On the whole was the hotel was fine and met my expectations of the Crown Plaza brand, however the shower in the room didn't run warm and the swimming pool was showing signs of a need of redecoration was surprising for an international hotel chain.

We booked this as the website and Hotels.com both said there was a gym/pool however it wasn’t till we called Reception to ask about the gym we were told it was closed for refurbishment. No mention of it when we checked in and no mention of it on any website we’ve checked. If we have known the gym was out of action, we have booked somewhere else.

Fantastic stay Great service, we received a complimentary upgrade too. The only downside, which is temporary, was that the spa was not available for use as it is being refurbished. I can't fault the experience!

We stayed here as a base whilst visiting Legoland (around a 20/25 min drive) Quick check in with really lovely helpful staff on reception. The kids wanted to use the leisure facilities on arrival and with restricted kids swimming times we headed to the pool. No complaints, just a pity you can’t use the facilities once you’ve checked out. We’ve not experienced this before at other hotels. We had a spacious room with 2 double beds and the usual complimentary tea, coffee etc. It also had a mini refrigerator. A nice modern space and very clean. The dining room and bar area where also very modern and the outdoor conservatory style dining area was also very pleasant with a view of the Thames and grass/play area. We dined in the bar area which we found to be overpriced and lacking in atmosphere. I think most people head in to Marlow but we’d had a long drive and hungry kids. The food was ok. Breakfast was self service with a varied collection of continental & full English all freshly prepared. We returned to the hotel on our second day to find it in total darkness after an intermittent power cut. We had to ask other guests what the issue was and managed to navigate to the room which had no running water facilities as well as total darkness. Not ideal with 2 kids! We chose to stay in the reception area and the power came on just after 11pm so a disappointing second day.

Crowne Plaza on New Year day is quiet and enjoyable. There is space for kids to roam around. The dining option was good, a bit expensive for what they said was freshly cooked food but didnt taste like it. The service at reception and restaurant and bar was brilliant. Not happy with the booking system introduced recently for kids to swim, each slot lasting for 45 mins. Swimming pool is v clean with sauna and steam room next to it. The grounds are small but got a decent playground. Would definitely come back again.

Room was very clean and spacious, hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and amenities were great! The town was only a 4-6 minute drive and there was plenty to see and do. Parking on site was easy, it was one of the best hotels we have stayed at in awhile; would definitely recommend for couples!

Totally enjoyed our stay, Check in 5* Room comfort 5* Room cleanliness 5* Facilities 4* pool and spa was great but rather busy. The fact that you could NOT use the pool, hot tub, sauna or steam room on your check out day was not good. We would have loved to be able have a last swim etc, but we were not allowed.

A very good comfortable hotel on the edge of Marlow - rooms are very clean & spacious. Beds are very comfortable & excellent bathroom. We had a bar meal which was very good & reasonably priced & self service breakfast the next morning was excellent - plenty of choices we will definitely stay there again . My husband used the swimming pool which he said was very good too

We stayed for 2 nights and it was lovely. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our little one. Dinesh and Karim especially stood out through our interactions and from little things like holding the door open while we entered to assisting us to use the kitchen microwave and freezer, no request was too big and was always met with a smile. The breakfast spread was lovely. As someone who prefers alternatives to an English breakfast, the omelette made to order was a welcome change. The rooms were clean and the bathroom spotless. Huge win in my book.

Awful experience. Children running around the corridors late at night, no one on reception answering the phone, someone in the next room had to shout at the kids running around at 11.30pm to go to bed. Rooms are NOT soundproofed, even people walking passed the room felt like the door was open, and I could hear the conversation of the couple in the next room, and they weren't talking loudly. Overall, a very poor experience of what should be a good brand of hotel. Definitely won't stay here again

Carpet had orange stain on it. Offered a club room upgrade, It had 2 smaller orange stains. Fire Alarm sounded, lucky a false alarm. Turnstile doors broke down, no hot water for a morning, mattress soft and lumpy Reception showed sympathy over promised on what they could assist with, basically best thing was leaving and heading home.

A lovely hotel, executive room was perfect. Very modern and a stunning bar / restaurant area. The spa needs refurbished and isn’t very clean. A great pool though. Very friendly staff. I would stay again.

I stay in Crown Plaza often in various location and this time round I felt let down with the standards at Marlow. It was more like a 1* star hotel mainly around the cleanliness especially in the spa area and the rooms were not at expected levels for a crown plaza hotel.

My wife and I stayed here a few nights ago and rented a suite - it was a beautiful and spacious room with loads of seating areas. The bed was extremely comfortable with 2 different pillow options, and the blackout blinds are super effective. Even during the daytime, with them closed, it is pitch black in the room so daytime naps are an option. The bathroom is spacious as well, with both a shower and a bathtub, and generous quantities of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc. Every part of the room was super clean. My only complaint is the breakfast - unfortunately it fell short of what we were hoping for. The croissants were stale and the scrambled eggs my wife ordered she had 2 bites of and couldn't eat any more. With that being said though, the room service we had ordered in the evening the night before was excellent, and we ate every bite of it.

Chosen purely as close to the start of a sponsored walk and leisure facilities. Leisure facilities are tired so we were disappointed with this. Breakfast was pretty average. Rooms are lovely and beds comfortable but external factors prevented us from a good nights sleep / ie noisy guests at a wedding , children running and shouting and slamming doors

Nice hotel, functional & spacious, room was nice & big & very clean. The receptionist insisted we swipe a card for expenses, we explained we had dinner & breakfast plans & would pay as we go. But were told company policy. A day later, after check out & no expenses, I’ve not had the £75 refunded. Also v poor dinner recommendation of a chain restaurant. Marlow is a high end independent foodie town…

Stay cancelled by hotel even though booked and paid for weeks in advance. Went for a family barbecue and travelled from Norfolk. Arrived late. Headed straight to barbecue Hotel called to confirm I was checking in and I said yes and I would be there within an hour or so. I turned up at hotel to find they had given my paid for room to someone else and they offered to take me to another hotel in High Wycombe I refused and ended up sleeping on a sofa at family’s house. Absolutely disgusting situation to be in. .

Over all this is a nice hotel. Unfortunately they seem to lack training with some staff members. Some of the reception staff aren’t very helpful with things go wrong. The reception on the pool quite rude at times Specially regarding towels. I think training in staff is a huge issue for a lot of companies, but I’d certainly invest in training their staff more on how to deal with people. It’s a bit hit and miss because there are some good ones.

Advertise 24hrs room dine in options. Twice I was refused room service, once just after 9.30pm and once when I tried to get my breakfast as room service, asked if it could be refunded and told it couldn't as it had been charged. Yet when I checked out they had to authorise my card for the breakfast payment. Also had a group at 1.30pm singing the entire Oasis backcatalogue in the corridors.

This has to be thee nicest check in experience EVER!!! Karim was lovely and super friendly!! Infact each and every staff were lovely- all professional, and friendly! Will definitely be back! The restaurant was also superb, and breakfast had great scrambled egg!!😉

The staff upon check-in were great, however, the spa staff were extremely rude and clearly didn't want to be there. We had dinner in the bar but got told the pizza wasn't fresh and was only a frozen pizza which they were charging £18 for, ridiculous! Won't be going back.

The staff went above & beyond to make sure my oxygen supply was put into the room as soon as we arrived. Provided a room within easy walking distance to facilities & allowed us to check in 3 hours early. There was 9 in our group & the restaurant was happy to move tables around so we could sit together. A lovely stay! Well done Crowne Plaza Marlow!

Fourth time visiting and love it. The hotel is well situated - 25 min walk to the town centre. The hotel service and facilities are great too. We visit as a family of four and the staff are welcoming.

Location not great i.e a long walk to town centre and nothing of interest around the hotel. Breakfast quite good. Bed comfortable. Room & bathroom vety clean. Staff nice & helpful. Thete are no Club room facilities here anymore which was disappointing.

Hotel in lovely location by the Thames. Car parking easy and included in the price. Reception busy but moved quickly. It would have been good to be informed about facilities and where breakfast was however the hotel was signed well for restaurant. Bed comfortable. Room had bath and separates shower that was great. Tea/Coffee making facilities available. Could do with iron in room.

A nice hotel - recommended. The general location is convenient for the Chilterns and an easy 7 minute drive into Marlow. You get to the hotel by driving through an industrial estate and turn left at the 'no fly tipping' sign to get to the car park. Externally, the hotel grounds could do with a refresh (broken fountain, cracked paving, etc.). However, internally, the hotel was clean and well maintained. The bar and other public areas looked fresh and seemed to have been recently refurbished. The room was also recently refurbished and the daily cleaning was to a good standard. It was comfortable, quiet and we slept well. We stayed over a bank holiday weekend, so breakfast was very busy, but it the buffet was well stocked and kept tidy.

The hotel was overrun with wedding guests all weekend, hotel guests were secondary to hotel guests and the bar closed too early. Breakfast was a disaster with no cups, cutlery and all the coffee machines were out of order.

Very decent Crowne Plaza with beautiful views of the water from the bar/restaurant area. Plenty of parking too. The only point for improvement was breakfast. The food was very good but only basic coffee and fruit juices didn’t seem fresh to me. That can be easily improved if they wanted to.

Great reception and check in. Clean room, everything worked. Bar area was a little slow to be cleared away with a lot of tables with glasses, plates on them. Breakfast was usual buffet. Coffee machines were out of order and the the coffee in flasks wasn’t great. Pool area and changing rooms all clean and well maintained.

Lovely clean room. Breakfast was one on the best I had in ages, good quality and a very good variety.. staff couldn’t do enough for you.. Only criticism.. for women with long hair, when you go swimming you are only allowed one towel.. making harder to dry your hair..
