Rooms are comfortable. Not much space to sit but thats not what the room is there for. I was in an 8 pod with its own bathroom. People were nice about sharing. Laundry facility only takes coins but i was prepared. Bar/socialising area was always doing something fun every night. Great hostel thats close to train station and bus stops.

Great location and really modern capsule hostel. Really friendly service from staff and felt safe in the hostel with security on the door in the evenings and codes rather than keys. Free, good WiFi and nice bar on site. Unfortunately the beds in the capsules were really uncomfortable with a bad pillow, hard mattress and felt a bit tight for space. There also wasn’t a plug socket in the capsule either, only a USB slot. The lockers were spacious but had a bit of a confusing locking mechanism which needed resetting by staff. Quite dirty in the hostel dorm and showers smelt pretty grim. Lack of kitchen facilities too.

Ao resevar dizia que tinha estacionamento disponivel, mas nao tem. Nao pode nem parar na rua do hotel. O que nos ofereceram foi o estacionamento da estacao de metro cerca de uns 600m. Nao é legal esta caminhada na chuva e frio com temperatura negativa. As fotos do banheiro nao condiziam com a realidade. Cafe da manhã com poucas opcoes mas tudo bem fresquinho

I was only in Dublin for a very brief stay, and chose the Jacobs Inn because of its proximity to public transport and multiple options for dead-of-night airport rides. I didn’t get the chance to really interact or hang out with anyone because I was only in Dublin for ~34 hours (half of which being sleep), but the location seemed to draw a great mix of folks from all over. There was plenty of activity at the bar as well as a few events organized. I didn’t partake, but there seemed to be plenty of options at breakfast. Staff was very friendly and made for a smooth check-in process. They were available for any questions, and the cleaning crew was on their game. While not entirely uncommon, it is important to know that towels are not included and come at a cost of €2.50 (with free replacements). The facility itself was clean and well organized, and I found the sleep pods to be as well-appointed as a sleep pod could be (a shelf, multiple lighting options, and a couple usb-a ports. There was a locker and a cubby directly underneath my pod, power outlets nearby, and a full en-suite bathroom (with full gendered facilities down the hall). I don’t always stay in hostels, but would absolutely give future consideration to the Jacobs Inn.

I felt at ease and secure at Jacob's Inn. ONE problem subsisted INSIDE thé hostel. Very noisy between dormitories. Partying going on untill 2am. Also a few checkups need to be done on évacuation pipes and creaky Doors

Everything is good except that there’s no kitchen.

In der Hotelbeschreibung wurden Parkplätze angegeben. Leider waren am Hotel überhaupt keine Parkplätze verfügbar und wir mussten ca 1km entfernt auf eigene Kosten am Bahnhof parken. Das war leider enttäuschend für uns, da wir das Hotel mit unserem Leihwagen aufgrund der beschriebenen Parkplätze ausgewählt haben. Hevorzuheben ist, das uns vom Kundenservice von Hotel.com die Parkkosten erstattet wurden. Für Reisende mit Leihwagen würde ich diese Unterkunft nicht empfehlen

bon hébergement, nous étions côté cour ce qui a limité le bruit mais je pense que côté rue cela devait être bruyant. Sinon la chambre était confortable et le personnel très gentil et aimable. Le petit déjeuner à volonté était très bien. Il est possible de laisser sa valise dans des casiers payants.

I stayed in the pods and forgot about the fan rental option so I think visitors need to either remember to ask, or staff should remember to offer because we were sweating in those little things. However, they were comfortable, there were lockers, bathrooms were clean, the common area near reception was nice and the restaurant/bar had a cool vibe. There is a bus station, train station, and a cool bar around the corner named Brew Dock. I would stay again but with my own fan or in a private room. Looks like they also offer pub crawls and laundry facility.

Die Unterkunft hat eine tolle Lage, ist modern sowie stylish (Hotelbar, Zimmer...) eingerichtet und auch sonst fühlte ich mich dort gut aufgehoben. Bei Problemen wurde mir immer freundlich weitergeholfen. Die Pods zum schlafen fand ich wirklich sehr nice! Den einzigen Minuspunkt, den ich hier leider vergeben würde: das Bad hätte öfters und gründlicher sauber gemacht werden können - an der Dusche war nichts zu beanstanden, aber der Boden und die Flächen rund um die Waschbecken waren nicht sauber.

Good place. Some of The bed sheets were dirty when we arrived but the staff changed them out within the hour.

My stay at Jacobs Inn was really great! The rooms and bathrooms were really clean and the bed was comfortable. The pods were great for privacy as well. I did find that the shower in the ensuite of the room wasn’t very good and seemed to flood the bathroom everytime it was used, so I opted to use the main showers and they were much better. The menu at the bar downstairs said there were vegetarian options available but when I went down and asked one night I was told that they were doing tacos so I could have a taco with just the lettuce and cheese? So an improvement on the veg options would be great. I would stay again and would recommend to others.

A nice clean hostel, and good option for staying in Dublin. The pods were nice and the room was clean. The bathroom was very spacious. However, the water in the sinks and shower only ran for about 10-15 seconds. It made it excessively difficult to take a shower. You had to either hold the shower knob down, or press it literally every 5-10 seconds. The location of the hostel was ok, the area was a little dodgy. Definitely a lot of homeless wandering in that area. It did have very close train/tram stations. Pretty easy walk into the main parts of the city too. You also had to pay quite a bit for luggage storage on early arrival/late departure. I had to pay over 5 euros for about an hour and a half of storage. Majority of hostels I’ve stayed in have had free storage rooms. There were certainly some noisy crowds within the hostel, but thankfully my room was pretty quiet. Overall pretty solid hostel option for Dublin, definitely better than some of the others in the area.

The room was facing the metro line for which they were excavating all night long. This meant extremely loud noises directly into our room all night; even with the window closed. They charged us when we arrived even though we had already paid through Expedia. The pillows offered are essentially non existent. We had better luck laying on our shoulders which is what ended up happening. The blankets are a meter wide if that. Staff didn’t seem to know anything, only get paid to sit at the front desk. We booked a private room to sleep comfortably and did not sleep a wink. It was also boiling hot in the room but we obviously couldn’t open the window because the noise. PLEASE do not listen to the good reviews and if you want sleep go somewhere else. This is probably a great spot for someone in their early 20’s who gets wasted and sleeps through everything.

If you visit in the summer be prepared for the heat. The windows don’t open much and it was hot in the room. They put a small table top fan in the 10 bunk room as if it did anything much. Can’t sleep with the bunk curtain closed as you’ll just burn up. Crazy to not have any sort of A/C in the rooms.

There was no power socket in a pod. It could use only usb-A in a pod, which is out-dated. It needs to be replaced by usb-C, otherwise people cannot recharge their phones or other devices. Room cleaning was too early. They said room cleaning starts at 10am even though the checkout is 11am. So, you should be prepared by 10am. This totally doesn’t make sense. While they were cleaning, there was no room to pack my bag, so I had to ask the cleaning people to leave my room. The hostel should change the checkout time to be 10am. Except these two, everything was nice. It was quite a modern facility. Thanks to a curtain for each pod, privacy can be safely kept. A locker is given to each person.

Pros: Pod-style, beds are comfortable, rooms are big, each pod has its own locker. Affordable for Dublin standards. Cons: Like any other hostel, expect noises (some obnoxious young people making unnecessary loud noise outside late at night) and minimal service (bring everything on your own or purchase some at the market). Common area can get crowded. The WiFi is very slow, I ended up using my own cellular data. There are only USB outlets in the pods. Pillows are old. Overall, while it may need some updating, it’s good for a hostel if you just need a place to crash.

I liked the pods although they can get a bit warm.

The train station and Garda stations are both across the street so there is a decent amount of noise if you aren't an early riser. Be sure to ask for earplugs. The facilities are modern, clean and the private rooms are spacious for the price! The breakfast in the morning is complementary and helps fill your belly before a day in Dublin.

All of the doors slam shut so good luck getting any sleep here. The rooms were so warm almost impossible to sleep especially in an upper pod. The shower was not clean and not draining properly until the last day of my stay. The check in staff could definitely be friendlier. Otherwise location is good, very convenient/close to transportation and area is walkable.

10 bed dorm nice to have curtain and charging point. Room did get a little hot as one window only opened a small amount. Would stay again very organised. Nice to be able to leave bags.

We stayed in a private twin. It was great other than the loud train. The most comfortable beds, clean rooms, the staff was helpful. We felt safe there. The only thing is we noticed the doors didn’t close all the way sometimes and you need to give it a good tug to ensure it was shut. Also for the private rooms we would’ve preferred some amenities like a hair dryer or tv but we would totally stay here again!

The property is great. My issues were what one expects when going to a hostel, namely others snoring and keeping me awake. The front staff were incredibly helpful, helping me to book tours. Shout out to the gentleman who helped me book the Sheep Dog presentation. Fantastic. I really wish I had planned this trip better. I needed more time in Dublin. Latroupe has become my go to for my next trip.

The hostel was very nice and had a cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, the lockers in your room would constantly stop working and either lock you out or lock all of your stuff in. Multiple times we'd have to go out and ask someone to unlock it. We had to ask 3 times before someone would finally come in to let us get our stuff out. The next time it happened we also had to sit and wait for a staff member to take 5 seconds to punch in a code (our room was right next to the front desk basically). It really made the experience unfortunate as it postponed our travels in the day and they didn't really seem to care that all of our stuff was locked inside. I don't recommend staying here unless you either don't care about locking up your belongings or don't care if they take forever to let you get them back.

I booked a 4 room and didn’t receive that. The lady behind me booked an 8 room and got into a 4 room. Be careful what you book and pay for because they don’t seem to uphold it. I was promised a refund that never came.

Arthur at front desk was very professional & pleasant. He was helpful with first timer to Dublin in how to get bus card, areas to visit and eat. The housekeeping staff work exceptionally hard.

Cons: Check in should have been the first clue that something was off about this place. Depending on who checks you is a good indication of what information you will learn about the place. They wait on the dot to tell you that you can be check in at 3. Then a line stacks up at 3. They let you put ur stuff in storage early but they charge extra for lockers or you can leave ur stuff out. Anyone can walk through. 

Day 1 Pods/Sleeping room was meltingly hot I found out 3 days later you can get a fan for an extra deposit of $20.

Day 2 around 3am someone is drunk and pukes in their pod. They continue to puke and pass out. I was concern and just trying to be nice so I tried to make sure this man was ok. After being woken up this way I went down stairs to report it because I did’t want the person to die in their own vomit. They said someone would check in on them but never did. In morning the cleaning people come in but “can’t legally” open the screen doors to check which pod it was. Find out later talking to others in the same room it was the pod below me. He was rude to other guests and was causing issues in the room. 

Day 3 Went to washer and dryer. At first they let me take coins out with a credit card. Was able to happily do wash and dry it. 3 eros washer 4 eros dryer

Day 4 Found out through talking to other people staying there that there are other showers that can be used on the first Female showers and second floors male showers. Rest of the review on goggle. lol

This was my first time experiencing a Hostel. The property was clean. The staff was helpful. They even emailed me that I left my eyeglasses there. The one thing that made me uncomfortable was that they chose to place me, a woman traveling alone, in a room with two men. To be fair, they were great gentlemen. The only thing that drove me crazy was the snoring. It wasn’t the actual bunk mates. It was the thought process of not putting me in a room with at least one other woman or putting a woman in the room with me.

Can not fault facilities, experience and especially the staff. Incredibly accommodating in all aspects

Easy to use, great location, walked to downtown, we got our own room but fun to see backpacking guests.

Hostel was pretty nice. It's not located in a good area as it is dark and dirty during the night. But it's close to the city center in a walkable distance. There are night shows and good music in the ground floor.

This hostel is probably the best one in Dublin (I have stayed in most of them). The pod beds give you a bit of privacy while still getting the hostel experience. You are directly beside both the luas and train station so there is no walking needed to access transport and get around. It’s also very quick to get to the centre of town from the location.

Had all i need. Asked for a bottom bunk before in advance, didn‘t got an answer but was taken into my booking. Really central! And again, had all i need.

Super clean and felt safe. Amazingly close to Connelly Station and other modes of transportation. Also just a quick 15-20 minute walk to a lot of places you would like to go/popular areas of town. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a great time at the hostel , thanks to the ladies at the reception who helped me until i could find a charger that worked for my phone ! Met some cool people and loved the breakfast !

Sleeping quarter was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. Just a bit of noise with public transportation and door slammed when existing the dormitory.

My first experience of a hostel. The whole place was clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast was quite limited. Bread, eggs, sausages and hash browns. No bacon, black pudding or white pudding (something that Ireland appears to be famous for). My only complaint comes with the people who were in my room. One of whom had set an alarm each morning and they either continued to sleep through it or had left their phone in the pod while they were in the toilet. Staff were very polite and very helpful when needed.

That night, we had two fire drill because one of the guest played with the red button and someone smoked in the toilet of the room. The bar was closed. There was only one staff member to manage all of this so I can only congratulate this person. It is usually better.

Everywhere looked clean and the staff were very helpfull. Our rooms were boiling hot, made it uncomfortable to sleep. Lockers are cheap enough to rent if you wanted to drop off your bags before check-in. Some of us left them on the floor in the locker room without any issues. Walking to the city centre towards the bars only took around 15 minutes, was easy to navigate. Bar at the hostel has a good variety of drinks. Breakfast buffet was delicious, highly recommend.
