The property itself is stunning and the staff pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately 2 of our guests got food poisoning after eating in their restaurant the first night. Whether it was from the food or brushing teeth with their water we will never know. We were still both still feeling so unwell on Saturday afternoon we had to cancel a very special dinner we had planned, incurring a $200 cancellation fee. In older, more customer service oriented times, I would have thought the hotel might have tried to make some sort of amends for this unfortunate incident but as it was, there was no gesture made to try and make up for a ruined weekend. We live in San Diego and love visiting the valley but Banyan Tree is now off our list and comes with a warning about the food should our friends ask us where we’d recommend.

We celebrated our 10-year anniversary at Banyan Tree in Guadalupe Valley, BC. The resort is beautiful, very eco-friendly, our sunset view suite was one of the most spectacular rooms we've experienced, and we have stayed at many 5-star resorts when traveling. The amenities, the private pool, and the indoor/outdoor shower were so special. We loved the entire experience, including the attentive staff and the hydrotherapy session at the spa. We will definitely visit again soon.

I cane here for my birthday (1st time visiting Valle de Guadalupe) and it was a true getaway. I would definitely recommend this place, just recommend bringing closed tenis shoes for all the dirt roads.
