Stayed here for 3 nights in late November. As a solo traveller here to see the sights I only had a basic single room with no view, but it was very comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed. All the staff spoke very good English, which saved both them and me from my basic Polish. Check-in was welcoming and efficient. The sky-bar has superb views out over the river. I had a couple of meals and drinks there which were all very good and reasonably priced. The welcome drink was also a nice touch. Breakfast is a buffet style, with plenty of choices of both hot and cold food, and was always well stocked and good quality. The location was excellent, enjoying the view of the river and castle, but also being just a short walk into the old town area, and I felt perfectly safe walking alone late at night to and from. If I visit Kraków again, this is where I want to stay.

Wonderful views of the Castle & River from the rooftop Sky Bar. Great experience having Evening Meals and Drinks watching the Sunsets. Rooms Good and Comfortable. Excellent Week in Krakow staying here. I would recommend strongly.

Highly recommended staying here when visiting Krakow. Located next to the castle and river, but not amongst the touristy and busy areas. Quiet, safe and just out of the way of the main old town. Skybar provides amazing views and you get a complimentary glass of prosseco that you claim and enjoy in the skybar - a nice touch. Hotel itself is welcoming, modern and clean. Rooms are spacious and airy with everything you need. Breakfast is included and is a brilliant buffet with a large variety of polish cold foods, patisserie, cereals, yogurts breads and a small selection of hot food. Only a small fruit selection, but salad is also available. Coffee and tea also provided. Really great place, especially for the price.

Really enjoyed our stay at Pod Welwelem. Located right by the castle and easy 15 minute walk to the main square. The rooftop bar has a lovely view over the river. Buffet breakfast was good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Taxis were plentiful. Parking available in underground carpark right outside.

We booked this hotel having read the other reviews. The hotel is in a very convenient location within easy walking distance of both the old town and the Jewish quarter. Easy to reach by bus from the airport. The hotel has lovely views of the river, especially from the sky bar and the rooms were clean and had everything you needed. The staff are however what really makes this hotel, they are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Bartosz is especially friendly and informative. He told us about some of the legends of Krakow and will happily help you book any trips you are interested in. We have never stayed in such a friendly hotel and will definitely choose this hotel again if and when we return to Krakow.

Staff fantastic, very helpful and friendly. We were in room 111 which was right beside the lift so it quite noisy at times. We were in a double room but it is actually two single beds side by side and two single quilts. The beds were also a bit lumpy. Overall a good stay but beds need updated.

The hotel is small but the rooms are ideal for a mini break. The hotel reception staff are very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had a good selection of dishes and there was always a seat. We had a river view room which had a lovely aspect.

This hotel was an absolutely amazing place to stay. We spent a little extra for a room with a view and it did not disappoint. We had a view of the river that goes across Kraków as well as the Wawel castle. The area is very quiet overnight, and within walking distance of most of the old town. The staff are very friendly, including one fellow who makes it his business to learn some words to help make their guests feel welcome!

The Hotel could hardly be closer to Wawelm Castle ( a major tourist attraction in Krakow) but is still quiet & cosy. This also means it’s on the edge of the old town, where most of the attractions are- easy walking to everywhere. The room was basic but had all the essentials - en suite, shower, Tea & Coffee facilities (although you’ll need to get your own milk) Continental Breakfast is included and is extensive - all you could want, especially the scrambled eggs. The best feature though is the SkyBar- on the 6th floor with great views of the castle and river and a decent menu of snacks and meals. The only glitch was that signal was very patchy on the only English Language TV Station I could find - but that’s hardly essential.

Perfekt gelegenes Hotel in ruhiger Umgebung direkt an der Weichsel. Die Altstadt und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten waren gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Frühstück war gut. Freundliches Personal, jedoch ist der Rezeptionist Bartosz hervorzuheben. Er macht wirklich einen tollen Job. Ich empfehle das Hotel!

Nur leider 3 Sterne deshalb weil wir 2 Sterne abziehen für die Bedienung in der Bar im 6 Stockwerk. Wie soll man so eine Servicekraft nennen ? Arrogant, Arbeitsfaul, Hochnäsig oder ? Erst steht man wie dumm als Hotelgast am Eingang und wird nicht platziert und nachdem wir uns selber einen Platz suchten wurden wir ewig nicht beachtet. Nach ca. 15 Minuten haben wir dann an der Bar eine Bedienung angefordert. Dann kam endlich eine Kellnerin. Natürlich ohne Getränkekarte und faselte was in englisch herum. Auf unsere Anfrage auf eine Getränkekarte, auch in ihre gewählte neuen Landessprache Englisch ( Maps, Drinks, Menu) faselte sie nur weiter. Sie war zu dumm in ihrer eigene Landessprache polnisch zu verstehen, dass man 1 Bier ( 1 Piwo ) möchte. Das Bier was ich anbiete müsste ich eigentlich kennen und den Kunden sagen können wo es herkommt ( Polen, Tschechien. Deutschland etc. ) aber nichts kam da. Nur weiterhin irgend ein Kauderwelsch in englisch unaufhörlich vorgetragen. Meine Frau nahm dann den Gutschein vom Hotel auf einen Prosecco in Anspruch und ich musste dann wohl oder ganz auf 1 Piwo verzichteten. Habe auch nicht mehr nachgefragt. Nun zum Hotel. Schade für das Hotel sonst hätten wir 5 Sterne gegeben. Der Empfang und die Servicekräfte im Frühstücksraum bzw. das Zimmerpersonal taten alle ihre Arbeit voll zufriedenstellend. Besonders die Rezeption hatte immer ein gutes freundliches Wort, auch in Deutsch, beim kommen und gehen zu Begrüßung parat.

Erst steht man wie dumm als Hotelgast am Eingang und wird nicht platziert und nachdem wir uns selber einen Platz suchten wurden wir ewig nicht beachtet. Nach ca. 15 Minuten haben wir dann an der Bar eine Bedienung angefordert. Dann kam endlich eine Kellnerin. Natürlich ohne Getränkekarte und faselte was in englisch herum. Auf unsere Anfrage auf eine Getränkekarte, auch in ihre gewählte neuen Landessprache Englisch ( Maps, Drinks, Menu) faselte sie nur weiter. Sie war zu dumm in ihrer eigene Landessprache polnisch zu verstehen, dass man 1 Bier ( 1 Piwo ) möchte. Das Bier was ich anbiete müsste ich eigentlich kennen und den Kunden sagen können wo es herkommt ( Polen, Tschechien. Deutschland etc. ) aber nichts kam da. Nur weiterhin irgend ein Kauderwelsch in englisch unaufhörlich vorgetragen. Meine Frau nahm dann den Gutschein vom Hotel auf einen Prosecco in Anspruch und ich musste dann wohl oder ganz auf 1 Piwo verzichteten. Habe auch nicht mehr nachgefragt. Nun zum Hotel. Schade für das Hotel sonst hätten wir 5 Sterne gegeben. Der Empfang und die Servicekräfte im Frühstücksraum bzw. das Zimmerpersonal taten alle ihre Arbeit voll zufriedenstellend. Besonders die Rezeption hatte immer ein gutes freundliches Wort, auch in Deutsch, beim kommen und gehen zu Begrüßung parat.

Travelled as a group of 20 from start to finish friendly professional staff throughout the hotel, looked after us, special mention to Bart on reception who made made us all feel very welcome and even left a note with ideas and tips for the whole group to try. He was off the weekend and still took the time to do this showing, his professional to his job.

Hotellet har en super beliggenhed, tæt ved byen og floden. Serviceniveau i restauranterne kan forbedres meget - entusiasme gør ikke noget. Når køkkenet ikke har fået leveret råvarer eller en ovn ikke fungerer, så vær ærlige og fortæl gæsterne det, når de sætter sig ved bordet, i stedet for først, når maden skal bestilles.

We stayed at this hotel a few times, and as always, the experience is great. The hotel is located in a great location, close to all main attractions. Bartek at the reception is the friendliest and most helpful. He always smiles and makes you feel welcome.

Lovely hotel, staff are brilliant and so helpful. Bart on reception will do anything for a greggs sausage roll or steak bake 😂. He provided recommendations that were all brilliant from food to cocktail bars he certainly knows his stuff. Rooftop terrace staff could do with smiling a little more but thats about it. Location is perfect just a little walk into the old town (flat no huge hills), overlooking the Vistula river and rooms lovely and clean with lovely sauna (spa under construction). Rooms were clean, tidy and we had great room with view over the city and the river. Very hospitable country and worth the trip to anyone that is remotely interested in culture, cocktails, gastronomy or anything at all really.

Easy to reach by bus from the airport. The hotel has lovely views of the river, especially from the sky bar and the rooms were clean and had everything you needed. The staff are however what really makes this hotel, they are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Bartosz is especially friendly and informative. He told us about some of the legends of Krakow and will happily help you book any trips you are interested in. We have never stayed in such a friendly hotel and will definitely choose this hotel again if and when we return to Krakow.

The hotel is great location overlooking river. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy. We had welcome drink on rooftop bar which has great views. Around 20-25 minutes walk to centre square. Boat trips on river 3 minutes walk. Will definitely stop here again when we return to Krakow.

Virkelig et super hotel til prisen. Cirka 500DKK pr. nat for en overnatning på enkeltværelse med morgenmad. Virkelig god service - kunne checke ind tidligere end kl. 15.00 og havde min taske opbevaret på stedet både før og efter check in/ud. Rigtig god placering, hvor der var ganske roligt, flot udsigt lige foran hotellet og kort gåafstand til hjertet af Krakow.

The room was clean, facilities were good - tea/coffee making etc. Outside of hotel is deceptive as quite big in side and a lovely bar/breakfast area on ground floor and restaurant and roof top bar on 6th floor. Such a brilliant and convenient location, just next to the castle and cathedral. Overlooking the river and a 10 min stroll to the square.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved this hotel. Amazing views over the river and right next to the castle so location was great. The rooftop bar was lovely and we had all our main meals up there. The pizzas were delicious. All staff were friendly, helpful and excellent. We’ll be back!

Absolutely wonderful stay! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, clean and very comfortable, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
