Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John

Confusing parking garage absent of directions. Worst I’ve ever seen.

We had a great stay! The hotel is wonderful. The pool was crystal clear. There was a fire alarm at 730am which was disappointing. We had to evacuate and wait to go back to our room. But this was beyond their control. The price was a bit extreme. We are from Alberta and hotels are more around the 100 to 150 range. Didnt get any discount for the alarm and disruption either. We'd try again if the price is right.

The Delta was located right downtown so it was easy to walk to restaurants, shopping, the market, etc. Paid parking is available and shared with the neighbouring mall. Breakfast was not included in our room rate but is available in their restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in St John. The pool was an extra bonus point. It was very clean and welcoming. The water could have been warmer but I liked it. The staff was extra nice. Especially the doormen, they were very helpful!

Difficult to find and unless paying for valet parking, you have to go into a parking garage and park on a designated floor and go through a maze to get into the hotel area. Difficult taking luggage through. Dated rooms.

Wonderful relief after a long day to have Valet options at this location. Parking is limited and was even more limited to taller vehicles.

The hotel is fine - if a little dated - and has a convenient downtown location and a restaurant with an excellent breakfast buffet and friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable. That said, a significant negative was the rather convoluted garage parking set up which involved driving out of the entrance, entering a garage, driving up to level 6, entering a not particularly well-marked door and then crossing a mezzanine level to elevators tucked by in a corner on the other side of the hotel. The desk clerk did provide written instructions with a map which helped but did not mention to use lane 1 (the only lane that accepts the hotels payment for parking) to exit the garage. We went into lane 2 and had to back out to use the appropriate lane. We did not see any signage indicating which way to go.

My concern was the gym facilities that had both the treadmills that were not working. For the price, expected the gym to be up to date and equipment working.

The Delta wa great all around, the concierge especially Robert was very informative and gave good suggestions for a brunch restaurant with live music. The only downside was the laundry. One washer and one dryer for 3 floors of guests, had to wait over 3 hours to get a chance to use the machines.

VERY GOOD place to stay. Under cover parking with vala service if it is required.

My stay was good but the Saint John location has a nice problem. I saw one on 2 different occasions in my room. When you pay over 200$ for a room you don’t want to see a mouse in it.

Bathroom was very dirty on check in.

For the price it’s unfortunate that the beds were not as clean for a price tag of 300.00! While inspecting for bed bugs I noticed hairs on the sheets that did not belong to us. Stains on the mattress. Also there was a strong fowl smell once entering the room. The bathroom was showing its age and the sink stopper was broken.

I had a great stay! The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was great.

A few days ago my family and me had a chance to stay one night in Delta Hotel by Marriot Saint John. Since this hotel is one of the Marriot chains, I had some expectations for it. How much I was surprised to find what I found. The room (212) was extremely dirty. Especially restroom. Dust, mold, dirt, stains on blankets and curtains. All this was just awful. Morning breakfast was terrible as well. Taste bad and stale food. My general impression of the hotel is very sad. Like it lives out its last days. But the cost of staying is one of the most expensive in the whole city. I’m so disappointed to spend a lot of money on a service like your hotel provides. Maybe my feedback gives you some insight into what goes wrong and what you need to improve.

There were several stains on the carpet in our room. My wife wouldn’t even take her shoes off in the room.

Overall, the hotel was just okay. The parking garage was very dingy and didn’t feel safe. Finding the way from the garage to the hotel was confusing and could really benefit from clearer signage. On the positive side, the room itself was spacious, which was a pleasant surprise. That said, the décor felt dated and in need of a refresh. We stayed on the 3rd floor with a small harbour view, but unfortunately the windows were clouded from failed dual panes, making it hard to enjoy the view at all. The bathroom also needs attention—a renovation would go a long way. The shower head, in particular, was very dirty and off-putting. Overall, the hotel feels tired and could use a full update, especially considering the prices being charged. With some much-needed investment, this property could really shine, but as it stands, it doesn’t live up to expectations.

Stay was good, staff were lovely to accommodate with issues with multiple rooms. First room the bathroom wasn’t clean, there was mold on the ceilings in the shower. Was switched to a different room where we found bugs under the sheets, third room had no issues found for the remainder of the stay.

Excellent hotel. Room was spacious, clean, quiet and well put together. Check-in was easy and friendly. Breakfast was great. Only minor negative was the parking situation - you can pull up to the doors to drop off luggage, but otherwise, it's a short awkward trek up around the corner to the parking garage. But at least it was free for my stay.

Very basic hotel. Room was large and clean. Bathroom very much in need of an update. Overall, it won't thrill you but it gets the job done. Walkable location.

No fan in bathroom. Internet rigamarole (I don't want to sign up or have to go through a whole "thing" just to use the internet. Bedside light not working. Complicated layout of hotel

We enjoyed our stay. The room had a great layout was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was nice and quiet in the hallways, so no late night wake ups. I’d definitely stay there again.

Had a great room overlooking the bay of Fundy. Bed was comfortable.

Elevators are slow, shower head was so low I had to squat down and I’m not tall. Very poor insulation between rooms teens kept us up well after midnight with young kids phone in room to call front desk to file complaint but it didn’t work. Property was once a nice option but time has taken its toll. Love staying in uptown Saint John but will be looking at a different property next time. Staff was excellent other than these gripes

Just another average place to stay for a few days. Very close and convenient to downtown. Could walk anywhere. The room door was tricky. Thanks to housekeeper for the tip… not provided by front desk. Quiet room and comfortable bed. The parking should be free if you’re staying there. Also, the wifi really sucked bad. Shouldn’t have to be a Bonvoy member to log on. Simple fix… give you a password and if you”re a customer then you have wifi. Had to sign in to Bonvoy for 3 separate devices. Marriott, you can do better.

staff we rude and disrespectful - i would never stay here again.

The staff in all areas from reception to restaurant and house keeping were the friendliest team i have ever encountered. Very helpful, professional and polite. The room was very clean and nicely set up. Excellent location.

Cleaning staff knocked 3 times on door and came in the room while we are sleeping between 7-9am. Really not professional. Also the hotel knocked on our door at 5am to slide the bill under our door? Worst hotel experience, could’nt get any sleep. Would not reccomend.

Staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating from the moment I arrived, until I checked out. The food was amazing; and room service was fast and friendly! Look forward to returning!

Our bell hop, Daniel was awesome helping us to the room. He spotted us afterwards and gave us some suggestions for supper. I also asked if I could get extra make up wipes and staff were very accommodating. The lady that checked us in was also very nice and made sure we had everything we needed.

They couldn’t find my reservation check in took over 45 min with a confirmation number from the hotel. I ordered room service and received a raw hamburger which took them over 15 min to come and check it and pick it up.

Comfortable bed, room. Unable to check in online and experienced a long wait on phone to reach front desk. Check in was slow and no breakfast vouchers given at check-in nor was a housekeeping request at front desk actioned.

Front desk staff was excellent and supremely helpful. Epitomized the maritime hospitality we’d heard all about.

The hotel is within walking distance to City Market and restaurants. There is a lot of construction around the area, but that seems to be true of all Staint John.

Hotel was nice and comfortable but is housed in a mall building that has 4-5 businesses open. Almost every unit was locked with rental signs posted.

The hotel and people were great. Car parking on street was easy. St John’s was a great and easy city to visit and the hotel was within easy walking distance to most sites and restaurants worth visiting.

Great location to enjoy all that the waterfront area had to offer.

Great location for wvents at TD Station, walking distance all inside, reasonable rates for a high quality hotel!

Pedway system leads to various shopping, library , aquatic Center , city market , restaurants , hockey rink all under one roof

The parking was a bit confusing, but it is in a great location, so I was able to walk everywhere.

The only restaurant needs a refresh of the menu. Food was adequate; one lunch order of fish & chips was extremely over cooked. The wait staff are excellent, particularly Nancy.

The breakfast option available at the on site restaurant was terrible. $20 per person for the breakfast buffet and for that price you would expect excellence. The food from the chafing dishes ( scrabbled eggs, potatoes and bacon) was lukewarm at best, frozen home fries, bacon so thin you could see through and pancakes like hockey pucks that you couldn’t even cut through.Mentioned to server that the food wasn’t even close to hot then saw the kitchen staff come out and light the burners under the chafing dishes… too little too late. Wasn’t offered a discount and didn’t push it as we realize not the serving staffs fault, and our server was lovely.Would never go back or recommend

The bed at this hotel was the most comfortable I’ve had at any hotel for a long time. My room was large, comfortable and clean and I had no complaints. The hotel is very clean, very spacious, has lots of amenities and is in a great location next to the harbor. The parking arrangement in the adjoining multi storey parking lot is very easy and convenient, but cost $18.95 + tax daily, which is pricey. I guess that’s typical though for a city area where buildings don’t have their own parking lot spaces, so I’m OK with that. The breakfast was included in my room, but if it hadn’t been, I would never have eaten breakfast there at $19 + tax, especially since I’m vegan and they didn’t even have any plant based butter for toast, or any vegan items on the menu. The hotel elevator requires you to use your room key to access any floor, so although that’s a bit of a pain to keep scanning your key every time you use the elevator, it does convey a small sense of security that no one can use the elevator unless they are staying there. One thing I found a little annoying was that when I checked in, they gave me a password for the secured internet access, but when I got to my room and logged on, I discovered that their wifi internet was actually open, with no password. I tried several times, but there was definitely no secured connection there, so I had to use an open, unsecured connection, which I wasn't happy about. If I visit St John in the future, I will most likely stay here again.

Well located in the middle of historic Saint John, very walkable, close to restaurants and waterfront. Restaurant in the hotel was good but pricey for brekkie.

This property is great and there is lots to do and see in this area , breakfast buffet is amazing and staff very friendly and accommodating.
