Everything, this was not a five star star hotel. More like 1 star. Dirty not renovated in maybe 20 years and expensive looking at what you got. Like a bad bed and breakfast. Then they said the parking was free and tried to charge us for valet parking. Terrible.

They are doing renovations in the whole building. We walked into our room and it smelled musty and everything was damp. We sat on the bed and felt like the sheets were wet. The room was extremely humid and the AC didn't work. We tried to call to the front desk and the phone didn't work. The food and drinks at the bar were not great. We waited an hour for pizza and boneless wings. We stayed at two other much less expensive places on our trip that was much better in all ways. We expected at least that from a Marriot.

This was a great hotel in the middle of everything in San Jose. The rooms were clean, although the one we stayed in did have a musty smell. The breakfast was great. The staff was top notch. Parking was easy. The area around the hotel was good. This is the middle of a huge city, so there are always big city issues. We would stay at this hotel again.

The location is great. Some of the employees are very helpful and friendly. The receptionist who works in the morning was very helpful and very pleasant. The guy who works in the bar was very friendly and helpful. The same goes to the bellman working in the morning.

Hotel is very old. Rooms are set to be remodeled next year and boy do they need it. Old carpet, smells of mold. Breakfast was so so, didn’t have enough dishes and fruit was sad. Lobby was nice and staff was friendly. We were supposed to stay 5 nights but checked out after one and went elsewhere. Not a great part of town either.

I stayed 2 nights at the Delta Aurola with my family. The staff and their client service approach were remarkable. The Delta Aurola loses points in terms of cleanliness and comfort. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, there was a strong smell of damp and humidity. The rooms and halls have carpets, which do not help. We had to ask for a room change, and still, we felt like we were covered in humid sheets despite the AC and temperature control. Also, the place needs renovations as the installations were outdated, and some were mouldy. The buffet was good. Again, the service was friendly, very helpful and always with a smile.

Two days here no hot water and no competition for the inconvenience. No notification of any repairs. After three cold showers I have to say my patience has run out. I will post my bad experience to my 50000 subscribers. This is the first bad review I will sadly be doing…. Just a bad experience over all and I had to endure the cold shoulder not to stink like this hotel apparently intended for me.

Mal, muy mal. El desayuno terrible la ubicación, sin donde poder sentarse, mesas sin arreglar. Poco surtido para el precio. Room service pésimo, 40 minutos para contestar el teléfono, el pedido incompleto. En la habitación una cucaracha, el lavamanos no salía el agua sucia. La televisión no funcionaba, pedí ayuda y 2 horas para q mantenimiento subiera a la habitación. En conclusión mal, muy mal.

The room smelled. The bathroom could be cleaned better. A hair was left on the soap dish. It needs better ventilation because it looks like mold is growing between the tiles. And the bathtub mat should be replaced, old and dirty looking. Remember to have a copy that states you get free breakfast. We had to prove it. On the positive side the lobby is beautiful and the valet and tour guide were helpful. The downtown location is walkable.

La habitación huele mal, no hay extractor de olores en el baño, las ventanas a la calle estaban muy sucias, manchadas con excrementos de pajaro. Las camas si estaban bastente bien, confortables, limpias. We had a wonderful room on the 16 th floor with a gorgeous view all over san jose. Beds were super comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is right across the street from a pretty little park and very easy walking distance to the major museums we visited. We also walked to the interesting central market, where we bought ourselves flowers for our room . The sidewalks are very uneven in san jose and we never tried walking at night , but had dinner at the hotel. The breakfast that came with the room was a really fabulous buffet that had everything one could want, hot and cold. Dinners at the hotel were generously sized so by the second night we knew how to order better. We didn’t try the pool but it looked inviting if a bit cool. I definitely would stay at this hotel again.

Belle grande chambre avec un lit king confortable au 10 ieme étage et vue sur la ville. C'était bien mais un peu humide. Mais il faut dire que tout est humide au Costa Rica. Salle de bain correcte et pomme de douche qui fonctionne très bien. Bon buffet déjeuner avec du choix mais tout ça a un prix. Il y a des restaurants autour nais il faut marcher un peu. À distance de marche une dizaine de minutes il y a la rue principale avec les magasins. Il y a aussi pas loin le chibatown qui est quand assez grand.

The lobby is very nice. Other than that do not stay here. The air conditioner has 2 speed freeze or super hot, they do not tell anything. The tv an internet when out . They told me that they sent a repair mem . They are lying , I ask for the repairmen by the lobby because the are lying about everything. Breakfast was horrible everything was cold. Finally they gave a new room. Is like the use their money in the lobby to impress people. Do not get fool.

The location was ideal for getting around San José. Shopping and Cultural aspects were all within walking distance. The area felt safe, and you could easily traverse at night. The hotel dining left a lot to be desired, and more menu options or daily adjustments to the menu would be an asset.

In front there is a nice small park area with a mini mart slash bakery right next to it. All good restaurants close early for food. Unless you are using Uber Eats it’s hard to find a decent place after 10pm

The location near the Central Market and National Theater was great. The woman who cleaned my room (Ana) was wonderful. The people who worked at the front desk were kind and helpful. The hotel restaurant was good and cafes and restaurants and stores were within a short walk from the hotel. I liked the gym although it might be good to add another treadmill eventually. (There is currently only one treadmill.) my room was large and my bed was excellent for sleeping. I would love to return to this hotel.

New to Costa Rica, this Delta hotel was perfect. The staff were kind and friendly. The bartender, Ian, served me a glass of wine three times the size I'd get in the states. The breakfast choices were too numerous to list. What a great find!
