Clarion Hotel Admiral

The main reason not to give it an Excellent is that the parking is off site. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent for its category. It is conveniently located for all the major attractions in and around the city center.

Loved the terrace

Very narrow space between buildings where we can directly see the next room across from window. Seaview were non-existence as it is a small window where you need to gaze diagonally to catch a glimpse of it. The best part is where the stretch of Bryggen houses can be seen across from hotels outdoor dining area, other than limited beverage service at the lounge, nothing much to rave. Parking were non-existent, difficult to get around parking area too, not to mentioned the inconvenience of loading luggage’s from the car.

It is a clean, modern hotel, located in downtown Bergen. Solveig (“Sunny”) at Sunday’s checkin was WONDERFUL. The restaurant/bar in the restaurant was closed, as is the case in many places in Norway on Sunday, as I understand. The room (“319”) was very cramped, but I found it workable. There is a small balcony. The room has a large window looking into a looming office building located next door (with an intervening, small canal).

Trodde de hadde treningstudio oppfattet det på websiden. Men det var der ikke. Rommet var rent, men en rar lukt rundt skapet jeg aldri fant ut hva var. Dusjen dusjet hele badet. Ide å få nytt dusjhode. Fantastisk god frokost og hyggelig personale.

No parking! No safe in rooms.

Fint hotel. Tilbud om rabat på parkering men det gælder åbenbart kun norskregistrerede køretøjer. Vi fik hele tiden op en anden bil end vores med samme reg nr. vi mødte en anden udlænding som havde samme problem. Valg af land var ikje muligt, så parkering var til fuld pris.

The location is nice; however, there is no on-site parking, so we had to find a parking lot and walk back to the hotel. The bathroom is relatively small. Overall, it is a pleasant stay.

The room was not ready when we checked in the room, there were dirty socks, dirty towel, and trash still on the flour.. it’s unbelievable for a four stars hotel.

Great location, great breakfast. They did not clean our room. There was think dust on all surfaces by the time we left.

Good location. Breakfast good. Toilet dirty when we checked in. with leftovers not cleaned. Bedside lamp didn’t work. Rubbish left behind heater. Generally poorly cleaned and maintained. Laundry service appallingly expensive.

Perfect location to explore the main area of Bergen. Staff was extremely friendly and kind. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. The bed was comfy and the bathroom very clean.

The hotel location is excellent. Also, the staff were friendly , but looked bored and confused. The rooms were small and dusty, with great views all around the fjord . The general feel in the hallways is of a hostel . The bed was comfortable, but the king was separated into two twins connected with two blankets. There was no phone in our room, and some outlets were not working to connect our chargers . Overall, for the money spent, it wasn’t worth it .

I loved the location and the view from our room. The only negative would be the way the hotel website displays their rooms. My room had a great view but my room didn’t look anything like the room shown on the website. Our room was very small and the one displayed was a lot larger. They need to be more specific. The shower also was disappointing. Water filled the whole bathroom after showering. I would stay again but would ask to see the room prior to checking in. Also, although the balcony was nice, you can only stand outside and not sit. It was also a shared balcony so make sure you close and lock the door or your neighbor could walk into your room.

Room was small despite it was a delux premium room. The best thing was it's tiny balcony which offer a Fantastic View of tbe Brygen Harbour wooden houses. Other than that i cannot find any credits i can give to the room. There was no phone you can coonnect to the front desk for assistance n morning call, no USB connectors for easy charging of your mobiles. Only a small desk cramped With a tray of cups, glasses, n the kettle. A large wardrobe was inconveniently placed so that , if opened, would block your mobility in the room. Lighting was insufficient. We have to struggle to find an appropriate place to put our luggages n open them to sort out our things but at the same time still being able to get around inside the room without knocking against each other. The rigid 'half' shower curtain n The slipperry tub didn't make things better. House keeping staffs Took away our PRIVATE towel, and didn't even replace with the sufficient number of clean towels everyday. However, frontdesk staffs were friendly n helpful with direction asking about scenic spots n traffic. Except for the convenience n the view from the room, i would think TWICE before coming to this hotel if i am going back for a revisit in Bergen. I think tbe hotel need an upgrade in her rooms n kouse-kerlibg staffs' quality, if she is going to stay in business n to compete with other hotels in Bergen. Dining area is nice, though not opulent. Breakfast n Supper, quality n variety sufficient n good if not superb.

pros: nice view over the harbour. good and abundant breakfast. cons: room's small, a bit awkward by the standard of a deluxe size. well maintained but still old and lacks noise-cancelling.

Vänlig personal. Utmärkt frukost, rent och fint. Dock var utsikten en stor besvikelse. Vi var på översta våning, och hade bara ett takfönster in mot gården. Hade hoppats på lite utsikt givet läget och premiumpris.

Staff were lovely. Hotel feels dated but it’s clean. I was disappointed to pay for three adults but to be given a very small room with a put-up bed rather than a room that catered for the number charged for.

Gorgeous view of Bryggen! Very comfortable beds. Good service. We asked for a sea view, which was such a beautiful treat, but we weren’t aware that would mean noise and music from the wharf until 3am—that’s our inexperience, but dealing w jet lag, it would have been nice to be warned that it’s tough to sleep in those rooms.

The hotel is perfectly located on the harbour, directly across from historic Bryggen. The room was spacious and comfortable. Lighting was limited after dark. There was no phone in the room.

Very convenient from Bergen train station just within 15 mins walk to the hotel And going to Bergen airport only 45 mins and the airport bus station is only 5 mins walk from the hotel I would like to thank you for the special arrangement for my wife birthday. Also, the restaurant staff are amazing and providing excellent service for her birthday celebration. Thank you very much ! I would recommend this hotel to all

Room was great, staff was kind

Millie at the front desk was amazing. She was so helpful, gave us things to see and do, helped us with dinner reservations, and was incredibly kind. One of our party was not feeling well and she went above and beyond to help get us into our rooms. I would stay there again just for that level of service. The location was great and the view was amazing.

Only criticism is that they wouldn’t check us in until 3:00 pm, and at that time there were mobs of people extending to outside the building- disorganized process.

The room was spotless and the staff were very friendly even before I checked into my room. They checked in on me while I was waiting for my family to return and even brought me coffee while I waited.

From guest service to great rooms to fabulous location,you cannot go wrong staying here. Practically everything in Bergen is in walking distance from this hotel. The bar is open and welcoming, and the breakfast in the morning is phenomenal. But back to the guest service: unbeatable. If I return to Bergen, I will without a doubt look to stay at the Clarion Hotel Admiral.

Firstly I have never written a negative review before. My treatment at this hotel was appalling. I was abused in a very bad way by restaurant staff when going to breakfast 15 minutes early. It was Easter Sunday and hotel changed breakfast from 6:30am to 8am. Staff at reception day prior suggested I go to breakfast early as I had an 8am all day tour. They said all food may not be out but eat what was. As I was on tour I tried talking via app. I did get a very bland apology from a staff member via the app. Treatment was so bad – hotel should have got relevant staff member to apologise. Or perhaps a sincere chat with a manager or a sincere handwritten note. If I had spoken to hotel staff the way they spoke to me – security would have been called and probably asked to leave. My conversation in the app was cold on there part and I felt they were sweeping under the carpet. Do not stay at this hotel as if something goes wrong – you will not be supported.

This hotel gave away my room to another customer even after I called them to advise I was going to be late. I called them at 10 p.m. to advise them of our 7hr. train delay (which made National news) and arrived at 3 a.m. Even after my phone call and the hotels check it time up to 6 a.m. they decided to give my room away to someone else and double their money. So, basically they gave away the room I purchased through hotels.com (which was a family room) and gave me a basic room. So in order for my little kids to have somewhere to sleep I had to purchase an additional room at 3 in the morning. So, in closing I did not receive the room I paid and had to pay another $300 for another additional room. The hotel staff was very pleasant and agreed that they should refund the money but after 3 days of telling me the manager was not available I left with the situation unresolved. The manager later emailed me and said she would refund $105 dollars. Overall the hotel was nice and the breakfast was amazing. However, after traveling through Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and staying at multiple Scandic hotels this Clarion is the only hotel that prioritizes their profits over customer service. Hotels.com did not help at all either.

Great shower. Excellent restaurant that we enjoyed. Breakfast was awesome.

The room perfect. Perfect spot, perfect view and clean. The staff on reception and the bar were very helpful and super attentive. An extra shout out to the restaurant manager who, after our day trip out, managed to get us a table on valentines night for dinner. So so helpful. Breakfast was by far one of the best buffet breakfast of any hotel we’ve stayed at.

It was a very good stay for the final 2 days we had in Norway. So close to shopping,dining and staff was very helpful and friendly. The only negative is they do not have much of a dinner menu so never ate here. Great Indian restaurant nearby.

Very centrally located, on the waterfront. Breakfast is extensive. Our only quibble is about the showers. We repeatedly had to mop up the area around the shower to avoid walking on a very wet floor. A favorite with cruise ships and tours, which means that there are surges of activity and congestion, particularly at breakfast. They manage that by asking guests to pre-commit to specific 45-minute slot.
