Albany House

Albany House is on a nice street in Dublin not far from visitor attractions. Bedrooms are lovely although smaller than pics, there is no drawer space in the rooms. The room gets very warm at night, fan provided. Couldn’t open the window which there are 2 of. Inside one opens but other never so no fresh air coming into room. Bathroom is lovely and the towels are fluffy and a decent size!! Don’t see the point in the 2 chairs as take up room. Hotels.com advertise there is a safe in the room, there is NOT. No single safes downstairs either just a safe at reception should you choose to use it. Had we known this we would NOT have booked the hotel, the reason we booked this hotel was it stated there was a safe in room which we look for when travelling. The hallways are dated compared to rooms and could be updated. We were in room 507 which is 80 stairs up on the 4th floor so if you’re not feeling energetic best ask for room on lower floor as there are no lifts. There is no luggage room either and bags are stored in reception at window area. The staff are pleasant however you cannot tell staff from guests as no set uniform apart from being black and white some wear leggings and T-shirt. Breakfast is ok. Continental, cereals, breads, fruit,pastries, cheese, ham and you are offered toast. Plenty places to eat round about. The Dublin express bus from airport stops 5-10mins round corner from hotel which is ideal. A return ticket is around €18ppand no set return date.

Great location and great price. I had to carry my luggage up 3 sets of steps and that was tricky. The internet did not work in my room, I spoke to the receptionist to let them know, and never got better. We were near the public transit, and heard that all night. Breakfast was limited.

Really great location, perfect for exploring the city. The room was very big and clean and had everything I needed. My only comment would be that there wasn't any secure place to store my luggage on my final day (after I'd checked out). The Dublin Express bus stop to/from the airport is also just around the corner which was really convenient

Parken nur im Parkhaus in der Nähe möglich aber mit Hotelrabatt. Frühstück sehr gut.Lage sehr zentral.

The price was great and it was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go to in Dublin. The only drawback was there was no lift/elevator. But would definitely stay there again.

To be honest the only thing I didn’t like was the fact there was no AC. Some days in Dublin was very hot. So when we came back (the window was open), it was very hot in the room. But other than that this hotel is good for a few nights stay.

Very Lovely staff. Dated accommodations. Stairs, no lift. Continental breakfast (toast, croissants, yogurt, fruits, cheese & ham, hard boiled eggs) quite noisy till 3-4 am with “Dicey’s Gardens” right across the street. Light sleepers may want to pass.

Stayed one night in a king suite. Although very large and clean, it was quite dated, old carpet, very old uncomfortable couch and chairs. Bed was not a king, but a queen and a single in same room. Shower temperature fluctuated hot and cold. Wifi was not good and tv did not have bluetooth for wireless display. It is in a very nice area close to everything, but we were disappointed with our room.

Terrific location, walkable but we found it quiet (backside window). Lovely room as shown in photos. Comfortable bed and good daily room service. Downside was we were on the 5th floor and there is no elevator! A deal breaker for some. Also there is no air conditioning and it was extremely hot in our room especially on the first couple nights of our stay. Luckily there was a small fan in the room. Even with these negative aspects I would still stay there again.

Fui contactado tan solo un día antes de mi llegada pero me encontraba viajando por lo que no vi el correo a tiempo para responder y cuando llegamos (ya de madrugada) no había nadie en recepción, marqué a la propiedad y como nos encontrábamos dentro escuchamos el teléfono sonar. Decidí contactar a través de Expedia quienes trataron de contactar al hotel pero sin suerte, tuvimos que esperar varios minutos. Ya en comunicación con expedia me preguntan si avise de mi llegada tardía pero la propiedad muestra check in 24 hras por lo que no tenía porque avisar mi horario de llegada. Por otro lado, mi confirmación de reservación tenía desayuno continental incluido y en la recepción nos indicaron que teníamos que pagarlo, que ese error siempre les pasa con Expedia. Después de revisar a través de chat, nos indican que podemos tomarlo pero pagando 1 desayuno por noche para después solicitar el reembolso. Decidimos mejor desayunar en otro lugar. En cuanto a limpieza muy mal, solo tendian las camas. El hotel está bien ubicado pero recomendaría buscar otras opciones.

Good location, but the room did not have hot water. The bathroom sink drain plug was stuck. The padded headboard was ripped. Room was small and cramped. Carpets in hallway need to be updated. Staff was friendly and helpful, but this hotel needs updating.

Parking is about .5-1 mile away. When we got to the Albany House we had to go up about 6 stairs to get in, then down 2 separate flights of stairs, then through 3 doors to get to our room... all while pushing a stroller, 2 backpacks, 2 luggage bags. Staff did not offer to help with luggage or assist us with anything. We requested a pack n play crib for our baby and it was too dirty to use. We also got a fan out because the room was a bit warm and it was covered in dust. Location of the Albany House was good, room was pretty, free breakfast is nice. Breakfast was a simple buffet - yogurt, cereal, juice, etc.

Top two things I care about for a stay— cleanliness and safety. The place was very safe. The cleanliness was pretty good. Older building, so there’s that. I would have given this place more stars but we had a room that was toward the street and it was noisy at night. They offered to move us to a back room but it didn’t have the right bed situation. The staff was amazing though and the breakfast was delish.

The room had bad light wiring and we couldn't turn turn the main light without turning off as well the reading lights. The matter gave us a bit of a stiff back. For those reasons I would say it is average. Not bad, not perfect. Cheap for the overall location and that was the main reason we booked it. Forgot to mention it is close to Airport express bus.

The rooms have clearly been recently redone to a high standard. The room we were in was not huge but were well sized with very high ceilings. The bathroom was was big with a large shower. Overall, it was perfect for our stay!

In terms of value and location, this hotel is wonderful. The staff were lovely. The room and common areas were clean. Noise from outside was not an issue for room 301. My two issues were temperature-related. The bedding is quite heavy and hot. A table top fan is provided but it wasn’t quite enough for me. And then the water never truly got hot, only lukewarm. One morning of my stay, there was no hot water available.

The room given was on the 5th Floor without elevator. When asked the lady upfront to have someone help us with the luggage to take up the stairs - she abruptly and rudely said "noone is available". Will not stay at this hotel again.

Albany House was great! It is in an old townhouse but my room had recently been renovated. It was spacious and had a big bed. The breakfast spread was great. The 24-concierge was always helpful. The building is close to Camden Street nightlife, St Stephen’s Green, and Dublin City centre. Highly recommended!

My mother and grandmother stayed here for the weekend and both said all staff were so amazing, helpful, and friendly with them. My granny is 90 and they couldn’t do more for her. We will 100% be using Albany House again and recommending to anyone who asks about staying in Dublin City centre.

Lovely building but the lack of any air-conditioning meant that one had to leave the window open when it was hot. In a front-facing room the noise of the trams was acceptable, the noise of the nightclub opposite emptying at 3:30 am was not.

I’ve stayed here several times. The Dublin Express dropped you off down the street you can easily walk to st. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street. The breakfast is lovely, staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. They just added a lift (elevator). I will be back and I always recommend this hotel for Dublin.

Nice old property in central Dublin. Easy walking distance. Noisy in the area and no aircon so windows open. Breakfast was good.

This is an excellent location. The shower didn't maintain temperature. Across the street is a night club bumping music every night.

The Albany House was easily accessible to all the areas for sight seeing. The only drawback is that there are a few clubs nearby and it can be noisy in the wee hours if you're a light sleeper.

Property is close to city center and thus tourist sites, pubs, restaurants, shopping.

Great older property. No lifts so we had to carry luggage up to third floor. Ask for rooms on back of hotel-nightclubs are across the street with many people and club music bumping until 3am.

Perfect location for the Iveagh Gardens!

The property is very nicely converted and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was filling and plentiful, fresh and varied. I had a lovely bedroom in the basement at the back of the property. Silent. The downside for my friends upstairs at the front of the property was being kept awake until 3.00 am by revellers in bars opposite. Book a room “ with no view”.

Beautiful property. Room smallish but nicely decorated. Included a small table, two chairs, a make up tabe and tea/coffee service. The people at the desk were wonderful! They were at the ready with information about where to get food where to catch the bus to the airport. The location is great. It is walking distance to Museums and shopping. There are restaurants on Chatham St, one short block away. The 783 Dublin Express, to and from the airport, is a short walk (5 min). The breakfast is much better than the words "continental breakfast" would imply. On our visit, breakfast included bread, croissants, little danish, various cheeses, ham and coffee (or tea). It is definitely worth the price.

Very basic hotel in Dublin, especially shower. Hot water was intermittent and even then it wasn’t very warm. Only cold options for breakfast which is strange. Not what you expect when you pay £200 for 1 night.

Breakfast is very good n free. Staff are very nice n accommodating especially the kitchen staff serving breakfast.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut, da sehr zentral gelegen. Der Service des "Frühstücksteams" war sehr gut und das Frühstück vielfältig und ausreichend. Leider war der Frühstücksraum für die vielen Gäste viel zu klein. Die Übernachtung kostete zwischen 156,00€ und 197,00€ die Nacht. Das Zimmer war ca. 13qm groß und sauber. Es hatte jedoch nur ein schmales Fenster, eine Kleiderstange mit einigen Bügeln. Darunter war ein Tisch mit 2 Sesseln, so dass man längere Sachen schlecht aufhängen konnte. Es gab keinen Schrank, keine Kommode, kein Regal um Sachen abzulegen. Auch gab es keine Haken, um etwas aufhängen zu können. Das Zimmer befand sich in der 4. Etage, ohne Lift. Der Grundriss und die Lage des Zimmers legen nahe, dass es sich einst vielleicht um einen Abstell- oder Serviceraum gehandelt hat. Auch wenn Hotelpreise in Dublin und insbesondere zu Feiertagen teuer sind, ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, zumal für ein 3-Sterne-Hotel, definitiv mangelhaft! Zudem wurde gerade das Treppenhaus gestrichen und ein intensiver Farbgeruch war nicht nur im Treppenhaus sondern auch im Zimmer vorzufinden. Das hätte man doch sicherlich auch vorher ausführen können und nicht zu einer Zeit, wenn das Hotel voller Gäste ist. Leider bekam man von der Rezeption kaum Hilfe, obwohl die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich waren. Für den Preis bekommt man in Dublin auf jeden Fall ein viel besseres Hotel.
