Clean and lovely. Hotel is a historic charm. Do not expect corporate hotel, this is VERY old but delightful. There is no sound proofing, no even floors etc. If you are dull and complain about minor traffic noise etc, do not even bother staying here. This is a place for people who love history and appreciate the engineering of yesteryear. Staff were helpful.

Parking is a bit of a squeeze but we did get a space although there is ample, easier parking at the library close by. We didn’t stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that. Initial receptionist (Easter Sunday) was okay but the receptionist on Easter Monday was friendly, informative and quite lovely which Sunday reception could maybe take a leaf from. Room was so airy, quiet and big so it was a shame to not have twin beds for our teens (who are big) and had to share a small sofa bed, in comparison mine and my husband’s bed was comfortable and big, very nice but felt a bit guilty. Luckily there was a little window area so my youngest son took over that area, pulling the net curtain to while my older son sat on the bed. Hotel exterior is so stunning and location is absolutely fabulous. I will return.

We arrived by bus and were able to leave our case with Reception until the booking in time. The people we dealt with were very quick to deal with our requests, such as exchanging the sparkling water in the room for still water, and replenishing the fridge on the second day.

We had a really enjoyable stay at The Feathers Inn in Ludlow. Our bedroom was spacious and spotlessly clean, which made for a very comfortable visit. The hotel is ideally located right in the centre of Ludlow, making it perfect for exploring the town. A big plus was the car park at the back of the hotel — it’s quite spacious, and we were pleasantly surprised to still find available spaces even though we arrived after midnight. The late check-in option is a real advantage and made our arrival stress-free. The staff were very welcoming, especially Kate, who was extremely helpful when we arrived. The only thing to be aware of is the pricing for dogs. The rate advertised on Hotels.com (£10 per stay) didn’t match what we were charged, which was £20 per night per dog. This is quite a significant difference and something that might have influenced our decision had we known in advance (as we have two dogs). The charge for the car park was £15. Overall, a very positive experience and a great place to stay in Ludlow — just worth double-checking pet charges beforehand.
