The hotel is charming on the outside and the There is no way to park in front of the hotel. One must walk at least 300 ft if taking a taxi or driving a car to get the entrance of the hotel. The streets area historic cobblestones making it very difficult to walk with luggage. The hotel itself is very difficult to find and there is no one to assist with luggage. The public spaces remind us of the charm of an old grand hotel. However, when you go to your rooms the hallways and foyers are dirty, beat up and tattered. The hotel has so much potential but really lacks love and attention. The room itself is clean.

The listing for this website showed free parking on site. This isn't true. There is plenty of parking for those visiting St. Malo, but the only free parking is over night, 8:00 PM to 9:00 AM, and it is a short walk from the hotel. During the day, all paring has a charge. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was very nice and the views ocean view from the upper floors are excellent.

Wonderful stay other than the fact we had to park 15 minute walk away cause the intra Muros was very very busy and we couldn't find a parking spot nearer as we did last time. Other than that it was a really good stay

Our hotel stay was great. We stayed 3 nights and our only complaint was parking. We were told Sunday parking was free and we were charged 93.30 Euros for 3 days parking in Q park. We expected to pay for 2 days since we were told Sunday was a free day but this is not correct. It will be helpful to other guest to be clear if you need to park your car safely to call the hotel ahead for arrangements. The description states parking available and perhaps it is but unless you can afford over 30 euro a day don’t get the surprise like we did. Call the hotel to verify your parking needs. Also, the first evening some guy took too much and was naked from the waist down pounding on doors. Woke us at 4 and 5 am which after a long day traveling was unacceptable but the other 2 nights were perfect. The breakfast is 5 star! One of the most beautiful breakfast buffets we have had. They had so many choices for every hungry belly and the presentation was beautiful. And all the staff are very kind and helpful.

This hotel is now starting to look a little dated, which has charm but also downsides. There are better rooms, but it’s pot luck whether you get an older or upgraded room. The restaurant is amazing and the terrace ideal for a drink before dinner.

Great hotel with a lovely ambiance. Triple room was comfortable with large windows that opened. Bathroom was excellent, stocked with amenities. Lounge areas were lovely. Area surrounding was the old part of town surrounded by the ramparts, making this ideal for exploring. Parking onsite was limited and we parked in the public parking lot a short walk away overnight.

Disappointed. Arrived just after check in time but the room was not available until one hour after. The condition of the room was 'scruffy', the carpet was stained and the door to the bathroom was scratched and unsightly. The shower was hand held with no screen on the bath. Scantily equiped with soaps and very little in the way of tea/coffee making. Even the breakfast was badly organised and poor by many hotel standards. The only positive was the hotel's location.

C’est la première fois que nous réceptionnons une chambre d’hôtel aussi sale. L’aspirateur n’a pas été passé, tout est poussiéreux, nous avons retrouvé des cheveux et des cils dans les draps troués de nos deux lits. Cheveux collés au carrelage de salle de bain, baignoire sale, espèces de pépins de tomate collés au sèche-serviettes (serviettes trouées elles aussi). Très désuet. Bouilloire dans le même état que la bouche d’un corsaire… nous ne l’avons pas utilisée… C’était répugnant. Je n’avais qu’une idée en tête : y rester le moins longtemps possible.

Location is excellent. Carpet in room was old and stained. There was mold in and around the shower in our room. Breakfast was subpar. Even the chocolate croissant was not good- in France!!!

Location, you couldn't want better. The views from the restaurant are fabulous, as was the meal. Service and attention within the rooftop restaurant and breakfast restaurant was impeccable. Really loved the decor in the dining areas and bar. Now for the bedroom. Paid for a superior room with a sea view. The sea view we got but nothing near a superior room. Although nicely decorated, the biggest let down was the bed linen. Worn to the point where it was full of holes and with no attempt to conceal them. Duvet cover with holes and bedsheets a hole just below the pillow. This was the biggest let down to this hotel. The hotel Obviously not striving to gain more stars. Overall, the stay was comfortable and pleasant with warm demeanored staff.

Needs a good housekeeping. Our room smelled stale when we checked in. Opened the windows and aired it out. The bed was worn thin. Deep indentations in the mattress. Carpet was old and dirty. Shower control for bath and shower water direction was broken. Soap dispenser was broken. No toilet paper. Just paper squares

Desk staff snotty. Misleading advertising saying parking is available (only if you reserve it when room is reserved). Bathroom was dirty. Mould in showers and in sink. Looked like there was stool or urine on the wall near paper dispenser. Door knobs filthy. Light bulbs burnt out.

The location is perfect being right inside the city walls & situated in the heart of the restaurant district. It’s a beautiful building with fantastic views. Disappointing was the weak to non-existent Wi Fi signal, coupled with no cell service for Verizon. Also odd is there is no standing shower, although there is a shower which can be used sitting in the tub.

Personnel très accueillant et très agréable, à l'écoute des clients, notamment la personne à l'accueil en soirée. La chambre était ok : literie confortable mais le reste du mobilier est assez ancien. Les joints de la salle de bain ainsi que la baignoire auraient besoin d'un bon coup de neuf. L'isolation par contre n'est vraiment pas bonne. On a pu entendre de nombreux bruits venant des chambres voisines.

It's a nice hotel. Maybe a little overpriced. The view couldn't be beat except for my window was at the same level as the rampart walls across the street so all the tourists had a perfect view into my room and bed. The building feels a bit old and could use an update. But still overall a good stay. The WiFi was not the best.

Our 2nd time back at the hotel, hoping to make it our go-to option when in St Malo as the location is hard to beat. Secure parking best booked separately at nearby underground car park but walkable to hotel. This time we were assigned a room that was in really poor condition with stained walls and carpets and overall sense of uncleanliness which we just couldn’t accept. But we were quickly moved to a newer room by reception which we had to wait to be cleaned first, and this was worlds apart, felt like being in a different hotel! Would only stay again if we can somehow ensure we get this room again.

I had a disappointing experience during my stay. I had arranged and paid for an early check-in to move it forward from 15:00 to 12:00 for 40 euros, but when I arrived, I was told it was too late. The reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive, which was frustrating. The issues didn’t stop there. I had also pre-arranged parking, only to find out that it was located at another hotel, and the space reserved for me was too small for my car. I managed to find parking within the city walls, but I was told it might be a tow zone. When I asked reception if they could check, they refused and instead told me to park outside the walls of Saint-Malo at an additional cost of 40 euros—despite the fact that I had already paid for internal parking. To top it off, the reception area had an unpleasant odor, and the room was disappointing, with worn sheets, tired carpeting, and visible marks on the walls. The whole place felt rundown and in need of refurbishment. Not the start to my weekend break that I expected, and overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Amazing location but that’s about it. St Malo is a lovely place, highly recommended. But choose a different hotel. We arrived at check in time but our room was not ready. We were told someone would bring us our keys in 15 minutes and asked to wait. The sofa we waited on was very broken. After 20 minutes no one had come over to us, so I rejoined the check in queue. We were “upgraded” to a junior suite. The room was very stuffy, the carpet and walls stained. The bed was 2 singles out together but with a very hard big lump between the 2 mattresses. There was a thermostat and air con unit on the wall but when turning this on it came up with an error message. I went to reception to tell them and ask if they could fix it, but the answer was that the room we have does not have air con. I was able to get a small desk fan from them thankfully. The shower is over the middle of the bath at waist height, so not over head without holding it yourself. Furniture also stained & old. Rooms in much need of an upgrade. For £250 on our wedding anniversary it was quite disappointing for the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel during Bastille Day. The location was absolutely perfect — right in the heart of it all. We enjoyed wonderful live entertainment in the restaurant downstairs, delicious food and drinks, and then strolled along the ocean walk to watch the spectacular fireworks display celebrating France’s national day. An unforgettable experience. Our room had a lovely view of the beach and a small fortress out in the sea. The room itself was in great condition with a very comfortable bed. The staff were both friendly and accommodating. On top of that, the hotel interior was stylish — above average, for sure. Highly recommended! Note: If you’re arriving by car, be aware that the streets are narrow, it can be crowded, and parking is limited. However, there’s an underground parking facility just nearby.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the Intro Muros and very close to the tourist information and bus stops. I was disappointed with the size of the family room, compared with the pictures on the website. Also, we were right on the front of the hotel, above the main eating area, which we didn't mind, but some families may not like as it does stay noisy outside quite late on. Storage areas in the room were good and having the toilet separate to the bathroom was handy. We had very little interaction with hotel staff but the staff on reception were welcoming and friendly. However, on one of our days the cleaners cleaned our room but didn't empty the bins, which when we mentioned to the reception staff, were simply given bags to put the rubbish in and had to take it down ourselves (not the end of the world, I know, but if you're paying higher end it's not what you expect) Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel lovely room. The breakfast was not very good. The coffee machine was filthy. Stay far far away from the restaurant Le 5 which is on the rooftop. The service was horrendous. The waiter asked my husband if he wanted more bread, he said yes and gave him my son’s plate with the leftover bread on it. I ordered oysters and there were bits of shells in each, my main course baked fish was inedible. Very expensive too. Our room had a great view overlooking the water. I would highly recommend staying at the hotel. Just don’t eat there.

Excellent location. Beautiful town with numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel is beautifully decorated and is swell preserved piece of history. Breakfast was an issue though…. Served from 7am to 10am, yet when we arrived for breakfast at 8:50 all the hot food was finished. This matter was resolved with a refund but was very disappointing.

Chambre propre. Un peu vieillotte au niveau tapisserie et déco mais qui reste dans le style de l’hôtel qui a une histoire. Le personnel est agréable et efficace. Le petit déjeuner ainsi que le restaurant le 5, très bons. Hôtel bien situé, très proche d’un parking, face aux remparts.

The bedroom was comfortable, the bed faced the french windows which opened up to a view of the ramparts and the sea. The bed was very comfortable and there was an ensuite. Hotel located centrally in the heart of one of the main squares, convient for shops, accessing the ranparts and the port. It has a wonderful restaurant attached.
