The hotel was lovely! Staff were so welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean. Lobby bar was great. The hotel is steps away from the Dublin Express bus stop, making it such an easy transfer from the airport. Would stay here again anytime!

Elegant, comfortable, and fun! The hotel has a fun vibe with staff that is friendly and professional. Bar and lobby was fun to visit and meet other visitors! My only wish is that there was roof top access for all visitors.

The rooms go around a nightclub/entertainment area that is very loud- the beat literally vibrated the floor of our room from midnight until 315 am. It woke us up and we stayed awake until it closed. We were on the second floor so it may have been worse there but it was horrible.

I love the “oldie worldly” look of the place. Had real keys for the doors and even a rotary dial phone. Multiple bars and a good restaurant. Staff was exceptional and the location was perfect. We’ll stay there again!

Perfect for a weekend in central Dublin. Staff in the hotel were fantastic & very helpful. A few bars to choose from onsite, the cocktails in the The Curious Mister were to die for. We also had an amazing Dinner in Tomahawk, a great place to dine if you love steak. We will stay again when visiting Dublin in the future.

Fabulous staff. Two cool bars. Lovely to be on the Liffey river. And fun to be in the vibrant Temple Bar nightlife area UNTIL midnight when we were tired. The partying right outside our courtyard window went on until after 2 am on both Friday and Saturday night- the two nights we stayed there. Even with earplugs, our 2nd floor room was miserable for sleeping. Would be perfect for those who want to party until 3 a.m…

If you can get past the fact that this hotel doesn't have air conditioning, the biggest complaint with this place was noise. At the weekends the bars both out the back in Temple Bar and the bar patio that opens into the inner courtyard of the hotel blast music with heavy bass until 3am. I am a heavy sleeper, but there was no sleeping with the reverberations coming through the room. The first room I was given had not been renovated and was extremely basic for a hotel with a 4* rating and definitely not worth the price tag. Additionally, there was a slow drain in the bathroom sink and low water pressure in the toilet. Whatever little water pressure that was in the toilet seemed to be funneled into the shower. I'm all for a power shower, but when you have a tub with a single layer shower curtain that clings to your entire body while trying to shower with the curtain inside the tub, the only option is to let it hang on the outside and flood the bathroom floor. The bathroom smelled of mold so it seems like this had been an ongoing problem with that room. The interactions with all the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and professional and they were very obliging in moving me to a new room. The second room had been upgraded, but it was mostly cosmetic and the noise from the bars was worse. In the absence air conditioning, the room had a fan, which helped drown out the music from the bars on quieter nights, but nothing could drown out the thumping bass at the weekends.

Although my only window looked out into a service courtyard it was quiet and I knew that I’d booked a discounted room through Hotels.com and wasn’t going to have the most luxurious room. It was, nevertheless, quiet and comfortable and mostly clean – although there was a torn top of a snack bag on the rug from a previous occupant that should have been vacuumed up prior to my arrival. I was there three days and on the final day the toilet also began running for 5-10 minutes after flushing until its buttons were jiggled several times…but it did eventually work. It was also noticeable that the electrical sockets weren’t very tightly fixed to the wall and started to pull out when removing a plug or plug adapter. The hotel’s website did say that these “deluxe double rooms” hadn’t been fully updated and that may account for the discounted price through Hotels.com. Despite these observations, the location was great, the staff were wonderful, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the vibe was good if not elegant.

Beds good but rooms and bathrooms specifically need upgrading, black mould stains and chipped off enamel on bath, bathroom floor cracked and chipped. Similar issues with communal areas, badly needs investment, certainly not up to a 4 star standard.

Wonderful property in excellent location to explore Dublin on foot. Front desk staff very good. Room was sparking clean every day. Nice towels, comfortable bed. Lobby was lively and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Downside of location is noise, especially late at night, due to location near Temple Bar area. And since it was the holidays, the revealers were out late and raucous. The restaurant food wasn’t very good and rather expensive given the quality. Not many options for dining due to closures during the Christmas holidays. But if you go there any other time there are wonderful restaurants close by.

I’m shocked that this place has such great reviews. The only plus about this place is that it’s in a great location and the staff was nice. The bathroom was filthy when we arrived. Dusty floor, and even sticky in some areas. The shower does not drain properly and you are standing in a foot of tub water while trying to get clean. There’s also no hotel room keys, but regular key and locks to enter each room and is difficult to unlock. They lock the front entrance at night so you have to hope that someone inside is paying attention to let you even in the building.

The hotel is located right on temple bar area which was very convenient. The room was okay. Comfy bed but the bathroom was a little bit old and found some dirty spots here and there. Amenities were all there so that was good.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The front desk staff are very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The pillows not so much. The hotel is old, I understand that part, but if they had more effort to clean better their bathrooms. It looks very dirty, even when it is not. They can do better on that.

We had a great time! The location was wonderful. The staff was superb. There was a heat wave while we were there so our room was very warm… I didn’t think to check, before booking, to see if it had a/c.

Great spot for walking the city and seeing the sights. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Bathroom shower needs repair. Front desk was made aware and thankful for the notice. Would definitely stay here again. We had a room with 2 separated rooms. Perfect for a traveling family.

Great location, fantastic staff, lovely rooms. Only downside was the air-conditioning in the room didn't work, but they'd already put one of the large tower fans in, which did a great job in keeping the room cool.

For the price I expected a little more amenities and a more upgraded property. No air conditioning. The room was stifling hot when we arrived. The windows were old and only partially opened allowing small air flow into the room. It is noisy but to be expected in that location. Great location and easy to walk to various bars pubs restaurants. Rooms were clean, pillows felt old and hard, and the mattress also felt well used and old.

Jose checked us in and gave us the rundown of Temple Bar with location and proximity to all of the local attractions. We were introduced to Ross, the bar manager, who was a wealth of info on Irish whiskeys and the local area. Our room was quite nice but backed onto the fans/ducting and an outdoor bar below so was noisy when the windows had to be open which was every time the shower was used. The front desk attendant the morning we checked out spent a great deal of time discussing Euro politics with others ahead of us while we WAITED pressed for time to get to the airport but I recommend staying here.

The hotel was lovely! Staff were so welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean. Lobby bar was great. The hotel is steps away from the Dublin Express bus stop, making it such an easy transfer from the airport. Would stay here again anytime!

We had a great time! The location was wonderful. The staff was superb. There was a heat wave while we were there so our room was very warm… I didn’t think to check, before booking, to see if it had a/c.

Great spot for walking the city and seeing the sights. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Bathroom shower needs repair. Front desk was made aware and thankful for the notice. Would definitely stay here again. We had a room with 2 separated rooms. Perfect for a traveling family.

This was by far the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. If you're looking for a quiet few days, you've come to the wrong place. I would have expected to be asked on arrival if I wanted a quiet room. I think the rooms facing the river are quieter than those facing the back. Other than that, it's a great hotel, especially because of its excellent location.

The property was not new, but you could see that many details were very thoughtfully picked when the property was new. The balcony was nice (having outside air and access to view Temple Bar area) however there was an empty beer glass (from former guest) on one of the chairs that would have been out of view of cleaning staff if they did not check the balcony. I am not a fan of shower curtains because with the air flow they touch you as you shower but the water pressure and shower itself were outstanding. We had a cocktail in the lobby bar and it was well made and the bartender was attentive and very busy but provided great service. We would definitely stay again in the future and recommend the hotel to others.

Phenomenal. It was beautiful, clean, the bed was comfy, the shower water pressure was on point. Also, to top it off, Ambre (their bartender) is a national treasure.

Perfect for a weekend in central Dublin. Staff in the hotel were fantastic & very helpful. A few bars to choose from onsite, the cocktails in the The Curious Mister were to die for. We also had an amazing Dinner in Tomahawk, a great place to dine if you love steak. We will stay again when visiting Dublin in the future.

Booked a stay because I was having cocktails with friends in the bar and decided to treat myself to a night away from the kids. The cocktail bar itself was closed as it was Dec 26th but the front lobby was quite nice for drinks. Restaurant was also closed, which I thought was a bit much for a hotel, but of course staff are entitled to their holidays too. I ordered takeout and it was delivered quickly. Once I'd left the ground floor, which has been very nicely decorated in the usual Press Up Art Deco pastiche, I found the facilities dated: mid-90s vibes The bathroom fixtures were worn and a bit sad-looking (chipping bath, wood veneer storage etc), and the TV was very low-tech, with very few channel options and no streaming options). The noise from the club downstairs didn't bother me, though it is something to be aware of if that kind of thing does bother you. For me the biggest disappointment was that the room was severely overheated. Sweltering, and even with the windows open (in December) and a fan blowing onto the bed, I found it very uncomfortable. I called reception twice - they told me they would turn the heat off and also directed me to a valve on the radiator. I turned the knob one way and waited 20 minutes or so: still roasting. Other way (knob casing fell off in my hands btw), 20 minutes: still roasting. And so on. At around 2AM the heat subsided. Again, I had phoned reception twice. No guest wants to keep having to do that.
