Other than a few snags this would be a 5 star review. AC in room didn’t work, kids jacuzzi was broken, and there were no towels stocked at the pool Sunday morning until about 10am. Beautiful quiet place with great views. Restaurant was top notch.

It’s a good place, with a few. Rough edges. I realized too late that I never got my welcome bottle of wine. I also hiked all the way down to the lobby for complimentary coffee, but there seemed to be none one of the days. Other than that, the rooms are nice. The pool, pool bar, fire pits and movies by the pool are fun. There are quite a few hikable trails and wildlife around.

Beautiful resort. The spa is fantastic,the view restaurant was delicious for both breakfast and dinner. Great marked trails for walks in the woods. Parking was full, all the time. Our room was a little dark, would be nice if the bathroom had better lighting.

Nice, clean property away from town. Dog friendly with a nice restaurant, walking trails, pool, and gym. Free electric car chargers. This will be a regular stop for us when we travel through this area.

Would’ve preferred to know that they were working on a pool creating a lot of noise. The outside of this property does not look clean and up-to-date. The hot tub in the spa was dirty and did not work. The inside of the locker rooms in the spa were disheveled and disturbing. The massage was amazing! The fitness gym was great and the surrounding areas would have been quiet otherwise.

Check in was smooth and simple. Very large property, but needs to be upgraded. Carpet was old and stained. Room smelled of walking into a senior facility. The windows and screens were old. Walls had peeling paint and many cracks. Bed was made nice but nothing was dusted. Clocks and counters and tables I had to clean myself. Lost power for 4 hours the morning of checkout from 6:45am-10:15am and no one acknowledged that during check out. The rooms are much darker when the window is open than what is shown online. Overall it want the worst stay, but I’ve had much much better.

We loved our stay at the Chaminade! The kids especially didn’t want to leave and wanted to return on our next trip to CA. The property is close to town but also provides a beautiful oasis in the hills. The pools were lovely and heated and the jacuzzis were large and clean. The fire pits in the pool area were a great idea for warming up after getting out of the warm pool and getting used to the cool mountain air. The room was a nice size and the beds were comfortable. It is nice to have a sofa bed. It wasn’t very comfortable but that was our only complaint. It was helpful to have a refrigerator in the room and the coffee maker was great! We look forward to staying with you again soon!

The property was in a nice area. The lobby area was nice. But that’s where the nice stopped. The room was well worn, bathroom ceiling was peeling, and carpets were not too clean. The pool area ran out of pool towels by 11am and there were no more than 20-30 people at the pool. The room we stayed in had a glass “wall/window” that faced the interior hallway. There should be some kind of shutters, or window covering to block the light from the hallway. It was very difficult to sleep with the room lit up all night.

Had a horrible experience here. We had a very bad spa experience, they charged us way more than promised at time of booking. The customer service at the spa is also very rude and unhelpful. Also, the rooms are slightly old and smell.

Long wait to check in. Room was not very clean and seemed old. Room was also Very noisy- sounded like AC compressor right above our heads and went off every few minutes. You could hear rooms around us running their water. Would not recommend to anyone.

The hotel was in a beautiful location but there were some small problems. We stayed in a room not in the main building and our TV was lagging all the time. The room was clean but a little outdated. We thought we were getting a garden view balcony but ended up with the patio facing the parking lot. You could also hear everything with your neighbors! Everything was also super overpriced. We inquired about their s’mores and fire pit they offer and it was 100 dollars! I would say it’s a nice hotel location but be ready to spend some money and be let down by the rooms.

While the hotel facilities are attractive, the rooms are dated and poorly equipped. And the $40 "resort fee" per night is ridiculous! If you reserve the King Suite Forest View (as I did) and want a patio, be sure to reserve the ground floor. The second floor suites have no balcony or patio.

Needs an update to get to 1990 standards. AC was so loud it shook the building floor. Rooms need better lighting and seem dark. Bar served high-end wine measured with a cocktail measuring cup… staff seems tired except for one of the maint men who was so kind and helpful and got me some coffee in the early morning.

Though the property was beautiful, the room was far below average. The room was tiny and there was absolutely nothing special about it. It’s not worth the price. I’ve traveled pretty extensively and understand that room size isn’t everything, but this room was so incredibly disappointing. It made me want to do anything other than be in the room. If you’re traveling with your family and want something to do with the kids, I’d recommend the property. The pool is nice, the fire pits are lovely; but if you’re traveling as a couple, find something else.

We waited nearly 2 hours after check in time for the room to be ready. Sure it was a holiday weekend, but we couldn't help feeling discriminated against when other people got their room before us even though we had been waiting in the lobby longer. I also saw another family get offered a restaurant credit when their room was not ready, however we were not offered anything.

The place itself is nice and peaceful. Had some issues while there though. Checked in and only one key worked. It was our anniversary so I paid 30 dollars for chocolate covered strawberries to be in the room which they never put in there. I waited until the last day to see if they were coming later but they never did and I had to go to the front desk and ask them to take it off the bill. That was very disappointing. Some of the staff were awesome but others weren’t so great. I thought it was a quiet place for the most part but there were kids running up and down the halls and making a bunch of noise. The trails were nice but we were concerned with the poison oak. I would maybe consider staying here again. Maybe we just had bad luck.

Room was great. Restaurant was slow (it was busy, but people that were sat after us got their food before us and my food was cold - like it had sat for a while before it was brought out). Also, we ordered drinks - ONLY SHOTS- and it took about 15 minutes for them to arrive. Also asked for coffee in the morning and it never arrived. Also-snacks for sale at the gym should be healthier (seriously-chips?)

They have the best staff! Very nice people, very accommodating, they treat us well! THE View restaurant’s staff are amazing! They gave us complimentary chocolate cake! The front desk of Chaminade hotel is very hospitable. Will come back here with my family.

First room I was placed in, the ac was rattling. Took two calls to get someone to check the ac out. Second room, we had a service tech come out to update the tv while taking a nap. A suggestion for this would be to update the tvs during cleaning and for front desk to inform guests upon check-in.

The entire experience from the moment we pulled up was incredible. The Front Desk was incredibly helpful and very kind. They made it very easy to check in and we’re very accommodating with an early arrival. But I must say that Jacob, the valet extraordinaire, was probably our best individual experience that we could have asked for. He was smart, very respectful, knowledgeable, and was quick with everything. He was able to care more about our experience and you can tell how genuine he was with his smile and positive attitude. He’s an exceptional human being, and it needed to be singled out.

They were two hours late in being able to check us in, the staff was sweet about it but when you are charged a price for the amenities and cannot use them because you cannot check in it's frustrating. When we finally made it to the pool at around 7:30 the bar was closing, the entertainment was done, and there were used towels and garbage everywhere on the pool deck. The staff out at the pool didn't seem to care that we couldn't get there earlier, it was just ok. Not impressed.

Love coming here Dining options are limited to one restaurant and we went during restaurant week so had very limited menu for our stay - plus some challenges with getting seating without reservations. We really love the hotel. It had everything we needed. The Charging Stations was a major plus. The pools where heated and the Jacuzzi was hot. My only complaint..... the Restaurant was a major disappointment. The staff were nonexistent and the food took almost 45min to come out. Staff never came back to refill our drinks had to track down other waiters or go to the bar. That's a big turn off for me. I wanted to leave a $5 tip and a note! And I'm a great tipper.

Staff was great. Food was very good! But our guest room felt a bit run down. But the public areas were lovely, and I could see returning with our family to enjoy the pools. The view from the restaurant was spectacular and my husband and I really enjoyed the sunset.

The grounds were beautiful. We were able to check in our room right away. I was a VIP so I received a free bottle of wine. That was ready right at check-in. However, I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t given an option of red or white wine. I’m not a red wine drinker and they only had red wine. So it was a waste. We ate at The View restaurant and the service was a damper. It took about 30 minutes for someone to take our order after I had to speak with someone. They blamed it on a communication error. On the other hand, the food and the views were good. The room was nice and spacious and gave a lot of pillows which I liked. The swimming area was nice and clean. Great location to the boardwalk. Overall me and my family loved it and will be back.

It is a beautiful location surrounded by trees and overlooking the valley out to the ocean. We loved the food at the restaurant - delicious and fresh ingredients! The staff are friendly and helpful.
