Lovely retro/hipster property across the street from the beach, with rooftop patio. Small pool for a quick dip. Two restaurants and a bar with excellent food and drink. We didn’t go anywhere else!

This hotel plays loud music by the pool Until 1am and has vey bright lights outside your room. Be prepared not to sleep Due to light and noise. Staff is rude - entitled hipster wanna bees. Stay away from this place its a 1950s hotel with dirty showers a dirty pool and a rude staff…do yourself a favor and stay away

Such a nice hotel, they did a wonderful job, renovating it and keeping it original touch!! Great little restaurant, rooftop, hang out area, great pool, fun location, great place for a little weekend getaway highly recommended and will be coming back

Booked two rooms together for a girls weekend. When we arrived there was zero parking available and were told there was a wedding that evening and to park on the surrounding streets or wherever we could find parking. Not a great welcome to the property. We check in and are told our rooms aren’t together and are at opposite ends of the building, even though booked together. We had planned to just eat at The Fancy that evening and enjoy the hotel. We were then tthe Fancy was closed as was the upstairs rooftop area because of the wedding. We tried to go upstairs to get drinks and were quickly told they were hosting a wedding. The entire lobby and poolside deck area were also not available due to the wedding. Why are we staying here if we don’t have access to any of the hotel amenities. My friends were all upset but we had no other choice but to stay. They did offer to treat us to brunch which was good and offered to reimburse us 15% of our room. Rooms are cute, the brunch and coffee at The Fancy were good, cocktails were good but super expensive the pool looked very dirty. We will not be back and sadly would not recommend this place. If you have a wedding booked then you should block the entire hotel or at least give customers a heads up that nothing will be available for them to use even though you are paying for it. This place is not cheap & were so excited because it looked fun and cute for a girls trip. Never got reimbursed for part of the room. Super disappointing!

No parkings

Very neat 1960's vibe to the place. Great pool and floats. The lobby is very nice. Roof bar is very cool and wish I had more time to spend up there with the lovely sea breeze. On the negative, parking a full size truck can be a real squeeze as the lot is real small and limited availability. Also room 112 is a poor choice so avoid it if you can. The back locked gate is big and metal. so every in and out makes a LOUD slam which you will hear and feel in the room. esp bad in the AM as people check out .... slam ... slam ... slam there will be no sleeping in!

The Hotel was just wonderful. Terrific location on the sea wall. It is an older property that is modern and well maintained Staff were awesome The beds were so comfortable Pool area was comfortable and child friendly The rooftop is a great place to take advantage of their live music and happy hour deals. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Very well kept 1960's era hotel with pool, restaurant, and open air bar on the upper deck overlooking the gulf. Does not have elevator. Stairs for 2nd floor access. Quick 2 minute walk to access the beach from the hotel at the traffic light. Convenient location far enough from traffic congestions but close proximity to various types of restaurants, historic museums, aquarium attractions, Pleasure Pier, gift shops, Walmart, Sports Academy, etc.

The hotel is very small and cute. It's a remodel of the previous hotel. I accidentally spilled water and used a towel to dry it up it was so dirty. The floors don't get mopped. Upon check in, we were advised that Expedia doesn't include the $10 per person resort fee. It's hardly a resort. I, read over the website and saw that outside food and drinks were not allowed. We saw people bringing in outside food and alcohol. A pool day with drinks and a basket of fries was $115. That wasn't including the $40 bucket of Ultra that my husband purchased separately. We tried the food and had cocktails offered during our stay. They were mid. We had dinner and breakfast outside of the hotel. The hotel is definitely understaffed. We waited for drinks forbat least 10 minutes several times. I stopped using the QR code at the pool for my drinks. It would take 20 minutes. If I ordered at the bar it was 10 minutes. The staff did not know how to answer any of my questions when asked. They were all ver nice and tried to be helpful. The manager or someone came over to address a question we had about reserving pool spots. I asked about bringing in outside food and alcohol and she said no, that it was not allowed. I just said Ok, while I saw it going around me. I'm not a snitch! They get stitches. It is after all, the hotel that should be aware. If we decide to visit again, we know how to do it. The media presentation is not what you get. IMO. This is a "boutique" hotel at best. It needs some work.

Very cute property - loved the overall vibe. Some areas are needing some updates/paint. The rooms are tiny, but comfortable beds. The bathroom could have been cleaner. There was a seashell on the floor when we arrived. The staff is amazing - super friendly and helpful!

Cool atmosphere but not impressed by room. Floor was sandy and shower drain clogged. When having questions about the bill staff member was not the friendliest

The Pool was not totally clean water mercy and poll tile around the pool grease not very clean.Rhe hotel looks really cute inside and it gives a relaxing feeling.Staff super nice from front desk to restaura bar etc, we enjoy it, super close to everything.

The remodeled motel is very cutely themed with mid century modern decor that gives it all the cute points. However, the floors are painted concrete which is dented and cracked with no rug. There was old dirty caulk and grime at the base of the walls. My toilet was very crooked. The staff didn’t know if there was a WiFi password and didn’t get up to help me. They told me to call the desk from my room but I never found a phone in my room. I had to pay a resort fee but it is not a resort. The hotel restaurant was closed both days I stayed. With everything being concrete, other guests were very loud and I could feel other doors slam as I was in the bed. I did not sleep well. The beach was right across the street and access was convenient. Overall I’d say it was just OK.

The hotel has some of the original tiles in the bathroom, but don’t be deterred. This is exceptionally clean and I am a very fussy person. The front desk couldn’t do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They are very friendly. They’ve kept the of the old hotel really well. The pool is especially beautiful.

Very nice hotel with retro vibes. The hotel is remodeled with style and got a cool retro feeling. The staff were amazing and the pool area is really cute. Our room was well temperated and super clean. We had very good breakfast and nice cocktails. They have an amazing playlist. We would come back!

The hotel does not provide the customary cable. It has a service called cast that mirrors your phone. I think I understand that, but I can’t believe everyone does. There was no television connection the whole stay. We were there over Thanksgiving weekend and had wanted to watch a big football game. There was no coffee pot in the room and when my husband went to get coffee, our last warning, there were two other people standing with empty cups waiting because the hotel had not remembered to put coffee on. This was at 8:30 AM on a Sunday morning. The room did not even offer a chair to sit in. There was room for a chair and small table, but none was provided. You just can’t put lipstick on a pig.

Overall, my daughters and I enjoyed the hotel. It's in a great location and has a cool vibe. Room we stayed in was pretty standard and the only room type available when I booked. It was located on the first floor in front of the pool, adjacent to the courtyard. A HUGE negative of this room location is the noise. The hotel starts blasting music around 8:00 a.m. each morning in the courtyard area, even if it's completely empty. We could hear this music clearly enough in our room to make out the words. It plays ALL day so forget sleeping in or taking an afternoon nap. It was beyond annoying. Also, the cleaning ladies are ridiculously loud with their chatting, laughing and door in the mornings...it's as if they're trying to wake people up so they will clear out of the rooms. Again, very annoying. The hotel is cute, the lobby area is cute and the upstairs bar area is a great place to chill but Hotel Lucine really needs to address these noise issues because they can most certainly ruin the stay experience. I will most likely stay here again but will make sure to book a room only on the second floor and away from the courtyard area...of course I know this type of room will certainly cost more. I feel they use the rooms on the first floor by the court yard as the "bargain" rooms...and trust me, we got what we paid for.

Definitely seems geared towards adults (although we did see some kids in the pool). On the quieter end of the Galveston Seawall, so there were fewer restaurants within walking distance...but it was quieter and had a LOT less traffic than other hotels we've stayed at on the Seawall. We'll take that tradeoff any day of the week.

The staff was great. The lounge seemed fine. A lot of people mentioned the bar and the restaurant. My girl and I don't do bars and we wanted local restaurants, so I can't speak to that. The room was very clean. The bed very comfortable, and I am picky. The shower was really great as well. However the room was spartan. Nothing on the wall, not even a fake plant. It was simply a place to crash. Not much in the way of storage for your clothes. No windows, an individual room unit for heat and cooling. Pros and cons for that.

Cute boutique hotel with beach access right across the street. Upstairs deck was pleasant with yacht rock playing, very chill. The room had no carpet, not ideal, but the bed was very comfortable. The mini fridge in our room had a half-drunk bottle of wine in it, so I took it to the front desk to make sure they were aware that it wasn’t us who drank it. They put a note on our folio so as not to charge us. Pool is heated, but not nearly enough to be comfortable on a 65 degree night. More like bath water that’s run its course. We ate dinner at The Fancy. Food was superb but the service was sub-par. It was a nearly empty restaurant yet we were seated right next to another couple. No privacy. We asked to be moved, which they accommodated. Slow service with no checking in on us until the bill was ready. All in all, not worth the price per night. The reviews were great so we opted to stay here instead of Moody Gardens, which was only $12 more. Kicking myself for that one.

The hotel is a lovely but the rooms are getting a bit worn. The beds are comfortable; the food and beverage are thoughtful and on point. We wish there was a chair in the room. We've stayed here several times, we highly recommend it, and love the hotel vibe. The staff is wonderful.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lucine that was torpedoed but the fact that they will not recognize the full funds I prepaid on Expedia and refuse to issue a refund for a measly $143.00 I spent nearly a week there and spend $1,000 in accommodations, another 1K on food and beverage. I was wonderful to the staff, I tipped the staff generously and pre-cleaned my room. My husband and I conserve towels too, we are very high-quality guests, I tried TWICE to resolve the billing while I was at the property but I couldn't get someone with authority at the desk at 6 am. Now I can't get anyone to help me on the phone. What a tragic and petty disappointment to an otherwise wonderful stay. Shame on you, Hotel Lucine.

Before our stay, we were contacted by the Hotel to bid on ab upgrade to a larger room with a view. My bid was accepted and I paid for the upgrade at check in. When we arrived, our room was not ready, so we walked a bit came back 30 minutes later and our room was still not ready. My husband and I sat in the lobby for a while, watching other folks receive their keys. We felt invisible as the staff seemed to notice us at all. When I approached the staff at reception, it was discovered that the room was still not ready. We eventually received our keys at 4:30. My husband was disappointed at the view in our upgraded room which overlooked the roof of the outdoor seating. Overall, the experience was not what I expected.

The staff are the most amazing people that truly love their jobs and working with one another.

Horrible service

I had a nice time at this hotel because I was in good company, but the actual hotel was a disappointment. This is not a 4 star hotel. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything from your hotel room. The pool is cloudy and dirty, and the service is terrible. We had 2 meals comped from the slow service. Will not be returning.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They seemed genuinely happy to see and assist us. Hotel is within walking distance of the beach. The hotel bar overlooks the beach and ocean providing a nice place to hangout.

We had the worst time. Waited over 2 hours to even be able to check in because “it was a holiday weekend and we are a little behind” Then our room wasn’t available for some odd reason so they had to give us a handicap accessible room because that’s all they had. Shower pissed me off. And the water wouldn’t even get hot. Our room was right by the pool and it was so loud. Pool was supposed to close at 10 but they were being loud out there until well after 11. Paid so much money for me and my daughter to have a nice little trip and we basically spent our money on an overhyped MOTEL. Trash. Don’t waste your money.

Great location for beach access. Only few restaurants walking distance. Hotel has dining options but we opted to Uber to The Strand. Rooms clean, modern. Nice touch on having live music Saturday night. Employees were helpful specially Louis. I would stay here again.

Charming little hotel right on the Seawall. Food was good, drinks were good, but parking is terrible.

Location is great if you want easy access to the beach. Staff was very helpful and nice. Very convenient to have restaurant on site. Roof top deck was lovely to have a drink and take in the view.

The attention to detail and friendliness of the staff were impeccable. The food was outstanding—the fish sandwich is an absolute must-try! The location is perfect, right across from the beach and easy to find. The vibe is quaint yet modern, with a stylish California-inspired décor that makes it feel fresh and inviting. Truly a gem in Galveston!

This place is superb! Nice cozy place. The food and service top notch. Bartender upstairs was very friendly and very good. Its now one of my favorite places to visit in Galveston and that means alot as we frequent Galveston.

Room clean and a/c worked great. Had dinner at The Fancy and afternoon cocktails at The Rooftop Bar - service and food was excellent at both places. Staff was very friendly. Will come back!

Cool place, retro feel, very friendly staff; needs coffee in the rooms. Was pricey for the accommodations, especially when there was not even coffee available in the room, although you could get a cup of coffee for about four dollars at the bar in the morning. We paid over $300 per room, but we were desperate because our other accommodations were unavailable due to the storms. So I do not know if this is their usual price or if the price had gone up due to availability on the island.

The restaurant was 5 stars. Hotel is one of the best in town. Staff is great.
