.

It is a bit inconvenient to carry luggage up two flights of stairs in building 3. The room did not seem like it was cleaned recently. The toilet needs a good scrub. There were dirty marks on the walls by the window. The vent in the bathroom makes loud weird noises. Someone’s hair was left in the bathtub. This did not feel like a resort fee should be charged.

So amazing find. Great rooms, great breakfast with eggs, burritos, pancakes, potato’s, bagels, cereal, yogurt etc etc The pool and hot tub was clean and warm even in January.

Great stay overall, especially compared to the other place we stayed. It’s beautiful, just that when we got into our room there was a strange smell, there were black hairs on both the top bed spreads, we ran the air all night and it was cooler in the hallway than in our room in the morning. Breakfast came with the price which was nice. The Hotel was centrally located to many amenities which was another bonus.

The staff was great! One of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at in the area. Good location if you are visiting multiple locations in Monterey. The internet service was slow and the tv/cable service had some issues. The pillows were were lumpy and uncomfortable. All that being said, great experience and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who'd ask.

Our room was spacious, clean, the bed was very comfortable, the fireplace was delightful and the bar, though small, was very welcoming. We have no complaints.

The hotel staff was great--specifically Ernie at the bar. The hotel was quiet, but I felt it could use with additional cleaning and updating. The mini-split AC had a stale smell in the air and there were some cobwebs in the outdoor halls.

Sheets had holes. Poop covered toilet paper was left in the toilet. The sink was clogged I mentioned this to the front desk and all they said oh sorry did not try to make it right in anyway very sad how bad employees can ruin such a beautiful hotel and business very very sad

There was no hand soap and no bath soap in the room. Luckily we always travel with our own. Second the AC in the room is useless. It's pointed directly in front of the bathroom and doesn't actually cool down the room, so it ended up turning into a warm night.

The hotel was absolutely lovely! We loved the cozy fireplace in our room, and the $20 package with wine and a hot breakfast was a great deal. The only downside was the thin walls, which meant we could hear a late check-in upstairs in the middle of the night. I'd suggest requesting a room on the second floor to avoid similar disturbances.

Very nice staff and rooms where clean. Queen beds are on the small size. I am a big guy (6’4”) beds where soft but bring your own pillows, there’s are crap. The breakfast is basic but good. The only problem was how thin the walls are. We where two floors above a main entry door for one of the buildings and the door slamming could be heard and felt in are room.

Easy check in, easy to get to, good parking. Room was clean and good size, bathroom was nice, clean, and good size as well. My only complaint was that we could hear the room above us walking around. Floors were creaking loudly and we could hear every movement. It was frustrating a bit, but once they stopped moving, it was fine. Other than that, good hotel and would stay there again.

It’s a nice well maintained hotel, the only one thing we did not like was how thin the wall are between the rooms we could hear the guess right next us snoring the whole night but either then that everything else was great. The front desk people need to be a little more hospitable when I arrived they were in their cellular phone and also when checking out.

Check-in was 50 minutes later than promised. Toilet flush lever requires manual intervention to return to flush position, shampoo bottle missing pump, bath soap bottle was completely empty (don't know how these were missed by the cleaning crew). Other things that are quite annoying and worth mentioning: A/C unit installed right next to bed, and blows directly onto the bed! Bathroom sink is "exactly" 1.5 inches deep. Additional sink outside the bathroom is conical-shaped, deepest point at the drain is 4 inches, gets shallower towards the edge. Personally, I'd fire the interior designer.

We loved our stay for the Big Sur marathon, convenient location for the events and easy walking to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Great breakfast and happy hour service. Friendly helpful staff. Slight delay when our safe needed a battery but overall a great stay!

Omg these guys saved me!!! I made reservations for car week at another property a year prior and showed up Hotel Abrego on one of the busiest weeks of the year at 11pm at night. The night manager took such great care of me and my guests I will be forever grateful!!! He even offered a glass of wine! I will stay here every year now!

We love the Hotel Abrego we have stayed at this location many times. However we had a room that shared a wall with the elevator, it was the only down side of our trip. The service, breakfast and housekeeping was amazing as always.

AC in our room didnt work, nither did the phone. Took 3 trips to the front desk to get someone to the room to do nothing. Had to leave at 9pm and drive 3 hours home without an offer of another room or discount. Was scolded for front desk sending maintenance to 3 different room, despite my being very clear about my room number and name on reservation. Some of the worst customer service ever.

The staff was tremendous in every way, they operated from an ownership and were very capable, we received a congratulations on celebration our wedding anniversary, my wife was excited and very happy with our room and the facility as a whole, we used the restaurant, the spa, and enjoyed the wine at 5 p.m.

Cannot say enough good things about the entire staff! So nice and very accommodating — and, always available. Hot breakfast in mornings, free glass of wine in evenings only make EVERYONE happier! (Even fellow guests were nice!) Also loved the private patio — it made all the difference in our stay!! Would return in a heartbeat!

The hotel was a little too far to walk from Cannery Row despite other reviews saying it was close. Breakfast was satisfactory. The bedding (mattress and pillows) were cheap and uncomfortable. Our room was a corner which faced 2 roads. Relatively quiet at night but DEFINITELY noisy traffic most of the time due to being near a busy intersection. Although clean there are probably better places to stay in Monterey.

Beautiful hotel, great staff, excellent breakfast (Except the pancakes- sort of hard and tasteless, but there are tons of other delicious options.) Breakfast was not the usual cheap carbs, but an excellent assortment of different choices. Room was beautifully appointed and very clean. As a former maid, I can appreciate the hard work and tipped appropriately.

Warm, welcoming people. Quiet, pleasant room. We would definitely stay there again. The only negative was the breakfast. The breakfast room was chaotic. They ran out of most items long before breakfast time was over and no one seemed to check on or replenish the food. For such an otherwise well -run hotel, the breakfast situation was surprising.
