It was ok, but for the week our team was there, they had no hot water in the showers. This was reported and still no hot water. Our company Van had been broken into, and apparently it’s a hot spot for vans. Another set of vans broken into a couple of weeks ago.

The room was clean and comfortable albeit the walls are a wee bit thin. The bar and restaurant area are well maintained and cosy and the food and drink was very nice and not too expensive, breakfast was also enjoyable. The only downside was getting charged for parking which wasn't pre-advertised.

A very convenient hotel for any NEC visit (just 15 mins up the road, and you miss the major road traffic queues). The room was quite spacious, cosy warm on a snowy night and had a recently refurbished bathroom (shower, no bath). The bar is a lively, and filled with locals coming in after work. Book a table at the restaurant if the hotel is full. Would have got a full star review if some of the public area decor did not look so tired - but nothing which actually impacted our stay.

There was ample on site parking. The evening meals in the restaurant were very good although there was a considerable delay in service, probably from being short staffed. However, staff in restaurant were pleasant.Breakfasts were not so good especially if you ate late when the food had gone past its best.

The room was do bad we ended up moving to another hotel. Om arrival the room was freezing and smelled of sewage. It was very dated and didnt look clean, carpet was stained with a build up of dust around the edges. The walls were grubby and has lits of marks on. The sheet on the bed was stained, tbere was no mattress protectors on the mattress. One of the towels had a scab on it which was the final straw! The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful though, they offered a refund which should arrive after head office have been informed

Stayed here a number of times over the last couple of years but this year it really has gone downhill. Firstly they insist on taking your bank card from you and take a picture of the details before returning it. If you refuse they don’t let you stay. Secondly the room cleanliness has deteriorated. This first room I was giving someone had left present in the toilet (still there after 2 flushes). The second room looked a lot cleaner with hot chocolate and biscuits. Nice touch. I went to the bar and had one drink then back to my room for a hot chocolate. The cup was dirty. The receptionist was lovely and very apologetic stating that the toilet was down to a backflow problem (on the first floor?). The dirty cup was down to the housekeepers time in each room reduced? If the cleanliness of the room is this bad what is the kitchen like I wonder Lastly the WiFi is poor. Used to be ok

Nice buildings, excellent friendly staff, very good food for evening meal and the room was good untill you went into the bathroom which had mould on the silicone, a cracked toilet pan and a smashed shower surround. A shame about this as the rest of the break was spot on. Thank you.

Convenient location with easy access to the NEC. Staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was nice and good value for money breakfast. Unfortunately the room was disappointingly dirty.

Strawberry Bank was fine. The bed was comfortable the room was adequate and reception was friendly. Downside, no tv, weak WiFi (it would be difficult to work on-line) and the bath panel was hanging off. I did report it on my way out. It did the job.

Check in was ok but a bit slow. Room was tired, shower door broken, no hairdryer in room and no phone in room to check with reception to see if I could borrow a hairdryer. But oh the bed was absolutely shocking. Bedding looked clean, pillows were flat and thin but omg the mattress was just so bad. Rock hard on the edges yet it gave no support in the middle. It was one of the worse beds we have ever slept on

Nice staff , couple issues with room . Zero degrees outside , walking into the room couldn’t have been much warmer . Old style electric radiator that was slow to warm the room and an old fashioned loudly ticking manual timer fitted to it . So essentially the choice became sleep or put up with the cold . Groundfloor rooms suffer with paper thin walls and more importantly , ceilings . Rooms could also do with curtains , feels quite and bleak cold in terms of decor . Positives , comfy bed , good shower , decent wifi , good size TV . Food was good in the pub too .

On arrival quite late at night, met a grumpy receptionist who made us feel quite unwelcome, got into the cold room no heating, turned on the heating. It was just making ticking noises! Found paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling. Bed was uncomfortable! Not a great stay, glad that we were only there for a night!

I liked the shower. Room was a bit dingy and lacking in atmosphere. TV was not working (Room 125). I went to reception who changed the batteries in the remote but the TV still did not work. The ground floor room looked out over the car park but there were no nets so I had to keep the blind down until I was dressed. Mattress was not the most comfortable although it was OK.

We arrived at the strawberry bank on the night of the 5th December. We were catching a plane from the airport the following day. We booked in by the most delightful staff members, both of in good humour, friendly, a lovely welcome. We went to the restaurant and the young lady there was very professional and charming. A good host. The meal was very enjoyable. We needed to be up for the opening of the restaurant to have breakfast the following morning as we had a plane to catch Our room was standard but comfortable clean and everything was there that was needed. However, by surprise, on getting up we found there was no lighting in the bathroom. We managed; (being conscious these things happen in the best of places). On going downstairs there was a woman and a man sitting behind reception. No 'good morning how can I help you?' or anything of the sort from either of them. I told her about it She looked at me with incredulity said that she can't see that this could happen and asked me if I had tried the right switches. The attitude was such that it was sour faced and she was treating me like an idiot as if it was my fault.. No apology no salutation or respect for a customer. There is far more than this and I would like to be contacted. I could not get it all on here.

The walls in my room were so thin, I could hear my room neighbour snore... all night... so take your earplugs! The waiting to check in was extensive. We have stayed for at least 10 years now and I feel this may have been the last time. Extra charges for car parking .... really..??

But of a dump, very uncomfortable bed, unclean bathroom with the glass shower door hanging by a thread. Nobody on reception to help with issues. Breakfast in the morning is very limited if you don’t eat meat but you still get charged £12.95 even though half of the menu isn’t available to you. Very poor Hotel with clueless staff that wonder around with no direction at all. The only decent member of staff was the woman behind the bar in the evening. I would t go there again if they paid me.

This is a great location for the NEC, which was a 4 mile drive only. Very friendly staff, particularly the lady serving breakfast during our stay 5th and 6th September 25. She was really nice, friendly, chatty and helpful. We will definitely stay here again

It's bigger than expected. The views are incredible, lovely surroundings, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms with en-suite, close to the airport, co-op and other amenities within walking distance. The building is older so you can hear the odd creak of the floorboards above. The car park is gated so secure.

The property is getting a little bit tired now, however, it's relatively cheap to stay and very convenient for the NEC. Food is good and staff very helpful with easy to follow procedures. Countryside and views are amazing, considering it's on a main road. Bathrooms could also do with a bit of an upgrade, but overall, good place to stay.

This is a great location for the NEC, which was a 4 mile drive only. Very friendly staff, particularly the lady serving breakfast during our stay 5th and 6th September 25. She was really nice, friendly, chatty and helpful. We will definitely stay here again

After a 6 hour drive was told restaurant was closing at 7-45 on a Sunday night Next morning chef didn’t come in so there was no breakfast , apart from 2 cereal choice and toast

We had a good 2 night stay for our trip to Crufts at the Nec. Room was basic but pleasant everything clean and presented well. Found the pub food expensive and mediocre breakfast was full English with cereal and pastries and was good. All round a good stay some of the decor is tired and could do with some TLC but other than this very pleasant.

Unfortunately, we didn't have the best stay here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating however, there was multiple stains, marks and hairs left in the shower and bathroom as well as the bedroom. The pillows were extremely thin which prevented comfort through the night. The walls are so thin we could hear general conversations from the room next to us including snoring all through the night which again affected our sleep. The food was also a disappointment. We had to send it back after being sick following a few mouthfuls. The staff were understanding and agreed the taste wasn't up to standard. Breakfast and parking wasn't worth the extra money. We were told on the day they would have matched Expedia prices and gave us free parking. This is not advertised on their website and too late once arrived. The building was a good size and had both bar and restaurant area.
