The Redesdale

The hotel is in a great location in a lovely old building. I would describe the carpeting in the lobby and the bedrooms as shabby. The hotel was experiencing a problem with the Plumbing while we were there so that there was no water. The situation was fixed by the time we left. The restaurant and bar are fine if you are a dog lover. There were lots of dogs, especially in the bar. The hotel has potential but needs some TLC.

Lovely 17th Century Coaching Inn, real fire, great food, all staff very welcoming.

Check n was fast and efficient, benefits from. It’s own parking which was a must for the area. Room was a good size and a nice touch was the free Water and 1/2 Carafe of local Sherry and a good selection of Teas and Coffees. We ate in the Restaurant in the evening and the choice was good and was well presented and tasty. The included Breakfast benefited from a buffet selection and the Hot Breakfast was to order and had a good choice available. Overall very pleasant and enjoyable experience and we would certainly stay again when in the area

Managed to park in the hotel car park which was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Prompt service in bar. Menu a bit limited and said there was a bar menu but this wasnt advertised inside. Beeakfast menu not as good as last year and sausages weren't nice so must have changed since last year

Really liked the location and staff (Georgia, "Dan"). The room was in the older part of the hotel. Recently updated but still had the old building settling. Ok for us but this may matter to other travelers so specify which part of the hotel you want. Convenient for train and bus lines. We did all our excursions using either. We ate in the pub every night since the staff, environment and food were outstanding.

From the start of our check in, the service was great. There was a man who checked us in. We needed an electric point to charge our car and they had one right in front of our room. Perfect. The room was spacious and warm. They provided water and sherry. The place was clean and comfortable. The man who checked us in came with extra sheets to make up the sofabed which was nice of him to do. The walls are thin. There was a group next door having a party till late and my husband didn't get to sleep well on the pull out couch, while myself and my young daughter slept well in the bedroom. Breakfast is when I had poor service from one of the girls called Eva. She gave me attitude and delivered poor customer service, even trying to put me in the wrong when I asked her for a dish. Obviously, it's not a 4 or 5 star place. There were other girls working there laughing like little mean girls. I think the hotel needs to train the young employees better in how to deliver proper customer service and care for their customers. I had great customer service from the older ones. It really made me uncomfortable. I reported it and was met with an apology from another employee at the desk. For me, the hotel experience could have been a 5 star if I hadn't had that poor customer service, so I give the review a 3 star.

If you want fantastic service entwined with excellent food and an ambience of tranquillity, look no further. I stay in hotels for around 3 weeks a month and can say without hesitation that this is the best all-around service I have received for many years. The staff in this hotel are the politest and most helpful, always answering with a smile and cheerful persona. It's the perfect way to start the day and relax at the end of the day, and the food is truly outstanding. The breakfast options and quality of food was the best I have had in many years. From super fresh fruit and cereal to the most fantastic haddock or kippers (I tried all). The evening meal is available in the restaurant or the bar/lounge. Sitting next to a huge inglenook fireplace with a roaring log fire presented an unsurpassable dining opportunity experience (bar/lounge area). The whole experience of outstanding staff service, fantastic food, and ambience is all entwined to create a pure utopia. I highly recommend this to all for the staff service, food quality, ambience, and price.

Great hotel with excellent food and service. Large comfortable rooms. The only issue I had was the car park lights. We had a room in the converted stables right under one of the lights. They had darkness shades but there was too much light bleed around the sides resulting in a room that never got dark. They would be better served putting blackout curtains on these windows facing the car park to eliminate most of the light bleed.

Pros: The staff were terrific, and our meal in the pub was excellent. You can’t get closer to the center of town. Cons: My room was quite musty—not surprising, as it’s a very old building. Tried going to sleep with the window closed, but the room was stifling within an hour, so I opened it up again. Pub-goers outside had us up until 2:30 in the morning, then traffic noise started up before dawn. If you book here, be sure to request a room off the street if you can.

The food and pub were wonderful! The staff was friendly and attentive. The issue is the room wasn't as inviting as the photo indicated. The bed was dreadful! The mattress left us with backaches in the morning. The shower in the bath was like that in an RV or camper and had a bit of mildew in the corners. Parking was most convenient and the location was excellent for touring.

This hotel is missing on the little details. The staff for the most part were very friendly. We booked two rooms and one of the twin rooms the mattresses didn't even have a cover on the bottom mattress so you could see the stained bottom mattresses. There was no hairdryer or iron in one of the rooms and no face clothes either. The staff on the evening bar were short and not very friendly. For the price I would have expected more.

The receptionist was surly and rude to another member of staff in front of us. The room smelt musty as they need a window in the bathroom (not sure why they had to cover it up), woken by the council recycling truck collecting and dumping the glass bottles from the large bins. As room 14 is in the yard area, we experienced builders and the bin men from 8am. Only good thing as the bed was comfy. BUT Would not recommend

Family room was excellent, very comfortable and quiet. Huge double bathtub. Breakfast was pretty good too. Would happily stay again.

When we first were checking in, there was a slight snafu with our rooms. Our wonderful front desk gentleman, Ben, sent us to the bar for complimentary drinks while they sorted the situation. As we watched, there seemed to be more than one staff problem arising, which Ben smoothed everything out without batting an eye and a smile on his face. This guy, Ben, is a credit to any establishment, as his customer service skills are exemplary.. every time we saw him over the course of 4 days, he was such a joy to see. Remembered our names and would make us laugh. We loved the place, but he made the stay much more memorable

It was a nice enough room, but definitely not worth £255 a night room only. Staff weren't hugely helpful.

Had a lovely stay at Redesdale Arms the second week in September. First time to this hotel but not to Moreton-in-Marsh and in my opinion one of the best hotels in the town. The staff are so friendly and will govthat extra mile to help you. For instance on the Sunday there are slight changes to the menu to allow Sunday roasts. The person i was with wanted something from the weekday menu and would you believe the staff provided her with her choice. Special thanks to Paul and Dan who were behind that. Parking spaces number about 12 to 15 but the 3 days we were there we had no problems parking. Moreton-in-Marsh is reasonably central for trips there so you can get to see the popular attractions easily. The food by the way was really nice withva good choice on the menu. Definitely will be back

Good base for visiting the Cotswolds for a couple days. Short walk from train station. Comfortable and quiet room. Had several good meals.

Great location - right in the center - most of the best villages to visit are close and well connected. Value for money. Also, a plethora of good eateries near the hotel - italian/indian/european. Really helpful and polite staff - would definitely recommend and visit again.

Very nice hotel conveniently located in the heart of Moreton-in-Marsh. The staff were friendly and the room was very comfortable. I'd happily stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Our room was very good in all respects as was the breakfast. We had evening meals in the restaurant as well and they were excellent. The Cotswold mess dessert, a mango and passion fruit variation on Eton Mess is highly recommended. the hotel is a good base for exploring the Cotswolds.

The Redesdale is a lovely place to stay, it serves lovely food & excellent breakfasts. The rooms are lovely too
