Property is new, clean, modern, and very comfortable. Spa, gym, and pool areas are fantastic! Close to Ala Moana mall and Ala Moana beach which is nice and not anywhere as crowded as Waikiki. Major issue is service and room cleaning - there seems to be a lack of communication and standard procedures from management, so lots of confusion amongst staff (different people having different answers for things). A few issues: - Trying to book spa treatments ahead of arrival via phone was very difficult. Booking online is fine, but I had a few questions regarding party size and applying expedia discounts that they could not answer over the phone. You cannot book spa treatments by calling the spa, they told me you need to do it through Concierge, but when I called the front desk they did not know where to direct me. Very disorganized and unhelpful. - Quality of front desk staff is hit or miss. Again, I think management needs to do more training and have more standard procedures for everything including breakfast vouchers, resort fee allowances, etc. - There doesn't seem to be a good understanding of all the different promotions/credits/vouchers between the hotel, restaurant staff, spa staff. - Room cleaning service is not thorough in terms of replenishing items. While the cleaning is fine itself, there would be shortage of towels, or random things missing day to day (lotion, paper cups for coffee, etc). There was one day where we didn't receive any service at all.

Our stay was phenomenal and staff is friendly. Just a heads up that valet is the only thing they offer and it’s $59 tax a day. I will say it is worth the money but be sure to clear it how the charges will be made upon check in.

The pool area was great, lots of room to relax. I visited the spa for a massage. They have an ice bath, hot tub, sauna and steamroom all were very relaxing. They had 2 restaurants but the food was the same option everyday hoping this changes. The cafe was nice for a latte and a quick snack. The gym is one of the most well equipped gyms i have ever seem.

Great new location off Kapiolani. Beautiful amenities and facilities, and great eateries attached to the hotel. Staff are friendly and amazing, and they offered a free shuttle into Waikiki that ran every hour which was nice to be able to get into town. Will be staying here again in the future!

A very good stay. Staff were professional. Tried to get a room upgrade as Expedia said that I could being a gold member. But an upgrade to a suite would add more charges. Shopping area around the hotel was great. Walking distance. Only main issue is that laundry room was so small for such a big hotel. Only 2 washer and 2 dryer. Had to wait long time to do laundry. Valet parking was good and bit pricey but better than looking for parking around that area.

All the negative reviews about this place turned out to be true. The room was extremely dirty, and there was a very strong smell of dog urine and feces throughout the space. The female front desk staff member who checked us in (I didn’t catch her name) was also quite unfriendly. This hotel absolutely does not deserve a 5-star reputation. I would not recommend staying here.

Location was great as far as shopping with Ala Moana Center across the street and many walkable restaurants; but also many homelessness nearby. Unfortunately I don’t think you can get away from that in the area. Overall hotel was good with a nice Mediterranean restaurant on site and beautiful pool. My one complaint was with housekeeping. Cups for coffee did not get replaced during the 3 nights we stayed and the water glasses were not clean. They were wiped down from the previous guest as evidenced by the smell and smear marks. It’s the little things that count. However, staff were all great and made our stay enjoyable.

Things i like about this hotel is room is big and clean and newly built and view from the room was good and really enjoyed the fireworks view from the hotel which was the hallmark. The second best thing is the fitness center huge and valet service was good and quick. What turned me off was house keeping and maintenance which needs lot of improvement, they don't have a set time they come either very early in the morning or very late in the evening and forgot to refill the coffee bar, towels were reduced from 4 -> 3 -> 2 during our duration of stay total mess , cafe and laundry must be improved as well , laundry has only 2 units for such a large hotel. Location of hotel is nt a desirable location for walking. I have given a generous 4 starts for this hotel. In comparison Waikiki beachcomber a 3 star hotel was sensational in all aspects of things a truly 5 start experience there.

The suite was modern, clean, and had a great view, but the service and billing were frustrating. Housekeeping skipped our room for several days despite repeated requests for towels and basic cleaning. Only after I emailed Marriott corporate did daily service finally begin for the last part of our 9-night stay. Worse, we were hit with incorrect charges every day, including a $65 valet fee even though we never used valet and nightly “food credit” charges that should have been complimentary. My husband had to go to the front desk three nights in a row after 9 p.m. to have these removed. The property itself is beautiful and well located, but the constant billing mistakes and lack of response until we escalated made the trip far less relaxing. Double-check your folio and credit-card statements before you leave.

Stayed 5 days but linen was not changed. Glasses and coffee cups were not cleaned. Difficult to book the restaurant at the hotel through their QR code as we don’t know which time slots are available at booking. I understand later that we know the availabilities if we use external booking service like OpenTable. Hotel itself is clean but the service level is low.

It’s a 4 star instead of 5! I didn’t see the wow factor. Room was very dusty. I developed rashes on my arm I don’t know if it was from the dust or washing my clothes in the washer and dryer or from the dog dander.I thought no animals were allowed and saw 2 dogs. I’m highly allergic to dog dander.

The location was good The hotel itself was a little disappointing. There was no phone in the room to communicate with front desk or services. To order room service, I had to dial from my phone and food not only didn't come in 30 minutes as promised but 90 minutes later. The burger that I ordered was cold and my orange juice and mayonnaise was not delivered with the food but did come 30 minutes later. I was not able to eat much of the burger since it was cold although the fries were nice and hot.

Brand new hotel. Very clean. The front desk staff that I dealt with aren’t very friendly or approachable. Seemed like they weren’t happy to be there. So a bad first impression walking into the hotel on check in. The water pressure in my room was also very weak. Took longer than usual to shower in order to wash off the soap and shampoo due to the low pressure. 2/3 showers in the women spa facility was also broken. Overall, hotel was clean and located in a very convenient location. 20 mins walk to beach. Besides the front desk staff, everyone else seemed friendly.

We checked came to check in at 5pm 2 hours after check in is avail. Only 2 of our rooms were ready… we had to wait an additional hour to get the 3rd room. 3rd rooms tv did not work the whole 3 days we stayed here… wasted time with maintenance guy who couldn’t fix it and new room was not offered till the night before check out… Had to call and request maid service for all 3 rooms as it was never done all day so they had to come up at 8pm The restaurant on site Mara is quite over priced for the food you receive and slow service by the staff.. we ate here 2 times as we were trying to give them another chance and had room credits we had to use first time a member of our party waited 20 mins for her drink, the 88 dollar steak that was ordered well done came out medium. The 2nd time eating here because the waiter didn’t write down the order forgot about the coffee for the table and also 3 plates where ordered with eggs well scrambled came out quite runny still. At check out we got to settle the bill as they told it’s easier to put all room charges on 1 room and the resort credit can be deducted for all 3 rooms on to the 1 well that didn’t happen either only the credit for said room was deducted.. End result after talking to the front desk at check we did finally get a 200 dollar comp for the room inconvenience..

The property is new and nice. Very close to Ala Moana mall. But sadly the front desk staff are rude and not very friendly. They are not accommodating at all. It’s hard to get connected to in room dining and sometimes you have to call for housekeeping. I wouldn’t go back to this property because of the front desk staff.

The property was clearly understaffed, though no fault of the staff. Additionally, the staff was clearly poorly trained at their position. The concierge mumbled their explanations, the bellhop was doubling as the valet, and our rooms weren’t ready for more than 2 hours after our check in time. The restaurant was closed at night for lack of staff with no previous warning, and the front of house for the restaurant was doubling as bus boys in the morning. When we called the concierge to get our luggage after checking in, no one answered until the phone just went to a busy signal and we had to just wait and repeatedly try again until we were able to get our luggage delivered to our room. Literally the worst service I’ve had with any hotel in my entire 40 years of life. I’m sure these things would change when properly staffed or maybe outside the holiday season, but this was my experience and it was HORRIBLE. I could not recommend this to anyone.

Our stay was pretty good. There were two problems. One was that I had called to ask about a shuttle service from the airport. They told me they had one. They do have a shuttle service but not to or from the airport and they charge for the shuttle service every day whether you use it or not. The second issue is hidden charges. This hotel has a lot of hidden charges.

I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel for 3 nights and 4 days. While the hotel is new and very clean, the space felt quite small, including the lobby, and there was only one dining option available. The Lamill Coffee shop only offered to-go options, which was a bit inconvenient. The surrounding area near the convention center didn’t feel very safe for walking, with a couple of questionable bars nearby. We ended up taking an Uber every day to Waikiki (about a 10-minute drive) to enjoy our time there. The pool was also disappointing—very small and crowded. It seemed to be shared with an adjacent residential building, and there were way too many kids running around and making noise. We went to the 8th floor (where the pool is) once and never went back. The front desk calls it the “Magic Floor,” but it felt far from magical. I don’t think I would stay here again. Despite the quieter location, I learned a valuable lesson: in Hawaii, nothing beats staying at a hotel right by the ocean, even if it’s crowded. Next time, I’ll definitely opt for a beachfront hotel in Waikiki instead.

I love the location. It's literally across from Ala Moana mall. There's a ton of dining options nearby that's just within walking distance. I actually really like the fact that it's the only hotel located outside of Waikiki, though they do have a shuttle service that takes you directly into Waikiki.

This property had a lot to offer around it, including an outdoor shopping center and Magic Island which are both just about a 15 minute walk. Food at the hotel restaurant is amazing, and does come with decent portions but at a cost. As part of my package you do get a $48 per day to use towards drinks or meals and access to a go pro and other amenities.

Property is newer, good condition and felt clean. Stayed for 7 nights in a bedroom suite. Plenty of space for hanging out and had a desk to work from. Very close to Walmart and Target and made it easier to grab things when you needed. Operationally, I think the property still has kinks to work through as it relates to snack/bar being open as posted hours in pool area. The restaurant and in room delivery is slow for service.

The hotel was very new, and fresh in appearance but the only down fall being the extremely expensive restaurant. Breakfast was very nice but hit and miss what you actually received. You had to phone your Breakfast through every morning, even though we ate the same every day. Overall had a pleasant and comfortable stay. 8 out of 10.
