Super 8 by Wyndham Mound City

You’re booking here because St. Joseph was sold out, not because you want to stay in Mound City. There’s not much there. For the brand it was far from the worst. The room was clean. The bed was hard. The toilet flowed ever so often. It was ok for half the price. They apparently knew St. Joe was sold out and it was still a distance to the next hotel. The parking lot was very well lit and it was right next to McDonalds and a gas station. It was right off the highway. No elevator if you need one.

Not the greatest place. Front desk was having to answer calls while we were checking in. Room was not crisp, meaning bedding was worn. Room smelled of soured carpet. It was a “have to” or we would have asked for another room. It was a late check in after traveling all day. Wyndham’s name was one of the reasons we booked. We won’t stay at another. No elevator. It is pet friendly, could be cause of carpet smell.

Hotel isn’t being kept up well. Room key machine was broken so they had to let us into our room whenever we returned. Bathroom sink drained extremely slow. No pop or food in vending machines No fresh towels given. We had to take used towel’s to front desk to get clean ones. Probably our last stay there

Well first you are treated by a telecom machine no person even at the desk ever. It smelled funny in there when entering seen a small roach. Have no elevators and when traveling with a toddler we all know you have a lot of things to carry in and that's hard to do going up stairs and not to mention I have health issues to make it even harder. The air conditioner wasn't that cold. Oh and the parking lot is not friendly to Dooley trucks. The bed was comfy and shower had some left over pubic hairs in it.

Pool was not operational. Pullout mattress cover had numerous dead bugs. Staff was very nice however and breakfast was okay.

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Desk people flat out lied when asked questions. The Web site showed pictures of a pool when I asked about the pool when I checked in I was told that it was under renovations. When I asked the desk person in the morning he said that there never was a pool and it was a problem with the Web site then later said that it was filled in and they were going to dig it out again in the spring. Will never stay here again.

The only thing I did not like was no coffee maker in the room

There wasnt a live person at the front desk, everything was done virtual. Then we got to our room and the first thing i noticed was a cockroach, then there was more of them, i walk down stairs and ask to be moved to a different room and they do i ask for a peron on site to meet me at the new room to make sure there are no bugs in this room and the first thing as soon as we open the door is another cockroach. I qas so mad at this point we grabbed our stuff and walked down stairs to resquest our money back. The virtual guy says i am so sorry of course we will process the return. I had to drive over 50 miles to the next hotel. I am very disappointed and will never stay at this place and i recommended nobody else to stay here either

Hair in bathroom floor, roach crawling on sink.

There were cockroaches in the room and lobby. Pubic hairs in the bathroom. The bedding looked as if it had not been washed in weeks. This place is aweful

The carpet in the room was dirty, the bathroom was old and dirty and there was a cockroach in the bathroom this morning. Breakfast was adequate.

There was hair in the tub (and a big wad of hair) food all over the floor, blood on the bedding and not the kind that had been washed, the pillows were used. I do not believe the room had been cleaned. I would have asked to be moved but we had got in very late. I will not be staying there again or any of the super 8. Every one of them have been dirty but not like this one. This one was worse. I use to stay in the super 8s all the time. I will be changing hotel chains.

The cleanliness was top notch!! Friendly staff, and great coffee!!

It was not clean, the floors were dirty and sticky.

There were 2 roaches in the room when we can into the room, the tissue box was empty, multiple towels had holes in them. Contacted hotels.com and the they contacted the hotel manager. They would not compensate any of the stay because we didn't report it at the time of the stay with the hotel staff. I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. People can do reviews after a stay and that's what we decided to do. Please inform your staff and manager that the place needs attention.

Room was clean

We have stayed here several times, as it’s moderately priced and close to some property we own at the lake. Never again! Waking up in the night to find roaches on the wall was absolutely disgusting. Not to mention to kiosk you now use to check in. To see the reviews that say the property has recently been remodeled is an absolute lie! They have to be creating fake profiles. Nope! Never again!

Check in was very quick. Curtains were off the rods/tracks and I had to use my hair clips to pin them together for privacy. Pet price was pretty steep compared to other similar hotels. Breakfast was lacking variety in healthy food options. Couch in room was filthy with dog hair.

The property was pretty much what you would expect it to be. One frustration for me was the internet was poor at best to not working the last 36 hours of my stay. Breakfast is a real stretch but it is something. The room was fine and enjoyed that.

Staff was great. It was crazy warm in the front lobby and the room upon arrival. TV service was out. Breakfast was pretty lackluster, and there wasn't anything I could actually eat. Not a bad stop if on a road trip.

Everything was good.. tiles in the bathroom were loose. Shower fixtures are loose. Knob came off in my hand. Last thing... It was $35 more expensive using it the app, then booking with the hotel. Not including the Veteran discount so probably around $50 I could have saved.

The room was OK, but it had just been painted so the paint fumes were still bothersome. I had to leave the window open. The furniture was old (the desk chair would fall over backwards if you tried to lean back) and the bathroom floor and fixtures were old and shabby. It worked for one night of sleep while passing through.

It was nice but could hear other guests talking through walls. Also whatever they clean with prior to our arrival was very strong like chlorine or Clorox.. but it was clean.

Our stay was a good one. The staff at this hotel are always friendly and respectful of their guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is convenient. I will definitely stay here again.

Kick remote person check in…?…maybe I’m old school but I like to know there is a live person here if needed. The kiosk person said she could call someone if I needed anything…just weird to me.

the we using a remote checs bill the I enterd did aTHE SAME AS when I entered the Others. I had just gone to the bank and knew exactly to the nickey how many $20 bill I had Still the remote check in guy equired ne to add $20 as as he claimed there was no way to put $ in and him not to know it. He also for unknown reasons charged me a $100 deposit claiming (i should get it back at checkut plus if they found an additional $20 I would get it back) so now my $97 one nite room is up to $217. Lucily qa local manger ???bobby appeared and told me HQ did not show any extra Monies collected and I again explained it did not feel as though the device took the noney but the bill fell into the nachine, they could not open the kiosk til morning. Not much latr "Bobby" returned the "deposit plus $20 he found in the machine. Evidntly he contacted HQ and was given permission to open the remote kiosk and indeed found the $20 bill it was in the workings of the machine. Thanks & hooray to the local guy "Bobby" for taking ownership of the issue and following through. BOO to "talking head" ouf state handleing reservations for how many other locations in a manner not befitting this company. I know the need to keep down costs but in this case it is a failed experiment and I would expect the "remote check in checkout kiosk" to be headed to the dump.Don't even get me started on the crap w/ the kiosk when our only keycard was locked in. Bobby used his pass key before I coud get a kiosk key, Not

The staff and management really provided top tier customer service. There was a last minute challenge with my reservation, and they handled it without any hesitation.

They were very nice people! We went and seen Messi play in Kansas City and my son ended up giving the owners son one of his Messi jerseys. Very nice place

A good place to stop for the night on a road trip. The motel is convenient to the interstate. The interior is dated but clean and the staff was very friendly. Our room was comfortable. Fridge and microwave in the room.

The room was clean and ready for us. Great king sized bed and wonderful shower. Newly remodeled. The breakfast was minimal, but we came to sleep, shower and grab some coffee and something to chew on before continuing our trip. Would stay here again without a doubt .

Good value for the price. My bed was nice and firm. Continental breakfast, toast, waffles, cereal, no eggs or meat. I would stay there again if I was passing through since I got a good night's rest which is what I was looking for.

Convenient, clean, great breakfast

This is the perfect little rest stop for traveling. It’s not in a big city, so not a ton to do, but it is quiet and peaceful. It’s not crowded, which I prefer when traveling. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and there was a quick breakfast there in the morning (with an awesome tea selection).

The bed was clean and comfortable. The room was stuffy until we put the AC on. There was no shampoo, conditioner or liquid soap in the dispensers in the shower (I found out too late). The towels seemed cleaned but smelled bad. Breakfast was absolutely miserable and was stale Raisin Bran etc. The counter tops were unclean too. Outside was even worse. Leaky garbage can and unclean parking lot. Just very lazy in the cleaning department. I will never stay there again.
